Privacy Statement in NW 04s

Hi,
I read documentation regarding creation of <b>Privacy statements</b> in the self registration screen.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/0761cea5c610b3e10000000a11466f/content.htm
But the documentation doesn't speak how to actually create it in the webserver. Has anybody implemented it in the registration screen.
Please share with me...
Thanks & Regards,
Ganesh N

hi,
From the documentation i can understand that the link for the privacy statement has to be made in the configtool under the property ume.admin.self.
privacystatement.link.  But where does the content for the link has to be created? It has been said in the documentation that the application lies in the webserver. How to go about creating the content for the privacy statement?
Please share with me....

  • How to change the privacy statement link url

I looked into the previous threads , could not find the answer to "Changing the privacy statement url to clients privacy statement url".
I am talking about the privacy statement URL in the page that user see it as soon as user logs into the e-business suite.
I have read the previous theads and developers guide regading how to show or hide this autofooter thing. but could not find any thing about how to change the one in the login page.I even looked ino personalization but could not find a place to change this url. please HELP.
Another question is " is it ok to show privacy statement in just the first page and hide it in rest of the application pages?"
    Thanks
    karan

Extract from Personalization Guide - Page Footer - Personalization Considerations
    * If you wish to personalize the URL that points to the Privacy Statement for a page that displays a standard Copyright and Privacy (that is, its Auto Footer property is set to true), set the Scope to OA Footer, in the Choose Personalization Context page of the Personalization UI.
    * If you wish to personalize the URL that points to the Privacy Statement for a page that displays a custom Copyright and Privacy (that is, its Auto Footer property is set to false), set the Scope to Page in the Choose Personalization Context page of the Personalization UI. In the following Page Hierarchy Personalization page , identify and personalize the Privacy page element.

  • How can I add a privacy statement to my outgoing emails, below my signature?

I'm a therapist and need to have a privacy statement/disclaimer below my signature on my outgoing emails...something like the following:
    STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVILEGE
The contents of this e-mail (including its attachments) are intended for the exclusive use of the addressee(s) and may contain confidential or privileged information. Any other distribution, copying or disclosure is strictly prohibited. Email is not a secure medium of communication and should not be used for transmitting private and confidential information.
How do I add this?? thanks, Karen

You can set up multiple signatures and select the appropriate one. Or use stationery where the signature and disclaimer are part of the template document. Or use a text clippings tool to insert ready-to-go frequently used snippets such as your disclaimer text. Many users make use of such a tool in lieu of a prepared signature.

  • Data privacy statement in ROS

    Hi all,
Kindly let me know how to add Data Privacy Statement to ROS_SELF_REG BSP page.
    Regards,
    Nikhil

    Hello Maija,
the solution for your requirement is depending on the UI technology you are using.
If you are using the web dynpro user interface there is the standard function to define the link to the data privacy statement langage dependent. You find this setting in IMG under SAP E-Recruiting -> Technical Settings -> User Interfaces -> Settings for User Interfaces with Web Dynpro ABAP -> Backend Candidate -> Store URLs for Language-Dependent Data Privacy Statements.
If you are still using the BSP UI there is no standard way to link different documents for different languages. If you are allowed to modify or enhance the system, I'd personally go for modifying or overriding method get_priv_ext of class CL_HRRCF_T77RCF_UI_PARAM. This method returns the link from the bsp customizing described in the postes above and is not language dependent. I'd just change the ui_param_type by prefixing Z plus concatenating the curent system language e.g. PRIV_EXT -> ZPRIV_EXT_E for english. If you add the possible paramtypes for all langages you have to table T77RCF_UI_PARTYP you can customize the different links for the different languages in the standard customizing table T77RCF_UI_PARAM. If you cannot or do not want to do a modification you could still get this solved by using some customer development. Noone said you have to link the document directly. You could link a customer bsp application which keeps the current logon language. In the application you could refer to different documents.

  • Privacy statement doesn't load on iPad

We just purchased an ipad 2 and can connect to itunes, but before purchasing any apps, we have to agree with the privacy statement, which won't finish loading....just keeps spinning and spinning.  How do we solve this?  Thanks

Not only do I have the same issue (on my iPad mini) but I also have some questions for Apple:
    1) iCloud backup is supposed to be the SOLUTION, not the PROBLEM, to losing data. If you want to tinker with the backups when I'm not working that's fine, but I'm entrusting my life's work to iCloud for safekeeping, so why do you reward me by making it impossible to access the LOCAL file on my iPad?
    2) If we can't rely on iCloud to give us our work when we need it, then how do you suggest we back it up for that important lecture or presentation, when not having access to the file (that lives on our device!) can mean losing a client, or being embarrassed in front of an auditorium because you can't open the Slides?
    3) Since I'm PAYING you money each year to store my backups, how do I apply for a refund for not honoring your part of the agreement, and how about some compensation for the loss of productivity and business?
    and by the way...
    4) How do you defend the slowness of your iWork apps? Switching back to Keynote or Numbers from another app can take a good 15 seconds, while I tap helplessly on a frozen screen while everyone else in the room (including myself) realizes I'm an idiot for thinking I could ditch my laptop for an iPad.
I know that Apple won't read this, at least not on this forum, but others will.

