Problem in Configuration of J2EE Engine

Hi All!
I want to run a program I' ve made but I can't. When I try to run it I get the following message:
"The J2EE Server name and port number are not configured correctly. Check your settings under 'Preferences>>SAP J2EE Engine'."
When I go to the settings I write on Message Server Host : "localhost" and on the Message Server Port "8080".
Does somebody know how to fix this?
Thanks!
Alejandro.

hi,
Ask your admin Message Server Host  and give that And Message servert port number is you can give 3601.
Then u can go window-showView - j2eeengine then there displayed the J2ee engine nodes there all three nodes are colored green then the server is UP otherwise ask your admin up the server.
Then you can deploy ur applcaition in J2ee engine,
Thanks,
Lohi.

  • SSL Configuration on J2EE Engine

    Hi,
    I have an SAP PI System and trying to configure the communiction between the Internet Browser and SAP J2EE Engine with SSL protocol
    I have sucessfully implemented the server authentication and its fine
    For the client authentication i have followed the follwing steps:
    1. Created a certificate and imported the signed certificate in Trusted CA with common name as the name of a System user in the SAP System
    2. Visual Admin SSL Provider i have request for client authentication and selected the above signed certificate
    3. Security Provider selected the System user and then mapped the certificate to the system user
    4. Added the modules ClientCertLoginModule as REQUIRED and then the BasicPasswordLoginModule as REQUIRED
    5. Exported the private key and imported the private key into my browser
    After this when i access the URL https://<hostname>:<httpsport>/ i get nothing opening
    it says Internet explorer cannot open page.
    Can anyone guide me as to where am i going wrong
    Rgds

    Hi Karthik and Rohit,
    Thanks for your reply
    I found this
    You can verify that the correct library has been loaded under Dispatcher  ® Libraries  ® core_lib in the Visual Administrator. The iaik_jce.jar should be included in the list of loaded jars and not iaik_jce_export.jar.
    I checked in Visual Admin i was able to find the iaik_jce.jar file in it
    So i beilve that the jar has been deployed.
    And coming back to the question of ssl_service i have created the server authentication certificate under that service and the Client Authentication certificates under Trusted CAs service.
    More over the Server Authentication i mean if i remove the Require Client Authentication from the SSL Provider Service everything works fine i am able to connect via SSL. The problem is when i use the client authentication

  • Configuration of J2EE engine in NWDS 7.1

    Hi All,
    I need to develop a webdynpro application in NWDS 7.1 and deploy it onto a J2EE engine which is installed on a remote host.
    In NWDS 7.0, in Window> Preferences>SAP J2EE Engine,
    I could specify the remote Remote Server Host and Remote server Port.
    How do I do the same in NWDS 7.1?
    I dont see the "SAP J2EE Engine" option in Window-->Preferences ; in NWDS 7.1.
    Please help in configuring the J2EE server in NWDS 7.1 so that i can deploy my webdynpro application.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sunil

    Hi Satish,
    I followed the steps you mentioned.
    But I got an "Invalid Syntax error" in the Web browser when I deployed and ran the application.
    The url when i run an application from NWDS 7.0 in the same server starts with
    http://<server_name>:50200/webdynpro/dispatcher/.......
    But the url when i run the application from NWDS 7.1 (with the configurations suggested by you) starts with
    http://<server_name>:-1/webdynpro/dispatcher/.......
    I have followed the steps you suggested.
    Do I have to specify the Port number somewhere? or is there any other configuration which I need to do?
    Please guide me in this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sunil

  • Problem while installting the J2E engine

    Hello All,
    while installing the Java WAS I am getting the following exception."Caught ESyException in Modulecall: ESAPinstException: error text undefined."
    This occurs when I am suppose to provide the OS user passwords.I am providing the correct passwords that is for sure.
    Let me know the solution.
    Regards

    Hi
    Try to keep your password simple, without any special characters. We got a similar error, and had to reset the OS password a simpler one, then tried and it worked.
    Thanks

