Printing In  CS4 Help!!!

In CS3 you could print multiple images on a sheet like a photo studio by going to File-Automate-Print Package and in CS4 that option isn't there and I can't find any information on it. Does anyone know what I am talking about or can anyone help me Please???? Thank YOU

In Elements 5.0 (and maybe others) there is an extraordinarily useful, but apparently totally undocumented feature, whereby hitting Control-N opens up a new sheet in whatever size you specify, and onto which you can drag (from the Photo Bin) two, three, four, any number of photos you want, resize them and arrange them as you like, provide them with captions or descriptions if you like. And then you can print them, save them if you like, etc.
CS4 will open a similar sheet with Control-N, but how you drag or otherwise place photos onto it remains a mystery to me (I'm new to CS4) because there seems to be no equivalent to the Photo Bin. So at the moment I keep PE 5.0 on my computer for this kind of printing.
Why is there no information to be had on Control-N? or if it's there, why is it so well hidden?

I have just started using CS4, having upgraded from CS2.  When I go to print in the print dialog box and go to the Printer Profiles box I am unable to see or select my paper profiles for my Epson 2200 and R300 printers.  There is a large number of profiles, primarily various color spaces, but only one paper profile for my Epson 2200.  There also isn't any arrow or other way to scroll through the display to see the missing paper profiles.  All of the missing profiles are the standard paper profiles provided by Epson either with the printers or from their website.  Do I need to reinstall these profiles in some way in CS4 or is there something else I should be doing to be able to access these profiles?

    Mark,
The 2200 is a good machine. I used it for prints for a museum show. Some sold.
I'm glad the problem is solved.
One problem is the color changing, depending upon light source, pigments. I normally use matte papers so "bronzing" never was much of a problem.
Thanks for the tip! I am not happy about the "ease" of use of either Photoshop's printing post CS OR the driver for the new Epson.

    Bill,
Thanks for your response to my question.  After not getting any responses
to my question for several days I went back to CS4 and tried again to
locate the paper profiles.  At that time I learned that although there is
no arrow to allow scrolling through the list of profiles I could click on
the list and use the mouse wheel to scroll through the list.  At that
point I could see that all my paper profiles were available.
Thanks again for your help.  My 2200 keeps going along.  Sometimes it
amazes my how durable it has been.

Do your paper profiles show up when you try to soft proof the images in
CS-4? if you still have CS-2 installed, does IT show them? This should
confirm that they haven't been corrupted, erased, hexed, etc.
    Â
Have you tried soft proofing, and leaving soft proof turned on while
trying to print? I had to do that when i switched from CS-2 to CS-4, but I
also, at the same time, switched to a different Epson printer when my 2200
    finally died.
    Â
I hope this is of some help.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running?  You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:
    Printer Driver v9.33
Epson Stylus Pro 3880, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:  have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:
How to Reset Photoshop CS6’s Preferences File | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV
    Mac OS
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

PowerBook G4 wont read external HD, Ipod, Printer, Shufflel - ahhhh, help?
Im not the whizziest on computers, other than lve tried a few things and nothing seems to work - lm open to any suggestions. Each external device makes sounds, which sounds like they are working fine, its just that all of a sudden, my mac wont read them?

Well, Bluetooth has nothing to do with USB. (Unless you confused a wireless USB mouse with a Bluetooth mouse. Bluetooth mice require no adapters with Bluetooth built-in to our PowerBook model. If you were using a special adapter that plugs into your USB port in order to make your mouse wireless, then that is a Wireless USB mouse... which means that your USB ports are functioning in a way, but more malfunctioning than operating correctly).
Here are two places that repair logic boards that I know of:
    1) http://macservice.com/powerbookg412.html
    ($495)
    2) http://www.techrestore.com/xcart/home.php?cat=252
(choose your speed service, then indicate what needs to be replaced,
and it will tell you what the costs will be)
    3) Apple Store Genius Bar
(make an appointment and have them diagnose it for "free" and let
them tell you what they think is wrong... BEFORE they take it in and
in turn, charge you for repairs. Usually a diagnosis at the Genius
Bar won't cost anything. If they take it in and pop it open to make
a full diagnosis, that's when the charge for labor comes in. The look-
over and pre-diagnosis is usually free... that way you can decide if
you want to repair, do something else like buy a new computer, etc.)
    Are you still in warranty?
I wish I could've helped you more. We've gone this far. Last thing. Does your FireWire port work? And what about the other ports, like mini DVI, sound out, etc.? Ethernet?
    (I'll be back later tonight).

Sorry. That's what the "D" option was according to the other manual I read on the internet. (I can't say it's name). If all else fails, that is the final step. A necessary repair of the logic board. (Odd that the Apple Hardware Test does not report any errors! It may not be necessarily logic board failure. That's why I recommend going to Apple... that is, if you have one near you. I have four close to me so I'm lucky. If you have the same luxury, get different opinions from each Apple Genius... trust me on that one).

  • Dynamic Text won't Print - Ahhhh! Help!!!

I'm importing a png file using an xml file and a text file
for importing text. The image and text show up fine, but when I
PRINT, both don't show up. I"VE GOT TO GO LIVE WITH THIS TODAY. It
    has to Print! PLEASE HELP!

