Problem configuring DSN file

Hi guys.
I need some advice on how to configure an .DSN file on a Windows95.
I need to link MS Access on this win95 to a Oracle DB located on a remote machine.
(MS Access) ---> (Remote machine OracleDB)
Thanks.

If you're using the latest version of the Oracle driver, there should be a 'Test Connection' button in the DSN configuration screen. Use that to verify that your DSN is set up correctly.
Given that there's a password field, my guess is that you're using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver. I'd suggest that you try the Oracle driver, simply because I'm much better able to help you out with it.
I assume that you've successfully installed the Oracle client on your machine. I assume as well that you've used the Net8 Configuration Assistant to create a new TNS name for the server you're trying to connect to. I assume you used the 'Test Connection' feature of that tool to verify that you could connect with and log into your database.

  • Problem with attaching file to Sales Order

    Hello,
In my company we have the possibility to attach files to sales orders, e.g. pdf files with the printing details.
These files are added by the GUI user, this works fine.
Now we have an extra order creation stream in which a pdf file has to be added to the SO without user interaction.
    I found a helpful link ( /people/rammanohar.tiwari/blog/2005/10/10/generic-object-services-gos--in-background )
This program creates URL links with no problem, but the file generation is not implemented yet.
I tried to add the file functions to his sample report but still have one problem. The file is uploaded, but not reported as a PDF file in sap. If I select the created attachment SAP allows only the saving of the attachment. After saving the created file is a good PDF file, it opens with PDF-viewers.
Why does SAP not know this is a PDF file and report it as such (and open the pdf viewer when selected).
    Thanks, Frank.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the SDN Forums!!!
You need to supply the PC file extension in the container element 'DOCUMENTTYPE'.
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' p_msgtyp.
In your case change the above statement as below:
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' 'pdf'.
<b>OR</b> change the default value of p_msgtyp to 'PDF'.

  • MDT 0xc0000098 The windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry

    hello,
i installed WDS+MDT for OS deployment. all was working fine.
Now i need our branch office to be able to deploy OS as well.
I installed a new Win 2008R2 server, and installed the WDS service on it.
When reading about this on the internet i saw i need, on the MDT at our main office, to make a link, under "Advanced Configuration" - "Linked Deployment Shares" to the new WDS server (I used this: http://www.balm.se/?p=115")
when doing so i entered the UNC path to the new server and then, on the created link, i right click and choose "Replicate now".
after doing so, i tried booting a laptop just to see if there is any impact, and now, I'm getting this error:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
    1. insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer
    2. choose your language, and then click "Next"
    3. Click "Repair your computer"
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a valid OS entry.
I know that usually when I'm getting this message, it means that a previous MDT installation was started and did not finished correctly, and the are some [stuff] on the HD, so i do a partition erase and start over and all working fine.
Now it's not working. I tried several computer, even new ones, and NADA.
    someone know the cause?
I know I read something, i don't remember where or how to find it, that when doing the steps I did, it alter\change some ini or xml, or something like this. is that true? any one know on what file do i need to look and see if something is misconfigured?

For a branch solution I would use DFS(R) rather than linked deploymentshares.
If there is infrastructure at the remote sites you could use the MDT environment at your main site, and  then at each other site use an existing server or build a new server (VM is available). Create a Deploymentshare on each sever
and copy the contents of the MDT environment from the first site into this share.  Next you will have to add the WDS service to each site's server. For WDS add the boot image. Of course as Keith noted ensure that you
have the same versions of MDT and the WAIK/ADK on all systems
You can use DFS to replicate to all of the other sites, but you will still have to create a deploymentshare, and install WDS at each site. So each site talks to its own WDS server you can use the DefaultGateway parameter instead -
    [Settings]
    Priority=Default, DefaultGateway
    [Default]
    SkipBDDWelcome=YES
    [DefaultGateway]
    192.168.10.1=Bergen
    192.168.20.1=Oslo
    [Bergen]
    DeployRoot=\\MDT-Bergen\DeploymentShare$
    [Oslo]
    DeployRoot=\\MDT-Oslo\DeploymentShare$