  • Problem in Proxy call from an application deployed in J2EE engine

    Hi,
    I am trying Java Sender Proxy --> XI --> DB.
    I have generated o/b proxies using integration builder.
    <b>Following is the code that i am using for proxy call and it runs absolutely fine when runnning stand alone</b>
    <code Controller.java>
    Properties p = new Properties();
    p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
    p.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "server:50004");
    p.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "Administrator");
    p.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "password");
    ctx = new InitialContext(p);
    ref = ctx.lookup("sap.com/ProxySenderEAR/UsersSyncMI_PortTypeBean");
    queryOutHome = (UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref, UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome.class);
    queryOutRemote = queryOutHome.create();
    UserDT_Type reqtype =     new UserDT_Type();
    reqtype.setUsername(name);
    reqtype.setPassword(pwd);
    UsersDBMTResponse_Type response = queryOutRemote.usersSyncMI(reqtype);
    role = response.getRole();
    </code>
    I am including this java file(Controller.java) in the same EJB project ProxyEJB which includes
    my beans and home/local/remote interfaces.
    Then I have created a Web Module Project ProxyWeb, that includes Proxy.jsp.
    In proxy.jsp i am using the following code
    <%
    Controller obj = new Controller();
    String name = request.getParameter("uname");
    String password = request.getParameter("pwd");
    String role = obj.getRole(name,password);
    %>
    Then I have included both ProxyWeb and ProxyEJB in ProxyEAR file, created Enterprise Archive and Deployed in J2EE engine.
    and when I call the jsp...i am not getting expected result.
    When i am debugging the code using try catch blocks for the controller.java...I observed that
    Problem occured at :
    <code>
    queryOutHome = (UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref, UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome.class);
    queryOutRemote = queryOutHome.create();
    </code>
    what i am not able to uderstand is that ...when it is working fine when calling from standalone ...then
    why it's giving me problems when deployed in j2ee engine...
    note: I am using all required jars for XI.(included in ProxyEJB).And I have used NetWeaver Developer Studio for the above EAR,WAR projects.
    Kindly suggest,
    Regards
    Vedavyas

    The JNDI call is different when you call an EJB from inside the J2EE.
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    ref = ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/<JNDI-Name>");

  • J2EE Engine Debugging ... Help required

    <b>There is a problem with the debugging my J2EE applications. I am a new user on SAP Portals. I set the server parameters through the config tool for setting the debugging of the server. But when I opened the Netweaver, it was still showing me the "Debug Mode Off". When i tried to set the problem from the preferences --> J2E Engine by selecting remote installation, it gave me the error "No server was defined under
    sapmnt\.. Configure your server as Remote host"... I tried a lot but could not get through this problem.
    I have a portal installation having a URL "http://kashruq:50000/". Earlier I had set the IP Address for my network card as 10.10.1.10 but later removed it and set the etc\hosts file accordingly. The J2EE server is running fine and the sample Car rental Application is also running fine, but I am unble to debug my J2EE applications, if I need to. Any body help me ?</b>

    Thanks Karsten
    Actually I restarted the server from the Netweaver. But did not get the correct parameters for the debug mode. When I restarted the J2EE engine altogether then only I was able to see that the server0 is running with debug mode ON state. But still if I try to use the debug facility from the netweaver for the J2EE applications and try to set it from the Preferences\J2EE Engine then I still get the error.
    The values I enter in the Preferences for the J2EE engine are:
    server: kashruq (This is my machine name. so i connect to http://kashruq:50000/irj/portal ... etc.)
    port: 3061 (default)
    I set the debug mode through the config tool only. I can not set it from the netweaver, as it gives me error, as I mentioned in my first mail.
    Any help?

    Hello all,
    Now the JAVA engine is started and we can see ( we changed the New size and Max heap size parameters)
    1> SDM
    2> dispatcher node
    3> server 0 node
    in green and status as running.
    But when we login using http://<FQDN HOST NAME>:<port>/irj/portal
    We can see only Welcome screen but nothing really is displayed. The links like search, Advanced search and personalize, logoff are not working.

  • Upgrade J2ee Engine 1.4.2_06 to 1.4.2_11

    Hi,
    In our production XI3.0 SP16 server j2ee engine sutting down if we run many jobs at a time. Currently we are using j2ee 1.4.2_06 , this problem happend due to j2ee engine unstability.
    SAP note says that need to upgrade j2ee from 1.4.2_06 to 1.4.2_11 . Not sure how to do this at OS level and after that where to change parameters for new java 1.4.2_11 settings.
    Before that what files/folders need to take backup.Any idea how to upgrade.
    -cheers !

    Hi Lisa,
    It's known problem in XI. But Apart from SP06, some more reasons are there....
    First, Let me know the RAM size... As utilization increases, due to lack of memory, first J2EE engine stops... Because, J2EE engine needs lots of resources.
    Normally, For 200 Documents/Hr needs 4GB to 6GB RAM.
    Next, There are some standard memory parameter setting which should be set by Basis during installation. That can be changed as per requirement like paging area etc. (I am not sure, which one is required). But this too worked for us.

