Presets in Photoshop CC

I have lots of brushes which are stored in the presets folder in Photoshop CS5, as are my other presets. How and were can I copy these too, to use in CC. I have looked at the tutorials for Libraries but it seems not to cover what I want to do which is have them available in one place to access them on either my MAC pc or tablet?

Hi Shelagh,
For Windows:
You can navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Brushes and copy the brushes and paste them in the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Presets\Brushes.
For Mac:
Navigate to Applications/CS5 Photoshop/Presets/Brushes and copy the brushes and paste them in the folder Applications/Photoshop CC/Presets/Brushes
Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.

  • Using Lightroom presets in Photoshop?

    Hi,
I apologize if this question has been asked before. I've been told
that I can use my Lightroom presets in Photoshop CS4 and 5.
Apparently by importing them into Camera RAW. Does anyone  have any instructions
on how to do this. Can you apply the preset to JPG's as well?
    Thanks in advance.

You can try this tip: http://www.lifeindigitalfilm.com/2009/01/tutorial-how-to-convert-lr-presets-to-acr.html
Never seen the need myself as I do all this type of work in Lightroom.

  • Where are Print Presets in Photoshop (CC 2014)?

Where are print presets in Photoshop?  (I'm using CC 2014 but the question applies to earlier versions as well.)
    I don't see them anywhere.
Illustrator has had them for an eternity -- where you can set paper size, printer type, color settings, magnification, etc.
Where is the same functionality for Photoshop?  And if it doesn't exist -- why not? It makes no sense.

Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.
Unquestionably, Print Presets would be very useful in Photoshop.
I know where all the settings are -- I want to have a preset so I don't have to keep setting the color management and magnification and everything else each time I want to output to a particular printer.

  • Can I use Lightroom presets in Photoshop CS4

    HI,
There are a lot of beautiful Lightroom presets out there, I do not have Lightroom but PS CS4, Is it possible to use Lightroom presets in Photoshop CS4?  If so how do I import them ..ie: do I need to change the extension to a filter, action, and lastly which folder do I place them?
    Thank you in advance
    Alayne

While they're not importable, you can simulate your own presets to your liking, and store as many as you wish.

  • I can't adjust my Brush Presets in Photoshop CC when using a Wacom Intuos 2 Tablet.

Hi.... I hope someone out there can help me with this. I'm using Photoshop CC with an Wacom Intros 2 Tablet.   I want my Brush Tool preset to be "Soft Round" so I can create smooth consistently shaped lines when clicking & dragging along the straight edge of a selection.
When I attempt to do this in the Brush Presets Panel it seems to be locked on "Shape Dynamics" with Pen Pressure control.  Whenever I switch both of these off & try to create a different brush preset it will automatically jump back in to the same settings, even after locking the Brush Preset & creating a new Brush. What I end up with when clicking & dragging is a fine point at one end of the line & a soft round brush effect at the other end.  Very frustrating!  I don't have this problem when using a Mouse, and a friend who is using Photoshop CS5 with an Intros 2 tablet is not having this issue either.  Is this just another one of the few glitches I've noticed with Photoshop CC?  Or am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.
    Craig

    You mean this?
Save it as a calligraphy brush.

  • Not able to ADD video presets to Photoshop CC

    Hi there
I am currently using Photoshop to edit videos but the render settings that I need are not available in the Export menu.
With Adobe Media Encoder I have saved off the preset I need and added it to the following folders:
    C:\Programmes\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 bit)\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder\Quicktime
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 bit)\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder\Quicktime
I was hoping that when I restarted Photoshop that the preset that I wanted would be listed in the menu but no such luck.
Can I do what I am doing? Is it possible?
    Thanks
    Julian

    David,
I know you've already solved your problem, but just in case you need to add in some of those components back for some reason....
I had a similar issue, but once I used Apple's "Compressor" app it solved all my problems.  It did require paying for "Compressor" but it was worth it, as I needed to keep some of the other components for other work.
And by using "Compressor" I was sure all my files were as tiny as possible.  "Compressed" to the maximum so to speak.
Our book had tons of video: it's an American Sign Language (video on every page) and English (audio and text on every page).  So making sure our files were as small as possible was important.
    Thanks for sharing your solution.
If anyone is curious, here is our American Sign Language & English book, using Compressor, here it is:

  • How to create a new paper size preset in photoshop CS6

Hi, Im trying to create a new paper size preset in PS CS6. I was told if I went to my PS folder, I will find a folder named presets. Inside that folder there should be a text document called "New Doc Sizes.txt" but it's not there.
Has anyone any idea where I might find this text file in a presets folder?
I have a C drive, but my folder for CS6 is on my D drive. I use Windows Ultimate 7 x64.

