Prevent losing + sign on JTree

I have a jtree which is created on 'As needed' basis. i.e, when the user expands the particular node, I make a database call in TreeWillExpandListener and add the children to their parent.
Say, the user has clciked on the + sign besides the node and at that point of time the database is down and I get an exception. when I get the exception, the jtree assumes that there are no children and removes the +. Is it possible to prevent '+' being removed when I get exception from backend?
It would be great if someone has a quick fix for this cos I need this problem to be fixed fast.

Firefox and other browsers can only display email and web pages. The actual mail and the settings are all stored at and are received from the provider's end. You may have to change the settings to store a copy in the web mail (i.e. at the provider's end) even after being downloaded. I think it would be helpful to contact the provider or the provider's official support forums.

How do I prevent losing quality from HDV FCP 5 project to SD DVD?

Sorry to ask, but I'm new to DVDSP and not sure if I'm going about it the right way. I'm planning on using compressor to export my 30 minute HDV video from FCP 5, but wasn't sure of the best possible setting so I lose the least quality when making a SD DVD. I understand that loss will obviously occur, but does anyone have a preferred method?

Export the movie as uncompressed (not HDV) from FCP prior to encoding, it provided me with alot better results then exporting HDV then encoding that in any of my encoders I tried.
Also if you scale the exported movie in QT To 1/2 size then exported that it seemed to help speed up enncoding time/quality. (Scaling under 1/2 in QT gave poor results)

I tried to use your example in my code, but my page loads with error. I copied the jquery script to my /i location on server and included the script tag into the page template between the head tags. On the page I also copied the script from your example into page html header.
When displaying the page, i get a "Done, but with errors on page" message, with following details:
Line 21, char 4, Error: object expected, Code 0
I tried the latest jquery scpript available (jquery-1.3.1.min.js) and also the one from your example (jquery-1.3.1.min.js)
Can you give any tip, please.

How do I get my old iPhone 4g to work with a new computer without losing all data on it?

I bought a new MacBook Pro with Retna display to replace a dead gateway running Windows XP. My iPhone 4 was always connected to the old gateway and I synced to the iTunes on it. Now I have my new MacBook up and running and have logged into its new iTunes and synced my new iTunes to my Apple ID and to the apple store. Everything looks good in the new iTunes. Problem is now when I connect my old iPhone to the new computer it's iTunes warns of my iPhone data about to be erased. How can I prevent losing all my stuff. I don't want to lose all my text messages on the iPhone. What can I do to prevent losing everything from my phone?

So why do you suppose we get this awful warning when we connect our iPhone to a new computer that all data on the phone will be deleted if we continue? Furthermore why don't we get a further explanation as to what to do sat that point?
I can not stand warnings like this that make me feel like I have done something wrong, that somehow I may be violating my terms of service. All that legalize is not customer friendly. Apple has always impressed my more that any company with excellent personal customer service but this is not good the way they scare you when you honestly are trying to move to a new computer with your old iPhone.

I thought it was blank space but not.
How to remove it?since function TRIM can't remove it.

Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Won't let me sign into Youtube.

I got Adobe Premiere Elements 9 about a year ago from my brother's college and suddenly it won't let me sign into Youtube on 1 account. When I go to share>online>Youtube it takes me to a sign in and all of my logins work except 1. The password hasn't been changed and no one has been on my account but it says incorrect username and password so it won't let me sign in. I'm pretty sure this has only been happening since APE 10 came out.

I just got this email from Google. The troubleshooting steps only apply to a mail client. I'm pretty sure the unauthorised attempt, which contained the correct user naem and password, was Premiere Elements. I think Google has made me a victim of its ubiquity. As though managing passwrods were not already difficult enough.

No app store sign in, re-install?

My iteration of the Mac App store will not allow me to sign in.
I litterally do not get a sign in dialog of any type.
I'm wondering if there is a way to re-install the app store module to see if that restores sign in ability.

Yes, installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) will reinstall the App Store for you.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
If that didn't help, some third party apps like Little Snitch can prevent the Sign In window from appearing > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text

It seems that something like Zemantec would be ideal, but apparently it is only available for Windows. Is there something suitable for Mac? There are essentially three ways that a malicious hacker can "get into" your system (whether we're talking about keyloggers, malware, whatever)
- physical access
- persuading you to install software which gives them access (this could be disguised as something else)
- obtaining remote access by "hacking in through the internet"
Unless you have a file-sharing tunnel set up through your router, and your computer's file sharing is turned on, and you have no password (all these things seem unlikely based on your email), the third option is so unlikely that you can effectively ignore it. Having said that, if you have not checked those things recently, you should do so. Post back if you want help figuring out how to do that.
The latest versions of OS X are always recommended for people who are concerned with security. Not only because of the major features like Gatekeeper (prevents non-signed code from running, which effectively stops you accidentally running a malicious script) and XProtect (built in malware-checking), but because of the other security patches to the operating system and compatibility with third-party components like Java and Flash, which actually tend to have more known vulnerabilities.
Wiping the hard drive and reinstalling OS X, preferably updating to the latest version, turning on FileVault (the current version requires OS X 10.7 or later), seetting a strong login password, and setting a firmware password, would go a long way to setting a good level of security on your machine. Write down the passwords and hide them somewhere that you'll remember, or keep them on your person if you feel secure doing that.
Having said all that, if you don't trust the physical security of your house, then all this is largely academic.

IMAP mail accounts have a remote view of the emails on the server.
You 'subscribe' to see the contents of server folders.
Only the headers are downloaded and when you select an email the folder is copied to a temp cache to facilitate quicker access to that folder.
These emails are not stored on your computer.
If you choose to 'synchronize' folders, then a copy of the folder is downloaded to your thunderbird Profile folder.
This means you can view those emails when in offline mode. These emails are on your computer, BUT as these folders are set to synchronize, it means that folder can get updated by the server, if emails are removed off the server and you synch, you will see all of those emails disappear from Thunderbird to synch and match the server.
So the best method is to synchronize the folder to get emails onto your computer, then go into 'offline' mode so that Thunderbird cannot connect with server.
Then move those emails into suitable folders in Local Folders.
The 'Local Folder' folders will be stored on your computer and will not be efected by the IMAP mail account even when you later select to remove it.
You can use this addon to create a backup of Local Folder folders and emails and also synchronised folders in offline mode.
