Print Report name in Header

Hello to anyone!!!
I wonder if there is a way to print on the report header the file name of the report (e.g. myreport.rdf) in a parametric way..
You could send me a reply here or in the following address
[email protected]
Thanks a lot!

Create a user parameter and set it's default value to the name you're saving the file as. If the filename does change, you can still pass in the new name without having to modify the report.
You can get the name of the report displayed using srw.get_report_name().

  • Displaying the report name in the 'No results' view

    Hi guys,
    This is 10.1.3.4.1
    In the *'No results' view*: is it possible to retrieve and show the Answers request name dynamically?
    I've found two threads:
    Changing the default No results text
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=8312398&#8312398
    Show Report Title (Header) when no results
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=4575238&#4575238
    but those solutions require a customisation on a report by report basis, and the request name must be hardcoded.
    Ideally, I'd like to have something like:
    'Results not found for report <script type="text/javascript"> print report.name </script>'
    which I can actually put in the noresults.xml file, and would affect all the requests which include the 'No results' view. Replacing the dashboard section or hardcoding the request name in the No Results view is just not maintainable.
    Any ideas or recommendations?
    Thanks, regards.
    Alex.-

    hi Alex,
    Ideally, I'd like to have something like:
    'Results not found for report <script type="text/javascript"> print report.name </script>'First thing is No Results view ll not accept the "HTML/Java script",so we cant achieve the above syntax
    Second ....there is not option available in No Results to show dynamic names
    u can do that in title view but as you said manual work ll be there

  • Passing report name as report title

    Using Desktop Publisher for Word and a standalone BIP Enterprise version, is it possible to pass the report name to the rtf template so that it could be used as the report title?
    This feature would be useful when there are multiple reports (different names and slightly different queries/criteria) that use the same templates. We could then dynamically change the report title based on the report name.
    Thanks,
    Haresh

    Haresh,
    I'm not sure if there is any simple way to print report name in rtf template.
    But there is a work around. Follow below steps...
    1>create parameter called Report_Name in every report
    2>put default value for that parameter as report name (Title)
    3>select parameter type as Hidden
    Now in rtf template.
    <?param@begin:Report_Name?>
    <?$Report_Name?>

    Dear all,
    I have saved a user specific layout.
    When i see the print preview system shows the name of standard transaction as report name,whereas i want to print and view the name of layout as report heading(name).
    Can it be possible?
    If yes plz give us the valuable inputs.

    Hi,
    In your report program, use FM "GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS" and use the field PRI_PARAMS-PAART. This will have the req. value.
    else
    use sy-PLAYO field to dispaly the layout name.

  • Receivables - ARDLP Report Not Printing Country Name

    AR Report ARDLP for concurrent program Dunning Letter Generate is not printing Country Name on send to and remit to part of the letter. Though the package 'arp_addr_label_pkg.format_address' is giving the output with the country name(when I ran the package in SQL Developer) but when I run the report it is not giving the country name. What could be the reason?
    Thanks,
    Sravanthi

    Thankyou very much Nagamohan. It is printing the country now on the dunning letters. I think it was because of settings in system options though the default country was set, print home country was unchecked. When I reran the process it printed the country.
    The Statement print program also had the same issue. Now after the changing the system options, it is printing the country in the send to address but not in the remit to address if the countries are same for both send to and remit to. If they are different it is printing in both the places. Eg. If it is United Kingdom in both send to and remit to, its printing only in send to. If its united states in send to and united kingdom in remit to then its printing in the remit to area. Any idea on this?
    Thanks,
    Sravanthi

  • Labview 5.1, I don't succeed to print a report (error 41002) using the full printer path name. Could you provide me examples? Thanks

    I already tried the tips given by the Document ID: 1VNE8JR5, but without any success.
    When I don't provide a printer name (or path), the Report is printed on the default printer. This printing works fine under Win98, but it doesn't work on WinNT or WinXP.

    Hello Randy,
    Thank you for your answer.
    My network printer name is "R&DHP4000TN" and the printer server name is: "SERVEUR_BDC".
    So I think the full path of the printer should be:
    "\\SERVEUR_BDC\R&DHP4000TN"
    Maybe, the printer name is too long, or the "&" is not correctly interpreted?
    What's your opinion about this ?
    Thanks
    Kind Regards

