Printing in Web Based PDF

I have a strange problem with the printer and hope someone can help.
HP Printer Deskjet All In One F4440
Windows 7 64 Bit
With my job, I have to print a lot stuff where the pdf is already embedded in the site.
When I go to Print/Properties (from inside page), it does not work! It clicks, but does not go to the screen to change settings.
By default, I have print settings at Fast Ecomical. But of course, it prints in fine mode here.
It only does this on adobe pdf files. If I save the file, and open with adobe reader the properties button works fine!
Can someone please help?

  • When printing web based .pdf or regular .pdf I get message "This document failed to print"

When printing web based .pdf or regular .pdf I get message "This document failed to print".  I've ran the HP Diagonistic tool and no errors are found.  I've gotten the same message on many different .pdf's so I don't believe it is a margin issue.

Are the static IP addresses inside the DHCP range?  If so, move them to ones outside the range.
Also, have you set the IP address in the printers' embedded web pages (via IP address in a browser) to match the ones set in the router?

  • I am experiencing difficulties opening some web-based PDF files on my iPad. I was having the same difficulty opening the same PDFs on my iMac (after I upgrade to Yosemite) but was able to overcome it by adjusting the Adobe Reader plug-in settings.

I am experiencing difficulty opening some web-based PDF documents on my iPad. I had exactly the same difficulty on my iMac (after I upgraded to Yosemite) but was able to overcome it by adjusting the Adobe Reader plug-in security settings in Safari (in OSX).
Unfortunately there does not seem to be a way to similarity adjust the security settings in Safari in iOS 8.
The message I get when I attempt to open the PDF (on my iPad) is as follows:
"To view the full contents of this document you need a later version of PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from ..."
Needless to say this is unhelpful for two reasons:
    - I have the very latest version of Adobe Reader; and
    - in iOS Adobe Reader is not a plug-in and plays absolutely no role in opening web-based PDF documents.
If anyone has experienced this difficulty and has been able to overcome it I would be most appreciative to hear of you solution.
    Cheers

  • X Pro and Flash Player Error with web-based PDF readbook

Everytime I try to view a web-based PDF book (with multiple PDF files) I get an error/alert that reads:
"To View the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat."
    I am currently using:
    IE Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
    Adobe Reader X 10.1.7
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.4
    Shockwave 12.0.2 Development
I have all of the appropriate settings enabled/disabled in the browser. Before I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro the files opened perfectly in IE9. I believe, but am unsure, that I was just using Reader X at that point.
Of note...the PDF books in question still open perfectly if I DOWNLOAD the file and open it from the desktop. The issue is when I try to view it in the browser(a setting enabled in the preferences). This is an issue because I don't have the time or space to download these files and need to view them in the browser for efficiency.

You would usually get this message if you don't have the Flash Player plugin installed.  However I do not quite understand why you get that message when viewing a PDF in the browser, but not when viewing it from your local disk.

  • In Safari, opening a web-based pdf results in a black page?

Whn I am using Safari which is  the default browser on my IMAC, opening a web-based pdf results in a black page? This does not happen when using firefox. Also does not happen when opening an emailed pdf.

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Web based PDF Doc question - not sure how to describe

My manager has asked that I research a way to change a web based pdf file to allow fellow co-workers to either download it has a whole, or just sections of it.  I've tried looked into bookmarks and portfolio, but it just doesn't seem to do what he requires.

You should have a Binder for your complete PDF and separate section files individually constructed for each chapter or section
that should be available as a portion of the whole.  So, in essence you would create individual PDF's first then collect
them into a single PDF Binder (not a Portfolio)

  • How do I open a web based PDF document on my iPad?

I am unable to open web based PDF documents as I fear Apple does not trust PDF documents on the Web.

    Hi Rick,
Did you try attaching screenshots to your reply to the email from this forum?  Because the Adobe forums do not accept any type of attachments for security reasons, your photo attachments did not get through.  Sorry about that.
But I think I know what you saw when you tried to open one of the PDF Application Forms on the Alberta (Canadian) government web site.
Did you see a message like this in Safari on your iPad?
Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting  http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
If so, the PDF form is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form".  The message is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.
As far as I know, there are no iOS apps that support dynamic XFA forms. The mobile version of Adobe Reader does not support dynamic XFA forms.  Neither does Safari or iBooks on iOS.  It's the limitation of mobile PDF viewer apps.
    To recap
Dynamic or static XFA forms - Use the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat on a Mac or Windows computer.
Most PDF documents and non-XFA forms - Use the mobile or desktop version of Adobe Reader.
Please note that Apple iOS apps (such as Mail, Safari, and iBooks) do not display filled form data or annotations (sticky notes, highlight, etc.) at all.  If a PDF document/form is first opened in Mail, Safari, or iBooks, you need to use the iOS "Open In" feature to open it in Adobe Reader for iOS.
How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad on iOS 7 or 8 version)
(This is the same FAQ document that I mentioned in my reply #2 above.)
In this particular case, using the "Open In" feature to transfer the PDF Application Form from Safari to Adobe Reader for iOS does not help.  Because Adobe Reader for iOS cannot display the dynamically generated content of the XFA form from the Alberta government web site.
But you should be able to open other "regular" PDF documents (just like the one that I provided as a sample link) in Adobe Reader for iOS.
Hope this helps.  Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Blank Adobe Pop-Up after trying to open a web-based .pdf?

