Hi Sivashakti,
In provided exception you could see the No class def found error for the GUID Generator factory class. The .sda which contains the jar file of GUID is not deployed, so redeploy the .sda file which is containing the GUID code and hopefully it would work.

  • Problem to launch slideshow with automator

    Hi,
    i need to launch, at the computer start, a slideshow that i created. For this, i used automator, drag and drop the action "Launch a slideshow". But on the right panel, i do not have access to the list of my albums in order to find my slideshow. What should i do? I am using Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.9.
    Thanks in advance.
    Damien

    That depends on what application you are trying to use to play the slideshow.
    If it's iPhoto, you need to use an action before that one to specify the slideshow from within iPhoto. Try iPhoto's action "Get Specified iPhoto Items" to name a specific slideshow by using the "+" button in the lower left corner of the action, and then have the "Play iPhoto Slideshow" action.
    If it's some other application that doesn't manage the slideshows and photos, for example Keynote, then use Finder's action "Get Specified Finder Items" to specify the file. After that, use the application's action to play the slideshow.
    If you need to open the file in the application before playing it, you can use Finder's action "Open Finder Items" to choose which application to open the file. I don't think it will be necessary, but I don't know what application you are using so I can't try it out.

  • Launching Multiple Processes With JWS

    Is it possible to launch multiple processes with JWS? I'd like to specify in the jnlp 2 applications to run. Each application must run in its own java.exe process. Why you ask?
    I've created a mission critical application in JWS that requires the application to be active at all times. If the application crashes, the second application detects the crash and restarts the jnlp.
    How can this be accomplished? I'd like to stay away from created another JVM via JNI if possible.

    Invoking javaws from the application URL is not scalable. LOL! When people talk about 'scalable' they are usually referring to numbers of the order of '2000', not '2'.
    To cover something mentioned in another reply..
    Can you get the path to the jar by getResource()?Nope. Sun considers it not to be the business of apps., to know the location of the classes on disk. They have gone to considerable trouble to make it unavailable to applications.

    Hi Ramesh,
      I recomend you the next steps:
          1.- Go to http://serrver:port/dir and click in Administration option. Click in Repository and choose Java Web Start Administration. Click in Restore Archives and Generate New Signature.
          2.- On the other hand you can open Exchange Profile and put the Fully Quialified Domain Name in all properties where the host name have been used.
          3.- Please, coul you attach the content of XML file in List on Resources option in Java Web Start Administration?

  • File association with JWS and windows

    Hi,
    We are moving all our applications over to JWS from install anywhere. One final hurdle we have is the requirement to associate a file extension with a given JWS application.
    e.g a double clicking a .foo file will launch JWS application MYJWSFooApp.
    As install anywhere defines the install directory and exe file this is possible. Has anyone managed it with JWS ?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Yes - you can do so with the new association feature in Java Web Start 1.5
    Basically you specific the file ext and/or mime-type that you want to associate with in the jnlp file; and when javawebstart launch the application, it will prompt you to see if you want to create the association.
    Refer to the JNLP spec changes in Java Web Start 1.5 for more details:
    http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/maintenance/jsr056/jnlp_spec.html#4756982
    You can download J2SE 1.5-beta (which includes javawebstart) now and give it a try!