  • File Adapter-Problem Reading Huge Files

    Hi,
Here is the issue that i am facing
When reading huge file(csv file upto 6MB-8MB) the communication channel configured as File Adapter with a polling interval of 7 min(420 sec) is inconsistent in reading the complete file.Sometimes it reads the the complete file of 6 MB and sometimes it reads a part of the file say 3MB/6MB.Can this inconsistent behaviour be resolved.??
    Your suggestions highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep !
8mb is not a huge file for XI, I think it is a small one. Maybe your problem is not the size..please check if XI is not starting to read the file before it is completely written to the source folder. If you are creating that csv file from another application directly to the poll source directory of the XI scenario specified in the file adapter, and your poll interval is small, XI could start reading the file while you are still writing it. If this is the case, try to put the file with a different extension or filename than the specified in file adapter comm channel and when the file is completely written, rename it to its final filename and check if you are still having that misbehavior.
You can write the file to a temp directory and the move it to the XI directory once finished.
    Regards,
    Matias.

  • Problem with .sitx files (Safari but not Firefox???)

    Hi All,
I have a website online (with help from iWeb and BBEdit) but am having a problem I cant figure out (this IS my first website!)
I am hoping that someone much more knowledgeable than me can help me with it.
I basically have a download section. Icons and desktops.
Now, when I (or anyone else) tries to download- everything seems to be fine in FireFox (even IE!) but not in Safari.
My desktops are compressed as .zip files. No problems there, everyone can download and open (including Safari users!)
My icons are compressed as .sitx files. This is where the problems come in. Firefox and IE download them no problem ('save to disk?' etc) However when one attempts to download the icons (.sitx files) with Safari it simply displays pages of gibberish (starting with the word 'Stuffit') which I am presuming is Safari trying to 'display' the contents of the actual stuffit file.
Why is this? Why wont safari simply download the .sitx files as it does .zip files?
Does Safari have some sort of inherent problem with .sitx files? Is it some sort of configuration within Safari preferences? or (and probably most likely!) is it something I have done wrong?
Oh, my website (page in question!) can be found here:
    http://aoimedia.co.uk/news/news.html
Thanks in advance for all your valuable help
    Kind regards

    Hi,
It sounds like the server the website/file is hosted on is not identifying the type correctly. As you've seen, different browsers will handle this situation differently.
Have a read of this article:

  • Problem reading Excel files from site

I use Dreamweaver CS4 for my site and have for the last few years.  Everything was working quite well - easy to use and I was familiar with it.  My site has multiple pages and there are .pdf, .jpeg, excel and docx files listed throughout.  Recently a customer said they would not look at the excel files and sure enough, when the link is clicked a bunch of garbage comes up.  Same thing with .docx files.  Both excel and .docx files could be read in their appropriate format in the past.  The link can be right clicked and saved.  The saved file can then be read.  I contacted the site provider and they said my web.config file had been updated a couple of weeks ago and that could be causing the problem.  The file is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration>
        <system.webServer>
            <rewrite>
                <rules>

    </configuration>
Any suggestions?  I edited the web.config file (added .xls and docx) and uploaded to the server with no change in the results.
    Thanks.

  • Error importing/activating Configuration tpz files

    Hi All,
I am trying to import Configuration tpz files from one XI server to another. I have defined Transport Targets for all the Business Systems in the SLD also.
In Configuration, all the objects for a particular scenario are imported correctly from the tpz file, without any error. All these inactivated objects are grouped under a single change list called "XI 3.0 Import".
But while truing to activate this chage list, it gives error "Unable to activate <Receiver Determination> - Object <Receiver Communication Channel> does not exist".
I am also unable to activate any of the objects individually. It gives message "Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import",
Any ideas on how to proceed?
    Regards,
    Puloma.

    Hi All,
    The problem is now solved.
We deleted the offending Receiver Determination objects from the Change List, and the rest of the change list was activated without any further errors. We now just have to re-create the Receiver dtermination objects.
    Theo,
The communication channels in the original configuration were assisgned to scenarios. Also, re-creation of new Communication Channels was useless, as the resp. Business Systems were inactived.
However, the problem is now almost solved, as we don't have to replicate the entire Configuration manually, just the Receiver Determination.
    Regards,
    Puloma.

