Prevent start of java application

Hello,
We have stumbled into the following unfortunate situation:
Developement deployed a custombuild java application into the JAVA Webas.
After that the system will no longer start.
The developer then deleted the application jar files from the OS, causing the following error when we restart the Webas:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (503) Service Unavailable. The requested URL was:"http://TIL-HOSAP-62:50000/UMEGroupsWS/Config1?
Re- / undeploying the application failed.
Starting the Webas now hangs in the "starting applications" phase with the mentioned error message.
The application is no longer listed in Visual admin --> services\deploy\applications
Can we make a setting somewhere preventing the application from getting started so that we can at least start the Webas?
Or does anyone perhaps know of a manual undeployment method?
Regards,
Sander

Hi Nitin,
Unfortunately your response did not help me forward. I did find a deploy service parameter that supposedly allows you to prevent apps from starting:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/0e/fb29feebc73248a3d097a229a5d548/frameset.htm
However I have tried three different ways of specifying the application name without succes.

  • What is the recommended way to launch a web-start enabled Java application?

    Hello,
    I have a simple web-start enabled Java application, which I can launch from a brower by entering :
    https://xx.xx.x.xxx/MyApp/launch.html
    This method would show me a page. I then had to click on a link to run my application.
    I noticed that I could also launch my program by entering :
    https://xx.xx.x.xxx/MyApp/launch.jnlp
    This method would run my application right away.
    I wonder if there is a recommended way to launch/run a web-start enabled Java application?
    Thank you,

  • Could not start Sun Java Application Server

    Hi ,
    I have been using JSC for a while, now and then it reports an error " could not start sun java application server...". Does any one know why it s not able to start java application server..
    Before you say anything, I have tried
    1. use netstat to find any port conflicts.
    2. Tried to start application server manually
    3. shut down and start studio creator and then try running the project
    4. shut down and start PC
    unfortunately none of them helped
    Only reinstalling resolved the problem. But I cant keep reinstalling very often.
    Does any one know the permanent solution for this problem.
    Cheers

    Sometimes it appears this is a timeout issue because it's taking too long to come up. As Jonathan says, undeploy can help with this (along with his other suggestions).
    How many deployed projects do you see (in the server navigator you can open up the deployed server and see what's out there)?
    I periodically undeploy "junk" projects that I'm not really using because they slow down the server startup (same thing happens I believe for tomcat... when the server starts it has to load them all and it takes awhile). You can undeploy from within the server navigator by drilling into the server nav and right clicking on the deployed app and choosing undeploy... or you can use the server admin tool.

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to start / stop a java application as a windows 2000 service. But nothing appens (I can see the screen that rapidly display the java help prompt and then disappear)
    I've a working directory i.e C:\MyDir and it contains instsrv.exe, srvany.exe and my application jar MyApp.jar
    I'm using instsrv.exe to register a java application as a service ( C:\MyDir\instsrv MyApp C:\MyDir\srvany.exe )
    I've added a key in registry by running regedit
    The key is under the tree HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MyApp
    the key value is Parameters
    in the key I've added a string value "Application" with the value "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_01\bin\java.exe"

    How do I start to a application?I have the SDK but where do I go to start it I cant seem to find it.
    Thank you

    Get a basic java programming book.
    Maybe try something like JFrameBuilder which has a test version for free.
    Available at
    http://www.mars3000.com/
    You will then be able to generate some code easly that you can look at and see some simple examples.

    Could you tell me how to carry it out ? Thank you

    !!! Please give me a help! i am thirsty for itSo, to get this straight, you have a Java application in a jar. For some reason, you do not execute this directly. Are you aware that you can execute a jar directly without the need to write a C++ exe to do it?
    Anyway, for some reason, instead you have a C++ application which launches the JVM with your jar main class.
    Well, you want to do two things. First of all, on Windows level, you need to associate the file type of your user file with your application. Note that they have to have a specific file extension that you choose. To associate the file type with an executable, you open a windows explorer, go to View, Folder Options, File Types and add an entry for your file type and specify it to open with your application. If you do not know how to do this, google for "windows associate file type with program executable" or something alike.
    Now, if you double-click one of your user files, the associated exe will open, and it will receive the file name as a command line argument. In your C++ application, you will need to pass this argument, a file name, to the Java application where you launch it.

