Problem at startup with all CS3 products

hello it's a couple of day that i'm not able to open any program of CS3..
I work on a MacBook (black version) with Tiger 10.4.11
Is someone having the same problem?
I think that maybe this can have something to do with the OSX update I installed on Saturday because Dreamweaver started do have problem just after the instalation
Anyway this are the most recent update I installed

I've got a new (6 weeks old) Mac Pro OS X 10.5.4 and new CS3.
I can run Photoshop and Acrobat. All other applications abruptly quit on launch - InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge.
I talked to Adobe the other day and the tech had me uninstall just those 3 programs and do a fresh install (just the problem 3). Still no luck!
I need some help please.

Hello all,
I woke up this morning and attempted to launch Adobe Photoshop CS3. I received the following error:
"You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling..."
At the same time I tried opening Photoshop, my Antivirus application (ESET NOD 32 Antivirus) indicated that it found a "threat" named AdobeLM_libFNP.dll.
I then tried opening DreamWeaver CS3. Same issue. Also got another threat notification from ESET NOD 32.
Non CS3 products (Photoshop CS2, Illustrator 10) do not appear to be affected.
I've already referred to the TechNote for this issue. I've tried all of the solutions, except for uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

I really don't have the time today to uninstall and reinstall all of my Adobe apps. I'm hoping there is another solution.
I'm running a complete system/virus scan right now and its coming up with threats left and right... all of them are Adobe-related w/file names like "AdobeDeviceCentralAll1.cab"
Can anyone help?

if you're SURE that's a virus, you'll have to reinstall the full app. my guess is you AV app is a little too aggressive in it's scanning and it stopping the adobe license manager (AdobeLM) from running so you can't run your apps.
having heard of adobe, but never heard of est nod, i'd trust adobe 1st... try another virus scanner. for example avg (free or paid) or kaspersky, panda, mcaffe, symantec, etc.
hmm googling i found a pcweek review. they say it's great at catching "unknown" viruses (proactive protection) but "less than stellar" at stopping and disenfecting lots of other malware. so it may be thinking because of the behaviour of the ALM, nod32 thinks it's caught an unknown virus.

I'm having a problem in FCP7 with all video transitions. Every transition has a rolling flicker throughout the effect. What is causing this?

I recently upgraded to FCP7 from FCP6. I am now having an issue in playback with all video transitions. When I add a transition to my video it does not consistently play smoothly. I now appears to have an old "film" like flicker rolling through the effect. Our video was shot on a dslr and brought into FCP with compressor as a prores 422 file. We use magic bullet for our coloring effects which are in place on this video. When I was working on the project in FCP6 I did not have this problem. When the project was complete we upgraded to FCP7. The client has now come back to us wanting additional footage. So I opened the old project up into FCP7 and checked yes to all format updates to meet with FCP7 guidelines. So far this is the only problem I've encountered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For me it looks like conflict with field order (upper, lower - interlaced).
Please, check Your sequence settings, maybe it should be set to "field order NONE" if Your source is progressive.
Next thing You could check:
in Your timeline with bad transitions look into "Effecs tab" - maybe FCP 7 added "shift field filter +/-1" after opening FCP 6 project.
In general - try to keep sequence settings same as source settings.

Yes, Filtering, as Barry notes, will hide non-relevant data. Be careful though that you don't inadvertently exclude addresses that are in, say suburbs, and should be included with others.
It's really not difficult to scroll through a sorted list.

I seem to be having a problem with all mozilla products crashing i.e Thunderbird, Seamonkey,and Firefox what is the issue, and how do I fix it?

I have updated all products, uninstalled and reinstalled ,ran virus scans, changed the compatibility its running on (from windows 7 to XP), disabled all plugins, and I am still encountering the same issue of all my mozilla installs crashing repeatedly. I'm having problem at startup with my emac

1.42 Ghz 512MB RAM running OS 10.4.11. Usually freezes at the blue screen b4 sign in or will just stay at the spinning wheel on the grey apple screen.
Tried booting from the restore dvd that came with the computer, got to disk repair and ran it. It found a minor problem that was repaired, then went back to same old ways as soon as I turned off the computer and tried to start up again. I did a safe boot this morning and managed to get on, but I don't think this will last either as I did the same thing about 5 days ago and the problems just keep coming back at startup. Any ideas?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Printer Error with all iWork products

Hi. I don't have a printer attached tot eh computer but I want to save a document as a PDF. I can do this in all applications other than iWork applications. printer Error comes up. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

It seems a bit odd.
I'm able to do that on the iMac intel inside which I uses for trsts.
I never connected a printer to this beast and the Print to PDF feature works perfecly (I didn't try the export to PDF entry).
Sounds as a corrupted file somewhere.

It sounds like what you have is a Creative Cloud subscription. You can use the desktop version of Acrobat Pro that comes with the subscription to convert Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) into PDF.
However, the Creative Cloud subscription currently does not include the Acrobat.com service subscriptions (ExportPDF, PDF Pack) that are offered from Adobe Reader desktop and mobile products (including Adobe Reader for iOS).
Please note that Adobe Reader for iOS provides the basic functionality (e.g. viewing PDF documents, adding comments, filling out form fields, search, printing) for free.

Hi, there is a problem happened on my all apple product, that is the FaceTime app doesn't work very well since about 2 weeks ago. this issue is happened when i try to FaceTime to my friend in China, it shows "connecting" all the time.

But when I use facetime between ipad and iphone, under my home wifi, it works fine.
is that only happened to connect to facetime user in China?

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

Problem with Indesign CS3 missing save as dialog box

I am having problems saving documents with Indesign CS3. I have upgraded it to the latest version, repaired permissions, shut down a restarted to no avail. This is Indesign CS3 running on a Macbook under Leopard 10.5.2. You can select save and it appears to save a file. However, if you select "save as", the dialog box to select a location never comes up. Nothing seems to happen. I can't figure it out, and it happens to any file. I have created test files and the same thing happens.
Help!!!

Trash preferences before re-installing. Also, try this weird procedure: open the equivalent dialog in one of the other Suite products on the same computer (assuming they're there). That's been known to solve the problem on Windows machines.

Printing problems with InDesign CS3 running on OS 10.6

I recently upgrade my old G4 Mac (OS 10.4) to a new Mac Mini running OS 10.6.6. I am still running CS3 and have encountered only one problem. When I print multiple copies documents from InDesign that contain several layers, each copy is processed separately, so that it can take several minutes just to send the print job to the printer if I'm printing over 20 copies. Then once the print job is processed the printer pauses between every copy, which is tripling the printing time. If I print a simpler document with only one or two layers it processes all the copies at once, as it should. I am printing on an Okidata 6150 color laser printer.
I never had this problem on my old computer. I'm wondering if this is one of the "unsupported" bugs of running CS3 on Snow Leopard. I want to make sure that this is a problem unique to running CS3 with Snow Leopard before I go ahead and upgrade to CS4 or CS5.

It is version 5.0.4. I updated it when I newly installed it a week ago in my new computer, and then again updated it just yesterday.
I might mention that before I got my new computer, I was running Mac OS 4.11, and was using InDesign 3.0. I had bought InDesign CS3 about a year ago, but hadn't gotten around to using it since version 3.0 had been working fine, and I was used to it. Then, when I got my new computer, I decided it was time to use the newer version. However, while using InDesign 3.0 with the old Mac OS 4.11, a printing problem popped up there, too, a few months ago... and it also involved printing problems with Adobe Reader. I contacted Adobe, and they sent me a patch which fixed it. I will contact Adobe again if need be, although I thought I'd start here first to see if it was a common enough problem that someone might be able to provide a free and routine answer.

I neglected to ask what version of indesign CS3 you are using. I also
notice that Mac OSX 10.6.4 has just been released. It actually
addresses some CS3-specific issues, though they seem to be related to
launching the apps, not printing. It may be worth trying to update,
nonetheless.

I updated to OS X 10.5.4 on a latest generation 24" iMac with Adobe CS3 on it. This is the only Mac with 10.5 installed in a publishing company with 10 Macs, all with Adobe CS3 and all working always with files on the same file server. The other 9 Macs have OS X 10.4 installed.
The iMac with 10.5 had massive problems with CS3 files since OS X 10.5.2 - frequently existing Photoshop files disappeared from the server after the "Save" command, frequently "Save As" was not possible in Photoshop, sometimes Indesign crashed when files were getting saved on the server - none of this is happening on the other Macs with OS X 10.4.
On the first couple of days with 10.5.4 at least in Photoshop exactly the same problems: Existing files disappear from the server after the "Save" command, "Save As" is often times not possible.

Why don't you try updating with the larger installer, the combo updater. The combo updater is generally more helpful when troubleshooting a problem.

Problem with business catalyst product shop layout?

I have set up a shop in business catalyst, but I am having trouble getting all the products to display on one page, 3 have moved to a second page, but left gaps on the previous page where they should fit in? Adobe support told me to post this on the forum, saying to 'alter the css and have it checked out', has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix this?
I have had this issue before and was told to weight the products, which then worked ok last time. So I now weight all product enteries, it's fine on all other pages of product catalogues in the shop, but this seems to be happeneing again on this one?
