Print button on WAD template

Hi,
Presently we are in BW 3.5 version with support pack 22. We enhanced the html code based on ' How to ... Web printing with MS Excel' document. We imported the transport file which contains package and ABAP Classes.
After click on the print button on Web report, it was giving the same result area in the same page instead of giving the excel open or save options.
How to debug the enhanced html code in the WAD template? How to check the ABAP class('ZCL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINT') which i used in the
code?
Or is there any way to print the result area of Web report?
Please help me.

Hi,
We have a custom web template and are trying to provide a print PDF option for end-users. We created a button, and are using the export web application command. In data binding, we are selecting some analayis items and text items for printing, but only the analysis items (queries) are getting printed to PDF, the text items are not getting printed.
Can you tell me how to print the text items? Is there a better way to get the print functionality?

Problem with Information button in WAD

Dear Mates,
I have a problem with Information button in WAD template.
I have two queries in web template. those two queries are in two tabs( i used Tabstrip ) respectively.
if i press first tab it shows query1 and if i press second tab it shows query2 absolutely.
problem
when i am in first tab, if i click information it will show information about query1, but when i am in second tab,
if i click information it will show information about query1 only..
i need it to show information about second tab.
Please help. Its urgent. Full Reward points will be given.

Informative message to be displayed in WAD template

Hi,
I am executing a process chain on the click of a button in WAD template.
This process chain has an ABAP variant that gives an informative message on completion.
When i execute this program independently, I am able to see the message but when i execute the process chain through WAD template i cannot see that message.
Can you please help me to show the message in WAD template.

How to call a help file from a WAD Template button

Hi All
I need to implement a button in a web template when I press the button it displays another HTML or text file it is mainly on help on the report.
I am just wondering how to store this HTML or text file in the system and what function to implement in the web template button ti display this text or HTML when the button is pressed.

Please try this out:
With WAD 3.5 it's easy. You could use javascript function: window.open().
window.open("/sap/bw/Mime/Customer/.../file.htm","NewWindow","width=750,height=700,left=100,top=100");
Try using the SCRIPT Item in WAD 7.0. You can use the same code within the SCRIPT Item and call the function which has been defined in the Script Item, in the XHTML part of the Template.
It may help.
Or put the file in another web template and on click of a button, the new template opens up and displays the content of the file.
Not sure though if the latter one would be useful, its just a thought.

Javascript to Execute a button or planning function onload of WAD template

How do I call a javascript to execute a planning function or a button that has a planning function.
I tried creating a script using script web item and wizard to execute a planning function. The wizard generated a javascript function that has two parameters currentState, defaultCommandSequence
I can call the function inside the body tag using OnLoad but what parameters do I need to pass for currentState and defaultCommandSequence.
Is there any other way of doing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Whatever u hav done is correct. There is no need to transfer any values for the parameters
currentState and defaultCommandSequence .
They r automatically derived based upon the current state of ur WAD template and the sequence of commands that you executed till now..

Print button on Web report.

Hi gurus,
We were trying to add a print button on Web report for printing the result area on the Web report.
We followed the steps which has given in the How-to-guide How To Web Printing with Microsoft
Excel document.
In the document it has mentioned that
1. Support package should be above 19 for BW 3.5 version
2. Add HTML code in the WAD Template
3. Import Transport file into the System.
4. Apply OSS notes 736568 and 737082 to BW
We upgraded the support package to 22, added the html code in the WAD template, imported the transport file into the BW system and applied the OSS notes as per the mentioned in the document.
The transport file contains the Package u201CZPK_WEB_PRINTING_WITH_EXCELu201D and ABAP Classes u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_GRIDu201D,
u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINTu201D,

After import the transport file into BW, some of the objects in the ABAP Classes were not activated. I was trying to activate manually but those were not activating.

Define java script code to print the page
for ex define a button and call function for print.

Printing in BW WAD 7.0

Hi All,
We are having reports in WAD. Now users wants to have Printing functionality from the same template.
It means , we have to give either a Button or a Link , so that by clicking on the that , user can directly open Print window(which we open from windows File menu: File --> Print).
How can i achive this in WAD. I have to change my current template of WAD.
Please tell me the steps to achive this. We are using WAD 7.0.

