Problem in deploying sample application HelloDB application iPlanet.

I installed iPlanet 6.5 on my windows NT work station and then as per iPlanet documentation I tried deploying the sample HelloDB application. It gives the following error when I say build install
Searching for build.xml ...

Can you please tell me where I'm doing wrong.

Hi,
Could you please post the entire messages that is on the screen right from the time you invoke build followed by the option.
A quick answer from looking at the posted message that I can guess is that, may be build fails at the stage when the directory is created.

    Hi,
    I think you are trying to test the Hello world EJB example shipped with the product. As a first
    step I would recomend you to go through every line of the document on deploying this application,
    since, I too have experienced many errors while trying to deploy the sample applications, but on
    following the documentation, I subsequently overcame all the errors and have been working with the
    applications. So please follow the steps in documentation and let me know, if you still encounter any
    issues.

    I am able to log in to SDM using the same password but not deploy the code.
    I have also tried restarting the server, SDM.

    Hi,
    Try opening Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(administrator) and password. Problem with NWD2004s do the following steps.
    C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
    1. Click on Secure store
    2. Right you will find :
    admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
    Restart the server and try login visual admin
    Now you deploy.... Otherwise see this thread same problem but solved.

  • Problem in deploying and packaging the application and web component.......

    i am new to j2ee!! i am using sun application server 8 2005Q1(for j2ee)
    i have deployed my application successfully!!!!!
    yet i found an error(404) when i called it thro my web browser
    i am using oracle as my back end
    anybody plz help me as soon as possible.........

    Hi,
    I am not sure what some of your phrases mean but i want to clarify a couple of things.
    0) Be happy to make the switch
    1) SJAS contains a webserver, where iPlanet appserver did not and one was forced to put a webserver in front of the appserver.
    2) The iplanet webserver plugin was configured to forward all request which have /NasApp to the appserver, using the KCP protocol, SJAS LB plugin is configured on a webapplication context root base using http and or https protocol.
    3) If your logic needs the HTML pages (which is doubtful in a proper design) the pages must reside on the appserver.
    4) Deployment to SJAS can be done through asadmin CLI, deploytool or webbased admin GUI instead of just putting the EAR in the autodeploy directory.

  • Problem when deploying on tomcat two applications with same appmodule name

    We have deployed two different adf-uix applications to a tomcat application server.
    Each of the two applications has one application module, the two application modules have the same name. This seems to cause a conflict between the two applications.
    After starting the application server, we can run first the application 'A' and then the application 'B' or viceversa, every time the first application works and the second doesn't. When running the second application we get messages like 'table or view doesn't exist'.
    Having the application modules with different names seems to solve the problem, but it seems not so easy to change the application module name on an existing and rather complex application.
    Any suggestion? Please help.
    Thanks, Mauro

    I had the same problem and the only way to solve it was to change the app module name.

    hello,
    when you deploy reports JSPs they still require the reports specific componentes (e.g. TLD file, classes, ...) etc be available. i doubt that's the case in your ear file.

    No problem.
    Make sure your resources are set at the proper location. Could be that tje jni.jar is under a 'lib' folder?
    Normally you don't have to worry about deployment a lot if you are using like Netbeans 7.2 or higher.
    When you press 'Clean and build' it creates your deployed files in the 'dist' folder.
    You can change specification by adapting the build.xml file.
    Of course lot of different possibilities are available for deployment!
    You can find lot of info here:
    [http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/jfxpub-deployment.htm|http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/jfxpub-deployment.htm]
    Important to know is if you want to work with
    - a standalone application (self-contained or not)
    - with webstart
    - or with applets
    (In my case I'm using webstart, but also Self-Contained Application Packaging (jre is also installed!)

    Hello, i want to deploy the applications in Mosaic. I'm following these instructions:
    Use the Ant build files provided with the Mosaic ES2 installation to deploy sample applications to the server.
    To run Ant, type ant from the command line. When you do not provide arguments, Ant looks for a build.xml file in the current directory.
    For descriptions of the sample applications, see Sample applications.
    Deploy all samples and demos
    In the following directory, run Ant:
    [Mosaic ES2 install directory]/samples/
    Deploy the general sample applications
    In the following directory, run Ant:
    [Mosaic ES2 install directory]/samples/general/
    Deploy the MAX2009 application
    In the following directory, run Ant:
    [Mosaic ES2 install directory]/samples/max2009/
    I've set the ant_home enviromment variable but it still gives me the 'ant' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
    Thanks.

