Problem gui_download  -Data looks messy without proper column header

Dear SDNers,
Scenario:
Using FM GUI_download to download excel file to Presentation server.
Excel file downloads perfecly fine on presentation server with proper column headers when the OS is not XP/Vista.
Issue:
when i run this program on my system having Windows Vista,Excel downloads but the column header is all jumbled up without proper differetation.
Kindly let me know what the the issue could be?
My Effort:
I did some googling and found that in Function Modules GUI_DOWNLOAD and GUI_UPLOAD.
The form of the file name depends on the underlying operating system.
To make your programs portable to different operating systems, we should use the function module FILE_GET_NAME.
which returns the system-dependent name for an abstract file name.
Kindly let me know if this is correct.
Reason am asking is now i dont have access to code and check the same since i dont have authorization.
Regards,
SuryaD.

  • Download internal table data into excel sheet with column heading and data

    Hi,
I am having one internal table with column headings and other table with data.
i want to download the data with these tables into an excel sheet.
It should ask the user for file name to save it on their own name. They should give the file name in runtime and it should be downloaded into an excel sheet.
Can anyone tell what is the right function module for downloading these two internal table data with column heading and data.
what we have to do for storing the file name in runtime.
Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks,

  • Problem in Adding two buttons under same column header (in JTable)

    Hi,
I have a JTable and to a particular column i want to add two buttons.
Here the two buttons should be under the same column header and i need to add listners to these.
Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks & regards
    Neel

Of course as your header is drawn by a renderer, the buttons don't actually work, but you can listen for mouse clicks within the area of the header and see which button the mouse position was over.
See the Java Table Sorter Demo code for how to add a mouse listener to the header...
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/example-1dot4/index.html#TableSorterDemo
....and from there you should be able to determine where in the component the click occured by using the getX() and getY() methods of the MouseEvent to determine which button in the renderer component was clicked. Use something like Rectangle.contains() to match the click location against the buttons.

  • Internal Table to Excel with Column Header line

    Hello everyone,
I need to download Internal table data to excel with a column header line.
    My Code is as follows:
    TYPES:  BEGIN OF y_hdr,
            head(30) TYPE c,
            END OF y_hdr.
Data:  t_hdr TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF y_hdr.
    Fill internal table t_adrcdata
    fill the header table t_hdr
        CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
          EXPORTING
            filename                      = C:\test.xls
            filetype                        = 'DBF'
        IMPORTING
          TABLES
            data_tab                        =  t_adrcdata
           fieldnames                       =  t_hdr
         EXCEPTIONS
           file_write_error                = 1
           no_batch                        = 2
This code gives me a row with column headers.
However they are all truncated after 10 chars.
The truncation is independent of column data length. Data could be of length 2,5 or 40 but the header always displays upto 10 chars.
Keeping the filename as test.xls, when I download it in ASC format instead of DBF the headers are of proper length.
What could I be doing wrong?
I know this topic has been discussed before but my question is pertaining to DBF Format download. The reason I chose DBF format is because it downloads the data in DB format and does not give in to Excel formatting.
    FOr example in ASC format:
1, A field of type Char(12) used to get downloaded into excel without the leading zeros. 000012345678 --> 12345678
    2. Date in format dd-MMM-yyyy in a char(11) field used to get downloaded to excel in dd-MMM-yy format.
When I chose DBF, this issue was resolved. However, the column headers got truncated at 10 chars.
Please feel free to recommend any other way of downloading to Excel and preserving format if this method is incorrect/ there is a better way.

    Hi,
Take 'ASC' format for file type.
But when you declare your internal table to pass for FM you have to create all the fields with char.
    Example:
data: begin of it_exl occurs 0,
            bukrs(04) type c,
            belnr(10) type c,
            buzei(03) type c,
    end of ut_exl.
You need to manipulate your date format and other stuff before appending to this internal table.
    Thanks,
    Deepak.

