Preferable grouping in installing 0FIGL_C10

Hi, all!
I need to install 0FIGL_C10 from "BI Content". It will be the first object installed from "BI Content" and I don't have any experience with FI. I am going to use "In Dataflow Before and Aftwrds" grouping for installation. Is it preferable grouping for me?
Thanks,
Olga

0FI_GL_10 is the standard content DataSource that is the extractor for the data that will eventually get loaded into the 0FIGL_C10 InfoCube. This should be activated on your ECC environment and replicated into BW.
0FIGL_O10 is a DataStore Object (DSO) that is an intermediate repository to store data before being loaded to the 0FIGL_C10 InfoCube. This will be in the BI Content, in BW, under DSOs.
The Update Rules for 0FI_GL_10 -> 0FIGL_O10 and 0FIGL_O10 -> 0FIGL_C10 are in the BI Content in BW too. If you're migrating the 0FI_GL_10 to a 7.x DataSource, when replicating in BW, then you will want to convert these Update Rules to 7.x Transformations too.

  • Which unity accts can I take off "domain admin" group after install

    Hi
Unity 5.X in UM mode - Which unity accts can I take off "domain admin" group after install (ie unityinstall, unityadmin, UnityMsgStoreSvc, UnityDirSVC etc..)
and if I do so, what is the impact or if I want to upgrade in the future?
    Thanks

UnityInstall should be the most powerful account and is the only account that should be added to the Domain Admins group by the Permissions Wizard.  This is definitely true for Exchange 200, 2003, and 2007.  I've not dealt with a lot of customers on 2010 yet so this could have changed; however, I doubt it.  You can verify what I'm telling you here:
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/Unity/PermissionsWizard/Unity403_411/Help/PWHelpPermissionsSet_ENU.htm
This link will tell you what permissions and group memberships are set at a high level for all the Unity service accounts.
To clarify what Jonathan said, by "downgrade" the UnityInstall account - the rule of thumb is this:
Cisco supports that you DISABLE the UnityInstall account, if desired, after an installation.  This account should only be used during installation activities.  However, DO NOT DELETE the account in AD.  So, again - disabling the account is OK.

  • [solved] Preferred way to install & update Gnome extensions

    Hello there,
What is the preferred way to install and update Gnome extensions?
    Do you
    a) install the respective extensions from the AUR
    b) or do you use the https://extensions.gnome.org/local/ page for that purpose?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ways?
    Thanks!

Because if you use the AUR, you depend on the respective maintainers to update their PKGBUILD when a newer version is out. If they don't update, you will not receive a notification that a newer version of your extension is available.
With extensions.gnome.org/local, you do not depend on anyone else. It has no harm to your system to manage extensions like this; they get installed for just your user (in $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions).
I know which method I prefer.
Hmm true, despite the bad effects of using the AUR prefer to use it cause I don't like to add extra interfaces for every app. But I think that is just an opinion...

  • Group policy - 'install pending - reboot required'

I have deployed software using GPO - Computer Configuration - Assigned software.  This has worked with flying colors for most computers on our domain - all running Windows 7 x86.  Only a select few computers have failed to get this software installed.
When I checked RSOP.msc, I get a message that the install is pending and awaiting reboot.  These machines have rebooted many times and yet the same message appears on RSOP and the software has yet to actually install.
Where is it getting hung up?  Is there some sort of install cache that I can clear on the PC so GPO will try to send the install from scratch?
We have tried several things to try to isolate variables:
Tried gpupdate /force - I am prompted to reboot, and when I do so the software does not install
Checked GP Result - shows that this software install policy was "applied" to the computer, yet it isn't installed
Checked RSOP.msc, I get a message that the install is pending and awaiting reboot - reboots do not resolve this
Added permissions for "everyone" at the distribution point NTFS and share (I doubt it's permissions anyway since installs were successful on most computers before we added more permissions)
Tried adding a Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Group Policy/Startup policy processing wait time - 20 seconds (I tried this after reading this forum question -
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverGP/thread/2a2175bf-132f-46c2-bc5a-4c67932141e2/)
Furthermore, every test I try to manufacture grabs the GPO and installs the software with success.  The only machines that fail are machines that aren't easy for me to access as people are using them during the workday.
I have grabbed the event viewer information for a failing PC "WOLF", these events show every time after logon as well:

    > TeamViewer 6 MSI PDX failed. The error was : %%1274
Not really an error - more an information. Results from a "gpupdate" and
    means "reboot now, please".
    > from policy TeamViewer 6 MSI PDX failed. The error was : %%2
File not found. That's odd... May need further investigation.
    > before the user logon. The error was : %%1274
    See above - reboot required.
You may activate appmgmt debug logging and then post the resulting log
    file: In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics,
set AppmgmtDebugLevel (REG_DWORD) to 0x9b and examine
    %windir%\debug\usermode\appmgmt.log after the next reboot.
If no other solution, you may try to cleanup the appmgmt history key so
that all SW deployment GPOs will be processed again: Rename
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\AppMgmt and
    recreate empty.