  • Spotlight Privacy State on Snow Leopard and Leopard dual boot system

I have leopard 10.5.8 running on the internal HD of my iMac, and decided to start fresh with a clean install of Snow Leopard (now 10.6.1) on a firewire drive. The game plan is to slowly add my apps as they are updated and compatability issues are ironed out, and use Super Duper to clone the SL system over to my internal once it's where I want it to be.
The issue I'm having is when I boot between the systems, whatever Spotlight privacy settings I have set on one system is transferred over to the other upon booting into it. For example, I have the SL disk in the privacy list on my Leopard system, so I don't accidentally launch the Snowy versions of Disk Utility and whatnot when using spotlight. When I boot into SL, it remains on the exclude list, so all my spotlight hits are from the Leopard system. I redo my privacy settings on SL to include the SL disk and exclude the leopard and the system re-indexes itself.
But the next time I boot into Leopard, the changes I made while in SL are carried over, and my Leopard Disk now appears in the privacy settings and SL isn't. I redo the privacy settings, wait while it reindexes, and this vicious circle continues every time I boot between systems.
Isn't the spotlight privacy settings supposed to be written to each system's disk? I tried using the app spotless, but same deal..whatever disks I include or exclude from being indexed on one system are automatically written to the other system as well.
Any ideas? Is this a bug, or how it's supposed to work? Thanks in Advance

The privacy settings for a drive are stored on the drive itself in the /.Spotlight-V100/Store-V1/VolumeConfig.plist file.
This is drive specific so if you move a drive between systems, the privacy settings are maintained. There is no practical way to solve the problem unfortunately.
You do not however, have to worry about launching Snow Leopard apps on your Leopard system. You won't be able to, receiving an error similar to "not designed for this architecture".
As an alternative, have a look at BlackTree's Quicksilver application. You could use it instead of Spotlight on one or both of your systems.

  • MAC and IP should specifically be listed "Personal Information" for all interactions in your Privacy Policy

Except for those who run cute lil' programs that could disorient or disrupt the system, possessing someone's MAC is possessing the 'true name' of at least one portion of their computer. Follow the computer in your accumulated files, and somewhere, this note even, gives you the mailing address, and a good lead on who owner is. IP address, if too static, well, same deal. With policy in place, I can feel free to run a server AND the rest of my system on the same fiber broadband line, saving me enough $/yr to buy an upgrade or two.
Let's face it, YOU are your equipment, and if I wanted to use my name, I would.

