Print widget - AS3 - with page orientation correction

Has anyone here shared the full AS3 code for creating a print button widget in Captivate 5 including setting the page orientation to horizontal format?
I did a search but couldn't find anything, thanks for your time.
Best, Steve

It's been so long, I don't remember specifics, but I do have my code.
I have a Contract which is portrait, an eeo statement which is portrait and
Contract T&C's which are landscape. (I call these via subtemplates based on condtion.)
You do have to set page layout in word and add section break.
If doesn't work, re-create section break and try to change orientation again.
Your calling template section and subtemplate MUST have same margin settings.
Here's the code...
CONTRACT IS ABOVE
######### Section Break(Continuous)
<?if@section://CF_EEO_TERMS_FLAG='Y'?>
<?import:file:///bipubTS/dept/pur/subdoc/eeo_portrait.rtf?>
<?call:eeo_portrait?> <?end template?><?initial-page-number:’auto’?><?end if?>
############# Section Break(Next Page)
<?if@section://CF_SUBDOCUMENT='FOUND'?>
<?import:file:///bipubTS/dept/pur/subdoc/con_tc_subtemplates.rtf?>
<?choose:?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’CONSULT_TC’?> <?call:CONSULT_TC?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’CORP_TC_MAIN’?> <?call: CORP_TC_MAIN?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’CT_FOSSIL_TC_MAIN’?> <?call:CT_FOSSIL_TC_MAIN?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’OFF_SITE_TC’?> <?call:OFF_SITE_TC?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’TRANS_TC_MAIN’?> <?call:TRANS_TC_MAIN?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’MATERIAL_TC’?> <?call:MATERIAL_TC?><?end when?>
<?when:.//CP_DOC_FILE_NAME=’PRIOR_TC’?> <?call:PRIOR_TC?><?end when?>
<?end choose?><?initial-page-number:’auto’?><?end if?>
E_G_CONTRACTS
P.S.
<?initial-page-number:’auto’?> this was for blank pages.

  • HP Color Laserjet 1600 cannot print in color with Pages 09

    Hi, everybody!
    I got a huge problem for me that the HP Color Laserjet 1600 cannot print in color with Pages 09 after I upgrade to 10.6.1. It worked very well in 10.5.8. Since there is no official driver from HP website for 1600, so I used foomatic/foo2hp as the driver.
    It is very strange that I can print in color with Safari and Preview in 10.6.1, but cannot with Pages 09. When I print with Pages 09, it always shows that the print job was completed but my printer was nothing happened.
    I just re-install the 10.6 OS "complete new", install the printer driver with the instructions on this forum.
    It would be high appreciated if somebody can help me on it!

    Why doesn't MAC just give us the driver for the HP Color Laserjet 1600? It's one of the most popular home based business laserjets. It's the one I use and a lot of other people in business use it so I'm at a loss as to why they don't.
    I bought my MAC Pro tower for video editing and I can't print from it and have had to reinstall the OS on it once already because Safari wouldn't open a window. So much for the MAc advertising statement of "We're so much easier to use."
    After spending close to $10,000 on MAC equipment, Tower, Laptop, Monitor, etc. if they think I'm going to spend more for a new printer just because I can't get a driver to print they're thinking wrong. I going to re-think my new cell phone purchase too. Has anyone had software issuses with their phones before I go out and buy one?

  • Discoverer Plus - Problem with Page Orientation when printing pdf's

    Hi,
    When printing pdf's in Disco Plus I have a problem:
    My workbooks are a mixture of landscape and portrait pages.
    I am printing the entire workbook and then using cutepdf to produce a pdf.
    If I print to paper I get the correct landscape/portrait settings.
    If I print to pdf then landscape pages appear vertically when I view on screen so that the text is running from bottom to top of the page.
    So it is picking up th portrait/landscape settings from the individual worksheets but cutepdf has not realised that the pages are landscape so they appear on the screen vertically.
    This was not a problem on discoverer desktop so I am confident that this is not a problem with cutepdf.
    Any thoughts?
    Justin

    Thanks 2257648922,
    Version details are as follows:
    OracleBI Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.3)
    Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)
    Discoverer Model - 10.1.2.55.26
    Discoverer Server - 10.1.2.55.26
    End User Layer - 5.1.1.0.0.0
    End User Layer Library - 10.1.2.55.26
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production

    So I assume that means my version doesn't have the bug you mention.
    Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

  • Printing database records with page numbers

    Have an old database with name, address info and want to print an updated listing of all the records using AppleWorks 6.2.9 I inserted a footer in layout mode and then created a text field with page number in it. Went to browse mode and my 23 pages looked fine with page number at the bottom, as I wanted. But when printed, the page number appeared underneath every single record, as well as at the bottom of the page. Is this fixable?