  • ITunes Group Policy install

How can I install iTunes using Group Policy?
I have extracted msi files from installer and edited to install in English (strange Chinese thing going on). I don't want all components. Bonjor and Apple Software Update are not necessary if not inconvenient as the updater will surely need admin rights which users do not have. As it is iTunes installs but is dependant on QuickTime (also deployed via group policy); this seems to install OK but needs to be launched before iTunes recognises that it is installed. I am also getting an error on iTunes launch regarding CD import. This is getting to be a chore especially considering Apple has already done the packaging. Any advice would be apreciated.

iTunes itself enlists the files as usual, but the track time is "not defineable" or something like that.
    hiya!
for that one, first try deselecting error correction in your importing preferences. if no joy with that, try the other suggestions given here:

  • MSI Group Policy install failing because of administrator rights problem

I have succesfully installed the desktop manager software 4.6 on my PC using the MSI from the CD. I am a domain administrator, when I try to install the same MSI on other users in the domain through group policy who are not administrators the software will not install. I have checked and the policy is definately being applied and it says on logon that the Blackberry Desktop Manager software is being installed but no icon or program group is created.
I don't want to give users administrator rights as the users are not allowed to install software on their PC. Normally software installs through group policy without a problem. I don't want to have to go around to each PC and install manually if I can avoid it.
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Someone else would really need to answer this, but i have my own simple solution we use here.
Create a share file eg //138.218.137.22 etc etc for the user to go to. In here save a copy of the desktop manager. Get them to click and drag it to their desktop and install the file from there. (do not install the file directly from the shared drive)
Is the cd version won't work, get the install.exe from the blackberry site..
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.
    OR
If it was just/or also really helpful - Give it a Kudos.. Go on Mate.. Help the rest of the clueless blackberry user world find their answer too..

cp is tolerated, but make sure that you manually set permissions if necessary.
Otherwise, create your own functions and paste them in sparingly, e.g.
    function install_dir()
    src_dir_="${1%/}"
    shift
    dst_dir_="${1%/}"
    shift
    src_len_=${#src_dir_}
find "$src_dir_" -type f -print | while read path_
    do
    rel_path_="${path_:${src_len_}}"
    install "$@" "$path_" "$dst_dir$rel_path_"
    done
    install_dir "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver/foo/lib" "$pkgdir/lib" -Dm 644

  • Problem to install 0FIGL_O10 (0FIGL_C10)

I want to install 0FIGL_C10. I replicated DataSource 0FI_GL_10 from FI Source System and now trying to install 0FIGL_O10. In simulation I get error "Infoobject 0COSTCENTER is not available in version A". What I should to do?
    Thanks,
    Olga

The InfoAreas are essentially folders for organization of objects. If you install 0COSTCENTER to the undefined (NODESNOTCONNECTED) it will have no affect on the activation of your InfoCube. The only affect that it will have is that you won't necessarily be able to find it quickly in the future because it's in a default InfoArea.
You can also, if you so choose, create your own InfoAreas to put InfoObjects and other objects into. In fact, most BW installations that I've worked on have used custom InfoAreas instead of the standard content InfoAreas, because they wanted them to make sense to their particular business.

  • What to do after 11g R2 install on win 2008, get errs trying to start dbcon

The install run fine, but at the end it gives you a nasty warning saying the following:
    1) Set your environment Variable ORACLE_UNQNAME to the Database unique name"
    2) c:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emctl.bat start dbconsole.
Why id didnt do this for you as part of the install I dont know. Anyway, I set a SYSTEM environment varibale ORACLE_UNQNAME ot orcl (I have no idea what Database unique name is, but Im guessing its either the SID or the Gloabl DB name. i have tried both, and neither seem to work).
After this, I fire up powrer shell, and enter:
    c:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emctl.bat start dbconsole
    which give the error:
    - An instance of Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control is already running.
    So I try this:
    c:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emctl.bat stop dbconsole
    which gives the error message:
The OracleDBConsoleorcl service is not started.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3521.
I try starting it again, and its says its already running.
    WTH?
After installation, how does one get oracle working?
Looking at services, I see that OracleDBConsoleorcl is stopped. If I try and start it as a server, about 20 secons later it stops again.
    Any ideas?
Does one have to set any other environtment variables, and what should they be?
If I try and login to the em console on 1158, it says
Internal Error has occurred. Check the log file for details.
Unfortuatnely, it doesnt say what log files or where they are. if I got to the sysman/log dir, there is nothing there.
This is the 3rd attempt to install oracle, wasting some 3 days so far. The installer just doesnt work.
Has anone ever got 11g R2 to work poperly on windows serer 2008?
Right after the install, the DB and listener are up, I can connect to it via sqlplus or toad. However, As soon as I reboot the machine, from experience, I know the listener service will no longer start, and there will be no errors in any logs.
    Thanks for any help.
Ive tried installing enterprise and standard edition - both fail in the same way. Ive tried installing as custom users in the Administrators group, and installing as Administrator. Both fail in the same way.