I found my own answer and thought I should share it with all
of you. Since I was so surprised that you had to use ActionScript
to tell the movie to allow dynamic text or a dynamic png files to
print. You basically add the following lines for each instance of
dyanmica text or for a movie clip. I was alos using a prebuilt
component, so I had to give this component an instance name.
    function printpic(){
    print(this.pic, "bframe");
I called the function printpic just to stay in alignment with
the instance name of the movie clip on the stage which was pic.
Then everything printed like it was suppose to.

Having downloaded Yosemite, I find that I can't enlarge the print on the Help pages.   The 'Command +' keystroke doesn't seem to work.   Anybody any ideas as to how to do it in the new OS X 10.10 ?

    Hi ..
Command + T should definitely work.
Restart your Mac then try again.
If that doesn't help, a Safe Mode boot deletes some system caches that may help after an OS X upgrade.
Top left corner of your screen click the  Apple   > Shut Down.
After your Mac shuts down, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key. You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.
Once you are in Safe Mode, go back to the Apple  menu. From the drop down menu click:  Restart
Then try enlarging the text in a Help window.
    About Safe Mode.

  • Ridiculous printing problem - please help!

Hello, I have Photoshop CS5 and an Artisan 800 printer, and I'm in the middle of the biggest printer nightmare I've ever had.
I need to print a DVD insert, printing to regular letter paper in landscape mode.  11x8.5.  Landscape is selected.  Letter is selected in the printer.  So both Photoshop and the printer know they're dealing with the same size.  But when I click print, I get the stupid 'Image is larger than paper's printable area, some clipping will occur' warning, which is weird, because the image size and the paper size are exactly the same.
Then things actually start getting weird.  If I tell it to print anyway, it cuts the image off a few inches before the end of the righthand side of the page.  If I tell it to scale to fit media, then print, it cuts the image off at the same spot, as if nothing was changed.  My PPI is 300.  I've checked and rechecked that the settings are the same on the printer and in photoshop.
Finally, I figured maybe it was somehow just my document causing the problem.  So I open a new document, and tell it to print just a regular 8.5x11 letter.  Didn't even put anything there.  Just printing a blank page.
It says it's too big to fit on the paper!
I'm working on a fairly big job right now and need to print forty of these things by Monday.  I'd really rather not have to go to Kinko's or something, as this is all out of my pocket.  Plus I can't believe that with a program I spent this much money on, and a two hundred dollar printer, an 8.5x11 page is too big for me to print.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have not provided enough information for others to help or clarify things for you..
What exact version of Photoshop are you on?  12.0.4? 12.1?  Perhaps you have not applied any updates at all?
What exact version of the OS are you running?
What exact version of the printer driver?
What are the exact pixel dimensions of your image?  (How many pixels wide by how many pixels high?)
Please read this FAQ for advice on how to ask your questions correctly for quicker and better answers:

  • Property inspector cut off [was: CS4 help]

    Hello all,
I just got a new computer with windows vista 64 bit.  With this new computer, I got a new CS4 package.  In dreamweaver, the properties pannel on the bottom of the screen cuts off and does not show all the stuff that it used to.  For example, I can see the word Target, but there is not dropdown box for me to select which target I want to select.  Is there a way to fix this so everything is viewable?
    Thanks

This is all kind of like sneaking into Santa's bag to see if the new toys he's gonna bring us are durable enough to play with until NEXT Christmas, when it's only a couple of weeks away from THIS Christmas.
(By the way, if you don't celebrate Christmas, you're really missing out...not just on the holiday itself, but you're also missing out on my metaphor).
I'm just about positive that everything's not going to work as well as we want, that it's not going to do quite enough of the stuff we need it to do, and that there will be bugs. The people who scream the loudest about current missing features or feature requests will probably be continuing the trend in the near future. Adobe reps will be very interactive on the forums for a few weeks or months while we all troubleshoot in our working environments and then they will disappear until it gets close to the next release.
BONUS ROUND - Mobutu (or jujufactory...right?) will still not upgrade, and will still demand support in a software he doesn't use for hardware that he doesn't use while likewise judging everything invented prior to the last 5 weeks to be "OBSOLETE!!"
Have I pretty much summed it all up?
At any rate, I would expect Dynamic Link in Encore to work the same way as Dynamic Link in PPro. In PPro, you can import multiple AE compositions through Dynamic Link. In Encore, you can import multiple AE comps as well. So...pretty likely that Encore will handle PPro sequences likewise. AE comps currently work fine with the Automatic transcode settings, so I'm guessing that carries over to PPro.
One of the After Effects documentation guys just provided a summary (per forum user request) of EVERYTHING that was modified/added/removed in CS4, in spite of the various ways of gleaning the information from the online docs. So...maybe if we keep hollering, we'll get the same thing here....?
C'mon Adobe...it's not like you're busy working on CS4 anymore. After all, the release of CS5 is only ONE YEAR AWAY!!! GO GO GO!!!
Final thoughts...I like how the press releases always refer to each release now as the "biggest product launch in Adobe's history." Isn't that to be expected? Shouldn't we expect each version to be "bigger" than the last? I mean, what else are they gonna say? "Well, you know...CS4, it's pretty good, VERY good actually. But the last version was a lot more meaningful. A lot more exciting. That last one was AWESOME. Well...we'll still try to make something out of this."