    Hi TN,
    The printed version would suggest that the page number had been inserted into the Body part of the layout, whicle the screen version (assuming Page View has been checked in the Window menu) would suggest that the page number was correctly placed in the footer part.
    I suspect that either the DB file or AppleWorks preferences files have become corrupted (possibly both).
    I would start by rebuilding the Layout that is misbehaving, starting from a 'standard' layout.
    If that doesn't solve the problem, Quit AppleWorks, trash the preferences (see THIS User Tips Library post by Peggy for details), relaunch AppleWorks and try again.
    If the problem persists, try Saving a copy of the db as an AppleWorks 5 file, then close the original and open the AW 5 version into AppleWorks 6. (This conversion sometimes corrects internal problems with database files.)

  • Can mailing barcodes be printed on envelopes with Pages?

    Can mailing barcodes be printed on envelopes made in Pages as in Microsoft Office?

    No, not with Pages, although I guess you could with a barcode font. I find it much easier to print envelopes using the free EasyEnvelopes widget.

  • Unable to print book - error with page info

    I'm trying to print a 50 page book. No problem assembling, uploading or purchasing but after a day or two I always get the following message from the Apple store.
    Due to an error when your order was submitted, the file we received contains incorrect page information. As a result, Apple is unable to process your order and you will not be charged. Before submitting a new order, we have some suggestions for correcting the issue:
    Update your software.
    Preview your product in iPhoto or Aperture.
    Place your order again.
    If you are unable to update iPhoto, or are prompted to purchase updated software, you may consider the troubleshooting steps below:
    Open iPhoto and go into your book project.
    Choose to view "All Pages".
    Once you are on the "All Pages" screen, click on the last page that appears.
    Choose "Layout" and then select "Spread" from the "Layout" drop down menu.
    You should then see that the rear flap page appears. Subsequently, you can make the desired customizations before resubmitting your file.
    Preview your product in iPhoto or Aperture.
    Place your order again.
    We appreciate your business and apologize for any inconvenience.
    This is the third time this has happened. I've tried both sets of instructions. The final time, the .pdf preview displayed but the formatting of the page was all out of whack - photo sizes incorrect, wrong font, wrong font sizes - The software is updated, I'm running OS Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1.
    I'm all out of ideas, here. Any input greatly appreciated.

    Paul:
    As Terence pointed out it's a damaged library, most likely the database file, Library6.iPhoto. To protect from future occurrences of such a damaged library you can keep a current backup copy of the database file on hand and ready to replace in the library package if you ever get the blank or "!" indication again for the full sized file. See the tip at the end of my signature for an easy way to make those backups.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Saving as pdf with pages in correct order.

    my magazine is 40 pages, i want to perfect bound this . so obviously i will be only printing 36 pages as a magazine, Then the other 4 pages will be the front/back cover to be attached afterwards.
    when i print in indeisgn for perfect bound to my printer, indesign re-arranges the pages in the correct oder so when i fold them they match up.
    e.g (4,1 / 2,3 / 8,5 / 6,7 ect) and when its folded up it reads ( 1 / 2,3/ 4,5 / 6,7 / 8 ect)
    but since im not using my printer i need the magazine to be printed from a PDF file.
    when i save as a pdf it just saves in order (1-36) so when it goes to print its not in the correct order that my magazine needs to be.
    could anyone tell me how i can save this in the correct order for perfect bound as a pdf.
    if i cant do it so simply could anyone tell me the easiest way to get these pages in the correct order.
    thanks

    When you send out for commercial printing, that's what you want -- an unimposed PDF consisting of the individual pages. It's the Printer's job to impose them for his equipment, especially for perfect binding which requires a grind-off at the spine.
    Most likely the cover (which will need a spine panel) is going to be printed separately on differnt stock, and should probably be prepared as a separate file, but check with the printer.