    user555967 wrote:

Having done the install with no errors, as said, the em console just doesnt work.
Next problem is I cant even use sqlplus correctly. If I do this (as the user who installed oracle):
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    It gives:
    ERROR:
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
So I cant even start/stop the DB.
Im contemplating my options here. one is to switch back to Unix, and try installing oracle on that. The other is to port our entire app to mysql. Im not sure which is the quicker approach.
"Switch back" to unix? Why would you ever have "downgraded" from unix to Windows in the first place? What's the cost of license and annual support for Oracle Linux vs. Windows?
I avoid Windows every chance I get. Not because of the specific issue you are having (which actually is probably something rather simple), but simply because Windows is such a miserable excuse for a serve OS. I've always had Oracle on both nix and Windows in every shop I've worked as an Oracle dba.  In fact, my first oracle db's (ver 7.3) were on Windows.  I consider myself equally adept in both environments, but I still find nix far easier to work with as a server OS.
There are no logs in sysman/logs

  • [SOLVED] Install multiple packages at once?

Arch linux has by far the best documentation I've seen at this point and while I've read through the ABS section and the PACBUILDER section, I've not seen what I'm looking for.  Because of this, if its right in front of me, by all means, please point it out.
Here's what I'm looking to accomplish:
I'm running this on a simple notebook and I'm the only user so I don't really have any configurations that need be made on the fly later on, its pretty much just set it up the way I like it and that's that.  When I run a clean install, afterwards, I perform most of the steps outlined in the wiki's beginner's installation guide such as:
install sudo, modify sudoers (using wheel group method)
    install x
    install nouveau and mesa
    install synaptic
    install dbus
etc, etc, you get the point.
Anyhow, instead of spending 2 hours (yes it takes me that long) typing pacman -S <package> to get everything installed and then spending the time to modify things like daemon array in rc.conf, etc...  is there some way I can compile a set of packages to be installed together?  for example, if I could package the above mentioned packages inside one package then just execute with pacman -U custompackage1.tar.gz that would be a good time saver especially if I reformat the hard disk and want to get everything back to my "base clean install" with all my base settings, programs, etc etc.
I really hope this makes sense and that I didn't botch up my description of what I want to achieve.
    Thanks in advance!

The easiest would probably be to keep a list of packages you want to install, update the fresh system first and then pipe your packages into pacman like this
    pacman -S $(<list)
You can back up your config files (just tar them with full path) but I wouldn't recommend overwriting them blindly, as depending on the config file things may be slightly different on other hardware or you could miss some change in upstream config (pacnew etc).

    Hi,
Yes, Solution describe in 350251 - Creating a New or 2nd Oracle SID with runInstaller
    "THE SOLUTION"
The good news is the solution is very simple and takes a few seconds
    First cd /var/opt/oracle
You will find a file called oraInst.loc # cat oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/oracle/PR1/oraInventory
    inst_group=dba
Use vi or emacs to edit the file and change the inventory_loc to the directory of the oracle instance you are currently installing. ie inventory_loc=/oracle/PR2/oraInventory
Restart your oracle installer  eg. su - orapr2
    cd /oracle/stage/816_64
    setenv DISPLAY localhost:0.0
    ./runInstaller

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 plus will not install , msg Call to DriverPackageInstall returns error 5

I get message "Call to Driver Package Install returned error 5 for package -c\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 8600\Drivers Store\Pipeline\hpup\03.inf-Call to Driver Package Install must be a member of th eadministrator group to install a driver package. Laptop is HP, Core 5, running Win 8.1
No security messages arose during very slow install.
Tried several times, tried to download installation package as suggested btroubleshooter but aborted 4 times (4 hours), other downloads had no problem. Tried changing startup as indicated also, did not correct the problem.

    Hi Liam,
The installation CD that came with your 8600 will definitely not work with Windows 8.1 and is not same as the latest online download which you will need to install on Win8.1.
Are you running Win8.1 Pro 32 or 64 bit?
Also make sure you select the right model of your Officejet. There are 3 different models.
HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One - N911n
Try uninstalling printer from the control panel and reinstall using the Win8.1 download from the link above.
    Thanks
