Problem create table

I am a bigner in 10g, my question is if I create table in SQL command line, can I open this table in database home page, or how can I insert in home page in my table which I have created in sql command line. furthermore is there any tutorial of 10g.

We welcome
Yes, you can open created table in WWW frontend. You have to login to Home Page and go to SQL Workshop -> Object Browser, select your table.
If you need insert record you have to click Data -> Insert Row.

    1) U can create table with COLUMN level constraint.
    2) U can create table with TABLE level constraint.
    3) In COLUMN level constraint u can't give a constraint a name

    Please could some body help me !
    Thanks alot!

    The clue is in the error message: the OUTLN schema is missing.
    This is something Oracle 8i introduced to help manage the CBO (or soemthing equally geeky and internal). For some reason your database no longer has this user. It ought to be created automatically during installation (or upgrade) but catproct may not have completed probably or some over zealous admin type has dropped it.
    Solution is to re-install (or re-upgrade) as you cannot create this user on their own. Alas.

  • Problem creating table with foreign key in SQL Workshop

    Application Express version 2.2.1.00.04
    Get error message "Number of referencing columns/data types must match referenced columns"
    Master table SLS_SUPPLIERS has primary key SLS_ID NUMBER(8,0) and when creating table SLS_PRODUCTS with FK SLS_SLP_ID NUMBER(8,0) using the create table wizard I get the above error.
    The name of the FK is SLP_SLS_FK, key column is SLP_SLS_ID, referenced table is SLS_SUPPLIERS and referenced column is SLS_ID.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    I should add that if I create the table without the foreign key constraint and then create the constraint separately in SQL Workshop then it creates OK. It only fails in the create table wizard dialog.

    Obviously no-one interested in this - just thought it may be a bug in v2.2 that the development team would find useful.

    I replied to the other thread on this too -
    there is a bug on that page when you click Next. If you define more than one fk but then navigate using the links on the process chart on the left (Constraints, Confirm, etc), the page works fine. We do have a bug on this now and I just added the notes I will need to get this fixed in 3.1 (I have already assigned it to me - must have some rogue validation that fires on next).
    Sorry it took so long for this to get noticed - I am glad I checked the forum this morning -

  • Create tables in different database schemas using EJB 3 Entity Persistent

    Hi All,
    I would like to find out how to get the following tasks done using EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent:
    ( i ) Create tables in different schemas such as STUDENT under EDUCATION schema and table PATIENT in HOSPITAL schema. We can then reference them in SQL as EDUCATION.STUDENT and HOSPITAL.PATIENT.
    ( ii ) Reference these tables uniquely once they are created.
    There are no pre-existing tables or naming conventions that needs to be adhere to in this situation.
    I have no problem creating tables on the current schema in EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    Use the schema attribute of the Table annotation:
    package javax.persistence;
    @Target({TYPE}) @Retention(RUNTIME)
    public @interface Table
       String name( ) default "";
       String catalog( ) default "";
       String schema( ) default "";
       UniqueConstraint
    uniqueConstraints( ) default {};
    }

  • Problem in creating table maintenance generator for 61 fields in table

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing problem in creating a table maintenance genarator for a ZTABLE which has 61 fields
    i am using below details whicle creating the TMG
    in Maintenance screen
    i am giving maintenance type as two step
    Maint screen no overview screen 2
                              single screen        3
    Dialog Data Transport details
    Recording routine    standard recording routine
    but it is giving following error
    screen SAPL<ZTABLE NAME>    0003 could not be generated
    In DYNPFIELD_ATTR mandatory field LINE has no value
    please let me know how to sort out these errors.
    Is there any limit on the number of fields for which we can create table maintenance generetor.
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Sudipto

    Hi Sudipto,
    There is not limit to the number of fields of the Table which can be used in TMG for generation. But, from the usability point of view this will horrible.
    I created a Z table and added 64 fields and was able to generate the TMG with the screens perfectly. So, I guess there should not be any problem.
    Well, have a look at the Function Group. I guess the screen numbers are already used by some other screens. You can set the system to propose freely available screen numbers from the pool.
    Also, check whether proper authorization is assigned or not.
    And if nothing is working, you can degenerate all the generated screens and then can have a new regeneration of it.
    Hope these tips will work.
    Thanks,
    Samantak

  • Problem creating Allocation Table with Reference to a PO

    Dear Folks,
    I am having problems creating an allocation table with reference to a PO in T-code WA01.
    I read the SAP help that some prerequisites need to exist:
    ==> You can only reference order items flagged as being relevant to a stock split (the Allocation table relevant indicator in the additional item data).
    Can anyone advice me where to find this stock split indicator?
    Also, can anyone advice me how to reuse an allocation table? For example, I had previously created an allocation table with many articles and various allocation rules. I already generated follow on documents for this table.
    Say after 2 weeks, I have the similar requirements that I can make use of the same table, only with minor adjustments to the quantity. How do I create a new allocation table using the existing allocation table data?
    Thanks and Regards

    Any idea please?