  • Report Name in bigger size in output of ALV

    Hi,
    I want to print the Report name in bigger font size.
    Rightnow I am using the following line of code. Could you please help to print the Report Name in bigger size in Header of ALV Report output.
    slis_listheader is having 3 options H - Header , S - Standard, A - Action.
    I tried with H but it is printing in more size.
    FORM ALV.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET'
      EXPORTING
        I_LIST_TYPE           = 0
      IMPORTING
        ET_EVENTS             = gt_events "it_alv_event
      EXCEPTIONS
        LIST_TYPE_WRONG       = 1
        OTHERS                = 2.
      SORT gt_events BY NAME.
      READ TABLE gt_events INTO LS_EVENT WITH KEY NAME = 'TOP_OF_PAGE'.
       IF SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
         MOVE : 'TOP_OF_PAGE' TO LS_EVENT-FORM.
         APPEND LS_EVENT TO gt_events.
         CLEAR LS_EVENT.
       ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.                                         "ALV
    FORM TOP_OF_PAGE .
    data: ls_line type slis_listheader.
      ls_line-typ = 'S'.
    text = 'Program : '.
      text1 = SY-REPID.
      concatenate text text1 into text2.
      ls_line-info = text2.

    call function 'REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE'
        EXPORTING
          it_list_commentary = gt_list_top_of_page.
    Endform.

    Hi,
    Try this
    FORM TOP_OF_PAGE .
    data: ls_line type slis_listheader.
    ls_line-typ = 'H'.  " Here you can have 3 possbile values : 'H', 'S' and 'A'
    text = 'Program : '.
    text1 = SY-REPID.
    concatenate text text1 into text2.
    ls_line-info = text2.
    append ls_line to gt_list_top_of_page.

  • Report Name does not come when converted to HTML format.

    We are using Report Builder 10.1.2.3.0 to convert a .rep file to HTML. We need the HTML output file to feed to a reports to xls converter.
    Problem is, the html output does not have the report name. Report name (and also date, time. user, page etc.) are in the margin section. For some reason, it wont print the report name in the html. It works fine when I run it in the builder.
    Here is a graphic of the actual outputs: http://postimage.org/image/uio1x32gt/
    Why is this??? The property palette for a label that is printing in all pages (like Date ) is the same as for the report name (GL EXTRACT DETAIL REPORT), BUT it does not appear in the HTML output???
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    PS: We use rwrun.exe with desformat=HTML.

    amitphynyl wrote:
    hi,
    have you tried another label for the header of your report.Hi Amit, I tried that, and you are right.
    I created a simple text boilerplate in the margin , on top of the report name. And when we generate the HTML it comes in every page properly.
    The property palettes of the 2 texts are EXACTLY the SAME.
    So why doesn't the old text (with report name) does NOT appear and ONLY the new text appear????
    Cos, we are trying to generate an MS Excel version of every report. For this, we use a tool called rep2excel, and it users as in input an HTML file. So, we have to generate the HTML from the rep and feed it to that.
    So, since we have 200 odd reports, we will have to change all of them, that is why.
    Here is the output (HTML file): http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/dgrip.gif

  • Report Generation Toolkit V9.0.0 : Print Report.vi doesnt print

    Hi,
    i have migrated my Labview 8.5 Project with Report Generation Toolkit V1.1.2 to a Labview 2009 System with Report Generation Toolkit V9.0.0.
    In this Project I use the Report Generation Toolkit for printing out a Standard Report with e few Tables and Graphs.
    Now the VI Print Report.vi delivers the Error -41002 with the Text "Invalide Printer Name". I have, of course installed the propper Printer on the machine.
    I don´t connect a string to the "Printer name" input of the VI, because i want to use the default printer.
    In my oppinion, there´s  a bug in the Print Report.vi: if you don´t wire the "Printer name" input, the vi should use the default printer, but in this case the vi connects the empty input string to the input of the method node it calls.
    I fixed this bug, but the method node still returns the same error.
    any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thank you for the link!
    For some reasons i can´t find this specific article in the knowledge base (my browser is always rerouted to the german version of ni.com, because i am in Austria). I tried to search with the exact title of this article, and the error message string, but no results...
    I have also installed Labview 8.5 and the "old" Toolkits on my new computer in addition to Labview 2009 and the "new" Toolkits and tested my program in 8.5. Here i got an error mentioning the margins and i had to change the margin settings for printing out, then in worked.
    After reading the article, i have applied the same changes for the margins in the 2009-version of my program and it works too!
    Problem solved!
    Thank you very much!
    PS:
    I first wrote, that there´s maybe a bug in the new version of the Print Report.vi, but i´ve compared it with the old version and it seems to be no bug, sorry!
    After all I decided to stay with Labview 8.5 for now, because of another problem:
    it´s not possible to "save for previous version" from LV2009 to LV8.5 directly.
    Laview crashes, when a VI contains an event structure as i found out by searching through the "known issues", and i have a lot of VIs with event structures!
    I have to have the possibility to save my Labview projects for 8.0 and 8.5. The only way is to save for 8.6 and then save from 8.6 to 8.5.
    That´s nasty and time-consuming!
    Maybe a future update will solve this problem (without producing new ones)

