Printing Query data to MsWord Template.

Dear all,
I have some requirement, I want to print my query data on MS word or Open Office template from java or oracle packages. Using oracle version Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2 and Oracle 10g R2.
Is there any way?
Best regards,

You have different possibility...
First.. you can have a template of open office stored in BLOB and then you can unzip the sxw file on the database with java stored procedure.. and
you can modify the xml file inside the sxw file with your data from query..
Second you can use FOP libraries from apache community to write the data in word file... or you can use OLE to do it..
Thirs.. you can use Open Office as server listener and using UNO libraries you can doo everything with it..
Just look at the oppen office api ... http://api.openoffice.org/

  • Multiple PS Query Data Sources in RTF Template

    Is it possible to use two PS Queries as Data Sources on an RTF template in XML Publisher?
    There is a field in the main Data Source (PS Query) that needs to join to some other tables. This slows down the query considerably even after tweaking the join and tuning, etc. Instead of doing the join in the main PS Query Data Source, can we do any of these?
    1. Do a select statement inside an RTF template Form Field?
    2. Use two PS Queries on the same RTF template?
    3. Import a sub template that uses its own PS Query Data Source for the field?
    Hope this makes sense. Thank you.

    You can have multiple data models and then use the 'concatenated SQL data source' to generate a single xml file that includes data based on both queries. You can not do a select statement inside a RTF template.
    Within the RTF template you can write logic to join the two data sets... see this blog post:http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/formatting_concatenated_dataso

  • Different LOV behavior between SQL query data model and data template

    I have noticed different behavior when using parameters linked to list of values (LOV) of type menu with the multiple selection option enabled and a SQL query data model vs a data template. Here's the example because that first sentence was probably really confusing.
    SQL Query:
    select
    plmc.MonthCode, plmc.ModalityDim, plmc.ModalityName,plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(:modalityDim,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (:modalityDim)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
    Putting BI Publisher into debug mode, defining a data model of type SQL Query, defining a parameter called :modalityDim linked to a LOV that allows multiple selections, and selecting a couple of values from the LOV the output of the prepared statement is:
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] Sql Query : select
    plmc.MonthCode,
    plmc.ModalityDim,
    plmc.ModalityName,
    plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(?,?,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (?,?)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 1:6
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 2:7
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 3:6
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 4:7
    [081607_122654713][][EVENT] Data Generation Completed...
    [081607_122654713][][EVENT] Total Data Generation Time 7.0 seconds
    Note how the bind variable :modalityDim was changed into two parameters in the prepared statement.
    When I use this same SQL Query in a data template the output is:
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] Sql Query : select
    plmc.MonthCode,
    plmc.ModalityDim,
    plmc.ModalityName,
    plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(?,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (?)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] 1:'6','7'
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] 2:'6','7'
    [081607_012113574][][EXCEPTION] java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error converting the nvarchar value ''6','7'' to a column of data type int.
    Note the exception because it is trying to convert the multiple parameter values.
    Am I doing something completely wrong here? I really need to use a data template because I will need to link a couple of queries together from different database vendors.
    -mark

    This is for 10.1.3.4 - because in 11g every SQL query is automatially part of a data model.
    In 10g SQL query is for simple unrelated SQL queries.
    If you need to use advance features such as:
    a) multiple SQL queries that are joined in master-detail relation ships
    b) before/after report triggers
    Then you will need to use the data template, which is an XML description
    of the queries, links, and PL/SQL calls.
    hope that helps,

  • Crystal Reports Templates usage - SAP BW MDX query data

    Hi Ingo,
    How are you?
    I am experiencing issues with crystal reports when trying to use crystal reports templates with SAP BW data.
    I have successfully created Crystal Report using SAP BW data with NodeID,  ParentNodeID hierarchy, Crystal Hierarchical Grouping.
    Also developed Xcelsius Dashboard using Live Office --> Crystal Report (SAP BW data) with refresh data on open.
    Now trying to create a template for new crystal reports to be designedu2026
    The following are observed by me:
    1.     When I create a crystal report using Report Wizard and select  templates from  the list shown, the following error displayed for SAP BW data:
    2.     When I try to apply template using Template Expert and selecting the report which is created using SAP BW data (and formatted), the following error displayed:
    u201CCould not apply template to the documentu201D
    I would like to know, whether there are known issues with Crystal Reports Templates using SAP BW data?  If so, could you suggest any solutions/work around to this issue?
    Thanks & Regards,
    S.Salai Manimudiyan

    I tried the following three methods:
    1. Applied all the 12 Crystal Templates
    2. Applied my own reports as Template
    3. Also applied Crystal Report developed using Templates Fileds.
    None of the above is working.
    Created a report with BW query data and try to apply all the above templates but the same issue.
    If I create a report using eFashion universe and apply all the above works without any problem.
    I do agree with you that templates should not depend on the data source, as it is mainly for the common/standard report page layout (to reuse)...
    Could you pl. check at your end and let me know the results.
    Thanks & Regards,
    S.Salai Manimudiyan

  • How to print formatted data / report on user's printer in Web Application

    Hi All
    I want to print some formatted data/report ( it might be 1000 pages) on user's printer.
    application is web based and tech. used are Java - jsp - servlets
    now prob. is ...
    how i will transfer all data to client (web browser) from the server and how i can print that data on user's printer ...??
    there is requirement that I can not use applet for this purpose.
    if any one done or have idea then let me know.
    thanks

