Printing Detail Block

Hi Friends!
Imagine there is a detail data block the number of records display are 10.I want to
Print all the records including those which are displayed when we use scroll bar.As
There is a demo in the forms exactly what I want. But there is no code we can see.
A solution to make a report and then print those records too is not required.Just like we can print the screen using print screen button such a solution I desire
Any bodys help or code to solve the prob. Will make a great
Pls also let let me know if I have conveyed properly!

Imran,
Your problem, as I understand is that you want to take a printout just like a print screen. If yes try default menu -- Action -- Print.
If you want to get printout of all records which are displayed or not using the query then you can create a text file using text_io and then make a prinout for all queried records. For more informations about text_io you can see help.

Unable to see the values in detail block

Hello,
I have a master detail block, when I query the form, I am unable to see the values for a particular field(Column), all other columns appear properly in the details block, Upon checking the same table(s) in SQL ( by using the JOIN defined in the where clause of the relationship in Forms) , it shows the relevant records for all fields. So what could be wrong with the Form, please advise.

Does your non-database filed has associate any column ?
For example, you have SUPPLIER_ID (database column) and SUPPLIER_NAME (non-database column). SUPPLIER_NAME has LOV column. And when selecting supplier name from LOV value also assign at supplier_id.
Now to show supplier name when querying, you have to write POST-CHANGE trigger at supplier_id. like
SELECT ASSC_CODE INTO :MST_SUPPLIER.ACC_CODE
FROM ACC_SUB_SUB_CONTROL

Master - detail block (many-to-many)

Hello, , I have 2 tables:
1-(parts)its primary key : p_id
2-(suppliers)its primary key : s_id
and they have many-to-many relationship between them .
the table Resulted from the relationship is(part_supp)
How can I create master-detail block Based on this relationship.In other words, which of tables will be the master and which of them well be detail.
I am using form 6i ..
please help.....

Use the junction table as a hidden block, then establish a standard Forms relation between

How can I get a detail block to requery after a database change?

Hi, I have a master/detail form. When the status of the master record changes, I need to update a date in one of the detail records. If I use SQL to update the detail row in the database in the ON-CHANGE trigger of the master block, how can I get the detail block to requery to show the change? When I try doing a go_block from any of the ...UPDATE triggers, it says it is restricted.

Do you have a "Relationship" defined between your Master and Detail blocks? If so, you simply need to requery your master block and the detail block will automatically be requeried. If you can't use a relationship, then you can use can create a timer in the trigger that updates the database and then in the When-Timer-Expired (WTE) trigger you can go to the detail block and execute a query. For example:

How to display data in detail block from a table.

i have 2 blocks. 1 is master block and another is detail block with multiple records.
the requirement is when i navigate to the detail block the data from a table is displayed in it. using a where clause depend on the value in an item in the master block.
i wrote the following code and tried in when-new-block-instance, when-new-record-instance, pre-block and post-block

the above 2 tables are datablocks connected via relation

i tried my code on the sample tables with scott/tiger there it works good.

How to query the master block based on one of the values in detail block

Hi,
In version 6i forms, I have a field in data block which is not set as a database item. I am using that field to store a value from detail block. If I want to query the form using that field (which represents one of the values from detail block), how do I do that? Any pointers?

Do you want to query a master, which contains a specific detail? If so, here's an example how you could do it with a PRE-QUERY-trigger:

Help needed in XML Bursting to set printer details

In xml bursting to set the printer details, we need to Specify the printer attribute as a URI such as:"ipp://myprintserver:631/printers/printername"
Here I am getting printername dynamically from report. But I am
not understanding "ipp://myprintserver:631/printers". Here What I have to give?
Please help me in this.

Which environment are you trying this in ? In Enterprise server, bursting is defined by a SQL query which can be run against the table that you want. So you can even populate the printer name from your query. So the URI, ipp://myprintserver:631/printers/printername" is the syntax. In your case you have to create this string in your SQL query by concatenating the parts "ipp://" + printername + ":631/". If there is a name to the printer in the printserver, then that too can be concatenated.
In case this is in EBS , the same has to be done in the control file.