  • Problem creating hierarchy based on 2 physical dimension tables

    I'm having a problem creating 1 logical dimension with a drill-down hierarchy, based on two separate physical dimension tables. The errors I receive when navigating the drill-down hierarchy is:
    "Cannot find logical table source coverage for logical columns" &
    "Missing join between logical tables".
    I'm using OBIEE 10.1.3.4
    Here are the details of what I have setup sofar:
    Physical layer:
    Dimension table DIM_ORG with columns:
    -dimension_key
    -org_total_code
    -org_total_description
    -org_detail_code
    -org_detail_description
    Dimension table DIM_DEPT with columns:
    -dimension_key
    -dept_total_code
    -dept_total_description
    -dept_detail_code
    -dept_detail_description
    Fact table FACT_SALES with columns:
    -fk_org
    -fk_dept
    -sum_sales
    Physical Joins:
    FACT_SALES.fk_org = DIM_ORG_dimension_key
    FACT_SALES.fl_dept = DIM_DEPT.dimension_key
    Business Model & Mapping layer:
    I created a logical dimension ORG_DEPT. It contains two logical table sources (DIM_ORG & DIM_DEPT) and the following logical columns:
    - All Departments (mapped to dept_total_code)
    - Organisation (mapped to org_detail_description)
    - Organisation Number (mapped to org_detail_code)
    - Department (mapped to dept_detail_description)
    - Department Code (mapped to dept_detail_code)
    The business logical key is based on the combination of Organisation Number & Department Code
    The hierarchy I need is: All Departments -> Organisation -> Department so I created the following hierarchy for ORG_DEPT:
    - Total Level containing: All Departments
    - Organisation Level containing: Organisation Number (defined as the Logical level key) & Organisation (defined als the Drill level key)
    - Detail Department Level containing: Department Code (defined as Logical level key) and Department (defined as Drill level key).
    In the LTS of the dimension ORG_DEPT I've set the Content levels for the sources:
    DIM_ORG : Organisation Level
    DIM_DEPT: Detail Department Level
    In the LTS no -inner- joins have been added against related physical tables.
    I created a logical fact table SALES (based on the physical fact table) and joined it against the logical dimension table ORG_DEPT.
    In the LTS the Content level for ORG_DEPT is set against the Detail Department Level. No - inner- joins have been aded against related physical tables.
    When I create a report in Answers to test the hierachy and select only 'All Departments' I get the correct dimension value returned. When I try to drill to the next level I get the following ODBC error:
    "Cannot find logical table source coverage for logical columns: [All Departments]. Please check more detailed level keys are mapped correctly".
    When I create a report in Answers and select both 'All Departments' and 'Sales' I get the correct result. When I try to drill to the next level I get a different ODBC error:
    "Missing join between logical tables DIM_DEPT and DIM_DEPT: There must be at least one physical join link between the underlying physical tables".
    Any suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks!

    Hello Robert,
    Your suggestions were known to me but I still wanted to combine the two physical dimension tables in one logical dimension. So I've played around a bit more and found the solution: In my original setup I had two seperate logical table sources (one for each physical dimension table). The solution was to combine the two logical table sources in one logical table source. I achieved that by logical joining the DIM_DEPT table to the FACT_SALES table and subsequently to the DIM_ORG within the 1 LTS and using inner joins.
    Then I created the logical table key (a combination of org_detail_code & dept_detail_code). After that I could create the hierarchy with no problem.

  • Problem creating a table with a subquery and a dblink

    Hello!!
    I have a little problem. When I create a table with a subquery and a dblink, for example:
    CREATE TABLE EXAMPLE2 AS SELECT * FROM EXAMPLE1@DBLINK
    the table definition is changed. Fields with a type of CHAR or VARCHAR2 are created with a size three times bigger than the original table in the remote database. Field of type DATE and NUMBER are not changed. For example if the original table, in the database 1, has a field of type CHAR(1) it is create in the local database with a type of CHAR(3), and a VARCHAR2(5) field is created with VARCHAR2(15).
    Database 1 has a WE8DEC character set.
    Database 2 has a AL32UTF8 character set.
    Could it be related to the difference in character sets?
    What can I do to make Oracle use the same table definition when creating a table in this way?
    Thanks!!

    That is related to character sets, and probably necessary if you want all the data in the remote table to be able to fit in the new table.
    When you declare a column VARCHAR2(5), by default, you're allocating 5 bytes of storage. In a single-byte character set, which I believe WE8DEC is, that also happens to equate to 5 characters. In a multi-byte character set like AL32UTF8, though, 1 character may require up to 3 bytes of storage, so you'd need to allocate 15 bytes to store that data. That's what's going on here.
    You could still store all the data if you create the table locally by explicitly requesting 5 characters of storage by declaring the column VARCHAR2(5 CHAR). You could also set the NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS parameter to CHAR rather than BYTE before creating the table, but I believe that both of these will only apply when you're explicitly defining columns as part of your CREATE TABLE. I don't believe either will apply to CTAS statements.