  • Call print apex_util.get_print_document() with page item values

    Hi all
    I ran into an issue that very frustrated as it sounds so simple.
    I'm in Apex 3.1.
    My database has table TAB_CLASSES, TAB_STUDENT
    My application has page 1 with P1_SID is student_ID
    I had an simple report query name Class_query, show all classes that a student attends
    select * from TAB_CLASSES where SID = :P1_SID;
    I also select option "include application and session information"
    I had report template Class_template
    In my application, I have a process tried to generate report list classes for all students.
    l_report blob;
    for x in (select * from TAB_STUDENT)
    loop
    :P1_SID := x.SID;
    l_report := apex_util.get_print_document (
    p_application_id => :APP_ID,
    p_report_query_name => 'Class_query',
    p_report_layout_name => 'Class_template',
    p_report_layout_type => 'rtf',
    p_document_format => 'pdf'
    insert all the l_report into database with SID as a part of l_report name (*)
    end loop;
    After this, I got multiple of l_report blob in database, number of report is exactly number of student in the TAB_STUDENT table. The problem is that every report looks the same, and it got the information of only first student
    I guessed it did not pass the item value (P1_SID) every time it call the get_print_document, but it still shows in the report name (*)
    Please help me. Thanks for any idea.

    Thanks for the post of Marc, about how variables are binding and calling by process, I changed my app design to have a sp to print and store the pdf file. Then in my app, I just called the sp and passed the P1_SID. It worked.
    Thanks.

  • Print setting problem with Pages 09 (4.3) and Epson 840

    When printing Pages document I am not able to select Cassette 2 from Print Settings option in Print dialog window. It is grayed out.   Cassette 1 is available.
    I have checked for updates and checked with Epson tech support.  Troubleshooting points to Pages being the culprit.  Cassette 2 can readily be selected if printing from other applications.

    Hi Anton,
    do you use Read-Only View Objects ?
    If that's the case, did you ensure you defined a Key Attribute for each and that you set up the create() method to call setManageRowsByKey(true)
    See " [7.9.3 What You May Need to Know About Enabling View Object Key Management for Read-Only View Objects|http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/bcvoeo009.htm#BABJEEFA] "

  • Lightbox in slideshow widget scrolling with page

    Hi,
    if i have page that scrolls and being in lightbox mode, scrollbar in browser doesn't dissapear and causing scroll of lightbox image thru all the page when moving mouse wheel or keyboard - it shouldn't scroll! It didn't happen with muse 2.
    Please fix it or post solution.
    Look at this - there is no scroll bar in lightbox mode and you can't scroll image up or down - despite main site have a scroll bar:

    i ask the same !A carousel thumbnails widget or place a html !
    And i think is possible because i found this http://muse.adobe.com/exchange-library/lances-sample-widgets and this support the base for the scrolling effect,I mean here that you can find marquee (text scrolling ) and a sliding image also.Its a start.I hope a development make a widget for sliding thumbnails

  • Reverse page printing-not available with 10.5 & Photoshop CS2

    Re printing images - With Tiger (10.4), I had the option for portrait, portrait reversed and landscape. When I upgraded to Leopard (10.5), I lost the portrait reversed. Instead there is a "reverse page orientation" square to check in the layout panel in SOME programs. It's there in Preview, but is NOT in Photoshop CS2 where I really need it. Oddly enough, in the summary panel (with Photoshop) reverse orientation is even mentioned as not turned on, even though there is no way for me to do it.
    Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work with my current setup? (10.5.8 & CS2)
    Does 10.6 resolve this issue? (I realize that I can't install it on my current  Power PC computer)
    Do updated Photoshop versions (CS 3, 4 or 4) solve it?
    In the next 4 - 5 months I'm planning to upgrade to a Mac Pro, but for now I'm trying to get the most I can out of this old computer. Problem is - I'm not sure if even the new system would give me what I had with 10.4. It's a shame to LOSE function with system upgrades, when one hopes for more function.
    Thank you very much in advance for any help or insight into this issue.
    kajz

    I confused the matter by saying reverse page printing rather than reverse page orientation (or reverse image) printing which is what I meant.
    I use it for double sided printing in which I need the back side printed in reverse to come out properly.
    The problem with using preview for printing is that I lose the dimension measurements which must be precise for the work I do.
    But - that's a GREAT IDEA to save a reverse form of an image in PS, and then use that for my back side prints. I don't know why I didn't think of it myself, but THANK YOU for the insight. I appreciate the help very much

  • Printer ADOBE PDF 9.0 - page orientation

    After uninstalling Adobe Acrobat 8 it occures that the remained Acrobat 9 messages on start to need to fix some missing components. I clicked okay/yes.
    However, now I can't print to ADOBE PDF 9.0 in landscape orientation. All pages come out turned to portrait format. I used to use settings created in InDesign successfully, there is no page format setting at all (compared to Distiller settings). I tried  various settings and printed from various applications.
    Then I deletetd the printer ADOBE PDF 9.0 and created it new. (in use now: Adobe PDF 3018.101; URL: pdf900://distiller).
    After some other trials now it prints fine from some but still turned around from other applications.
    What can I do, to get printed PDFs in selected page orientation only?
    Any hints appretiated! Thank you, - thomas

    Of cause I do set up the page to landscape before printing. In all applications it's the same procedure: usual visually by clicking on a portrait or landscape page icon, whereas in some applications the shown measurement next to the print preview icon does not change it does in others (from 21 cm x 29,7 cm to 29,7 cm x 21 cm). That's sort of just GUI I guess, not my print issues origin.
    However, this issue aperas to came with uninstalling Acrobat 8. Assumly some part got lost/corrupt (and made Acrobat 9 complain about missing components on start) - but which indeed? And how to replace?
    I'd like to avoid a reinstall for the moment, cause I remeber this behave in earlier, ancient times with Updates from version 5, 6 or 7. Pity, I can't remember how I solved it, may be I did not at all until version 8, don't know anymore. But I do remember I did quite a lot of reinstalls without success in this print with ADOBE PDF paper orientation issue.

  • Print Widget cutting of part of page

    I am trying to use the print widget to print a page of my captivate presentation.  when I preview it to print it as a pdf, it is cutting off part of the page.  How do I get it to print the whole page?

    I am also having problems with the Captivate 6 print widget.  I am publishing to an exe and most of the time, the print widget creates a page where only part of the slide is showing and it is off center and larger than it is supposed to be.  It looks as if it is only printing the stage.  I am a contractor and am not allowed to purchase third party widgets.  I have tried to alter the print widget in flash and when I do, it only prints blank pages, if it prints at all.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I am using Captivate 6 and Flash cs6.  I have tried the Certificate Widget, but the certificates do not have the information on them that I need.  We have created our own certificate with user variables for the Name, Couse and dates.  I have not had a chance to look at altering the Captivate Certificate widget yet.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Brochure print: false page orientation

    Almost every trial to print a bochure on a duplex laser printer fails in wrong page orientation of the backsides (upside down).
    I had tried various print options additionally (the printers duplex options), and also Acrobats "turn page" option but – weird – only if I print just a few (2 or 4 pages) of a 136 p brochure they print correctly. Whereas printing the complete pdf always results in wrong backside orientation.
    Acrobat 9.4  –  OSX 10.5.8 –  OKI 3640 (C 9650)
    Any ideas or hints appreciated,
    Thanks, Thomas

    I think it is related to page rotation issues in Acrobat PDF, you could try printing to 'Acrobat PDF' as the printer and then try printing the resulting PDF again.
    Or setting the print size in the driver and change print size dialog to 'Defined by driver' (or some similar wording, dont remember exact phrase)

  • PDF From Excel File Page Orientation Problem

    Hi and thank you for your time to read about this problem!
    I have a workbook in Excel 2003 that has multiple worksheets that I am Itrying to convert to PDF for distribution.  One worksheet in the workbook is set to 11x17 Landscape--all the other worksheets are Letter size and portrait. All pages have the same margin settings.  I am running Acrobat 8 Professional.
    I have tried Excel's Send to Recipient as PDF, as well as the "Convert to PDF" option on the PDF menu in Excel.  In both cases the PDF file is converted perfectly when viewed on screen.  All page sizes and page orientations are correct when viewed on-screen.
    The problem occurs when the PDF file is printed.  No matter what the file looks like on screen the first page that prints out is landscape instead of portrait.  All of the following pages print fine.  Even if I skip page 1 and print pages 2-7, the first page out of the printer has the wrong page orientation.
    If we ran into this problem consistently across our PDF files I would say it's a printer issue, but I haven't seen this behavior before.  I make PDF's from pretty much all of the Microsoft and Adobe products and this is the first time I've ever seen this happen.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

    The machine I'm running it on is NTFS...
    Have found the problem though and it's got nothing to do with Acrobat!
    Basically the 80th sheet in the workbook had its Print Quality setting set to something different (higher resolution in this case) from the other sheets. I guess Acrobat saw that and realised it would have to create a new pdf with higher quality settings and so split the file in two when it hit that sheet. I assume a similar thing would happen if you changed the paper size half way through too.
    Anyway, problem solved. Hopefully this post will help someone who's equally confused in the future!
    Many thanks,
    Ben.