    Hi
    Its simple, first of all break ur data in terms of pages. Write the logic in one JSP.
    suppose i have jsp PrintReport.jsp , for page 1 url will PrintReport.jsp?page=0 ... so on
    get the page parameter in JSP
    String page="";
    if(request.getParameter("page")!=null)
    page=request.getParameter("page");
    get the rowcount from the Result and assume records per page is 100
    if u have 1000 rows then 10 pages u have to serve
    StartRowNumber=page*recordsPerPage
    EndRowNumber=StartRowNumber+recordsPerPage
    Execute a SQL query , select * from table where rownum between
    StartRowNumber and EndRowNumber
    Provide google like pageNumbers in ur HTML page
    ie 1 2 3 4 5 6 ..10
    Regarding printing , Create HTML button called 'print' and add Javascript ' window.print()' on clicking it.
    Hope it would solve ur problem

  • Is there a way to consolidate calculations used in SQL Query Data Sets?

    I am building SQL Query Data Sets against multiple DB Views which all have different date formats. I have the date parameter working well, but want to consolidate the changes that I have to do to it especially for the quarter. For example the SQL against a monthly view would use "where year_month > to_char(:ST_DATE, 'YYYY-MM')" which is not too hard, but to make that work for the quarterly view I need several concats and a decode to get a "> '2012-Q2'". I would like not to have to do this within every where clause. I had put this into a global element hoping to use that in a filter for the data set, but the filter does not have access to global elements only parameters.
    Is there any way to refer to a calculated global element from the data set to do this? I am using Layout Templates, so even if I wanted to I could not do the condition within the template.
         Thanks,
         Rick

    Change the following line to include the red coloured parts
    <div class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="ds4" spry:setrow="ds4" spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">
      <span>{Dsp_#}</span><span>{Dsp_WkDay}</span><span>{Dsp_Event}</span>
    </div>
    The add the following style rule to your document:
    .MasterColumn span {
        display: inline-block;
    I hope this helps.

  • Printing iGrid data

    hi
      i am facing the problem of printing iGrid value.
    if the Grid has no scroll bar than i can easily print the value.

    Is there any way to solve this problem.

    Hi John,
    Please go through help documentation for understanding What IRPT is and how it functions...!
    On the irpt page you can declare an xMII servlet like this sort.
    <SERVLET NAME="Illuminator">
    <PARAM NAME="QueryTemplate" VALUE="<QueryName>">
    <PARAM NAME="Content-Type" VALUE="text/xml">
    <PARAM NAME="Stylesheet" VALUE="http://localhost/Illuminator/StyleSheets/Samples/DataWithPageBreaks.xsl">
    <PARAM NAME="Param.1" VALUE="">
    <PARAM NAME="Param.2" VALUE="">
    </SERVLET>
    You can even change the Stylesheet by customizing the xsl located on xMII Server and giving its path above.
    The parameters , are parameters(Param.1,Param.2)  for query above.
    The best thing in irpt is that the above parameters can be initialized on page load directly by sending them through url.So ur url will include &StartDate=<someval>&EndDate=<someval>

  • Precalculated data vs. precalculated templates

    What are the pros/cons of Precalculated data vs. precalculated templates and when is it best to use one over the other?

    Hi,
    pre-calculated value sets -
    1.  when analyzing target groups since you can specify a fixed value.
    2.  when complex selections are involved such as with a Top n inquiry, used to strongly improve query performance.
    3.  In place of variables that are filled from a query event (replaced from a query event).
    pre-calculated Web template -
       The Reporting Agent allows you to pre-calculate Web templates, that is, HTML documents with BW-specific placeholders, in the background. In the Web browser, if you call up a Web report that is structured on the basis of a pre-calculated Web template, you can access pre-calculated data without having to execute an OLAP query. This means that access time is considerably reduced as is the workload on the application server.
    Hope this helps

  • Use evdre to query data from a SQL View

    Hi all
    I believe that it is possible to use evdre to query data from a SQL View. If this is possible then how does one go about setting it up in the evdre options (assuming that the view has already been created)?
    Regards,
    Byron

    Byron,  perhaps this is no longer supported, it might be worth opening up a case at service.sap.com on this.  However, I did find the following on Page 11 of the "Usages and Considerations of EVDRE" pdf file.  This doc is imbedded in the helpfile for BPC 7 SP5 (which was released in August of 2009, well after note 1315011 was last updated.
    It looks like you are limited to one custom view per application, since you have to name the view in a parameter at the APPLICATION level.  Go into BPC Administration, login to the application related to the custom view, choose "Set Application Parameters" and enter the name of the view to the Application Parameter called "EVDRE_QUERYVIEWNAME"  If it is not listed, go ahead and create it at the bottom of the Application parameter screen.
    Also:  I interpreted the following info from Page 10 of the same doc:
    In your EVDRE, set the following options:
    QueryEngine: MANUAL
    QueryType:  enter either NEXJ  OR TUPLE  see below:
    NEXJ  - Use two-dimensional queries using the nonemptycrossjoin function
    TUPLE  - Use two-dimensional queries using tuples"
    And I'm assuming you'd enter a Y for the following two parameters:
    QueryViewName
    "..to enforce the query engine to use a used-defined SQL view of the fact tables, when trying to read the values using SQL queries. This option is typically used in conjunction with the SQLOnly option (see below). "
    Option SQLOnly
    "..to enforce the query engine to only execute SQL queries, when reading data. This can be achieved using this option."