  • Problem in using CREATE TABLE with Execute Immediate

    I'm trying to create a table using Native Dynamic SQL. the code of the pl/sql block is
    BEGIN
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'create table demo (ddate date)';
    END;
    The problem is that the above block is executed successfully as an anonymous PL/SQL block. The same block when written in a procedure it gives an error
    "ORA-01031 Insufficient privelages"
    at the time of execution. The procedure is complied successfully.

    Your user needs direct system privs to create tables. You are receiving your privs properly by the role RESOURCE. Connect as system and grant CREATE TABLE directly to your user - that should do it.

  • J2ee tutorial. "ant create-tables" problem

    I am following Java ee 5 tutorial. In one of its sections it asks me to populate the db by following the below instructions:
    1. In a terminal window, go to the books directory or any one of the bookstore1 through
    bookstore6 example directories.
    2. Start the JavaDB database server. For instructions, see ?Starting and Stopping the JavaDB

    3. Type ant create-tables. This task runs a command to read the file tutorial.sql and
    execute the SQL commands contained in the file.
    4. At the end of the processing, you should see the following output:
    [sql] 181 of 181 SQL statements executed successfully

  • Problem auto-creating tables with the IBFBS sample

    Hello,
    I'm fairly new to JDeveloper and OC4J and am trying to configure the new Financial Brokerage Service (IBFBS) sample to run on my system. I followed all of the setup instructions but have had problems getting the application to work. I've worked through a few issues, but I'm stuck on this one. When deploying/running the application to the JDev embedded OC4J an error occurs when trying to auto-create the tables for some of the EJBs. The error messages are all similar to this:
    "Auto-creating table: create table UserAccount_file:_M:_Ja_rfpkl9 (accountNumber NUMBER not null primary key, password VARCHAR2(255) null, firstName VARCHAR2(255) null, lastName VARCHAR2(255) null, organization VARCHAR2(255) null, address VARCHAR2(255) null, city VARCHAR2(255) null, state VARCHAR2(255) null, country VARCHAR2(255) null, phone VARCHAR2(255) null, accountBalance FLOAT null, email VARCHAR2(255) null, userType VARCHAR2(255) null, linesPerPage NUMBER null, alertMode VARCHAR2(255) null, mobileEmail VARCHAR2(255) null)

    The app fails to start with an Ora message "Table or view does not exist"
    I think it's due to the colons in the table name, but how do I change the name of the table it's trying to create?
    I'm running JDeveloper 9.0.3 preview and 9.2.0.1.0 (patchset 1 applied) database all locally on a Windows XP SP1 machine.
    Any help appreciated.
    Nick

    Hi Nick,
    Firstly, regret for the late response.
    I guess what you are trying to do is run the Sample from JDeveloper itself. But this cannot be done, you have to deploy the
    sample to the embedded OC4J(<JDEV_HOME>/j2ee/home) bundled with JDev and run the sample from embedded OC4J.
    Refer to http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tutorials/fbs/over/setup.htm and follow the steps to deploy to OC4J.
    Curious to know if you were able to run it.
    Regards
    Elango.

  • Create-tables problem

    hi,
    i've re-posted this into a new post.
    i'm following the java ee tutorial at sun.com and i'm having a problem with the bokstore1 example.
    i've set the password file correctly and when i go to the bookstore1 dir and type 'ant' everything seems ok.
    the problem i'm having is once i've started the server and DB server and then type ' ant create-tables' the build fails and i get this output-
    "Starting database it the background. log redirected to c:\SunAppserver\......\....\...db.log
    comand start-database failed
    delete-tables:
    BUILD FAILED
    C:\javaeetutorial5\bp-project\database-ant.xml:48: c:\sun\appserver\javadb\lib not found"
    can anyone help?
    thanks in advance
    mat

    Based on the info. provided, seems to me the value for 'javaee.home' in build.properties may not be correct. Make sure that the property javaee.home in build .properties pints to valid installtion of application server, for ex. if you do 'dir' or 'ls' you should see javadb directory at this location.
    Also check if you have a build.properties file under windows user directory (in addition to bp-project under tutorial) and if it points to a different application server installation.

    A few notes on your code:
    * Don't import everything from a given package, only what you need.
    * Your tableName variable is not being used. You are using tableName literally in your variable named sql.
    * This variable is not being used as you think
    public static Statement stmt;You are creating a local variable with the same name in the the createTable method.
    * You should always close your connections and statements. Read the API docs for each of these classes.
    * Don't make everything static. Use instance variables and create an instance of your class with the new operator.
    Are you getting any sort of error message printed to the shell? You could try adding more System.out.println() calls to see what's going on.