  • Problem in taking the average of a column and grouping by date

    Hi all,
    I created a logical column using a formula in "Administration". The formula is like;
    Duration%=(Duration*100)/(X-Y).
Then, in "answers", I created a report using Duration% column and another column which is its average. I want to see the average of Duration% values grouped by date.
The numbers in the report are incorrect. What can be the reason for this? Does using logical column which is derived with a formula cause a problem when we take its average?
Thanks in advance for your help..

use avg(Duration% by <"Date Table"."Date Level"> in the answers column.
substitute "Date Table" with your actual time dimension table name, and "Date Level" with your actual date column that you want to group by.

  • Problem with column heading sorting

I have a problem with a classic report.
I created a simple report. We want to sort the report, when we click the column heading. But when we cklick on the column heading, nothing happens. In firefox we get the error "apex.jQuery.datepicker is undefined".
When we created another simple report and connect against another database (but the same web-server), we can sort the report, when we cklick a column heading. On both databases we installed the same apex version (=4.0.1.00.03).
    on "apex.oracle.com" (workspace:ama / user:demo / pwd:demo) I created an example.
what is wrong?? Can anyone help me ??
    Thanks
    Robert

    Hi Jari,
yes, you are right. I changed my query. I attempted to find a solution and so I changed the query several times => I used other tables, with or without date columns, with or without columns in the select and so on.
You said, the problem is the authentication scheme. It crossed my mind that I do another change:
during the creation of my application apex created a login page => page 101. For my example application I don't need a login page, and so I droped the page. After starting the application I saw the error message "page 101 not found ". So I searched for a property where apex definies the "start page" respectively "login page". But I don't found anything. Then I looked into the export file and searched for "101". I found the package procedure "wwv_flow_api.create_auth_setup" and the parameter "p_invalid_session_page", which receive the value "101". In apex the property "Session Not Valid Page" was blank. So I inserted the page number "1" (=the first and sole page in my application).
After the explained changes I could start my report.
I don't know, whether these informations help to find the problem!
    Regards
    Robert

I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied. However I have received all archive log files to my physical Standby db
I have created a Physical Standby database on Oracle 10gR2 (Windows XP professional). Primary database is on another computer.

After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
    DGMGRL> show configuration
    Configuration
    Name: avhtest
    Enabled: YES
    Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
    Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
    Databases:
    avhtest - Primary database
    avhtestls53 - Physical standby database
    Current status for "avhtest":
Warning: ORA-16610: command 'ENABLE CONFIGURATION' in progress
It there anybody that experienced the same problem and/or knows the solution to this?

  • How to sort data in descending order when user clicks on the column heading

    Hi
I have a report called "Top customers", which shows the top customers for a specific product line. It displays the customer name and one column with the total amount spent in the period for each product line. By default, the leftmost product line is sorted in descending order.
If the user wants to know who are the top customers for another product line, they simply click on the column heading to sort the list by that column.
The problem is that when you click for the first time on a sortable column heading, Apex sorts it in ascending order; you need to click on the same column heading again to sort in descending order.
Is it possible to change this behaviour and sort the data in descending order in the first click? So the users don't have to click twice...
    Thanks
    Luis
PS: Apex 3 running on Oracle 10.2.0

    Luis,
See: Can I "catch" a click on a sortable column header of a report?
Take a look at Anton Nielsen's answer with regards to hiding a column and displaying its value instead of the sortable column.
Asumming the following simple report query:
    select product,sales
    from <table>
    Change that into:
    select product
,sales*-1 as reverse_sales -- Select this one as an extra column
    ,sales -- Hide this column
    from <table>
In your report column attributes (of column reverse_sales), html-expression, type #sales#. It then displays the normal sales. However apex will generate a 'order by 2 asc' for the first time. The '2' will refer to the sales*-1 value: sorting it asc, is the same as sorting sales descending...

