Premiere sends EDL with 'invalid timecode format string'
Following the suggestions in this thread, I am attempting to send an EDL of a Premiere sequence to Speedgrade.
When I attempt to import the EDL into Speedgrade I get this error message:
ERROR
In point timecode is invalid. Invalid timecode format string(hours): '23813+20'
in edit 1
File: 001 LR001 V C 2813+20 23815+17 0:00 1+37
Line: 2
I've worked very rarely with EDLs but have read the Speedgrade and Premiere guides. I must be missing something but can't tell what. Here's the details from my project:
I'm editing in 24fps. The video files are generated in After Effects from DPX files. The timecode is based on the DPX file names, with the hour matching the Lab Roll number (so 11:00:00 for Roll 11)
I export an EDL in CMX3600 format. I've tried both default settings and without audio. Same results. I even get the same result if I make a sequence from a single clip and try exporting that EDL.
I don't think this is a Speedgrade issue, because if I try re-importing the EDL into Premiere, it seems like all the clips are only one frame long.
Any suggestions about what I might be doing incorrectly would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lev
Are you wanting to just simply go from Premiere to Speedgrade? If so why not just use the "send to speedgrade" choice. Also I wanted to point out in the original thread you actually said you didn't want to use speedgrade, I've never used a EDL with speedgrade so I have 0 ideas there, but have you tried just using Premiere's built in send to speedgrade function?

Oracleasm lib failed to load with "Invalid module format" error
Hi,
I'm tring to install the oracleasm lib onto our hardened Redhat EL5 server
I've download the oracleasm rpm from this page http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/linux/asmlib/rhel5.html.
We're using Redhat 5 U 2
[root@PG673 modules]# uname -rm
2.6.18-92.el5 x86_64
[root@PG673 modules]#
The package I downloaded is an exact match with our kernel version
[root@PG673 modules]# rpm -qa | grep asm
oracleasm-2.6.18-92.el5-2.0.5-1.el5
oracleasm-support-2.1.3-1.el5
oracleasm-support-2.1.3-1.el5
oracleasm-2.6.18-92.el5-2.0.5-1.el5
oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5
oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5
[root@PG673 modules]#
RPM installation went well, but when we run the /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure command, we hit the following error
[root@PG673 other]# /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure
/etc/init.d/oracleasm: line 207: /usr/sbin/oracleasm: cannot execute binary file
Later we found out that the oracleasm module haven't been loaded, so we try to load it manually, but we hit the "Invalid module format" error.
[root@PG673 modules]# modprobe -l | grep asm
/lib/modules/2.6.18-92.el5/kernel/drivers/addon/oracleasm/oracleasm.ko
[root@PG673 modules]# modprobe oracleasm
FATAL: Error inserting oracleasm (/lib/modules/2.6.18-92.el5/kernel/drivers/addon/oracleasm/oracleasm.ko): Invalid module format
[root@PG673 modules]#
As I know this error could happen if the driver version is not match with the system kernel version.
The problem is we're already using an exact match version of driver with our system, I can't think of what to do next in order to proceed the installation.
Really appreciate if someone could point me a direction.
Thanks
MikeHi Mike,
something looks a bit strange for me. On my OEL 5.4 x64 system i have just the following 3 packages:
$ rpm -qa | grep asm
oracleasm-2.6.18-164.el5-2.0.5-1.el5
oracleasm-support-2.1.3-1.el5
oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5 Your packages should be I think the following:
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/oracleasm-support/dist/files/RPMS/rhel5/amd64/2.1.3/oracleasm-support-2.1.3-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
http://otn.oracle.com/software/tech/linux/asmlib/files/RPMS/rhel5/amd64/2.0.4/oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/oracleasm/dist/files/RPMS/rhel5/amd64/2.0.5/2.6.18-92.el5/oracleasm-2.6.18-92.el5-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
Uninstall all asm packages and retry with just those three.
Good luck!
Cheers,
David

Data services with SQL Server 2008 and Invalid time format variable
Hi all
Recently we have switched from DI on SQL Server 2005, to DS(Date Services) on SQL Server 2008. However I have faced an odd error on the query that I was running successfully in DI.
I validate my query output using a validation object to fill either Target table (if it passes), or the Target_Fail table (if it fails). Before sending data to the Target_Fail table, I map the columns using a query to the Target_Fail table. As I have a column called 'ETL_Load_Date' in that table, which I should fill it with a global variable called 'Load_Date'. I have set this global variable in the script at the very first beginning of the job. It is a data variable type:
$Load_Date = to_char(sysdate(),'YYYY.MM.DD');
When I assign this global variable to a datetime data type cloumn in my table and run the job using Data Services, I get this error:
error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid time format>.
However I didn't have this problem when I was running my job on the SQL Server 2005 using Data Integrator. The strange thing is that, when I debug this job, it runs completely successfully!!
Could you please help me to fix this problem?
Thanks for your help in advance. Thanks for your reply.
The ETL_Date is a datetime column and the global variable is date data type. I have to use the to_char() function to be able to get just the date part of the current system datetime. Earlier I had tried date_part function but it returns int, which didn't work for me.
I found what the issue was. I don't know why there were some little squares next to the name of the global variable which I had mapped to the ETL_Date in the query object!!! The format and everything was OK, as I had the same mapping in other tables that had worked successfully.
When I deleted the column in the query object and added it again, my problem solved. -
We migrated Packages from SSIS 2008 to 2012. The Package is working fine in all the environments except in one of our environment.
SSIS 2012 is intermittently failing with below error while importing data from a source table into a Destination table with same exact schema.

the specified type.".
End Error
But when we reorder the column in "Updated" in Destination table, the package is importing data successfully.
This looks like bug to me, Any suggestion?Hi Mohideen,
Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.
Hope this helps.