  • Application Module Configuration Properties file?

    Hi,
Any body knows where could i find the Application Module Configuration Properties file on the disk.
(This properties on wizard are appeared when we right click on application module and select configuration...)

    Curt,
Thanks for your direction. That link is vary useful to be familiar with the AM configuration setting.
Frankly, during last few months I was extremely busy to develop JSP pages. And didnt study much about AM But now that we are close to move the application to production I faced unacceptable problems. Recently I started to read your/and other folks treads to get more familiar with AM.
Here is some of the problem i faced, which i think are AM related:
1-The application speed goes down as soon as more than 2-3 browser(user) work with the same application(most probably I have memory leak).
2-Some times I received following error when tried to load a JSP page in the application:
Error Message: oracle.jbo.PCollException: JBO-28020: Passivation error on collection TXN, node id -1 void
3-I faced following error when I tried to work with two applications in one or even two browsers:
Error Message: JBO 30004: An application module that was not checked out was checked in...
So, please let me know your idea on those and/or any point that I have to check.
By the way, I am still on JDev9i-Beta and I accepted all default setting at the time I created AM . but the state of each page explicitly defined at the page level(mostly stateful, but on some of the pages i didn't mentioned the state which by default is stateless).
    Thanks.

  • Facing problem in SFTP File Transfer in OSB 11gR1

    Hi,
We are facing issue in SFTP File transfer from a very long time now.
We have created around 10 SFTP Services which are configured to transfer files from One server to another in the entire application setup.
Each SFTP Service consists of a Proxy service of SFTP type, which calls Biz Service and transfers files in default pattern.
These services were running successfully from a long time, but from past 2-3 months, files are not getting transferred to target folder everytime.
i.e. After restarting managed server, they get transfered for few days, but start giving problem after some time.
I have checked full configuration settings, file paths, also i have checked file names to trace duplicacies if any, but there is no such possibility of passing duplicate files as file names consists of timestamps.
We have a clustered domain setup with 2 managed servers configured running in 2 instances.
The observations in case of error while passing file are as follows :
    1. A file named abc.xyz is kept in Source Directory.
    2. abc.xyz gets converted to abc.xyz%.stage file in some time.
    3. It does not move to archive directory nor to target directory.
All servers are up as it is PROD Environment and hence no server issue.
While testing same services in SIT Servers, we never face any issue.
Proxy Service configuration is as below :
    Authentication Mode      Username Password
Service Account      *****NOT TO BE DISCLOSED*****
    Timeout      60
    File Mask      [*.*]
    Scan SubDirectories      false
    Pass By Reference      false
    Remote Streaming      true
    Post Read Action      archive
Archive Directory      *****NOT TO BE DISCLOSED*****
Error Directory      *****NOT TO BE DISCLOSED*****
    Retry Count      5
Managed Server      *****ONE OF THE MANAGED SERVERS*****
    Polling Interval      900
    Read Limit      0
    Sort By Arrival      false
    Request encoding      utf-8
We have mentioned different polling intervals for different services. Values used are : 450, 900, 1800, etc.
Please guide for solution of this problem ASAP.

    (a) This doesn't appear to have anything to do with the topic of this forum.
    (b) If this fails:
getFtpClient().changeWorkingDirectory(getRemoteDirectory()); //This line first returning false then of course nothing else will work. That's what you need to investigate.

  • Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server

    Hi,
We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
"system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
    the TestDB created.
    2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
    in this file.
    3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
    4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
    file.
    5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
"system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
    the TestDB created.
    2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
    in this file.
    3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
    4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
    file.
    5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

  • Managing and configuring log files for Oracle 9ias

    Hi all,
I'm wondering where I can find documentation on managing and configuring log files like:
    ORACLE_HOME/admin/ sid/*dump/* ORACLE_HOME/assistants/opca/install.log ORACLE_HOME/webcache/logs/*
    ORACLE_HOME/dcm/logs/*
    ORACLE_HOME/ldap/log/*
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/*
    ORACLE_HOME/sysman/log/*
    ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/ OC4J_instance/log/*/* ORACLE_HOME/config/schemaload.log ORACLE_HOME/config/useinfratool.log
because I didn't find anything in document like:
    Oracle9 i Application Server
    Administrators Guide
    Release 2 (9.0.2)
    May 2002
    Part No. A92171-02
So, if anyone has any idea...
    Thanks in advance