When I try to open an adobe file through IE8, a blank pop-up from Adobe shows up.  I'm not sure what it means, and the .pdf doesn't open after that pop-up.  What is this?
I've attached a screen shot of what I am seeing.  The blank box in the background should be the pdf & the example of the Adobe pop-up is in the foreground.
    Thanks!

    Hi
It happens with almost all .pdfs that are web-based.  For instance, it will not open this file: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA3-7370ENW (hp.com fact sheet).
Any files that I have saved to my PC do not have this issue.

  • PLEASE ADVISE: I cannot open web based PDF

Further to my query 2 days ago, when I could not open pdf document on a web based course, now I cannot open any pdf on any web site!

    I started a web-based course, reputable site.
The web stated Safari is the best for the media used in the course.
First attempt: could not complete, needs Adobe flashplayer (though I set the Safari preference security to "allow all other plugins").
OK, I installed this, and hurray! excellent.
Then there are links of the "manual" to read through the course. Opens blank tab, with message states: needs Adobe Reader. I do not have this.
OK, go to main Adobe web site, download and install. This wants to be the "default" instead of Preview.
Nope, do not want the change of my default. But then, have to make the change.
Nope, Adobe Reader not opening the link.
Now, I un-installed (deleted) the Adobe Reader, kept the Adobe Flashplayer. Still can not read any material in the links (blank tab), normally or usually, any pdf will open when the security preference is to "allow all other plugins"!!
Yes, I can do the course, but I cannot read materials in any links, which are pdf. Probably will fail the test at the end. If so, who will compensate my course fee?
    Totally disappointing experience.
I looked to find where the Adobe Flashplayer is installed, but there is not any, though there is Adobe Flashplayer Uninstaller!!
    Any comments or advice?
In summary, now I cannot open any pdf web linked site.

  • Web Based PDF forms to be sent by e-mail

I write a simplistic web page for a labor union local. We have several forms we embedded as forrm fill PDF's. Members are having difficulty saving completed forms to file, and no one has succussfully submitted a file via the submit button. Anytime attempt is made to send the form from a computer that does not have Adobe Acrobat installed, an Adobe pop-up appears saying this action is not allowed. The forms were built using Adobe 5. I now have Adobe 9 Standard. Please help!
I've checked every setting I can find. The submit button is properly set to send e-mail, save and fill rights are open, printing is allowed, I'm at a loss. Any ideas a simpleton like me can accomplish?

    Hi,
Some of the abundant forms tutorials that Adobe makes available may be helpful.
These resources provide both specific and general "how-to" which may be informative.
On February 17th Adobe's Rick Borstein will present on "Easily create and edit forms" at the AUC's eSiminar.
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/events/2118/easily-create-and-edit-forms
There are recorded forms related "on demand" eSeminars available also.
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/learning_center/eseminars_on_demand
Scroll the listings, through the several "pages".
You may find the two seminars presented by Lori DeFurio a good starting point.
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/learning_center/eseminars_on_demand?page=2
The link below is to a page with the tabs "Tutorial", "Videos", "Articles" that are specific to the topic "Forms:Acrobat"
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/topics/forms-acrobat
Another good resource is Adobe's "Online events - eSeminars" - you'd scroll the list(s) to see what is of interest.
You'll need an Adobe ID (free - and email address & password). On first use, a dialog appears for install of the Connect Pro plug-in which is needed.
You can filter the list if desired.
A listing of upcoming eSeminars is at:
    http://w1000.mv.us.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=list&type=eseminar&loc=en_us
Recorded, on demand eSeminars are listed at:
    http://w1000.mv.us.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=list&type=ondemand_seminar&loc= en_us
The recently recorded eSeminar "Acrobat 9 Creating and Distributing Forms" may be of interest.
    Be well...

  • Printing to passbook printer from Web based app ?

    Hi All,
We want to move from Windows terminal server based GUI application to Java based web application (using JSP/JSF). The application must print Ticket using passbook printer : Epson Passbook Printer, TM-U950 / 0950P.
As long as I know, JDeveloper does not have feature for this, so what is the solution for my above requirement ?
    Thank you for your help,
    Krist

Hi, I don't know if there is a solution for this from Oracle JDev or other Oracle java products. But you could use an applet to print; the applet could receive the data to print through applet params and then you could use java 2D API which I believe has printer methods. And don't forget to authorize the applet to print in the client since it will be restricted.
    Hope it helps.