  • How to start a Java application on Mac OS

    Hello,
    I am not sure whether this post would be appropriate to this community, but with the hope to find the answer to the question we have I'll try:
    We are fairly new to Java Technology. We had the task to develop an application for Windows OS, and have successfully completed the job. BUT, we decided to go a bit further and see how our program would behave on Mac OS.
    Unfortunately, we have never dealt with Macs before, thus don't have any idea on how to make the application run on Mac OS platform.
    With Windows we have no problem, went by the most simple way by creating a .cmd file with "java name_of_file" string. Is there any similar simple way to start our small program on Mac OS?

    There are many options:
    From Terminal (similar to ms-dos prompt, if you didn't know it already):
    If you have "java MyApp" in your myapp.cmd, you can execute it with:
    sh myapp.cmd
    Another option is to set myapp.cmd as executable:
    chmod u+x myapp.cmd
    and then from Terminal: ./myapp.cmd
    Third and best option is to make an executable jar. Then you only have to double-click .jar -file to launch your application (and no need to go to Terminal).

  • Problem in starting Custom java application through opmnctl

    Here is the details of the problem that I am facing.
    I hava one self-executable jar file which I want to run each time the application server will start.
    I have taken this idea after getting info from iasdocs.us.oracloe.com.
    The name of the jar file is ClusterServer.jar.
    I have put it in the ompn/lib folder and edited the opmn.xml file with the following entry.
    <module path="ORACLE_HOME/opmn/lib/libopmncustom">
    <module-id id="CUSTOM" />
    </module>
    <ias-component id="Custom">
    <process-type id="Custom" module-id="CUSTOM">
    <process-set id="Custom" numprocs="1">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="start-executable" value="- Djava.security.policy=/home/oracleas/VSM/java.policy /home/oracleas/VSM/ClusterServer.jar"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    </process-set>
    </process-type>
    </ias-component>
    When I am starting the opmnctl startall , I can see the process as down.
    Can anybody help me if I am doing anything wrong.
    Thanks in advance
    Akshaya

    I don't have experinece with custom components in iAS but when you are starting this component via opmnctl then look at $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/log directory for reason of failure during starting that component.

  • How  can I start my Java Application using double-click  in Windows XP?

    I hava developed an editor in java. The file made by this editor is saved as the .cte format. so, I need to associate this file with the editor, which means that when you double click the .cte file ,this file will be opened in the editor just like the notepad.
    I know that Jbuider has used the JNI to achieve this way to open a project. So, will you kindly tell me the details about this technique or give me some document? My E_Mail is [email protected]
    Best Regards,
    Maria

    I think this can be done from a batch file which you can execute when you install your application.
    There are two commands which you are interested in, and they are:
    assoc - Displays or modifies file extension associations.
    ftype - Displays or modifies file types used in file extension associations.
    You should use assoc to associate an extension with a file type, and ftype to associate the file type with an application.
    E.g. jar is associated with this on my machine:
    .jar=jarfile (from assoc)
    jarfile="C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %* (from ftype)

  • Failed to start  java application server  8

    hi every body,
    hi every body,
    i am getting the famous error:
    " failed to start sun java application server 8 possible causes:
    -port conflict
    -incorrect server configuration(domain.xml need to be corrected manually)
    -corrupted deployed application preventing server to start (domain.xml needs to be modified) "
    the thing is that i know the cause of error it is the 3rd one since i had some exception while running a project and since on this error was appearing,and i didnt know how to solve this problem i.e how to edit the domain.xml file
    so i uninstaled and reinstaled the java cretor a number of times every time i face the problem, but the last time i did so the folder C:\Sun\Creator\SunAppServer8\domain that contains the file domain.xml was not even there and i dont know why did that happen or how to solve it
    please help,
    regards.

    i too have a similar problem - mine seems to be related to MySQL access but I cant find any help on the problem - surely there is a better way than to continually re-install - on the previous version i could work it out without a re-install but not with the update.
    i havent found anything in the server logs - they are huge docs - i cant see how it can be a port conflict as its ok 1 minute and not the next.
    i just need a pointer to where to look ?

  • How do I start and suspend Java Application from say C++ program

    I want to start a Java application via C++ and on some condition i want to suspend the same program not terminate , but suspend

    Have you tried running the virtual machine from your C++ application ? You can start Java applications from your C++ application using JNI after starting the Virtual machine from within your C++ application. According to the Java documentation you can even now stop the virtual machine from within your C++ program.
    I haven't looked at the 'suspend' detail but I suppose it will not be a problem to call a method via JNI to set a flag to suspend a thread etc.
    There is a tutorial: 'Invoking the Java Virtual Machine' at the following URL: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/invoking/invo.html.
    This example seems to work only for version1.1 of the JDK. For JDK1.3, version 1.2, (I am not so sure whether I fully understand Sun's version numbers for Java yet) there is some updates on the JNI for starting the VM from C++. This article is called 'JNI Enhancements'. The URL for this article is:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3.0/docs/guide/jni/jni-12.html
    You have to set version to: JNI_VERSION_1_2
    There is only one problem. I get an error when calling JNI_CreateJavaVM from C++. I could not find any documentation that indicates how you can go about diagnosing what is causing the problem. Normally in Visual C++ you can just get the probable cause by inspecting GetLastError() or the function itself can return helpful diagnostic (error) codes.
    If you manage to start the VM correctly from within Visual C++ please let me know. My email address is [email protected]
    good luck

  • Start java application from java program

    My problem is the following:
    I start a java application A that allows you to select a couple of .java files.
    After having choosen them, the application adds some additional information to these .java files (that means some more lines of code we call it infecting the java files).
    After the files have been infected, I want to start the application B implemented by these choosen and infected .java-files (without a new start of the Java Virtual Machine)
    For doing so, we use the following method whichs works quite fine:
    public static void ExecuteWithInvoke(String path, String classname)
         try
              new URLClassLoader(new URL[] {new File(path).toURL()})
                   .loadClass(classname).getMethod("main",
                   new Class[] { String[].class }).invoke(null,
                   new Object[] { new String[] {} });
         catch (Exception e)
         {e.printStackTrace();}
    The only problem that occurs:
    When the application B is launched, the old version of the choosen .java files is used and not the current, already infected version of these files. (I guess because the old .class files are used.)
    I solved this problem by finishing the program A after the infecting and restart my application B manually. In this case the infected .java files are used (I guess the new Start of the Java Virtual Machine solves my problem by reloading the new .class files)
    How can I reach to start my application with the mentioned method but with the infected .java files and without having a new start of the JVM ??
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance
    Sorry for my English, its a long time since I quit school

    Hello,
    my problem of reloading classes is still unsolved although you tried to help me!
    Therefore I posted a little program to illustrate our difficulty.
    It would be nice if somebody could have a look at this program.
    We have a file Testdatei.java whose only method is the main method.
    I get the class object of this file and with the help of Reflection the declared methods.
    Evereything works fine so far.
    Then I change the content of this file by adding an additional method a() (see change() for this).
    Now I delete the old class file and I compile Testdatei.java again (see compileJava()) and once more I get the class object for this changed file. Afterwards I get the declared methods for this class via reflection.
    But instead of showing now the methods main() and a() Reflection still only shows the method main().
    I guess the changed class has not been reloaded!!