Recommended best practice to fetch detail block based on procedure

I am creating a detail block (Dept)based on procedure which will be populated from the value from master block 'Emp'.
For example,
Detail block 'Dept' will be populated by calling procedure populate_detail(:emp.empno in number,dept.deptno out number) .
But what are the triggers I need to call to populate detail block and at which level?
I was thinking to call a WHEN-MOUSE-DOUBLECLICK on master block 'Emp' level to populate the detail block 'Dept' by calling the procedure and passing emp.empno as the parameter whenever the user moves from one master record to another.
Please advise.

Duplicate Item in Details Block

Dear Expert,
I written some code for checking of the same item in detail block, when I am using keyboard it is runing ok, but when I nevigate the same from mouse to another item, it will not check the duplicate item, my problem is when I move the mouse from one filed to another my Item-Code will be validate every time when I leave the mouse from One Item to another.
Please give me your expert adive.

How to get number of lines entered in detail block

Hi ,
Below is my requirement, I am calling custom form from standard RCV transactions form.
Below are parameters : PO NUMBER, RCPT NUM, QTY. These values will be passed from standard form to custom form and these values will be stored at header level in my custom form.
Based on the Quantity, I have to validate my detail block. For eg. If my quantiry is 10, my detail block items should not less or greater than 10.
Can any one please suggest me how to achieve this. I tried SYSTEM.TRIGGER current record etc,. I am getting below issue. If I place my cursor on any other record rather than last record it is throwing error. SO any experts please help here.

You can use a calulated item of type summary for this. set the following propertie for a newly created item in your detail block
-Summary type=Summary
-Summary function=Count
-Summarized block=your detail block
-summarized item=any Required item in your detail block
Now you can check the number of records with that item.

Try creating records in detail block in the when new block instance trigger of
detail block. Set the validation unit property of the form to FORM before trying this.

HOWTO: Avoid go to detail block without fullfill the master block?

Hi:
I have a master detail form with 2 blocks. When the user open the form the focus is on the first text item (required = yes) of the master block. If the user tries to get out of that item with keyboard (tab or enter), it gets the correct message saying that the item is required and must be filled. But the problem starts when the user click with the mouse on another item of the detail block. Here, I will have 8 or 9 messages saying that is impossible to create records without a master record. This is really annoying. This message has no ID (FRM-XXXXX), and I really must get a way to forbide users to go to the detail block without filling required items in the master.
Anyone?

How to display total in a block without total showing up in relevant detail block

Hi there,
          I create a worksheet, including two block, one of which have detail information with multiple characts and one key figure, another block only have sumerization information takes one cell, which is summarized key figure for that detail information block.
         I implement this summary cell with formula 'GETDATA', but it is only effective after I show total for detail block.
        such as for detail block:
                     employee_no, wage type, earning_amount.
                     overall result                        total for earning_amount
        for summary block:
                     summary of earning_amount for all employees in the detail block.
please tell me how to display summary block without pulling in overall result for detail block.

This can be a work around
As Michael Tocik suggested
goto components tab, right click on data source and select copy
do not insert cross tab
then use the formula for DS_2 like
=SAPGetData("DS_2","earning_amount","employee_no=TOTAL")
this should work.
and if you do any drill down for DS_1, the above total will not chnage because that is dependent on DS_2

FRM-40654 error in master-detail form while deleting record in detail block

Hi,
I am facing an issue in a custom form which is a Master-detail form while deleting a record in detail block. It is giving an error "FRM-40654 Record has been Updated by another user. Re-query to see change". I have checked the record is matching with that in database.
Can anyone help on this.

Hi jan,
master block is based on Table "A" and detail block is based on a View "X".
View "X" definitions includes the tables "A","B","C" etc..
Now I have tried removing table"A" from view "X", even then the same error is ocuuring but the lock is happening on table "B" instead of "A"