First, if you keep up a file until you can match a firewall MAC with doc with a name on it, the rest is fairly simple. Traceroute the IP, and, while NOT as easy as a return address sticker, it is a pretty easy thing to do. Mozilla admits this:
Any information that can connect even a firewall with a place or individual(s)should be defined strictly as "personal information in a privacy policy, period.
I worry about the Eternal Word, especially the records kept by suppliers of everything, including Mozilla, which, without paperwork like a subpoena or warrant,
"may share potentially-personally identifying information with its employees, contractors, service providers, and subsidiaries and related organizations. ..." Otherwise, Mozilla will not publicly release potentially-personally identifying information except under the same circumstances as Mozilla releases personally identifying information. Those circumstances are explained below, the Four Reasons Mozilla may release to companies including Google's Doubleclick Division, which crows, in privacy statements about a)getting access to all of Google's raw data, b) crunching and mashing for best web ad placement - NOT for "people like YOU" but Only for YOU the wife of Bradbury's Fireman is told, as she awaits a once-in-lifetime chance to influence the flow of a 3V soap opera..
Here's one Mozilla protection against releasing information to the PUBLIC, private industry and the governments of the world:
First, in admitting what you said above is not the case:,
"... Mozilla also collects potentially-personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, which are non-personally identifying in and of themselves but could be used in conjunction with other information to personally identify users"
What does it do with these records, which I would prefer have every identification mark removed the microsecond it arrives?
Well, if you are not in business with Mozilla, just another user:
"1. Mozilla does not publicly release information gathered in connection with commercial transactions (i.e., transactions involving money), including transactions conducted through the Mozilla Foundation Store or donations to the Mozilla Foundation.
    2. Mozilla does not publicly release personally identifying information collected in connection with an application for employment with Mozilla.
    3. Mozilla does not make publicly available information that is used to authenticate users the publication of which would compromise the security of Mozilla's websites (e.g., passwords).
    4. Mozilla does not make publicly available information that it specifically promises at the time of collection to maintain in confidence."
Part 1 is UNTRUE to the extent that Mozilla reports and/or verifies donations, either the 5 largest or everyone donating more than I think it's $30K for the annual Form IRS 990, a NfP's equivalent of a Form 1040 - the last three are generally posted on the foundation site.
Part 2 is The Law in most states.
Part 3 promises internal security to Mozilla, and says NOTHING about users.
    Part 4 avoids nasty suits.
And the list is followed by a curious statement: "Outside those four contexts, users should assume that personally identifying information provided through Mozilla's websites will be made available to the public."
What about PRIVATE transactions (purchases, trades, 'aid in kind') - curiously missing is any statement? Or 'requests' from public and private guys in suits?
Ominously, for those who regard the rapid collection of data from social networking 'harmless' or 'fun', "Mozilla may interact with you through social networks to further our mission. When you interact with us at a third-party social network, such as Facebook, Twitter, or Google +, the network gives us the ability to access and store certain information from your profile for that social network.
Like the guy who posted a copy of an ad he found for hospital lubricant in 55-gallon drums - and found himself the Facebook spokesman for a KY-Jelly-type product.
"Consistent with our privacy commitments, we will scrutinize third party requests for information about YOU for compliance with the law, including those coming from governmental agencies or civil litigants. We may access, use, preserve or disclose information about you only WHEN WE HAVE A GOOD FAITH BELIEF that it is REASONABLY necessary to do so to satisfy the applicable law, regulation, legal process or LAWFUL GOVERNMENT REQUEST OF ANY COUNTRY, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Mozilla, its users or the public. We will provide notice of legal process or governmental requests unless prohibited to do so by law or the circumstances warrant otherwise."[emphases added, words a direct quote.] Good Faith in legality of actionswas Nixon's initial excuse too - for setting up the Plumbers unit.
I would prefer a statement like:
'Mozilla Foundation and its subdivisions are committed to neither selling, trading, supplying, borrowing or using any data that can possibly be linked to a given user or volunteer.
We will fight tooth and claw on behalf of our users and participants - to resist ANY attempt by any agency, public or private, for ANY reason, including promises of money or advertising, to divulge ANY information about them to anyone, PARTICULARLY when the request comes from a government with a less-than-stellar civil/judicial rights record, according to agencies like Human Rights Watch, the European Union's human rights division, the Permanent Court of International Justice division dealing with mass murderers and the like.
We will fight as strongly against US, State or local government agency requests for information. We will place the people we work so hard to serve above ourselves, and be dragged kicking and screaming all the way to the courthouse door, with as many live net feeds and calls to the traditional public media as possible. And we will barricade any door if we fear a midnight knock.
We will provide governments outside the countries where we do business (list here) with nothing unless ordered to by US courts, at least after fighting as many rounds of appeals as we are allowed, and will publicly and politically battle any agency which attempts to get user/participant data from us. All Foundation AND subsidiary employees earning more than $150,000 a year have pledged a minimum of 10% of their salary to these battles, if needed.
We further put agencies, public and private, on notice that we maintain as little data as possible on our free and paying customers, and do not maintain a single record we are not required to keep, even if it makes our business a bit more difficult to perform.
And if we get word someone might be coming, they're liable to find all computers free of data, which, if legally possible - before a subpoena or warrant arrives, just on rumor it is coming, we will destroy everything - to the point of installing and activating scuttling devices on all disks and backups, no matter where stored. We take this protection very seriously, and would rather face a business and directory rebuild than give any information that could locate a product user.'
I'd rather like to see a statement like this as part of the Privacy Policy of every IT-related corporation in the world - though I doubt even Mozilla has the nerve or commitment to its manifesto. We wont ever see anything like it - when asked by the local Homeland Security-style division, for info on a dozen or, for that matter, all users, it is CYA time around the world.

  • Seeking some clarification of the default Privacy policy link

We have just got a warning from Microsoft stating an app has the following problem:
The privacy policy link did not resolve to a functional webpage..
I checked the privacy policy link and found it points to the app's store page, not privacy statement page.  I guess this is a problem.  Here is the strange part:
I handle privacy policy in exactly the same way for all our apps - adding a Privacy statement to the Settings pane.  All apps' settings panes are handled the same way. However, this app has the extra Privacy policy link. Other apps do not.  I do
not know how to get rid of it.
Out of curiosity, I started checking other apps to see if they have the same issue.  To my surprise, the Weather app by Microsoft has exactly the same issue - it has a privacy statement link that works correctly, and a privacy policy link pointing to
the app's store page.  The following is the screen capture of the Weather app's Settings pane:
Could anyone offer a tip on how to handle this and shed some light on why some apps have the extra Privacy policy link and others do not?

  • Ros_self_reg  change the Data Privacy

    Hi masters of SRM.
I am setting ros_self_reg  transaction into displays the Data Privacy  like example.
Enter your data privacy statement here.
The text may explain, for example, that consent is given to the saving and use of the entered data.
You can enter a text for this in transaction SE61. In the Implementation Guide you can then make appropriate settings so that this text is used as the data privacy statement.
Yes, I have read the data privacy statement and accept the terms.
I make new text with the clauses needed but that does not show.
2.- another question is needed an new client to setting that functionallity or in same client srm/ebp is possible.
    thanks for your help.

I also did change the data privacy statement in SE61. Its not showing up in the Registration screen.  how do u solve it?
do we need to publish any service in SICF?
