Print Image in Oracle Report

I have an scan image in my report. I can see the image in the Layout editor but when the report runs all that comes out is a blank piece of paper. The image does not print.
The version of reports is 2.5. Does anyone have any idea why the image does not print.
Thank You
JK

Hi
If you are using a scan image (which is a bit map)in rep 2.5 and run them through oracle applications 11 and below you may have do lot of system level programming to support bit map images, because oracle apps 11 and below are charter based they do not support bit map. There may be a work around I had been trying for the past 2 years. But with apps 11i and rep6i this is possible.

  • Displaying Image in Oracle Reports 9i Web view

I can not just display the image in the web view of the Oracle reports version 9i. It is displaying in the paper layout view though. It is a database field queried with all other columns. Can somebody please tell me how to do this?

    Hi Ujjal,
Search for a line similar to the one shown below in your report's web source (that is, the code that shows the image) - it will be in the data area generated by the Report Wizard:
    <td <rw:headers id="HFadphoto241" src="HBadphoto241"/> class="OraCellText"><rw:field id="Fadphoto241" src="ad_photo" nullValue=" "> F_ad_photo </rw:field></td>
You need to change it to the following:
    <td <rw:headers id="HFadphoto241" src="HBadphoto241"/> class="OraCellText"><rw:field id="Fadphoto241" src="ad_photo" nullValue=" " containsHtml="yes"> F_ad_photo </rw:field></td>
    Notice the addition of:
    containsHtml="yes"
    Navneet.

I have created an oracle report which has to incorporate an image in it. I have created a link file and gave the image path in the property inspector. It was working fine. but my manager wants me to import the bmp file to the report. Can anybody help me how to do that.
    Thanks in advance,

    I have solved it myself.
    To import an image:
In the Paper Layout view, choose InsertImage and click the type of object you want to import.
In the dialog box, specify the name and format of the file. Click OK.
Move the object to the desired position.

I'm using reports 6i, i forgot to mention that earlyer on.
the problem is more sutible then that, you se i have to be able to handle multible page invoices, and i have to be able to only print the GIRO part on the last page, so as long as i only have single page invoices, theres no problem BUT i also have to handle mulitible page invoices.
a GIRO is the lower fourth of the invoice, it makes is possible for customers to rip off the giro card(perforated line) and use it to pay the bill, in a bank or postoffice.
i hope that makes the problem clearer.

One solution would be to scan the image of the pre formatted page into the computer and set it as the background for your report.
Then just position the frames and fields you need on the image.
You can also use the rullers at the side of the report to exactly put each field where you need.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • Printing images with Crystal Report 9

I am trying to create a Crystal report with images (and text) drawn from my collections management database (EMu), but the images have a poor quality that they are unrecognizable.  The EMu images are jpegs 800 (h) x 682 (w) pixels.  The tech people at EMu tried their best to resolve the problem, but finally decided the problem must lie in either how Crystal imports the images, or what it does with them afterwards.  Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how might we resolve it?
    thanks,
    Camelia

We inserted the image as an OLE Object>Media Clip>moved it to back
The Emu images are imported on my local drive; when I open the pictures they look ok, only after I run the reports with Crystal the quality of the pictures deteriorates.

  • Oracle Reports 6i - image do not show on html

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Reports 6i, on Windows 2000.
I am running the reports from a Java Web application using RWServlet. The reports are just fine if I use PDF as DESFORMAT, but the images are not shown if the DESFORMAT is html.
The architecture is with the application running on a different server than the Reports Server and the Oracle 8i database, which reside on the same machine.
    Any idea, why?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Whew...lot's of questions...let's see if I can help (at least a little)...
    1. Quite possibly, the user is/was pulling the image from the database? I do this in my environment, so it might be worth a look.
    2. You should be able to print in any format from the web. You may need to adjust your destype/desname/desname parameters.
    3. Only thing I can think of here is that maybe the original report was not written using a standard web-friendly font?
    4. There's a couple of ways you can get data into an excel file:
    A. Use DDE and poke the data right into it (messy when you need to print the regular Oracle report too).
    B. Add an option to print to file and set the desformat to DELIMITEDDATA. Be sure to go through the data model and set Exclude from XML Output to 'Yes' for fields you don't need. Also, be aware that this may not come out in the same order as they do on the printed report. You can read about this on Metalink.
Hopefully that helps you a little bit. :)

  • Oracle Reports 6i -- Image embeded, formatting PDF, Excel

I am using Oracle Reports 6i on Windows 2000. I run the reports from a Java application, using the RWServlet, passing in the URL all the parameters needed.
Now I need to run from my application oracle reports created by somebody else. Initially those reports were run from a client/server application in the client's Report Runtime environment. And I need at my turn to create others with the same look and feel.
The existent reports do not appear to use any template.
I was going through the Oracle Reports documentation, but I still have to clarify some things.
    Here there are my questions:
    1.- The company logo image
I found in the Layout Model/Main Section/Margin an image object, but I looked in the Property Palette and there is no path to the image, just under Boilerplate there is a object of Type Image.
How does the report know what to embed in the report's header?
2.- Printing reports in different formats: i.e. PDF
When the reports are run in the client/server Report Runtime environment, the user can print the report in different formats including PDF, Delimited, XML, etc.
Is there a way to print the report in PDF or any other format from my web application that uses the RWServlet?
3.- Report appearance in the browser
Run in the browser the report loses formatting as opposed to client/server.
Is there a way to make the report look good through some sort of general configuration, or should I fix each element that doesn't look god in Live Previewer, or somewhat else?
    4.- Report in Excel
Is it possible to save the report to an Excel file or to generate it in Excel from Oracle Reports?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

  • Oracle Reports Printing issue

I have multiple printing issues with Oracle Reports developed in 10g. Please help me to resolve the issue.
    1. Even though i set ORIENTATION to landscape, it is printing Portrait .
I have tried the below options
    1. I SET ORIENTATION AS landscape Under Data Model, System Parameters
    2. I have tried to pass ORIENTATION=landscape from the Keymap File
    3. I have tried to set ORIENTATION=landscape Under Paper layout Main,Header and Trailer Sections.
    2. Always the report is trying to fit in a single page (Width wise) which is annoying the user. I want to set Scaling instead of fit to a single page. How will i achieve this?
i was trying to display the reports in SPREADSHEET Format.
    Thanks for all your Help.

  • Oracle Reports 6i Delimied Format and Carriage Returns

    Hi
I'm using Oracle Reports 6i to generate a report to a text file using delimited format so I can read it in Excel. I've done some testing putting some information in the layout but it seems that all my data is generated in one line. It does not generate the carriage return for the multiple rows I need. Is this standard functionality?. If so, that means I have to generate the file using PL/SQL to get the control I want?

  • Hide number (or format number) on Oracle Report with Barcode

    Hi al !
i have done a example about print Barcode on Oracle Report
    with help link :
    However
I want to hide number under Barcode images or Format number !
    Ex:
    |||||||||||||| --> images barcode
    1234567 --> number barcode
    i want : hide : "123456" or format it : "123.456"
    Thanks !

    Hello,
The Image is generated by the java code in oraclebarcode.jar
It is possible to "hide" a part of the image by puting an object ("rectangle" for example ) over the part of the image you want to hide.
