Problem in launching webstart application when using version atribute

Hello Experts,
I am trying out my first example of JNLP. This is my JNLP file.

</jnlp>My Problem is if I remove version="1.0" from <jar > tag application is launching properly. But if I am using version attribute , it is giving me this error while launching the application.
"Unable to load resource :( http://localhost:8092/webApplForWebStart/JNLPTime.jar , 1.0)
java.io.IOException : missing version response from server."
I can't afford to remove the version attribute as it is required for auto-update. Has anyone ever tried faced such problem.? Please help me. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's just as told.
If you're using explicit versions, the server response MUST provide an header to tell which version is returned (you could be using 'wildcards' like 1+).
How are you serving requests? Are you using JnlpDownloadServlet? If so, check docs: extra work is required in order to use version features.
If using your own service google for header (and parameter) name, use exact versions and copy to the response the value you're retrieving from the request.
Bye.

    Hi friends,
Getting the below error while connecting to applications using smart view.Any suggestions could be of very helpful.
Unable to access the application when using SmartView. The user has access to the application DB however:
Either user doesn't get authenticated at all or he gets the following error message:
Cannot open cube view. Analytic Server Error (1051025): User joseph is not permitted to access application 8_RPT
    Regards.

You need to provision in Shared Services the user 'Joseph' to have access to the 8_rpt application.

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

  • Firefox 30 will not launch the ICA Application when using Citrix receiver 4

When trying to launch a Citrix Application with Firefox version 30 it will not launch.
There is no error message appears.
If, you change back to Firefox 29 all works without issues.
How can you get the new version to work Citrix Applciations and Citrix receiver 4.1

The fix for me was to update to the latest version of Citrix Receiver (4.1.0.56461) and then change the plugin settings for Citrix in the about:addons sections from "ask to activate" to "always activate". All working again for me now :)

  • [SOLVED]Xorg crash with some applications when using double screen

    Hi,
I have a TV that I often use to watch dvd from my computer, and to do that I've set it up as a second screen in my xorg.conf, but on a daily basis I use a xorg.conf file with only my main screen. Up until last week I was able to use my second screen without problem, but yesterday I tried and it crashed instantly.
So I ran a few tests, amsn and vlc seems to be 2 applications that makes X crash (though there might be other, but I seem to be able to use chromium firefox and ktorrent just fine).
My WM is not to blame, I've launched X without any WM and vlc still makes X crash.
The problem does not happen when using a single screen.
I thought that my xorg.conf might be the problem, so I used nvidia-settings to create a new one, but that didn't change anything.
Here are my xorg.conf used for dual screen, and the logfile from the Xorg crash:

Sorry this doesn't really help with the Xinerama problem, but since you are using the nvidia driver, have you considered using Twinview instead? You could do composite stuff too with Twinview - last I knew, Xinerama had problems with things that want to use compositing. I don't know how your setup is but if you're not set on using Xinerama, it might be an option to consider.

  • Problem with variables in formulas when using CrystalReportViewer

    Post Author: Aksu
    CA Forum: Formula
Hi! I have a problem with variables in Crystal Reports formulas, when using CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer class from VS2005-project. ReportViewer always gives error:*************Crystal Report Windows Forms ViewerThis field name is not known.Details: errorKindError in File C:\{dir&#93;}\{file}.rpt:Error in formula <mCustomerAttributes>.'Dim result As String'This field name is not known.Details: errorKind ************* Report without variables works fine with Viewer and in Crystal Reports Designer report with variables works also fine. I have tried with both "formula-syntaxes" - basic and crystal. But Viewer always gives error when trying to define new variable.I think the problem might be with CR -versions, because VS-project has formerly been designed to VS2003 and CR9 or 10. Now I'm using VS2005 and CR11. Though I have changed all references to new CrystalDecisions-asseblies (Ver.11.0.3300.0), when I debug the project and checkout the Viewers ReportSources FormatEngine Shows version CR9_2.... I have no idea where it gets this version...***************DEBUG-view when Viewer is created *******************CrystalReportViewer    |_        ReportSourceClassFactoryName ... , Version=11.0.3300.0 , ...    |_            ReportSource            |_                FormatEngine    {CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.FormatEngine}                        |_                        ClientVersionHeader    {CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportServiceVersionHeader}                            |_                            |    version = 920     (int)                            |_                                Static members                                            |_                                        VER_CR9    = 920    (int)**************************************** Could anyone have any answers or tips for this problem? I'd really appreciate it... ---Aksu

Has anyone been able to answer this question?
I am having the same problem:
I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer.  The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI.  I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
    Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
    Error in formula <Report Format>.
    'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula.  If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
    Thanks,
    Tim H.

  • Problems creating a new folder when using webmail

Hi, has anyone else out there encountered problems when trying to create a new folder when using webmail ?
It just seems to create a new folder called 'New Folder' and misses out the step that would normally allow you to rename it to a title of your choice.
A whole list of folders called 'New Folder' is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.
It did used to work as I've used it many times in the past.....but then so did a lot of things before the 'new' and 'improved' version of BT Mail came along.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received (apart from the obvious solution, switch to a mail client).
Maybe it needs flagging to the 'techies'......they must be really busy trying to sort out all the so called teething problems.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

What should happen is that when you click on the + for add a new folder a box should appear, somewhere amongst the folder list. (The list is in alphabetical order so if you have a number of folders previous to the letter N it maybe out of view ) .
The box will have the text " New folder-X," ( see below for the explantion for the -X ) you then delete the text, type in the name you want, hit enter and there it is.
If you don't notice the box, possibly because it's off screen further down the list, you then open and close the list, or log out the next time you view the list it, or they, are simply named New folder.
So you now have umpteen " New folders ", here's how to rename them.
Place your cursor on the word New Folder in your folder list, you will see a little box appear with" New folder-X,"  x being the number of the new folders you have created., eg -0, -1, -2 etc.
Then double click on it, you should then get a larger box with New folder-X.
Delete the text in the box, type in the name you want for the new folder, hit enter there's you newly named folder.

  • Problem in Master Detail form when using ADF table for Detail

    hi,
    jdev version-11.1.2.1.0
i have create Master detail form using datacontrol drag as ADF Master Form Detail Table.
Now when i create a new row in Detail table using CreateInsert button a blank new row created on the top of detail table.
and other row show that data of previous record based on master.
problem is that i want when i click on createInsert button all row of detail table should be blank and when user fill two or three row then commit.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
if a detail table has data, then createInsert adds to these. If you want to hide existing rows, create a new View Object instance and set its "Retrieve from the Database" option to "No Rows". The use an af:switcher to change the table shown when the user clicks the createInsert button. There is a bit of coding required to have this use case in ADF, but its mostly declarative. Bottom line is that there is no automated option other than creating new rows in a separate page or dialog if you are bothered by existing rows

  • Performance Impact for the Application when using ADFLogger

    Hi All,
I am very new to ADFLogger and I am going to implement this in my Application. I go through Duncan Mill's acticles and got the basic understanding.
I have some questions to be clear.
Is there any Performance Impact when using ADFLogger to slower the Appllication.
Is there any Best Practices to follow with ADFLogger to minimize the negative impact(if exists).
    Thanks
    Dk

Well, add a call to a logger is a method call. So if you add a log message for every line of code, you'll see an impact.
You can implement it in a way that you only write the log messages if the log level if set to a level which your logger writes (or lower). In this case the impact is like having an if statement, and a method call if the if statement returns true.
After this theory here is my personal finding, as I use ADFLogger quite a lot. In production systems you turn the log lever to WARNING or higher so you will not see many log messages in the log. Only when a problem is reported you set the log level to a lower value to get more output.
I normally use the 'check log level before logging a message' and the 'just print the message' combined. When I know that a message is printed very often, I first check the level. If I assume or know that a message is only logged seldom, I just log it.
I personally have not seen a negative impact this way.