    I follow your instruction as below:
    1) download the sample app vbnet_win_printtoprinter.zip to dev computer and compile it to .NET 2005.
    - Run from my dev computer
    - Click "Print Report" button
    - Error message display - please see below
        The error was due to the default printer name hard coded in the program was not found. I have edited to my printer name and it can be printed out with no error.
    2) Use a "saved data" report so that you do not have to worry about database logon.
    can't find the "saved data", please elaborate
    3) Then copy the exe to the 64 bit box and try to print using this sample app.
    -do you mean copy the exe to the 64 bit computer for testing ?

  • Logic to select Report name based on User's input.

    Hi Guru's
    Good Morning!
    I have a requirement to create a XMLPUBLISHER Report Whihc is Called as ITEM COUNT SUMMARY + ITEM COUNT DETAIL REPORT Following below
    are my ParameterS
    0.REPORT NAME
    1.ORG
    2.ORG COUNTRY
    3.ITEM SELECTION
    4.ORDER TYPE
    5.STATUS
    6.RECEIPT DATE FROM
    7.RECEIPT DATE TO
    8.TRANSIT DAYS
    REPORT NAME: PARAMETER WILL LET THE USER to select the requrired Reports to be run.
    ORG: is the Names of the SHIP FROM ORG
    ORG COUNTRY: is a Dependent Parameter based on the ORG (i.e When a SHIP FROM ORG is Selected the ORG CHOICE Should have the CHoices for the selected ORG and when Nothing Selected from that ORG it should run for every ORG COUNTRY in that SHIP FROM ORG Currently we have two ORG COUNTRY PER SHIP FROM ORG say(USA, CANADA)
    ITEM SELECTION: We need to Run this Report based on Item Selection ( The Logic should handle a total item selection whihc are comma seperated for upto 29
    items)
    ORDER TYPE : Types of Order Again this can be a List of Comma Seperated Values for order Types
    STATUS: STatus should be Comma Seperated (ENTERED,WAVED,NOTWAVED,SHIPPED)
    TRANSIT DAYS: Transit Days
    RECEIPT DATE FROM: This is the Starting DATe range for the REport to be run
    RECEIPT DATE TO: This is the END DATe range for the REport to be run.
    The ITEM COUNT SUMMARY Report should allow the users to run the report 3 ways
    1.ITEM COUNT RUN BY ORDER TYPE ( for all the STATUS)
    2.ITME COUNT RUN BY STATUS ( FOR all the ORDER TYPES)
    3.ITEM COUNT RUN BY TRANSIT DAYS
    And My approach is I have three Queries Created for the above and in the DATA DEFINITION File
    I have them Listed my DATA DEFININTION ( Sorry as my Query's GO More than 70+ LINES for Each Query I thought I will just paste the Order How i have arranged my queries in the Tempalte)

    Now My Problem is How Do i Get a Logic to Let the Report Name Selection To be REferenced in the Data Definition file..
    I would like to request you to Please help me out in arriving at a Solution for Implementing the Logic
    When the USer selects ITEM COUNT SUMMARY BY ORDER TYPE I want "BY_ORDERTYPE" to be Executed and so on..
    Is there a Way That I can Write in my Data definition file as
    DECODE(:REPORT_NAME ,'ITEM COUNT SUMMARY BY ORDERTYPE', Run query for BY_ORDERTYPE,
    ,'ITEM COUNT SUMMARY BY STATUS', Run query for BY_STATUS,
    ,'ITEM COUNT SUMMARY BY TRANSIT DAYS', Run query for BY_TRANSITDAYS,run query for DETAIL REPORT);
    Also My Item Description Contains Special Characters like Registered Symbol, Copyright Symbol How would I force my XML Parser to Still consider them as TEXT's
    May I Directly Specify <?xdofx:DECODE :REPORT_NAME = 'ITEM COUNT SUMMARY BY ORDERTYPE' THEN BY_ORDERTYPE ?> in the DATA DEFINITION file , I think this is only allowed in RTF please Help,
    Thanks
    vasanthanand

    Thanks for the Reply sir,
    When you say Write the Code, you are referring to the Package is that correct,unfortunately I am not implementing this via PL/SQL Package.
    you mentioned that I can Implement the Logic in the Data definition file( which is a XML file), how and Where I have print use that IF construct (or) Can you Please Print the Code snippet in the Model XML template that i have pasted in my Post.
    May i know what is this
    ln_req_id := fnd_request.submit_request -- for XML1 For...
    Sorry about my ignorance...
