There was and error downloading the file: error 16824.
there is not any abnormal change in update decriptor file (on server) and application discriptor file.still facing that surprised problem.
can any body help me out.
Thanks in advance

Deepak,
Import parameters are asked once you click on Execute button of the FM. Here the screen is here.
Most of the fields look like Boolean values with 'X', if yes. Also there are 3 table icons seen. Once you click you are into the screen where you can fill the table values also. After inputting these values when you click on the Execute button in this screen the Entries in The Tables (output) will be filled. This your output.
I did not work on this. But all new FMs I try this way only. Often we need to play with FMs through Execute button and passing the Import parameters. After several trials we start understanding, what it is asking and what is returned.

  • How do i update Installed AIR Applications? // General Questions

    Hi,
first of all, i'm completly new to AIR. However, i made my way through your product documentation and i'm now able to deploy AIR and a AIR Application (SFDC Chatter) and register it.
Works fine so far, but some questions:
    - How can i update installed AIR applications? If i just try to re-install it, the installer will fail with exit code "9"
-> How can i update them directly? If this is not possible
-> How can i uninstall AIR applications in a large enterprise environment?
    - Where is the ARH Tool that is described in your product documentation?
    - When installing AIR as SYSTEM User (I'm using SCCM) where is the logfile?
    - Do you recommend updating AIR on a regular base? Are "older" applications compatible with newer AIR Versions?
    Thanks for your replies!
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
I'd recommend taking a good look at our captive runtime option that is available in AIR 3.0 and higher.  While you have to roll your own installer (and updater) this could be as simple as a zip/batch file combination.  It also allows you to use the runtime that you prefer and not be dependent on what the user installs or uninstalls.  You do have to be mindful of security implications, but it's definitely the way I'd go.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air3-install-and-deployment-options.html
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f709e16db131e43659b9-8000.html
As for updating, it should be as simple as increasing your app descriptors version number and installing again.  This article explains how you can also use our update framework: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air_update_framework.html
The ARH tool can be found here:
    Mac: http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/distribution/latest/mac/arh
    Win: http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/distribution/latest/win/arh.exe

  • Problems updating/installing air application

    Hi,
We have an Adobe Air application that uses the Air update mechanism for newer versions. It seems to work fine for most of the customers  but on some computers when it tries to install the new version it cannot. The only clue we have are some errors we found in the Install.log in in Adobe/Air/logs:
    [2012-07-09:12:14:50] Error occurred during msi install operation; beginning rollback: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="1603" errorID=0]
[2012-07-09:12:14:50] Rolling back install of C:\Users\pop.radu\AppData\Local\Temp\fla73EA.tmp\setup.msi
    [2012-07-09:12:14:50] Rollback complete
    [2012-07-09:12:14:50] Got an unexpected fatal error while in stateInstalling: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="1603" errorID=0]
We have checked other discussions on this problem and most of the solutions were using an uninstall tool to remove the app and then install it again. However, we would like to know if there is another way to solve this since we don't want  our customers to uninstall and reinstall the application manually each time a newer version of the app appears.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Radu

    Hi Radu,
The next step would be to enable MSI logging and take a look at what is failing with MSI.  Unfortunately, MSI is very fragile at times and we do see this problem.  Sometimes its simply a file/folder/registry permission issue.  Other times it's more severe, like a missing .msi database file.  Because this is an upgrade, I suspect what is happening is that MSI is looking for the old version's .msi database file so that it can run its "uninstall" routine.  If the old msi can't be found, it will bail out and the upgrade will fail.
The only solution, other than locating the old msi database file (doubtful) is to run the Microsoft cleanup utility.
    Thanks,
    Chris
Ps.  If you haven't already, I'd recommend taking a look at the captive runtime solution in AIR 3.x.  http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air3-install-and-deployment-options.html

  • Problem with Expose and Adobe AIR application -can't click on app in Expose

I just installed a new Adobe AIR application called TwitterLocal. The app was working fine until I accidently hit some keyboard shortcut and the application window disappeared. I figured I accidently assigned the window to some other "space," however I do not have SPACES turned on. Furthermore, when I select EXPOSE, I can now see the content of the application's window, however if I click on the app (which takes on that grey-highlight appearance when you mouse over it) the desktop returns to its normal position. I can see via the top status bar that the app is currently selected, but I cannot access the app window.
Is there any way to send an app that was "sent" to expose back to the normal desktop? I've tried rebooting and even uninstalling/reinstalling the app but it is still lost in expose.
Any thoughts on this would greatly be appreciated.

Solution was to change display to lower resolution, then the Adobe AIR app TwitterLocal became visible on the standard desktop and I was able to click on and move the app window towards the left of the desktop. Once I switched the resolution back, everything was ok.

  • HTTPService problem (ioerror #2032) in flex AIR application

    Hi all,
I am using flex 4.5 Hero Sdk. Flex Builder plugin. Win7x64. Adobe Air 2.5.
I have a flex air project which contains 3 library projects included.
The project uses one of the included libraries for managing HttpService calls to a Tomcat server.
When I use "merge into code" option for building all projects there is no problem. I can both run in Adl and installed application (exe). HttpService calls works fine in both Adl and Air 2.5 runtime.
When I use Rsl option for building all projects I can run-debug in Adl However when I run the installed version (I mean this time running the application not with adl, but with Flex Air 2.5.x version installed in win7x64) this time HttpService calls to the server gives ioerror (Error#2032).
Some information I discovered (may not be related to the problem I stated above)
When using rsl option, "use local RSLs when debugging" option makes the difference. If this option is false, Adl cannot run the application.
I tried -use-network=true compiler option, but not sure if I did everything right while trying.
Shortly I think I need some knowledge for working with RSLs. So, can anybody help me?

  • Air Updater with Native applications

I searched the forum for Application updater/ options available for updating our Air application when we use the air native applications.
I know Air ApplicationUpdaterUI does not support native application updates (Air 2.0).
I also observed that all discussions with respect to the Updaters point to the following discussion.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/simplicity/2010/01/application_update_security_an.html
I also found the following articles -
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=updating_apps_1.html
    Has anyone tackled this problem?
Can someome please explain a little more in details the steps needed in order to achieve the updaer functionality for native apps).
    thanks

It was my mistake in configuration of extension.xml file. Instead of mentioning Extesion Initialization funtion i was using context initialization funtions there. It started working after correcting this problem.
    Thanks for all the help.

  • Comand line argument for updating .air applications

    Hi all,
Please help me regarding the issue while updating the .air application silently using command line argument -update -silent -location <%INSTALLDIR%> "Location of .air file".
For the fresh installation I used the following cmd line arguments
------> Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -programMenu -location "<INSTALLDIR>" "Location of .air file" ---> This will work for fresh installations only.
but the same comand will not work if the older version is already installed in the machine we have t use -update argument.
I don't fine correct argument list for updating the .air files. Please help me if any one know how to update the .air file silently using command line arguments.

    Hi,
To update an app, the app installer should be invoked with the following command line params:
    -update -silent <dir> <url> <version>
where <dir> is the full native path to the application, <url> is the URL to the .air file to update it with (either local or remote), and <version> is the version of the new app in the .air file.
    Thanks,
    Jian

  • Digitally Signing Flex/AIR Application

I am looking for some help with updating an AIR application with a renewed certificate.
The way that Adobe AIR handles digitally signed certificates is fairly confusing. I think it has changed with the release of AIR 1.5.3 and this change has caught us off guard and has resulted in some problems.
According to the Adobe website: Prior to AIR 1.5.3, signing an AIR application with a renewed certificate did not always require a migration signature. Starting with AIR 1.5.3, a migration signature is always required for renewed certificates.
Furthermore: The certificate must be changed before the original certificate expires. If you do not create an update signed with a migration signature before your certificate expires, users will have to uninstall their existing version of your application before installing a new version. As of AIR 1.5.3, an expired certificate can be used to apply a migration signature within a 180 day grace period after the certificate has expired. (You cannot use the expired certificate to apply the main application signature.).
    See:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappsflex/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7ff0. html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7cca
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappsflex/WS13ACB483-1711-43c0-9049-0A7251630A7D.htm l
    BOTTOM LINE:
We did not create a "migration signature" within the 180 grace period because we had no updates (bug fixes or enhancements) to our application during this time. When I finally did prepare a new release of our application and signed it with our new certificate, the Adobe installer is not recognizing the new application as an UPDATE of the old application so when you try to install it, the user gets an error message that an application that the same name is already installed. In the past, the installer recognizes the new application as an update and it replaces the old app. I think there may be a way for me to handle this properly, but all of my attempts so far have not produced the results I am looking for.
The issues may be related to specifying a Publisher ID. We may need to specify the publisherId in the descriptor.xml file, which we have never had to do in the past. However, the publisherId property may only be available in 1.5.3. I have been having trouble specifying the 1.5.3 name space (<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5.3">). I think that must only be available for newer versions of the compiler. I am currently using 3.5.
Are there any experts on this topic that can explain How I can package my updated app so that the installer recognizes it as an UPDATE and not a NEW APP with the same name (which doesn't work)?

    Any ideas on this?

  • Triggering an event when the new  AIR application installation has done for first time in machine

I am installing AIR application from web page by using a badge. Is it possible to call a function once the installation of AIR app was finished[once we click finish button in the installer] to update the AIR application version dynamically inside our code.If so please share. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hi Rizwana,
So as you said that you had created a event linkage between change document object and Business object you can now switch on the event trace SWELS and go to the particular transaction by which the event of this Business  Object gets triggered ( the event you mentioned in SWEC). Switch of the event trace (SWELS) and check the Business object that had triggered in SWEL transaction.
    Hope this would help you.
Any clarification.. then please revert back.
    Good luck