Sending email with 2 attachments in PDF Format
Hi,
I have 2 ALV Layouts, totally different in Structure.
Now I need to convert these 2 ALV layout to 2 different PDF files and send email with thses 2 attachments.
Can anyone provide me with sample report.
I tried searching for it but there is no clue for ALV report-> PDF -> email.
Thanks
MohanHello,
I doubt if you really searched before posting. You will find many posts indicating how to convert your report output be it ALV or classical into spool and then in to pdf. After you get the pdf binary format, its pretty much the same attaching those and sending E-mail

Send Email with HTML format in Outlook Macro
I can use the following to send email with HTML format in VBA. I also have created an HTML file. Is there a way to load the file into .HTMLBody to send it as HTML format message?
Set OutlookApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set objMail = OutlookApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)
With objMail
.BodyFormat = olFormatHTML
.HTMLBody = "<HTML><BODY>Enter the message text here. </BODY></HTML>"
.Display
End WithTry:
Dim fso As Scripting.FileSystemObject
Dim htmlFile As Scripting.TextStream
Set fso = New Scripting.FileSystemObject
Set htmlFile = fso.OpenTextFile("C:\path\to\my-html-file.htm")
strInsert = htmlFile.ReadAll
then change:
.htmlbody = strInsert
oh, and you need to set a reference to the Scripting runtime in Tools, References.

I'm writing a program which will utilize the internal memeory of the Agilent 34410A DMM for making fast measurements (10K/s). In order to do this, I need to setup a test, have the data stored to the internal memory, then read and delete it, while other measurements are still happening. The best command for the read/delete function is the R? command, but it returns the data in a strange format which breaks the ViScanf format string.
an example of the R? reading in below:
R? 2
#231+2.87536000E-04,+3.18131400E-03
Is there a way to setup the ViScanf format string to handle this?
Thanks
RyanYes, I am using CVI
If it was just returning one value I would use a simple viScanf function like this:
viScanf (vi, "%f", fbuf);
If you do a READ from in the instrument, it returns an array of floats so you need to adjust you viScan fuction parse the string into an array of floats like this (array of 500 for this example):
viScanf(vi, "%,500f", fbuf);
The problem is the data response to the R? command starts with the array size and is then followed by the data (#231+2.87536000E-04,+3.18131400E-03). In the previous example, I need to delete the #, and parse the 231 into an array size variable and then fill an array (fbuf in this case) with the data. -
Pages is sending my documents in docx format, but windows unable to open them. They arrive blank or can only be read as a single line at a time. When viewed prior to sending, the document is divided with black lines after each sentence.
Windows will only be able to open these if you have Word 2007+. Older versions of Word, for example Word 2003 would require a compatibility pack.
Perhaps you can try 'Saving As' a different file type instead?

Hi Folks,
my Problem is that i need to format a String by using a pattern.
The Input String is like "20081208" and the Output String has to be "2008-12-08".
I could simply do this by using String.substring but i think it's not that elegant.
Also i found a way by doing it with SimpleDateFormat.
But it needs to much lines of code to do this as it's worth.
Is there a simple way like String.format just to do this in one line?
I'd like to pass the String which should be formatted and a format String to a method and it gives me the result.
Thanks in advance,

System.out.println("20081208".replaceAll("(\\d{4})(\\d{2})(\\d{2})", "$1-$2-$3"));Note that if you're processing a large amount of data, this will almost certainly be slower than using a StringBuffer as already advised by two members. You can get a big performance boost by pre-compiling the regex and instantiating the Matcher ahead of time:
static final Matcher matcher = Pattern.compile("(\\d{4})(\\d{2})(\\d{2})").matcher("");
String newString = matcher.reset(oldString).replaceFirst("$1-$2-$3"); It will probably still be slower than the StringBuilder solution, but not by much. Of course, if the data is really huge, even a very small difference can have a noticeable impact. -
"Invalid Keystore Format" with Java Web Start
I got a user with a "invalid keystore format" problem He's running Windows XP and it happens when our java webstart application is starting up. He had a mix of java 5 and java 6.
We uninstalled all his javas and deleted his c:\program files\java\jre6\lib\security\cacerts file as suggest by my company's support people and reinstalled java 6 U 22 and he still has the problem.
The other users don't have a problem.
How do we get our java web start application on work for him? It a java application and not a java applet.
He got a new Dell laptop a couple of months ago and it has never worked for him. That model of laptop works for other users.the jar containing the native lib (win32com.dll) needed to be under the <nativelib> tag in the jnlp rather than <jar> .. duh!
fixing that solved the problem :) -
Dealing with Fixed Length formats both at sender and receiver side
Hi all,
I have file -- File with fixed lenght formats.
Source system will generate a text file with fixed lenght and target also needs the same file with same format.
Then we have an idea to implement the interface with out IR Development .this is fine upto now.
But now the problem is we are receiving more fields from source than we require for target process. we are not using at receiver side.
So receiving system needs only few required fields from the source file.
From soucre
Ex: Source.... DocNum Invoice No Bill date Bill amount vendor code
We require at target
Ex: Target..... DocNum Bill Date Vendor code
Please suggest me
RegardsHi,
>>The source file content conversion is simple...In the target when you specify the target field names just leave out the ones you dont need...
from source we wil read all the fields, this is fine and in the target how to mention the field positions
Here all fields will come into picture, we cant mention the positions at receiver
Source side Ex: Docnum InvoiceNo Billdate Bill Amt Vendor
Fixed lenghts are 10 20 10 10 20
Target Expects Ex: Docnum BillDate Vendor
10 10 20
in receiver side if you mention fixed lenghts like 10 10 20 means it may read docnum, Invoiceno, BillDate
It wont ignore InvoiceNo field in this case