    Hodmi, i've done that but now i got this error:

    so I try to deploy it in a standalone weblogic but this different problem appear to me,I think all this problems because of migration ADF faces to Apache trinanad although I fixed all my code after migration and compile it without any problems.can I deploy my app to weblogic 10 from my Jdeveloper 10g without migrating my Application To Apache?

  • Problem while deploying WD application thru SDM

    Hi friends ,facing problem while deploying webdynpro application on SDM.It takes much time deployment but for the past 1 or 2 day its not working properly ..i..e error is coming while deploying WD application................................................"Cannot login to the SAP J2EE Engine using user and password as provided in the Filesystem Secure Store. Enter valid login information in the Filesystem Secure Store using the SAP J2EE Engine Config Tool. For more information, see SAP note 701654.."
    If how know how to resolve this then waiting for ur response..
    Thanx in advance
    Hanif

    Hi Hanif,
    The SDM password should be reset if it is not the same as mentioned in your Filesystem Secure Store or vice versa.
    If you have changed your administrator password, kindly do change the same in secure store as well via the config tool.
    Use the Config Tool to change the entry in secure storage as follows:
    1. Start the Config Tool.
               (Go to  <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat.)
    2. Select the secure store node.
               The configuration for the secure storage in the file system appears.
    3. Select the admin/password/<SID> entry.
    4. Enter the administrator user's new password in the "Value" field and choose "Add".
    5. Choose "File" --> "Apply" to save the data.
              Note: Contrary to the message that appears, you do not need to restart the server or cluster for this change to take effect.
    6. Finally restart SDM server.

    I have used jdeveloper to create an application.It is a

  • Problem in Proxy call from an application deployed in J2EE engine

    Hi,
    I am trying Java Sender Proxy --> XI --> DB.
    I have generated o/b proxies using integration builder.
    <b>Following is the code that i am using for proxy call and it runs absolutely fine when runnning stand alone</b>
    <code Controller.java>
    Properties p = new Properties();
    p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
    p.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "server:50004");
    p.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "Administrator");
    p.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "password");
    ctx = new InitialContext(p);
    ref = ctx.lookup("sap.com/ProxySenderEAR/UsersSyncMI_PortTypeBean");
    queryOutHome = (UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref, UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome.class);
    queryOutRemote = queryOutHome.create();
    UserDT_Type reqtype =     new UserDT_Type();
    reqtype.setUsername(name);
    reqtype.setPassword(pwd);
    UsersDBMTResponse_Type response = queryOutRemote.usersSyncMI(reqtype);
    role = response.getRole();
    </code>
    I am including this java file(Controller.java) in the same EJB project ProxyEJB which includes
    my beans and home/local/remote interfaces.
    Then I have created a Web Module Project ProxyWeb, that includes Proxy.jsp.
    In proxy.jsp i am using the following code
    <%
    Controller obj = new Controller();
    String name = request.getParameter("uname");
    String password = request.getParameter("pwd");
    String role = obj.getRole(name,password);
    %>
    Then I have included both ProxyWeb and ProxyEJB in ProxyEAR file, created Enterprise Archive and Deployed in J2EE engine.
    and when I call the jsp...i am not getting expected result.
    When i am debugging the code using try catch blocks for the controller.java...I observed that
    Problem occured at :
    <code>
    queryOutHome = (UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref, UsersSyncMI_PortTypeHome.class);
    queryOutRemote = queryOutHome.create();
    </code>
    what i am not able to uderstand is that ...when it is working fine when calling from standalone ...then
    why it's giving me problems when deployed in j2ee engine...
    note: I am using all required jars for XI.(included in ProxyEJB).And I have used NetWeaver Developer Studio for the above EAR,WAR projects.
    Kindly suggest,
    Regards
    Vedavyas

    The JNDI call is different when you call an EJB from inside the J2EE.
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    ref = ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/<JNDI-Name>");