Hi James,
First create a button in ur template and give it a command "Start Broadcaster[LAUNCH_BROADCASTER".
To do this first select the Start Broadcaster[LAUNCH_BROADCASTER] command which is in the 'Commands for Web Templates' in All Commands tab.
Then click on next and select the Distribution type as Broadcast To Printer[PRINT].

Print options for WAD

Hello All
My WAD template has mutiple queries inserted into it: total of 5 queries. The template works fine, but when I try to print it.. only one among the 5 queries shows up in the 'print preview'. What is the property that I need to change to see all the query results in the 'print preview'??

Thanks Ian and Andrey for your suggestions. I had researched on it and found the same solution.. use my own Button Grp with binding option. Now, I have all the necessary objs on my printout.. except for the 'Company Logo'.
Now, I read other thread where the suggestion is to copy and change the 0ANALYSIS_PROCESS_TEMPLATE. Is there a better way of capturing the 'Company Logo' on my printout??

Creating a print button to call a Report Query and pass filters

If i use the REPORT QUERY option in APEX 4 to create an statement that is the same one used in an interactive report, can I create a link or button to the REPORT QUERY and pass all the session and filter information from the interactive report to the report query?
This way I can have the interactive report screen where the user can do all sorts of modifications and such and then pass those to the REPORT QUERY so I can call that from a custom link or button.
You may ask "why does he need another print button?"
Answer: I am using a view that has some embedded HTML tags to format the output really nicely. The HTML download version created by the interactive reports works beautifully. The customer also wants a PDF version (meh) which does not render the HTML tags and actually echos them as part of the text. I found that I can create another view that uses the CHR function to create all the breaks and such I was doing with HTML and these do render properly in PDF. So, I figured just have 2 reports: 1 Interactive and 1 using a REPORT QUERY. I just want to call the REPORT QUERY version but use the Interactive Search form to set all the parameters.
Or, am I over thinking this and there is an easier method?
I made a previous post where I showed how I got the APEX printing to work and i hoped that helped someone out - fixing this issue would put the whole thing to rest.

Is BI Publisher desktop (MS Word add-in) a possibility? This would allow you to use MS Word to create your output template (RTF) that would result in a properly formatted PDF. Of course, you'd have to right an updated version of the query without HTML embedded. Just thinking outside of the box.

Adding PRINT Button on a List Item Page

Hi,
We have an existing custom list for our asset tracking. We are required to make the list item's page printable by adding a "PRINT" button on it. Currently, a list item's page has a "Close" button together with the following tabs such as: "New Item", "Edit Item", "Delete Item", "Manage Permissions", and "Alert Me". "Print" button should be like the "Close" button. Once the "Print" button will be click then a "Print" window will appear to select the printer to use. It will print only the list item's content and not the whole page.
Is there anyone who implemented as what describes above? Please help me how to implement this.

I checked it and it was almost the same with Andre's posting. I did not try to install since as i understand, i need to do it in the server that hosted our portal which i'm afraid of doing it. I'm not an advanced user of sharepoint so i'm very careful of doing changes or enhancement to our portal.

Print button too far over in look 4 report custom look

How do you move over the print button in the custom look 4 option in templates.
I am using blue gray and then for report template look 4.
I noticed in other templates that you can modify the after rows but I don't know where look 4 or other templates like that are stored.

Has anyone worked with templates that can be of assistance?

Please try with CMD: REFRESH_DATA. You can find this under 'Commands for Planning Application'.
Otherwise, you can take Action as : SCRIPT_FUNCTION and give "javascript:location.reload(true)" under Script Function.

Can we include common buttons in Page template......

we are on the process of developing a product using ADF. Now we have implemented a page template. Most of our pages contain the common buttons like [SAVE,DELETE,UPDATE,CANCEL,PRINT].
I am entirely new to this area. Can anyone advise whether we can include this buttons in page template. How can we differentiate the actions from these buttons in each page. While including the page level validations whether this makes any performance impact compared to put buttons in each page seperately.

Hi,
We're having a problema when we're trying to download to PDF from a WAD Template.
We use the same functionality to download to Excel butt here we have no problem.
When we press the button to Download from PDF we get the following message:
