Printing a multipage document containing multiple Components

Hi everybody,
I am trying to print a multipage document which consists of multiple JPanels used for grouping, each of which hold JLabels and JScrollPanes and JTextAreas.
I know how to do multipage printing with text but I am lost with the multi component situation.
Thanks in advance for any help.
vh

If you know how many pages are in use, get the size of the page (the pageformats imageable height * page number) and with that number translate the page up that number of pixels. ( the translate method of graphics ). Then you can draw all the components on the page. Make sure you translate before you draw, this mistake took me a day to figure out. Hope this helps.

  • Why can't I print a multipage document in Safari?

    My Safari print dialog shows every document as "1 of 1" under the picture, not "1 of however many pages" as it should.  As a result, only the first page prints.

    There is no Safari print dialogue. The settings are in your printer software and should offer a choice of 'printing from Safari' or some other setting.

  • Scroll Bar Problem after Printing a web page containing multiple page data

    Hi All,
    I have a web application which has two DIV, one is main and one is child. I am having problem in printing multiple pages. There is a lot of data in the child DIV and i am using JavaScript functions to control the print functionality. When i print using window.print(), only the data on the main page currently being showed is printed. I further researched and checked out the Style.Overflow property.
    Now i am using divMain.style.overflow = "visible"
    After this the complete print comes. But in Firefox, the scroll bar disappears and only single page is left with no scroll bar .
    Now if after print i give divMain.style.overflow = "Auto" OR divMain.style.overflow = "Scroll", still the scroll bar doesn't come and if it comes then its inactive. I am unable to see the complete data on the page after the print is taken.
    The problem is not coming in I.E and the full data with scroll bar is recovered in I.E.
    Please help me how to get the normal page with full data and scroll bar after printing in Firefox.
    Thanks,
    Manuj

    hi, i would update my reader first to the newest version.
    does the size of the textfield never change, independant how much text is in it?
    perhaps check your subforms, if they are type "position" size does not change in my opinion, except your parent subforms expand to fit....
    or use "flowed" subforms...and regard the parent subforms too!

  • "The document contains multiple page sizes"

    I am using ID 2014.1 on Windows 7.
    I have a 60-page document, and whenever I want to print a page on my desktop printer, I get this message:
    I have not changed the size of any of the pages, and I can't see anything unusual when I go through the whole document.
    There's no warning when I export to PDF.
    Here's my document setup:
    I have reset my preferences, to no avail.
    Exporting the file to idml didn't help either.
    I tried to print from some other files, and the same thing happened on one file, others were ok.
    Any ideas?

    I don't have CC 2014 installed on this machine, but you should quit the CC Desktop app using the gear icon, then restart it so it updates and check again, just to be sure.

  • Can't get footnote numbering to update in a document containing multiple merged files, help!

    I've merged a bunch of files into a single document, nearly 100 pages long. The page numbers updated automatically with no issues, but it seems no matter what I try, I can't get the footnote numbers to sync. Is there a trick to this??
    Please tell me I won't have to go through 80+ pages and link them by hand!! Help ;-(

    Thank you, Peter ... Hopefully this helps!

  • Blank page in report o/p and o/p notprinted when contains multiple pages

    Dear Friends,
    I am facing couple of issues while modifying an existing report
    1. First page of the report is Blank
    2. Report output is not printed when the output contains multiple pages.
    Currently, along with the data, the report prints the output format in the first page and some totals in the last page.
    The requirement is that we do not want these first and last pages.
    For this, i made the following modifications to the report.
    In the Layout Model,
    *1. Under the body of Header section, we have a repeating frame which is printing the output format that comes out as report first page.*
    Both Horizontal and Vertical Elasticity are set to Fixed and below is the code in the format trigger on this repeating frame.
    function R_HEADER_PAGESFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    if :p_header_pages = 0
    then return(false);
    else return(true);
    end if;  return (TRUE);
    end;I modified this format trigger to always return false as shown below
    begin
    return false; --statement added by me
    if :p_header_pages = 0
    then return(false);
    else return(true);
    end if;  return (TRUE);
    end;*2. Under the Body of Trailer section, we have a main frame which prints summary information.*
    Both Horizontal and Vertical Elasticity are set to Fixed and below is the contents of the Format trigger on this frame
    function M_CONTROL_GRPFRFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    if :report_term_count > 0
    then return(true);
    else return(false);
    end if;  return (TRUE);
    end; I have modified this trigger to always return False as shown below
    function M_CONTROL_GRPFRFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    return false; --statement added by me
    if :report_term_count > 0
    then return(true);
    else return(false);
    end if;  return (TRUE);
    end;When i run the report after doing these modifications, i am facing the above mentioned problems.
    Any idea on why a blank page is coming out before the actual data?
    Also when the report output contains multiple pages, the output is not printed. Any idea on this?