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to send the stdout and/or stderr to the log4j type of logging? I already capture the stdout and stderr to the flat file. But I would like to timestamp every line to compare and diagnose problems with each application that encounters problems. Each web app is using log4j to their own application log4j log file. When they encounter errors or resource draining problems, I would like to see the container logs and see what was occuring inside the container at around that same time.
    Any ideas?

  • Problem with Offline Files with Cisco NSS322 (firmware 1.3)

    Hi
We've recently bought a new NSS322 NAS box to replace an ageing Windows SBS 2003 file server. We've upgraded the firmware to 1.3, and begun moving files across from the Windows server to the new NAS box. However, we're having a problem with Offline Files on the NAS, as attempting to make directories available offline on Windows clients (only tried Vista Business 32-bit so far) we get loads of errors stating that these files cannot be made available offline "because they are in use" (or something like that).
Any suggestions as to why this might be? It doesn't appear to affect all files, but most of them.
I've read somewhere that the "allow oplocks" setting can affect this if disabled, but it is already enabled on the device, so this can't be the cause of the problem.
Any help you could provide would be much appreciated, as at the moment this issue is rendering our NAS unusable as we rely heavily on the offline files functionality.
    Thanks in advance.
I have some more information - this appears to be related to the ownership permissions of the files on the NAS. New files created on the NAS can be made available offline, and have the ownership of the person who created the file, however, the files we moved across from the server are all listed as being owned by the user "guest" (I think this may be related to the fact that when we moved the files over, the user was logged in as "admin" rather than a user on the AD Domain). I should be able to resolve this through changing the owner of the files on the NAS, but I can't seem to do this, as I get an "access denied" error each time I try to change ownership.

Is there any chance someone's going to be able to help me with this? I've currently spent £500 on a box that I can't use. If it can't handle Offline Files satisfactorily, it's no use to us.
I've been looking at this a bit more - if appears that each user can make files they have created available offline, but files created by other people cannot - the error message that appears is: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".
I'm getting desperate here...can anyone help?

Sorry, but I don1 speak very good english..
I was Try this quick test: As a quick test, you can do a forward all and make sure you can get into the ftp server.
but result it is to same.
I think, that problem is in firmware, becasue I know more people who own this router with to same firmware version (2.0.1.3), and have they to same problem how I.
I have DISABLED FIREWALL on my router and problem hold over.
If I replace router Cisco Linksys WRVS4400N by Ovislink router or any other, issue (problem) already no is.
Configuration in Cisco Linksys WRVS4400N and configurations in any other router is to same, but FTP connection via Cisco Lynksys always will crash.
If I connect to any other FTP server, sometimes requieres from me ftp login and password. It is OK, but if I assign login and password, after connect me to this FTP server, i see folders and files on this server, but without reason connecting fall down.
Few seconds later if I connect to the to same FTP server, sometime either not request login and password and connection fall down.

  • Configurator installation file not recognized

I have installed Adobe Air 2.7.1.19610 on my Windows Vista SP1 32 bit.  Rebooted.  Download the Adobe Configurator installation file  configurator2_p1_052610.air     When I double click on it my computer does not know what program should run it.  The file's icon is the generic icon.  I don't know what .exe to point it to.  I can rename the extension .zip and open it and everything appears to be there so I don't think its corrupted.  I deleted the file and downloaded again with the same results.  I have Adobe Photoshop and InDesign CS5.  Does anybody know what's wrong?
    thanks

You should find Adobe Air at this locations:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7 [64 bit]  :  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\
    Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 [32 bit]:   C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\
If you have still problem try to reinstall Adobe Air maybe the AIR runtime/framework, maybe it wasn't properly installed.
Here below also two links for troubleshooting Air installation:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html ( troubleshoot Air installation)