  • Sending "Cookie" header  with JRE 1.5.0_07 doesn't work with JWS

    Hi
    I have a JWS application that runs from JRE 1.4.0_XX to JRE 1.5.0_06
    The app sends a "Cookie" header to our webserver
    HttpURLConnection tc = (HttpURLConnection)repository.openConnection();
    tc.setRequestProperty("Cookie", "GLINK=TOKENID");
    Now this has worked thru 20 different runtime versions since 1.4.0_xx until JRE 1.5.0_07 was released. My code has remained unchanged for 3 years. And with JRE 1.5.0_07 the "Cookie" header is simply gone in the webserver or never sent at all. The changelog for 1.5.0_07 only has a rough description of what has changed. I can see that SUN has made som changes to class HttpUrlConnection in 1.5.0_07 by comparing class files against 1.5.0_06 and apparently disturbed som funtionality that worked before. Other headers are received but not the "Cookie" header. If the application is executed without JWS, for example with Eclipse or Jbuilder, the "Cookie" header is received by the web server and all other headers as well.
    Any ideas what SUN has done in 1.5.0_07 and JWS ?? and more specifically in class URLConnection or HttpURLConnection.
    Here is some code example to test the issue:
    Run this code with and without Java Web Start
    With JWS, the "Cookie" header is never received by the server.
    without JWS, the header value is reveived.
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class HTTPTest
    public static byte[] crLfArr = {13,10};
    public static String contenttype_ = "text/plain";
    public static BufferedReader retval = null;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException
    int tecken = (int)'X';
    String boundary = "12345xyzzy";
    URL repository = new URL("http://myserver");
    URLConnection tc = (URLConnection)repository.openConnection();
    tc.setDoOutput(true);
    tc.setDoInput(true);
    tc.setAllowUserInteraction(false);
    tc.setRequestProperty("Content-Type"," multipart/form-data; boundary=" + boundary);
    tc.setRequestProperty("Cookie", "GLINK=TOKENID");
    OutputStream out = tc.getOutputStream();
    printPartHeader(out, boundary, "filtag" , "filnamn");
    out.write(tecken);
    printEndBoundary(out,boundary);
    out.close();
    retval = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(tc.getInputStream()));
    public static void printEndBoundary(OutputStream out, String boundary) throws IOException
    String str;
    str = "--" + boundary + "--";
    out.write(str.getBytes());
    out.write(crLfArr);
    out.write(crLfArr);
    public static void printPartHeader(OutputStream out,
    String boundary,
    String field,
    String filename) throws IOException
    String str;
    printBoundary(out,boundary);
    str = "Content-Disposition: form-data; name=\"" + field + "\"";
    out.write(str.getBytes());
    if (filename.length() > 0) {
    str = "; filename=\"" + filename + "\"";
    out.write(str.getBytes());
    out.write(crLfArr);
    str = "Content-Type: " + contenttype_;
    out.write(str.getBytes());
    out.write(crLfArr);
    out.write(crLfArr);
    public static void printBoundary(OutputStream out, String boundary) throws IOException
    String str;
    str = "--" + boundary;
    out.write(str.getBytes());
    out.write(crLfArr);

    Hi,
    I decompiled the HttpURLConnection implementation in question from the rt.jar file. I do not think that you can find the source code for these SUN-specific implementations anywhere (except maybe through the new Java 6.0 collaboration process).
    JAD did the trick.
    For the standard classes (packages java.*, javax.*), I think that the most current source code is included in the corresponding JDK download.
    As to the JWS vs. standalone effect, I do not know what happens there.
    Maybe Java uses a different HttpURLConnection implementation when running as a standalone application?
    For our applet, the problem is definitely there. The cookie header was set but already removed when the CookieHandler method was called.
    The trouble is, that our applet can operate multiple independent sessions (with different session-ids), so a global CookieHandler is not an option. The only reason why I previously had to implement my own CookieHandler implementation in 1.5 was in order to remove unwanted Cookies which were otherwise inherited from the browser session by the CookieHandlers applet default implementation.
    I also entered a bug report (on Wednesday already)...
    regards,
    Gunnar

              1.59 GB          Page-outs
    Any Input?  Thanks.

    Symptom:  You have a very large number of pageouts for having been up for only 2 days since your last boot.  that averages out to 2 pageouts per minute, and since you most likely are not using your Mac 24/7, you most likely had some very high pageout rates while you were using your Mac.
    A high pageout rate generally results in slow performance.
    Why you have a high pageout rate is unknown, but you should look for memory hungry apps.  Activity Monitor can help there.
    Carbonite can add to your disk contention if it is doing backups while you are using your system.  If it is doing backup during the middle of the night while you are sleeping, that is not an issue.
    You could consider either running fewer memory hungry apps concurrently, or adding more RAM to your system (Crucial.com and MacSales.com are highly respected RAM vendors by this and other Mac related forums).
    If you suspect 3rd party additions affecting your performance, you could boot in "Safe Mode" which will not load 3rd party stuff during boot and login.  Boot holding the "Shift" key to enter Safe Mode.
    You could also run 'sar -g' to monitor your pageout activity over time both in "Safe Mode" and booted normally
    Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
    sar -g 60 100
    which will report your pageouts once a minute for 100 minutes (adjust the numbers to suit your tastes).  Now use your system as you normally would, and go back and review the sar output when you notice you are experiencing performance issues.  What you really want to see is mostly zeros, with an occasional blip of a few pageouts.  Sustained pageouts or huge runs of high pageout numbers is an indication that you are using more RAM than you have available and should look for why, and if the app you are running really does need lots of RAM, then think about buying more.

  • Problem in launching sunMC 4.0 Web console

    Does anybody have problem in launching sunMC 4.0 web console from a browser?
    I have installed sunMC 4.0 on a Solaris 10 upgrade server.
    When I type the URL of the sunMC 4.0 server with the default port 8080 I gets the welcome page giving me two options:
    - Launch Web Console

    - Launch Java Console
    None of the options works for me.
    Clicking on "Launch Web Console" ends with error page saying "Unable to Connect". Get the same error regardless of browser: Firefox or IE.
    Clicking on "Launch Java Console" gives me "Unable to launch Sun Management Center"
    When clicking on "Details" button I gets

  • Problem System Launch Daemons

    I ran EtreCheck and found the following problem:
    Problem System Launch Daemons:
              [failed] com.apple.AOSNotificationOSX.plist
              [failed] com.apple.wdhelper.plist
    How can I fix it? I couldn't find these files in the ~/Library.

    Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
    Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups. If you upgraded from an older version of OS X, you'll need the Apple ID and password that you used, so make a note of those before you begin.
    When you restart, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process in Setup Assistant. That’s when you transfer the data from a backup.
    Select only users and Computer & Network Settings in the Setup Assistant dialog—not Applications or Other files and folders. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
    After that, run Software Update.
    If the problem is resolved after the clean installation, reinstall third-party software selectively. I can only suggest general guidelines. Self-contained applications that install into the Applications folder by drag-and-drop or download from the App Store are usually safe. Anything that comes packaged as an installer or that prompts for an administrator password is suspect, and you must test thoroughly after reinstalling each such item to make sure you haven't restored the problem.
    I strongly recommend that you never reinstall commercial "anti-virus" products or "utilities," nor any software that changes the user interface or modifies the functions of built-in applications. If you do that, the problem is likely to recur.
    Before installing any software, ask yourself the question: "Am I sure I know how to uninstall this without having to wipe the volume again?" If the answer is "no," stop.
    Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it.

  • Application Client Enity Manager cannot find Persistence Unit with JWS

    I have an Enterprise Application Project in Netbeans 6.7.1.
    The enterprise application client module has the business code and the
    persistence unit (TopLink) defined in the app-client.jar. I can run this
    application clinet from NB without a problem. I can also run it with JWS
    if I remove the EnityManager.
    I'm using JPA (EnityManager) in a Java SE environment.
    When I try and run the app-client from Java Web Start I get an error
    that the EnityManager cannot find the PU. The persistence unit is packaged in the app.ear->app-client.jar->META-INF->persistence.xml.
    There's not a wealth of information, that I could find on the net, but this
    seems to be correct.
    The error I get is:
    INFO: ACC009: Load Application Class: [jws.Main]

    Returned null to createEntityManagerFactory.
    Any ideas on what I need to do to properly package the PU for an Enterprise Application Client ??
    Thanks,
    David

    I solved this problem.
    When we call resources from EAR application, WebLogic adds "Cache-Control=private, no-cache, no-store, s-maxage=0, must-revalidate" to all responses header.
    It was the reason of error occurence.
    I used filter from http://flavio.tordini.org/http-headers-filter to remove Cache-Control from header when calling jar resources.
    After that, applicatiom started to work again.

  • JOOLE launch IE with content

    Hi All,
    I'm using Hyperion 11 and I am struggling with launching IE with JOOLE but havign the content generated on the fly. I basically want to use it as a small help node (a coloured circle on a dashboard) popup that the user can click to see some help associated with that particular data entry field. I have the bits I need but unfortunatly not the technical expertise to assemble them into what I need.
    I can launch IE to a webpage okay:
    var ie = new JOOLEObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    ie.Visible = true
    ie.navigate2("http://www.oracle.com")
    I can see how to have javascript populate an empty webpage on the fly, lots of examples on the old web but shorthand something to the effect off:
    newwin = open('url','newName’);
    newwin.document.write (‘html string to include’);
    I've trawleld my way through the Methods and properties avaliable in the microsoft msdn for IE:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa752084(v=vs.85)
    But i just can't figure out how to integrate all the components together so that onclick JOOLE launches a new IE window sizes it to about 250 wide and 500 tall and populates the window with html on the fly.
    I could have Joole generate a html file and save it to something like C:/temp on the users machine and then load this in the browser but this will potentially leave an untidy temp file and I dont really need to permenantly save the file.
    Any help much appreciated (or alternate solutions, although i'm trying to avoid using notepad or word) or if I do figure it out i'll postback a reply with solution.
    thanks again

    Here's one solution to the problem I was having above (it is al little untidy but works), maybe someone else will find this handy in the future:
    var ie = new JOOLEObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    ie.Visible = true
    ie.AddressBar = true
    ie.MenuBar = true
    ie.Toolbar = false
    ie.Width = 400
    ie.Height = 700
    ie.Left = 0
    ie.Top = 0
    ie.resizable = true
    ie.Navigate2("about:blank")
    ie.document.body.style.backgroundColor="#D5D2CA";
    ie.document.body.innerHTML="<html tag>Your html goes here</html tag>";
    If using inline css etc for styling you'll need \ any " marks.