    Hi InoL,
    I have tried by setting vertical elasticity to variable but the blank plage is still coming in the output.
    Also, i am just wondering that blank page is not shown for the trailer page even though the Horizontal and Vertical Elasticty is set to Fixed.
    Could you please let me know if you have any idea on this?
    +InoL Wrote:+
    +And this didn't happen before you made the changes to the format triggers?+ Sorry for not mentioning that this happens when i delete the entire fields and frames in Header section.
    Setting the Vertical Elasticy of Header to False and returning false in Format trigger still prints the blank page in addition to the actual data pages.
    I have also tried setting the option BLANKPAGES=NO in the concurrent program execution options but still the blank page is not suppressed.

  • Has anyone been able to use auto select printing on pdf documents?

    Does anyone have a fix for being able to preset the printer trays to a specific paper size to allow for autoselect printing of pdf documents with multiple size pages?   The mac printing options only allow for letter or legal with scaling.  I need to be able to print large documents with both size pages.  Windows environement can handle this with ease.  I'm very surprised Apple cannot.

  • Since upgrading to Mavericks I can only print one page of a multipage document.

    Ever since I upgraded to Mavericks my HP Deskjet 6840 color printer will only print 1 page from a multipage document at a time no matter how I set the job.  And sometimes it prints the same page even thought I set the parameters for a different page. I have the latest driver. I can't find any solution on the HP site or elsewhere on the internet.

    The driver should be part of OS X, not something you download.
    This link shows supported HP printers (6800 but no 6840).

    I suggest you delete the printer, turn it off, restart your system, and turn the printer on and add it back in.

  • Sent multiple page Word document containing photos

    I had a 22-page Word document containing a table with small photos of dvds on my old Dell Inspiron laptop.  I forwarded this Word document to my Apple iMac Desktop as an attachment.  When I opened document it only shows page 1 and not the remaining pages.  I thought that it was because it was all one continuous document, but there were page breaks on original document.  What is the easiest way to send a Microsoft Word document from a Dell computer to my Apple iMac?

    Most likely the table is the problem. Try making sure it is inline (in the text not floating), then it will flow from page to page in Pages.
    First try selecting the table:
    Inspector > Wrap > Object Placement > Floating
    Which might fix it.

  • How to Restrict printing the document using IRM for a Single Document?Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library?

    Can we able to Configure the IRM in Document Level in SharePoint Document libraries?
    The document library contains multiple document sets , Can we restrict the printing according to document sets? Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library
     Is this possible?Please suggest.

    Yes, that can be done. But note that all administrators will have the same right to print, so you need to make sure the users are not administrators. You can include a macro to disable printing, but if the users disable macro, they can print the documents.
    Hence, there is no foolproof way to prevent printing documents. If you still need a foolproof security, PDF format provides password based security (viewing doesn't require a password) that can be implemented to prevent the document from printing,
    which doesn't require any special scripts and is tough.

  • Split TIF document with multiple pages

    Hi,
    Iu2019m using function module 'SCMS_HTTP_GET' to retrieve TIF document from Filenet.  The TIF document returned has multiple pages.  Iu2019m able to retrieve the document with no issue.  What I need to do is split the TIF document for each page.
    Is there a way in ABAP to split the TIF on each page break?
    The reason I need to split is later in program I call FM SSFC_BASE64_ENCODE passing data to Adobe form that uses IMAGE FIELD object to display TIF.  I have no issue displaying TIF with 1 page on adobe form.  But if there are multiple pages only the first page is displayed in the Adobe PDF.  I was thinking if I could split the TIF that contains multiple page into individual TIF I would then pass in table to PDF form to display all pages of the TIF.
    Appreciate the help,
    Gary

    Hi,
    I'm also in the same situation. I am uploading the TIf file with multiple pages, but only the first page is printing. Did you get any luck in either printing all pages OR program which can spilt...
    Thanks,
    Sarma

  • How can I create a "master" document with multiple variations?

    I designed a map that will be posted at a few dozen junctions with a "you are here" symbol.  Every one will be identical with the exception of this symbol.  I don't know if there is any way to do this while preserving a "master" map that can be edited all at once.  For example, I may need to change the location of the paths and it would be a real time saver if I didn't have to edit 20+ files (each with an arrow in a different spot but otherwise the same) separately.  Also, I will be sending the file over email to a professional printer, so I am very uncertain about what would be a standard way to format something like this and really wouldn't want to clog their email.
    I haven't been able to figure out an easy way to do this.  I'm wondering if it involves using multiple artboards, a feature that I'm not very familiar with, or if the easiest way is to have a layer for each symbol location and just save twenty files (whew) and send them to the printer as separate documents - which seems super clumsy.
    I have tried copying the artboard multiple times.  This was my best attempt at editing all at once: I created whatever I needed on one artboard, then dragged it to the symbols panel, then cut, then went to edit > paste on all artboards.  However, this doesn't allow me to simply fiddle with a path or object that already exists and I can't figure out how I would delete the same object from all artboards.
    If anyone has some thoughts, I'm pretty novice, so please keep it in simple terms. Also, I am in a bit of a time crunch, so speedy answers are much appreciated!  Thank you!

    Alright, that makes sense.  And yep...I've never worked with a professional printer so I wasn't sure if it is standard to have something that will require that much involvement in the set-up on their part, but I guess it's preferable to sending a bunch of separate documents.  Thanks so much for your help, Larry!
