Problem in earlywatch report generation

Dear all, i installed a solution manager 4.0 sp12 and i would like to configure EWA self service using Solman 4.0.
I did these steps in the configuration:
A. In the satellite systems i configured the sld, using rz70, and connect the system to the sap gateway of solman.
B. Maintained SMSY and create the required trusted RFC connections from SM to satellite system. All connection and authorization passed in SM59. I used SAP_ALL/SDCCN_ALL role and assigned objects S_RFC*.
C. Assigned the system to a logical system.
D. Created the a new solution and activate "Solutions Monitoring > Earlywatch Alert"
E. Activated and maintained required RFC in SDCCN in satallite system.
F. I executed the rtcctool in the satellite system and all was ok.
G:I executed the SESSION_REFRESH in the satellite system, the session finisched successfully but it did not send the data to the solution manager.
Did I miss out any steps. Can any one share any help ?

Hi Luca,
do you have a red flag in transaction dswp under EWA reports? If you don't have a red flag or the sign for being scheduled for that satellite system, then you need to create it first.
If there is a red flag you should get this text:
Dates for this session are overdue
The data for this session is overdue. Data has not yet been transferred from the associated satellite system.
Go to the Service Data Control Center (transaction SDCCN) in the satellite system and check why the data has not been sent.
Typical sources of errors are:
The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.
The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.
Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).
A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data.

Besides the steps you have actived SDCCN in transaction SMSY under Environment? It needs to be activated from SolMan itself.

Problem with RTF Report Generation From OAF Page

Hi,
I have a requirement where from OAF page, on a button click, a RTF report should be generated. Template has been already defined for the same. If I want to generate report in .xls or pdf, it is working fine but in case of RTF it is showing that "Word cannot start the converter mswrd632" and then onclick of ok, it is displaying some junk data in word doc.
Below is the code written in PFR-

Problems with PDF report generation on WEB application

Hi friends.
I have the following problem.
I heve many reports running on a client/server system. But we decide to move one by one, the menu options of the system to the WEB, using iAS. Most of the reports works just fine, but some of them works wrong.
But I am not talking about the data or something like that, I am talking about the layout format. All of them out a grey rectangle in all the pages of the PDF reports. The report doesn't have any color inside, but when we move the file, to the UNIX server and test it, it is generated not in a white normal report but grey and white colors.
anyone have an idea what is it happend?

the problem may be due to your local system settings..
try this..
open internet explorer.-> click on tools menu-> click on internet options-> select connections tab-> press lan settings-> uncheck the proxy address if you have any and press ok....
now try your web report.. hope it will help your concern..

Word report generation problem

I have a problem with my report generation toolkit. I have programmed a test program (main_program), where i can load a data and print it to a word document.
First i have to load the data(data.txt) and then i have to push the print button.
The header of my is ok, but when the Subvi (write2) tried to generate the graph in the Document always an error occured!
I got an error message but i don*t found the reason why the program stops!?
Error Message:
Fehler -2146827284 ist bei Exception occured in Microsoft Graph, Die Interior-Eigenschaft des Series-Objektes kann nicht zugeordnet werden.. Help Path is C:\Programme\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1031\graph10.chm and context 0 in Word_Set_Chart_Colors.vi->Word Set Graph Colors.vi->write2.vi->Report.vi->Main_program.vi aufgetreten

Report generation toolkit excel, decimal?

Hello!
I have problem with the report generation toolkit excel!
I only gets 3 decimals in excel?
Ex. In labview = 0.0458943 when i send it to excel = 0.046.
I use Excel easy table.vi to transfer my array, should I use someting else?
Ive already tryid to increase the decimal in excel but i doesent work.

It sounds like you are writing a 2-D Array of doubles to excel. The Excel Easy Table.vi converts numerics to strings before writing data to excel. It is written to always use 3 decimal places. You need to convert your 2-D array of doubles to strings before writing the info to excel. Here are a couple of ways to make the conversion. The top method is based on how the Excel Easy Table.vi makes the conversion. Note that in both examples the format string constant sets the number of decimal places to 8.

Report Generation Toolkit files in incorrect location after installing deployment

TestStand 2010 SP1 + LabVIEW 2011 + Report Generation Tookit
After installing a deployment, the location of NI_Excel.lvclass is expected to be at ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\Excel\NI_Excel.lvclass (see attachment)
but the path of the file is located at ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
In the deployment image, under the target folder, the file is in ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
and the lvproj finds the file.
The lvproj in the installation finds the file in ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
Renaming the folder from data to Excel fixes this problem.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

I am facing the same issue when I create the TS deployment through utility using TS2012.I thought of adding the file to the Teststand workspace and give the destination in to supportVIs directory.But even tthat didn't worked as it was copying all excel vis in to two locations.
Even adding the Directory path in to TS search directory options to "\data folder" is not resolving the issue and LAbVIEW Vis are not able to locate it.

Report generation only one time successfull

Hi @all,
we are facing the problem that the report generation process is only working one time successfully, the next time it ends with error. After restarting the service on the WWI server the next generation is successfull, but the second one will be "Error" again.
Does anybody faced this issue before and can provide a solution?