There's a file named "New Doc Sizes.psp" on my Mac. "Save Preset..." in the "File > New..." dialogue stores custom doc specs in that file.
    /Users/<name_deleted>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings/New Doc Sizes.psp
There should be an equivalent in Windows.

  • How to change Presets in Photoshop Print.

The attached photo is of Photoshop / Print / Presets. Current, Default Settings & Last Used Setting are all the same & none of the values to the right can be changed. My question is this; is this normal for Photoshop or should the valus be adjustable? If so, how because mine cannot be selected to do so? Using Photoshop CS5 Extended on Mac OS X 10.7.2 iMac.

Neither Delete or Duplicate are selectable in any of the three settings; Current, Default or Last Used Settings. I can create a new Setting but nothing can be changed in the Menu on the right side.

  • Where are my gradient presets in photoshop cc?

This is what comes up. Where are my presets? do I need to re-download the program? I had the trial version and just payed for my CC membership so do i need to do something to get the full version?

The Gradient menu in the tool options bar for Shapes doesn't have a list of the installed gradient presets.
You can use either the Load Gradients or Replace Gradients and then in the Windows Explorer dialog navigate to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Presets\Gradients

  • Updates are adjusting Presets in Photoshop CS6

Its real simple. I come in after an update and I paste something on the canvas and the transfer controls are on. I dont know what you are doing with your updates but it will get hellish real quick if updates are changing presets for users. So be real careful to make sure your not changing presets around with these updates or u may see a large migration back to paint.

Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.

  • Saving sub-presets in Photoshop CC?

International paper sizes only exist up to A3. I made presets A0-A2, but can I save them within the "International paper" group?

I believe you can add to the different groups if you edit the Default New Doc Sizes.txt
Make a copy to edit so you still have the original.

  • Undocking Tool preset palette photoshop CC

    Hello community,
is there a way to undock Tool preset palette, (this one - http://www.photoshopforphotographers.com/CC_2013/Help_guide/tp/Tool_Presets_palette/tool_p resets.jpg), from a top bar?
It would save me a bunch of time if the palette would be open and free-floating at all times - i usually make custom brushes for different projects and switch between them often.
    Photoshop CC 14.2.1x64
    Windows 7 SP1
    thank you,
    -k

Like RK says.  You can turn on the Tool Presets panel from the Window menu.  It colapses to a single square, and I dock mine on the right side of the main monitor where you can toggle it to expand and colapse with a single click.
(The thin strip to the right of the icons is the left hand edge of my second monitor.)

  • Change zoom menu presets in photoshop cs4

is there a way to add more presets to the Zoom Preset Menu? by default it only has 25%, 50%, 100% and 200%. i would like to add a lot more so i could possibly get better zooming  experience with the wacom tablet wheel. as opposed to jsut scrolling through the 4 almost useless presets.
is there a file deep inside the app files that can be modified to add this settings maybe?

If you have a computer that can use OpenGL you can get infinitely variable zooming.
The presets are there because without OpenGL, the intermediate levels give a distorted rendering on screen.

  • Transfer camera raw preset to photoshop action

Hello everyone, do you know if it's possible to transfer the adjustments I did on Camera Raw / LightRoom to a Photoshop action?
    Thanks

Thanks very much Mylenium, I did that, but I ask myself if it's any way to do it via an action inside Photoshop, just to share it in this format.
In fact, I can more or less "imitate" LR's noise, luminance and shadow adjustments inside Photoshop, but it will be very helpfull if you can tell me a way to "imitate" the 8 color channels control panel of HLS present in LR / CR (red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, blue, purple, magenta) inside Photoshop.
You know, when going to Photoshop, the maximun number of channels I can find under Adjustments > Hue/Saturation is 6 (reds, yellows, greens, cyans, blues, magentas).
Maybe is there any conversion scheme or a plugin out there to transfer original data of LR's 8 color channels to PS's native 6 color channels?
    Thanks again!
