Printing Problem in Report

Hi,
   I am facing a problem while printing the report.
My report is taking print from Dotmatrix printer.
But print is coming as Portrait form. I want output as Landscape. The same print when i taken from Laser jet , i got Landscape format. But the same thing i am not able to get from Dotmatrix.
   How i can achieve this.
   Pls suggest me.

Hi Pavan,
Your problem may be related to how your printers are set up in SAP. This is done by Basis people through transaction SPAD. Check those settings and talk to your basis team to change it.
Another thing that you can try is to print to 'Locl' which tells the system to use the default printer attached to your desktop instead of a printer defined within your SAP system. Make sure you make the dotmatrix printer as your default windows printer. After the test, you may revert back to your original default. Let me know if doing this way also results in a lanscape mode print.

hi, i dont know where to post this quastion, but please please i need help
i have created an application using forms & reports 6i and database 9i,in this application i run a report which prints an id card
i use card printer ( fargo cardpro printer) to print this report, and it is working fine
recently i started to use a new card printer (zebra P12i)
when ever i give the printing request the report get stuk and my application closes and i get this message ( Reports background engine has encountered a problem and needs to close , we are sorry for the inconvenience)
i compiled the report and tried again, reinstalled forms and reports again , i changed my PC, but still i have the same problem.

PRINTING PROBLEM IN REPORTS

I am facing following printing problems in Developer 2000 (Report Builder).
1. By default Developer 2000 report building is printing in BMP Mode which is very slow on Dotmatrix Printers (LQ/FX).
2. I want to fast my printing speed on Dotmatrix printers. I have done a tremendous efforts in this regard but all in vain.
3. The printer carriage must print two line of printing data in one circle. Example: For going to right must print one line and coming to back towards must printing second line. (Printing like DOS Mode).
An early reply to my question will be much appreciated.

It may be useful to give a try in Character Mode.
Change the MODE in System Parameter to CHARACTER.(Caoution:You may not see any postscript things)

Landscape page printing problem in report 3.0

Hi,
I am facing the problem in printing the report output on the
landscape page from report 3.0.I have changed the system
orientation property from default to landscape.But still report
output printing on as a portrait page.
Is there any another way to print the report output on the
landscape page ?

Have a look at System Parameter Orientation in your affected
Report.
I think from Reports 6i on you'll also have the Orientation
Property in Header-, Body- and Trailor-Section of Layout Model.

ALV print problems for reports with two sort fields and subtotal at each

When a report has two sort fields and subtotal at each of them, the print function is not working correctly. Please see the report below.
The second "" (single star) record (the 10 RL record) and the '*' (double star) record (the 12 RL record) are not printing.
This is happening for any standard SAP reports. Any resolution? Any OSS Notes?

ALV Grid and Icon : Printing Problem

Hi, i develop some reports using ALV Grid and Icon and i'm facing printing problem, all report that using ALV grid with the option icon = 'X' cannot print properly, all the character field showing improper icon instead of the text. While all the ALV grid report with the option icon = ' ' can print normally.

Mac 10.6.5 HP LaserJet 1022 printing problem persists

Hi All,
I still couldn't get my HP 1022 prints after updating to 10.6.5 where the release said it fixes some HP printer problem connected to Airport Extreme. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4250) Mine is connected to Airport extreme too. Installed the 2.5.2 HP printer update too!!
When I print document with multiple pages, the alert LED started blinking after printer the first few pages... Sigh... I did those reset printing system procedures and restarted my Airport extreme... no dice...
Wanna ask if other HP LJ 1022 printer owner has got their problem solved or not.

*BUGS IN UPDATE OS-X 10.6.5*
Updating new or older Intel Mac's to snow leopard to 10.6.5 will result in problems
with several HP printers (both wired and wireless with airport express basestion).
It doesn't mather if you also update the HP-printersoftware to version 2.5.2.
The problem exists...
After printing only one page, all the lights on the printer itself are flashing
(see also youtube video from German Apple users: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s7gZYA2Kj4)
No more than one page is printing.
And the printer won't print anymore, untill you turn it off and back on (hard reset).
SOLUTION
Connect the HP printer (for instance the HP 1022) wired to your Apple Intel computer.
Choose the Gutenprint driver (in stead of the HP driver 1.3.0.261) when adding a (standard)
printer in System preferences.
The printer will now work fine.
Unfortunately the Gutenprint driver won't work in combination with with wireless printing
to a HP printer with a airport express basesation.
*EPSON printing problems*
Other printer problems are reported with professional Epson large format printers.
Several Epson drivers won't work in OS-X 10.6.4 and in 10.6.5
Not directly and not tru a RIP printing server (Windows or Mac).
The temporary solution is choosing a general post script printer driver,
in stead of the Epson driver, when adding a printer in system preferences.