PS: in the meantime we created the respective service again on the server - no result, still only one successfull run at a time.

we never have had similar problems. May be these hints might help:
a.) check wich generation server is used during the generation and if any of the potential servers "stop" (WWI process does not proceed etc as explained by you).
b.) check if "report from template" works (assuming that use use the "old" fashioned client WWI version) => if this works than there might be a problem with SAP <=> connection (RFC) ...
c.) check please if only this WWI report (more precisely combination of generation variant and language) gives result to the "crash" of WWI process and no other one => in this case you should check WWI template
Reading you explanation I assume:
1.) there was no change in SAP set up
2.) there was no change in WWI set up (number of servers, WWI version etc.)
and we are talking (??) about a new generation variant/language combination which has never been used before (?).

Report Generation Toolkit failure with Win 7 and Labview 2013

I recently had my computer updated to Windows 7 and am now seeing a problem with the Report Generation toolkit (version 2013) when working with Excel files. If I try to run the New Report.vi with report type Excel selected I get error -2146777998. Doing the same thing with Word selected eventually opens Word, although this takes about ten seconds, but it does not generate an error. Selecting Standard Report or HTML also run without errors.
I've researched this error on line but I keep ending up .NET and C# forums where everything goes over my head. Has anybody got any suggestions?

I found the solution to this particular source of error code -2146777998. There are two template files that reside in C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\templates\Report by the name of MSOffice_RGT_Template.dot and MSOffice_RGT_Template.xlt. The problem came down to that these templates got corrupted somehow during the fresh install. As soon as I replaced them with versions from another machine the problem disappeared.
Just as a side note, I discovered the problem by kicking off the MS Office Report Express vi and out came a much clearer message that aimed me at the templates. Not quite sure why that message isn't echoed into the individual subvi's on the pallette, but life is a mystery.

Report generation delay

Hi,
I had a problem with teststand report generation at the end of the test. The report generation is taking too long, while it is appending the report.
My report is in ascii text format and will attach the report to the pre-existing file. The typical test has about 100 steps, and the test exists the sequence when a step fails.
I had tried before the on-the-fly report option, but I had some other problems with it.
I think two main reasons for the delay is: Filtering for Failed steps and appending to the big file.
But I don't how to solve this. Does any body has any ideas without using on-the-fly method.

Hi,
what kind of resultfiltering are you doing? There can be a huge potential of improvement; this is because you can "filter" the results of each step during runtime of the sequence and discard every result which does not pass this filter. The default filterfunction of the reportgeneration takes place during reportgeneration, so after all results already have been collected. This can be inefficient, exp. with large resultlists.
The function used for "runtime-filtering" woulod be an override od the "PostResultListEntry"-Callback.

Error on WWI report generation

Dear all,
for our new ECC 6.00 EhP5 system we set up a new WWI server on Windows Server 2008 R2, everything has been set up accordingly and the RFC calls are working fine.
When we tried to generate the first report with a dummy template (only ph value is included and "Report from Value" runs fine) we receive the following error:

I do not understand what does it mean when it says to replace the files. At the bottom of the link it has a zip file and I opened it and found the above files but
I am so lost on what exactly to do next. Do I just copy and paste and put in my NI LV folder from my computer or do I do something else?
I also do not know how I can mass compile directories.
Does anyone have an idea? If you can give a detailed description I will very much appreciate it.

To mass compile, to go Tools->Advanced->Mass Compile. Choose your directly and run the mass compile.

Decimal delimiter and excel report generation

Hello,
I've a problem with the "Report Generation Toolkit" while trying to generate reports in MS Excel.
I first select data from an Access database table. Although the database table contains information
in string-format as well as numbers, in the first instance it'll be passed as an array of strings to the
report generation vi's (generate easy table).
While my computer's region settings (WinXP) are always set to german standard I now get different
results if I on the one hand try to generate a report table in Word-format (Word Easy Table) and
on the other hand a report in Excel-format (Excel Easy Table).
While all numbers are displayed correctly within the Word-table, they aren't within the Excel-table.
Thereby (Excel-table) the numbers are converted falsely as shown below:
0,12345 -> 0,12345 (values < 1 are displayed correctly)
1,2345 -> 12.345 (false)
In my opinion there's a problem with the decimal delimiter. Does anybody have an idea of how to maybe
modify this way of working only within my application without changing my computer's region settings?

On the one hand you can configure LabView to either use the localized decimal point or not (Menu Tools-->Options->Frontpanel->Use localized decimal point), on the other hand you can format singlse strings either with or without using the localized decimal point. The VI "format sting.vi" can use the format-sting %.; or %,; to define the decimal point. (Just make a double-left click on the VI to start the format-string editor for help).

Report-generation vi problem

On a Windows XP system using the "Text Report Example" vi, the (read) report property node item "TextFont" (stdole.Font) at the beginning of the "Font Style" vi which is a part of the "Set Report Font" vi is returning this error:
"-1073741819 Unknown System Error in Font Style.vi->Set Report Font.vi->Easy Text Report.vi"
Any suggestions as to a cause and cure?

This Knowledge Base from NI's website actually deals with this problem. The fix depends upon whether or not you have the Report Generation Toolkit for LabVIEW. There are fixes for whether or not you have the Toolkit. Hope this helps.
