Presentation Hierarchy Grand Total Values

Hi,
We have the following scenario,
Hierarchy Product A is created for Dimension Product A
Hierarchy Product B is created for Dimention Product B
Fact Product Measures is joined to Store Dimension , Dimension Product A, Dimention Product B and Fiscal Calendar
Dimension Product A contains subset of Products that are existing at Fact
Dimention Product B contains subset of Products that are existing at Fact
and some products can exists both at Dimension Product A and Dimension Product B
The issue we are facing is, when ever report is created using One of the Product Hierarchy and Fact. Product Sales (default aggregation is sum),
the grand total level is showing sum of all Product Sales. It is not limiting to Products that are in Product Hierarchy selected in the report.
But the sub levels are limiting based on selected Product Hierarchy which is causing not matching the roll up amount to grand total.
Is it possible to limit the grand total level value of Presentation Hierarchy based on selected Product Hierarchy.
Does anyone face similar issue.

is your summary and detail reports hitting different facts, like summary hitting aggregate and detail report hitting it's corresponding detail level fact..?
if then,
From Front-end:
Fix the filter values in detail report that are passing from master report then try delete each columns then check the grand total. If you found your values is matching by deleting particular column then you need to investigate what is the issue around with that dimension table..
From Database side:
1. check first aggregate table has proper aggregate data of it's detail..
2. Take the detail report obiee generated query and try to comment each dimension table and it's corresponding joins to the facts, (before, this delete all the dimensional columns and other measures from select statement and put only that measure where you are getting wrong value, so that you need not to comment all the select and group by columns which saves your time.. ). Need to check by commenting each dimensional wid and it's table from clause, if you found that values is matching then there is some problem with wid columns data population in your ETL.
Is that BI-Apps project?

Grand Total value displaying in all rows

I am facing issue with report data in one of my environment (OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2) ,
Let's say I have env1 and env1 with report A (Union Report)
In env1 the report is working fine.
Col1--------- Msr1---------Msr2

the same report in env2,

The grand total value is repeated instead of row value in env2.
I tried moving the reports around the environments but no use, I believe some enviornment level setting is the reason for this issue. (I have few more environments everywhere it is working fine like env1, the only problem is with env2).
Could anyone give some suggestions.

It is happening because of RPD corruption.
Copied physical, bmm and presentation layer from env2 to env1 then same issue started occuring in env1.
the following things worked,
1) Created a new bmm and SA in env1 from env2 physical model, this worked fine.
2) Copy the BMM from env2 to env1 - Let say BMM1
Now recopied the BMM1 in the logical layer of env1 and rename it as BMM2 this also worked fine.
Looks like the BMM layer was corrupted, don't know the reason why it happened..

Grand total values are not matching with Detail report

Report has grand totals and when I drill to the detail report, grand total values are NOT matching with parent report totals, I did some analysis but I'm clueless on this issue.
Please provide your thoughts and insight on this issue..

How to show Grand total values in Chart view....

Hi,
I have a crazy req. like i need to show grand totals values also on the chart view along with the normal metrics.
column Metric1 Metric2
AAA 10 20
BBB 30 15
CCC 20 15
TOTAL 60 50
so here i need the values 60 and 50 also also to be displayed in a line graph

Pretty simple to achieve :)
In your Pivot view, under Rows section where you have column dimensions like AAA,BBB etc...create a new calculated item say Grand Total with function as 'formula' and formula as sum(*). This will give you a new row with totals. Now Chart Pivoted Results and you are done.

I am facing a issue in obiee 11g .I am using a Pivot table to display the grand total of 3 metric columns eg: A , B, C out of which B is percentage so I need to remove the grand total value of the percentage column. We have to stick to Pivot View only. Anyone can sugest me on this?

Wrong SSAS Grand Total Value Monthly Value base on Weekly Value

I Have calculated measures in my cube base on Weekly and Base on Monthly and different
Template Base .
For grand Total Weekly is fine but for Monthly is bad one.
Say calculated Measure Name "Weekly" with Syntax

Hi Yan,
According to your description, you create a calculated measure in your cube, the problem is that grand Total for Monthly is incorrect, right?
In your scenario, the issue can be caused by that you used "*" and "/" in your calculated measure. In SSAS, one of the most common issues faced in mdx is grand total or sub total not coming properly when some arithmetic operations like
measure1 [* or + or - or /] measure2 is used, please refer to the link below to see the details.

Formulated Grand total as percentage value

78 20 26% (now instead of getting 26% i'm getting 48%). How to get formulated grand total value based on previous two columns ?

Try this: on your Percentage column, change the aggregation rule to "server complex aggregate."