  • J2EE Engine

    Hi,
    Explain me J2EE engine.If we deploy the Webdynpro-java application at the same time other one deploy the another application,which application take first and what is the procedure to deploy the applications,where we delete the deployed applications.If SDN shows red color what we do that and explain me SDN also and paths also.

    The J2EE engine is the Engine which is going to deploy and execute the webdynpro applications.If only server instance is present and  no child instance is available for the J2EE engine,with this scenario if 2 applications are depolyed at the same time then the J2EE engine is going to process the request which comes first to it.And you are going to get an error saying that 'There are already active session' for the other application is deployed.The child instances are created to balance the load on the server.
    IN J2EE ENGINE SDM is responsible for the deployment.It takes care of all the deployments from various NWDS.
    You can configure the J2EE engine from your NWDS - systempreferences---j2ee engine and provide the details
    SDN--system landscape directory is to list out all the systems implemented in the landscape.
    You can create various 'Techincal systems' to identify the various heterogeneous systems implemented in the landscape.
    WEBAS-ABAP--- to identify the sap systems(like ECC,R3,BW,CRM)
    WEBAS-JAVA---- to identify the j2ee engine.
    THIRDPARTY-----to identify the RDBMS sytem
    XI----
    to identify the XI system
    If any queries then reply to the thread.

    Hi folks,
    i solved it by myself. There was a wrong javaparameter in the settings of the dispatcher.
    -Xgcpolicy.gencon instead of -Xgcpolicy:gencon, my colleague has found it out.

  • Cannot start j2ee engine after installation

    Hi All,
    After installation of WAS 6.30 (Netweaver 04) on IBM AIX 64 bit (with db2) my server is running but very slow.
    When the server is stopped and started the first time after the installation the dispatcher is running just fine but the server is not loading all applications. The server is timing out during load but with telnet it’s possible to load the applications manually.
    I tried to change the memory settings as described in some of the SAP notes but still no luck.
    The server is now failing with the following message in the dev_server0 log file (work directory) and the server is never writing to the output log file.
    ERROR => JHVM_LoadJavaVM: Cannot create Java VM (rc=-6) [jhvmxx_mt.c  466]
    ERROR => Cannot load Java VM (<default>) (rc=-1) [jlnchxxi_mt. 557]
    JLaunchCloseProgram: good bye (exitcode=-1)
    Changing the memory settings back again doesn’t change anything. The server is not starting!
    The server has 2Gb of memory, enough disk space and is running the correct JDK version.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi,
    Thanks for the answers.... but the settings are already tried without success.
    Finally SAP came up with a solution that worked.... deleting the file instance.properties.vmprop solved my problems with starting the j2ee engine.

  • How to Configure Local J2ee Egine with Dev server ECC.

    Hi,

    When I am trying to create and set to Jco RFC Provider in visual admin,
    For creating I am giving the parameters of Dev ECC gaveway host & Service details and Direct application parameters.
    When setting to Jco RFC Provider I am just trying to Connect to VPN as I need to connect Dev ECC. once I connect to VPN My local J2ee is shutting down as well visual admin also disconnecting.
    I am not understood what's the connection wit Local J2ee Engine and VPN connection. Is there any netwrok connections I need to perform Or what else I can do to resolve this issue?

  • Access Dev Studio J2EE engine via SapRouter?

    I have a group of Developers in another country who wish to use the j2ee engine on our local EP6 machine. They can presently access the R3 Dev system via SapRouter, but the question is: can we configure the j2ee engine in the Developer Workplace see the message server on the EP6 machine?
    The path to setting is <i>Preferences > SAP J2EE Engine</i>
    For example can we enter something like:
    H/<localsaprouter>/H/<our saprouter>/H/<EP6 ip address>

    Hi,
    As for as I know ,
    We need SAPlogon (higher vertion preferable but not necesary) for such knid of connection. for the saplogon connection you need application server name, system ID and username and password as described below
    You also need some sort of VPN conection.
    Following are the inputs required for creating Connection from SAP Logon Pad.
    1. Application Server = IP Address or Host Name of SAP Server you want to connect.
    2. SAP Router String = If you are connecting via Firewall accross VPN.
    3. System ID = <SID> ex., DEV, PRD...
    4. System Number = <00> ex., 00, 01 ..99
    5. Select radio Button R/3
    6. Give some description under that field.
    Before doing the above please try to PING the Server at Location A from your machine(should be replying).
    I don't think NWDS have this facility of using sap router remote r/3.
    let me know whther this helps. also reward if so.