  • Need to return a cell value in a row where a date was selected from a column

I'm looking for a formula for OS Numbers and can't seem to find it.
I use the MIN function to select the earliest date in a range of cells.  The dates all flow down one column.  I need to be able to have numbers return the contents of a cell in the same row that was selected as the earliest date.
    For example:
    ID
    Exp. Date
    3
    4
    LJ-1
    May-2014
    LJ-2
    Jun-2014
    LJ-3
    Jul-2014
    LJ-4
    Aug-2014
    LJ-5
    Sep-2014
I need to search for the earliest date in the 'Exp. Date' column and once it finds it, return the value from the 'ID' column.
So, in this case, i would need a formula to find May-2014 and return LJ-1 to the cell.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi 86,
Rearrange your table then add another table to find the result:
A2 in Table 1-1 will find the earliest date in Table 1 without having to sort Table 1.
    A2 contains this formula
    =MIN(Table 1::A)
B2 in Table 1-1 uses VLOOKUP to find which ID matches that MIN date.
The reason for rearranging your table (Table 1) is that VLOOKUP compares a search value to the values in the leftmost column of a specified collection.
(in this case, it looks in the leftmost column of the range Table1::A:B, then returns a match from column 2 of that range).
I forgot to include "Exact Match" in the VLOOKUP formula. Is that what you want, or "Close Match"?
Edit: I don't suppose that matters because MIN will always give an exact match. Duh!

    Ian.

Please post a concise and complete example. Include table DDL and sample data INSERT statements.
Cause the solution depends on your actual structure. Otherwise take a look at the
    nodes() method.
    E.g.
    DECLARE @Sample TABLE
    ID INT IDENTITY ,
    Data XML
    INSERT INTO @Sample

  • Problem in Date format display at table leve in 3.1i System

    Hi Team,
I am facing an issue in 3.1i Prod System.
When i go and check at SE16 transaction and table name is TCURR. Execute the same i am getting date displayed in an unknown format.
    For Eg:
    Valid From Date
    79908769
When i double click the same record, it displays the correct date format:
    12/30/2009
when i download the table contents into excel sheet it should display the correct date format: instead of 79908769 to 12/30/2009.
But my problem is either to display the proper format of date at the table level.
Is there anyway to download the contents in correct dated format without disturbing the data elements or domain at table level.
Please let me know how to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Sunil Kumar

You need to write abap program to download into the required format.
once you get the date field in your work area...
say you have date field in wa_data-budat , after that use the above syntax you will get the required format.
    DATA :
         v_date type sy-datum.
         write wa_data-budat to v_date  MM/DD/YYYY.
Please let me know if you need further information.

there was a problem retrieving data deduplication schedule

    Hi,
After changing dedup schedule once we are receiving this error and not able to change it any more.
there was a problem retrieving data deduplication schedule
Take a look @ PowerShell cmdlets for dedupe here:
    PowerShell dedupe cmdlets
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848450.aspx
Of your interest are Remove-DedupeSchedule and New-DedupSchedule ones. Try removing set schedule
you have now, making sure the status is "no jobs" and then create new schedule to see would it make the difference.
    Good luck!

  • Fonts suddenly look messy

First, let me introduce myself. This is my first session in the Photoshop Elements forum. I'm an artist and designer with 7 online shops and 4 online studios.
I have Photoshop Elements 9. My OS is Windows 7, which I'm using on a Dell Studio 17 laptop. I've been using Photoshop Elements for about 7 years, starting with E4. I would classify myself as intermediate.
Right now I need to create a new shop banner. Suddenly today, the fonts look messy. The letters have lost their smoothness. I'm attaching an image of the banner, without beveling or dropshadowing, which I plan to add once I have this problem resolved.
I hope one of you experts can help me.
    Cheers,
    Marian

    MTSTUNER--
    Thank you so much!
I must have clicked that button by mistake when trying to click on the bold button. I cannot thank you enough.
I have a side business in which I create business designs, including shop banners for customers, so I CANNOT have a defective banner myself.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    --columnname,'01-JAN-2000'),'DD-MON-YY')
This doesn't seem to be correct your format is 01-JAN-2000, however the date format you pass is DD-MON-YY