Column Level Security - Grand Total row

Hello All, I have a question about Column Level Security in a report where Grand Total is turned on. I am working inside of the OOTB Paint rpd and I am looking at the 'Finish Sales Trend for Current Year' report on the Brand Analysis dashboard page. Inside of the Admin Tool I added column level security on the Units presentation column in the Sales Measures table. I implemented security that will not allow the Central Region Manager group to view the Units column. When I access the report I noticed that the Grand Total row of the table is slightly skewed because the Units column is hidden. The Grand Total row is showing, however all the results are off by 1 cell.

For eg:
consieder a report with following columns,
Year Product Measure1 Measure2
In this if for measure1 the column level security is enabled (user1 who is not supposed to see the data).
Then grand total value of measure2 will be in the grand total of measure1. (for user1)
When column level security is enabled, that column will be pushed to the end of the table view.
So that it is happening.
By using case statements with groups or users we can get it work without enabling the column level security.

Valid Scrypt for Grand Total

I have created an expanding table, using the following link:

However, I have been unsuccessful with the Grand Total value. As shown in the picture below, the rest of the totals show but the Grand Total remains blank. I must include the Installation fee (marked by the check box)

Row1[x] (where x is an integer) is the name and subscript for your rows. In the example, Stef (if that's his real name) used Item as the name for his rows. In your form, you are using Row1. So, each row is named Row1[0], Row1[1], Row1[2], etc... Inside of each Row1, you have a text field called "Total." Since you're using formCalc, you are summing the total of those rows using Row1[*].Total. So, if you haven't changed anything else, you should (at the very least) be able to sum the rows in the grand total box using
$.rawValue = Sum(Row1[*].Total)
Now, the checkbox is a different story. The checkbox has an "on" value and an "off" value. We can use that in formCalc to more easily add it to the value that we're going to get for the grand total. If you set the "on" value to 300 (I included an illustration of that in my first picture), then you can use the name of the checkbox to get your total. If the checkbox is checked or "on", then the on value (300 in my example) gets added to the total, and if it's unchecked or "off", then the off value (0 in my example) gets added. The checkbox also has to have it's name correct. In my example it's called CheckBox1, in your code you have Installation. So, whatever you named the checkbox needs to go at the end of the formula we're using like so.
$.rawValue = Sum(Row1[*].Total) + Installation
If you named your checkbox something else, then you'll need to change the word "Installation" to whatever the checkbox is named. (The name is in the hierarchy tree.)

Printing Grand Totals in Footer along with page total

I have a report which prints PO Header and PO Lines. For each page while iterating thru PO Lines I print page total in the footer.
Once all PO Lines are printed with page totals in the footer of each page, I want to print Grand total in the last page in the footer along with last page total. Currently my XML data has pre-computed grand total in the PO Header block.
The problem
I have wrapped header and lines inside <?start:body?> and <?end:body?> which allows me to print page totals outside the <?end:body?> tag.
I print page totals and "Continue" next to it in the footer. But
Finally when grand total comes into picture in the outer loop I want to replace "Continue" text with grand total value in the last page and print it as footer.
I tried to use xdoxlt:set_variable() function to flag a variable value to 1 when iteration happens in HEADER block and set it to 2 in inner loop of lines block. But the scope of the variable is confined between <?start:body?> and < ?end:body? and is not visible outside the <?end:body?> tag.
The logic I want to accomplish is
if var = 1 then
print page total and "Continue"
elsif var = 2 then
print page total and Grand Total.
end if
This logic doest work as the value of var is not visible outside the body tag.
I want to use this variable value to print footer which lies outside <?end:body?> tag with grand totalor page total
Please suggest if there is any other way I can accomplish this functionality. Can we use parameter and update it. Syntax for update parameter value is not clear in user guide.
Any help would be appreciated.

thanks for the info, i was trying to avoid this but had already reached the same conclusion.
everything else seems to be very time consuming and may not work correctly in the end.
we're on Oracle Applications : 11.5.10.2 which has just been converted to utf-8 and is an Oracle On-Demand installation.
do you know if 5.6.3 of the publisher is supported and any ideas on how difficult it is to get it installed?

Grand Total not displaying correctly on Column level security.

Hi All,
I have implemented the Column level security for three columns. But in dashboard report. The grand total is not displaying correctly. The grand total values are still displayed for the hidden columns.
Is there any work around for this.
The sample how my report looks like after column level security is.
ColumnA Metric1 Metric2 Metrics3(to be hidden)
A 100 200
B 150 100
GrandTotal 250 300 400( this includes the value of A = 300, B = 100).

In my footer i gave the grand total in a separate line type and condition i gave only before end of main window check box activated but in every pages i got the grand total value.

check the table SFSY
and PAGENO holds current page no
FORMPAGES holds all page numbers
Check the condition like
SFYS-FORMPAGES > SFSY-PAGENO
or
SFYS-PAGENO > SFSY-FORMPAGES
any of above condition will work
