Print iCal Event Notes ("info")

I couldn't believe that my version of iCal (1.5.5 with Panther) can print a calendar, but cannot print the Event Notes from the "info" pane, with the calendar...
Tell me it's not true!
Presumably, a calendar user would use the Event Notes (in the "info" pane) to record important detail about an event: the doctor's office address and phone(s), the conference call number and passcode, and such...
Can Tiger's iCal 2 do this?

I haven't figured it out either - kind of makes it worthless to print if you can't see the details, only the header. and you can't iSync the details to a phone or PDA either. huge miss on apple's part if we're not missing something....

  • Printing iCal events in order

The Apple-provided iCal Applescript, Create Event Summary, has an issue: (when printing the events of this month) it does not print the events in date-time order, but jumbles that order. How is that Ascript determining the order it does show, and how can I change that to the date-time order? (Using iCal 2.0.3)

Thanks, however I think the iCal list print includes
all dates whether they have any events or not. My
You can specify time range for printing, to print weekly events you specify:
    Starts on date: mm/dd/yy
    Ends after: 7 days
purpose here is to print a schedule of weekly events
without the extraneous dates. I think the script is
supposed to address this shortcoming of iCal print
view. I've edited the script so I can specify any
period, such as 120 days. I just can't spot the place
in the script where the order of printing events is
determined. For that matter, when I'm feeling
ambitious, I have a notion of printing the events as
rows in a table-like format-- is that possible?
It's quite complicated, especially for repeated events. se this thread:

  • ICal Events not showing in Outlook Calendar

I'm new to iCal. My Mail and iCal are now synched up with my work's Outlook Exchange.
The problem: My events entered in Outlook's Calendar ARE showing up in my iCal, but events entered in iCal ARE NOT showing up in my Outlook Calendar.
    Whither wrong am I going?

Bumping this in case someone can help...:)

  • Ical events not displaying correct time zone

    Hi All,
I have a weird issue and I'm not sure if it's an iCal or an entourage problem. When one of our Entourage2008 (exchange) users sends a meeting invite to a user in a different time zone using ical, the meeting shows in ical as the time the entourage user who created it, aka not adjusting for the time zone. Entourage to outlook calendar or another entourage calendar works fine, and iCal to iCal works fine; just not Entourage to iCal. Also, a calendar event from the iCal user to the Entourage user does adjust correctly for the time zone difference, which is why i'm exactly sure where the problem lies. I did post in the mactopia forums too so please don't yell at me for posting an 'entourage' problem in a mac forum. any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
i'm on 10.5.7 with the latest updates for mac os x and the latest office for mac updates, and we are running off a hosted exchange server. we've experienced the same issue whether we have iCalis ("turn on time support") option enabled in iCal or not enabled.

It's annoying as it should not be this complicated. I've implemented a work around, but it's not ideal. I have entourage running but not open, and have sync services set to sync with ical. A new invite comes into mac mail, the user clicks on the ics file (which opens entourage calendar), accepts the meeting, and closes the entourage window. The correct time is in entourage calendar, and then syncs with ical and the meeting has the correct time for that time zone.
If anyone has found a real fix for this problem, please let me know.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one Jim.

  • E-mail links from iCal event - not working in Yosemite

My workflow has always depended on dragging e-mails from Mail to iCal
This generates link in ical event "Show in mail" - giving me option to find the e-mail with one click from iCal
Since Yosemite install the links go wrong!
I can generate several events from several e-mails and all links point me to the same random e-mail. I haven't yet found clear pattern in this randomness, but it seems to link to the first mail-to-iCal created after sleep/restart, but not always...
    Anybody experiencing similar bug?
Tried "mailbox" > "rebuid" with no result.
    Any more ideas?
I'm on MB Pro 2009 using POP-accounts for mail but the random-link behavior is just same when dragging mails from my icloud account.

Well it's good news i'm not alone in this - frustrating indeed!
Searching for solutions with no result so far.
I've been migrating my user library from one opsys to other since Leopard i guess, so probably i should just do a clean install one day - this MUST help
My workaround after a week of being just unable to manage my incoming information was to use Notes
Dragging emails to notes content still works, and in a way i kind of like it - u can keep a single note with several links to different emails etc. At least for now it seems like a decent substitute. Organizing notes to folders is helpful too, but i guess you can't organize folders in iOS which is really bad.
So - still hoping to move back to my iCal

  • Past iCal events not appearing on my new iPhone 5s.

Past iCal events appear on my Macbook Pro Cal, iCloud Cal online and my iOS 6 iPad but not on my new iOS 7 iPhone 5s. Ive checked all my Calendars in the Calendar app but still no joy.
I saw a past post about changing the name of the event and that will re sync it. I've tried it and it does work, but i've got hunders of past events from the last 3 years that i need to view.
    Any ideas??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Contacts
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
    Calendars
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • German dates and "add iCal event" not working

I have a german formatted date in a mail (like 01.08.2008 = October, 1. 2008) and Mail does recognize this as a date. But when I select "add iCal event", the popup shows the date 08.01.08 (= January, 8. 2008). This only happens with days <= 12. When there is a date like 25.01.2008 everything works fine.
Does anyone know how I can get this to work correctly? The global language settings are all set to the correct german format (= default settings for Germany after a clean install of Leopard).

ERRRR the eighth month is August ???
I reported this a bug to Apple in October 2007.
but anyway 01.08.2008 = 01 Aug 2008 in every calender system EXCEPT US I believe.
If I create an email and just type 01.08.2008 in it, iCal does the US format - ie 1st Jan 2008 BUT try typing 01/08/2008 and my UK spec setup converts that to 01 Aug 2008, this bug has been partially fixed by 10.5.2
Hope this helps while Apple fixes the rest of the bug.

  • Why do iCal events not save changes?