Drill-Down Report Printing Problem for Selection Parameters

Dear Experts,
Have tried to configure Drill-Down Report for Vendor Balances,
Am having trouble when printing this drill-down report, Printing is coming OK but it comes with ALL selection parameters, for e.g, have entered 20 vendor codes for the balance display, system first prints all selection parameters and then it prints the output of vendor balances,
User does not want selection Parameters to be printed with the Report Output. Please find below screenshot for the problem.

Report printing problem in Oracle Report 10g

Hi group,
I have one report which I am callinng from form. Out put is comming directly in PDF format, While taking printout on EPSON Printer allignment is not comming properly.
But If i convert in to text format and print from MS-DOS prompt on same printer it is comming properly.
Now want to print same in report builder directly in first way. whole environment is on Oracle AS and server is LINUX and client machine is windows
Please revert back, It can be a great help for me.

Crystal report printing problem in Malayalam

Hi,
I have a printing problem in Malayalam in crystal report.The viewer displays the correct font but the printed output displays the square boxes.I have installed the font.I am using Visual studio 2010 and crystal report 13.0 version.what could be the problem???

Printing problem in seagate crystal report 8

Plz help me to solve this problem
The report in preview mode looks very good when I print it the paper appear not as in the preview mode.
EX. the report in crystal 1 paper . in the printed copy 2 or 3 papers and the design is damaged.
the printer type : HP Laser Jet P2015 Series PCL 5e.

What tool did you use when preview the Crystal Report? In VB6, .Net or etc., If it is development stage what is your printer settings? Dot Matrix or the Laser Printer, this is one of the cause, Try to print in the other printer let see if we have the same result.

Report print problems windows 7

Hi All,
Am trying to get to the bottom of a really weird error that occurs periodically.
When trying to print an HTML report using the Print Report VI occasionally an IE error is thrown. An error dialogue with some info is shown, it says the error occurs in res://ieframe.dll/preview.js which is clearly not part of my LabVIEW code. Note this does not come out of the error cluster, it is generated within the ActiveX node itself.
Any body have similar problems?
Using LV2010 (32-bit) on Windows 7. Have tried installing latest versions of IE etc and it does not solve the problem.

Hi nrp,
This seems to be more of a Windows error but it could be related to how LabVIEW is trying to communicate with IE too. I would recommend that you try the official example and see what happens. There is a VI in the Example Finder called HTML Report. It shows you how to correctly create a HTML report. There is also an example by the name of PrintControlReport.vi. This shows how you can then print any report that you’ve created. The combination of the two should give you what you need.

Report Called from FORMS having Printing Problem

Hi all
Guys i have a report problem in reports 6i.
I am calling a report from my FORM 6i directly to printer (a dot matrix printer).
I have set
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DesType',TEXT_PARAMETER,'printer');
The report is actually a confirmation report and i have given its layout height equal to 3.7 . But when i send it to printer it ejects the paper equal to 11 (equal to height of a portarait report).
How can manage this ejection from Form or Report Side.
NOTE : This problem occurs even if print the report from report preview(means not printed directlty from FORM).
Kindly help me with this if any.
I need it urgent.

with the Oracle reports. I have a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ-300, which is a
tractor feed printer). While printing a report which is always not more than half a
page, the printer does not stop after printing the report(the half page). It stops at
the end of the page. I mean that half the page is printed and the rest half is blank.
I want that the printer should print only at half a page. On the blank half it should
print another copy of same report.

i have made one oracle 6i reports. its is quite wide.when i run the report it shrink into too small font.
and i increse it font size it by pressing + button on menu bar it looks okay.

The report rendering engine tries to fit the report page into the physical page size. This results in shrinking of font size,etc.
To fix
a) reduce the content on the report to something reasonable for printing.(Std paper sizes and orientation)
b) change the page size selection. Of course, you will need a printer and paper of the size you set.

I have a problem that in printer friendly mode I want to take a report output to printer.But my report columns are too more and it is difficult to fit all to the page.How can ı success this please help me .I searched in forum some suggest media style sheet .How can I use this for my problem .I am waiting your helps!

To print directly, you have to have the printer installed on the application server. This is where the report is created, not on your client PC.
The only way around this is to use the ORARRP tool, but this involves installing software on the client PC and modifying your web server settings.
