'Previous Item' in Forms6/6i

I have an Item which has a Reqired propety set to TRUE ( base table column NOT NULL).
After entering this Item how do we go to the previous Item without validating.
The Help-Keys show Shift+Ctrl+Tab and Shift+Tab. This doesn't work.
In Forms 4.5 the Previous Item was Shift+Tab.
It was working fine.
I am using the Latest version of Forms6i.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

use Set_Item_Property(item_id, ITEM_IS_VALID, property_true) or similar!
otherwise set in the attribute-palette of this item REQUIRED FALSE and check it in the Trigger ON-VALIDATE-RECORD or ON-COMMIT

Get previous items unique value in new add item form

Hi
I have on list having items related to multiple locations.
Every location is related to one user.
When user logs in it filters the list with that users location.
Now when user click on add new item I want to get the data related to his location using item event listener.
But in new item form there is no way to get the location of that user in event listener as its new item.
So I passed the qury string parameter form list and changed the add item form link and form to get the query string paramter as default value in Add new Item form.
But again when user clicks on save button it redirects to original url without paramter.
How to redirect user to url with parameter on click on Save/Cancel.
Is there any other way to get the previous item unique value in add new item from before executing the event listener?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to redirect user to url with parameter on click on Save/Cancel.
You need to modify the onclick event need to as below:

In addition, you can creating an intermediate page which just finds the filed value with a DVWP and then redirect to RedirectURL with the filed value on the Query String.

How can I get the value of the previous item

Hi,
I have a block with some records in it.
I want to capture the value of the previous item of the cursor position
for eg I have emp_no, and emp_name
If I click emp_name it goes to different block ang brings up emp info. for that particular employee. but to get that I need emp_no
I'm taking emp_name by giving
emp_name := system.cursor_value
how can I capture emp_no value

How to tab back to the previous item in sql form 3.0?

Oraterm defines the keys for specific functions, e.g. F7 = Enter Query, F8 = Execute Query. Oracle has a standard list, but most applications redefine the keys.
In Help -> Show Keys look for Previous Item to see which key to use (maybe Ctl-Tab or Shift-Tab).
In Forms 3, if I remember correctly, Show Keys is Ctrl-K by default.

I just downloaded a few tv show and the 'info' / 'description' section has not downloaded for the episodes...on previous items it has downloaded just not the recent few? Any ideas why?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know whether it would affect the existed in-progress workflow if updated the workflow action.
It would no effect when you updated the action if the workflow had been executed.
When you start the workflow, the workflow had been executed, when you publish a new version workflow, it would has no effect for the started workflow.
It only work for the items which executed the workflow after publishing the new version workflow.
If you stop the workflow for the in-progress items, then you restart the workflow, it would start the updated workflow.

How to check the previous item value in a multirecord block

Hi all,
Good morning to all,I have a multi-record block in a form where one of the items values is been selected from LOV.user can only select the value from LOV.
If once user selects the value from LOV and moves to the next record of multi-record and again selects the value from LOV,i should not allow users to select the previous value from the user so that duplication of records is avoided.
and important note is that i should achieve this before saving it into the database because once saved in the database i can compare the values and hide the previous value.
Any help will be appreciated.

Don't want to view previous items in month view

Hi guys,
I don't use iCal for much, but I'm trying to make a simple calendar of events. There are several events, and they last for a month and a half or so each. I've created the event and I'm having it repeat until the specified date.
Let's say the first event I created is the color blue. The problem is, in the month following the event's beginning, the first day of that month in month view has a bunch of blue dots cluttering it up, representing the previous events contained in the previous month. I don't want to see all of this. Is there a preference to turn this off? Or perhaps a better way to create long lasting events?

for example i have x , y , z , a , b , c , d ,l m regions
y and z in horizontal in first row
b and c in vertical in first column

Shared Variable in DETAILS section reports value of previous item.

I have a report with a subreport in the details section. I have set up a shared variable in the subreport to pass a value to the main report. For some reason, the value of the variable for the first detail line item, shows up in the field for the second, the value for the second shows up in the third and this pattern repeats. How can I get the shared variable to display in the correct record?

It's because the data in the details line is evaluated/diplayed before the subreport executes.
Split the details into two sections and place SR in top one and display formula for var in lower one.
If there is data in the subreoprt you want on same line as the var then in section expert set the upper detail section to underlay.

Process Only Works with Previous Item Name

I have a textarea item on my page, and a process that submits the text in that item to a column in a table. I decided to rename the item, and so then I changed the name of the item in the PL/SQL process as well; however, for some reason the process only works when I put the original item name in the PL/SQL of the process. Is this some kind of glitch, or am I really doing something wrong? The PL/SQL process is a very simple one and the problem may be able to be fixed by simply deleting it and recreating it again, but it would be nice to know how to prevent this in the future.

That is correct, I did do it all within a single session. I've made changes like this before without the same error, but they mostly involved using the item name with reports, not processes - which was the case here. Anyway, this is the only time I experienced this error with this much confidence that I had made all the correct changes, so I thought it may be an issue you were aware of. I'll be sure to try the logging out & back in part if I experience this in the future. Thanks.

Issue with Disabling one of the menu item in Forms6i

I have a requirement where I need to disable the IR/PO Information (menu item) created using Form Personalization in Sales Order form.
If the Warehouse is other than ‘FIM’ it should be disabled for that particular line.
Please let me know if anybody has done the similare requirement???

Bala,
I can suggest one work around.
Say your menu entry is special1.
You probably already have a personalization that fires for trigger event = special1.
You can add a condition in that personalization that says warehouse=FIM.
This way, the PO information screen will come up only for FIM.
You can consider creating a new personalization that fires for same trigger event = special1.
The condition says warehouse != FIM
In the actions, you can say "This menu option is not available"

I can only open to-days downloads not previous items, why not all of them?

When using downloads I can open all current day items but when attempting to open any prior downloads then I get no response.

Are you trying open from the Firefox download manager ?
Because maybe you changed the directory of the download or you can transfered the file to other folder, try go to the download folder and open through there

How to delete the Monitor Previous Items list ?

I have in my monitor menu, the one in the menu bar, 2 lines : 1920x1080 60 Hz Millions
Call them Last and Last-1
When I use Last-1 all my display becomes a bit blurred, specially the fonts in all apps.
But it is LAST which has the check mark... ??
When I use Last, everything is ok, and it has the check mark.
From the prefs panel, selecting the same values and it is Last which will have the check mark, so it is ok and working.
I would like to delete the history for the monitor list.
I have search in the library without success...

As far as I can tell the recent settings for displays is stored in this file:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.displays.0017f20 dca84.plist
Unfortunately I can't be positive that's the right plist, because the entry for recentModes is just a very cryptic number. But of the plists that change when I altered the settings for the monitor, that is the only one that actually had an entry at all for recent modes. You can try deleting it, then go to System Prefs and redo your monitor settings and see what happens.
I was unable to find any file that had the list of resolutions I see when I select Displays from the menu bar.