Changes I make to events in iCal (renaming, adding alarms etc) never save first time, I always have to re-enter the same info and it will save properly the second time. No matter how much, or what I change, this always happens. It's not a deal breaker, just annoying. Can anyone help me to get it to stop doing this? These are just events in my own calendar, not ones I am sharing with other people. Thanks

This is exactly what we're having trouble with right now! Adobe Send Ideas, please update and/or fix this soon!

  • Why are my iCal events not the same across views?

Help!  I've been editing my iCal in Month view and everything looks great... but then I look at the day view (or week, whatever) and it's not the same.  For example, in Month view for July 2 - I have one event scheduled from 8:30-noon.  Then I look at the day view... and there are 8 different events!  Most of them duplicates of different things that I had at one time or another deleted or changed.  Why didn't the "clean up" work that I did in the month view carry over to day or week view?  In fact the opposite, there are more things in day or week views than I ever created.
Recently upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard.  Recently changed from mobileme to iCloud.  I only have iCal set to my iCloud account (no "on my mac" iCal calendar data). So the problem I see when editing on my MacBookPro is also seen when logged into iCloud directly via Safari and on my iPhone, iPad, etc.  At first I thought this was an iCloud syncing error because I only noticed the difference on my phone (list view)... but when I went back to my MacBookPro I realized the problem exists there too... so doesn't seem to be a syncing error, but rather a "view" error... then the "problem" is mirrored everywhere.
I've tried "refresh" and "refresh all" from the Calendar drop down menu.  This does nothing to help the problem... not that I really expected it would.
Thanks for any help you can provide.  I'm going crazy!
    Mac OS X 10.7.4; iCal 5.0.3

Fixed my own problem.  Ultamately a user error but tied to the many threads about the month view defaulting events to "all day" vs. hourly increment.  I knew that was the case, so when editing events from month view I made sure to add/change the time, but negected to look at "To" date.  If my event was for an hour, simply adding the hour pushed the day to span across dates so the event was really 25 hours.  Looked OK in the month view (just showed as a dot) but the day and week were all filled and casued the event to appear twice on the second day in list view (iPhone).  In the case of repeat events, sometimes "To" date ended up as the end date for the repeat cycle... which really messed every thing up... I believe causing what looked like duplicates, etc.

  • ICal events not showing

Ever since I upgraded to OS Mavericks, some of my events are not showing up on iCal in the month view, particularly Sunday events that start at 12:00AM.

Instead of syncing ALL calendars, I selected a few and then synced. After syncing, I selected "Sync ALL" and all my calendars were sent to iPhone successfully. Hope this helps.

  • Ical events not showing in iCloud calander

I have enabled icloud calander on my imac, iphone 3 gs and MacBook Pro. All the iCal calanders are working fine on each device, when I creat an event on one device, it shows up on all the others.
The problem is that when I log into iCloud, via safari, and try to use the on-line iCloud calander it is blank and has none of my events in it. I have seen lots of references to calanders being "on my Mac" and I think that may be the issue, but personally I have not seen any calander anywhere on my devices listed as being "on my Mac". (The only place I ever see this status is on my mac mail boxes)
Another solution I see people talking about is to "merge" calanders. I cannot find a merge button anywhere and have not seen it listed as an option in any of my efforst with iCloud or iCal. (I have used it with my contacts where I got the option to merge my iphone contacts with iCloud contacts)
I am using mavericks on my iMac, and OSX 10.8.5 on my MBP.
I have been at this now for about 4 hrs....driving me nuts.
I also have difficulty understanding why I have so  many calanders listed, one for each email address. I'm only one guy, I can only be in one place at one time. Why would I need multiple calanders?
I've also seen people saying to set iCloud calander as your main or default calander. I do not see any option anywhere to set one calander as th

Sorted it myself. You have to untick all the calanders on the left sidebar, except the "ICloud" one. I've disabled all the other calanders. Still don't understand why there is a calander listed for each email address. What's the connection between email addresses and calanders?

  • ICal events not showing in calendar

I have an issue syncing iCal with my iPhone. I do believe it is an iCal problem though.
Some events in iCal don't get synced to the iPhone and one event that does not show up in iCal shows up on the iPhone after sync.
Does anybody have any suggestions for troubleshooting iCal? Maybe repairing the iCal database? Tracing down problem events/calendars?
    Thanks

Instead of syncing ALL calendars, I selected a few and then synced. After syncing, I selected "Sync ALL" and all my calendars were sent to iPhone successfully. Hope this helps.

  • ICal events not retaining details...

in new events I'm creating. It's loosing the times, time zone, and alerts. All my old events still have this info, but not today for some reason. I've rebooted and checked various prefs. So, to "mark this discussion as a question," ***? is going on?

    Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application uninstaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • ICal event notes -- no worky

I am looking for help with this question:
After using iCal fine for about 8 months, I can no longer add notes under individual events.
These same events DO show the notes in my iPhone after syncing with my computer.
    Any idea why?
    Thanks,
    HeyeFlier

Actually, the notes field is the event's "description". The text in the calendar view is the event's "summary".

  • ICal events not showing on month view

    Hi everyone,
I have been facing a strange problem with iCal: some events (random), despite they sync fine with my gcal, will appear only in day or week view, never in month view. This is extremely annoyning as one can miss an appointment or book two meetings at the same time. Anybody got this problem and found/know a solution to this? Thanks a lot
macbook pro, lion 10.7.2 iCal 5.0.1

    Hi again:
I just found out a simple solution for this issue. The problem is certainly an iCal bug and hopefully this will be fixed soon.
So, I just clicked on iCal preferences, set up monday as the starting day of the week and voila! The events are just there!
However, if you set it back for Sunday, events will be hidden again. Let's wait for this fix.
    Cheers.