I am printing to an Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS. The printed page and page margins are PERFECT (WYSIWYG; "What you see is what you get") when printing either to: (a) the MANUAL FEED TRAY of the Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS; or (b) PDF to view on screen.
HOWEVER, when printing to the LaserWriter using the (ordinary/usual) paper cassette (you know, the thing that holds the 200+ sheeets of blank paper), two margin problems occur: (1) the uppermost portion of page content is shifted down 3/4" (maybe closer to 11/16") vs. its position on the manually fed paper.  This, in turn, causes the botttom portion of the page content to run off below the printed page.  (2) The "unprintable region" on the right edge of the paper expands from 1/8" with the manually fed paper to 7/16" when using the paper cassette.  This shows up as an extra 5/16" (7/16" - 1/8" = 5/16") of white space/missing page content on the right edge.
The problem is consistent and reproduceable.  It happens with cassette fed output from Safari, Word 2011, Acrobat X, TurboTax, Quicken Essentials for Mac, and TextEdit.
BIG problem when printing long documents whose content and margin settings I cannot control (e.g., third-party documents from Acrobat, anything from Quicken Essentials or TurboTax, pages from Safari, etc.).  The only workaround is to feed everything manually (UGGH!).
I suspect the printer driver is faulty since the problem detailed above happens with so many applications.  Is there a way to edit a plist (using the application/utility "Pref Setter" or similar) to overide the driver's margin settings?
I believe the print driver is "Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS v2015.105" (from Sytem Prefences->Print&Scan->Options and Supplies->Driver).
    Any help greatly appreceated.

Thanks!  It works perfectly!  I even saved my original "oversize" document by printing it to PDF with the scaling so the problem is permanently cured, at least for this document.

  • Problems about creating an application client using Netbeans 5.0

    Dear all,
I have created an "enterprise application" project in Netbeans 5.0 and I want to create an AppClient to access the EJBs in the project. Since Netbeans 5.0 did not contain automatic support for AppClients. I need to do some configurations to make it act like an AppClient. (I am forced to use version 5.0 but not 5.5)
After searching in google, I found the following article about creating an AppClient in Netbeans:
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/41/app-clients.html
I read through the steps in this web page and carefully apply it to my own enterprise application. Everything was fine but when I cleaned and built it, Netbeans told me there's something wrong in the build.xml of my AppClient project:
    init:
    deps-jar:
    init:
    deps-jar:
    compile:
    library-inclusion-in-archive:
    dist:
    compile:
    C:\MyAppClient\build.xml:108: C:\MyAppClient\${file.reference.build-jar} not found.
BUILD FAILED (total time: 1 second)
This is the build.xml file of MyAppClient project:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <project name="MyAppClient" default="default" basedir=".">
<description>Builds, tests, and runs the project MyAppClient.</description>

</project>It seems like the $file.reference.build-jar couldn't be resolved to a correct path portion string. After referring back to the web page, I still could not understand what is causing this error.
So I started googling again using the keyword: file.reference.build-jar. I still could not come up with any relevant results.
Could somebody tell me how this error can be fixed or at least give me some clues what is the possible cause of this error?
    Thanks in advance.

I have forwarded this to another team member. Stay tuned for the response.

  • Problem with constant "Allow application to use ne...

I just bought this phone today (first Nokia phone) and I'm having a pretty irritating issue with the error message: "Allow application to use network and send or receive data?"  This seems to only happen with my Gmail, fring, and eBuddy applications.  My other applications (like Opera Mini for instance) will ask only once when the app first starts or not at all.
After a bit of Googling and searching the forum I found out that I can go to Settings>Application Manager>Installed Apps, then click the program and change settings for Access Point and Network Access.  Only problem is that for the affected programs the only options under Network access are Ask every time and Not allowed.  I've tried closing the open program and trying this, as well as with it open.  I've also tried restarting the phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the phone but neither helped.  I'm a little stumped and this is a big issue for me since I am planning on using those applications pretty heavily so having to constantly select Yes everytime the program accesses the Internet will be annoying.
Thanks in advance for any help.

No, unfortunately.  I did a little more research and apparently the problem is caused by something AT&T did that doesn't allow unsigned apps to change permissions besides the Ask Everytime and Never Allow.  And it looks unlikely that the phone will be able to be unlocked or unbranded to change this since it uses different software or something.
Which makes this phone worthless to me (well that, plus some other niggling issues).  I'm keeping it until my next paycheck, then taking it back and exchanging for another phone that will do what I want.  I'm a little upset at AT&T for crippling this phone like this, and I'm also upset at Nokia for allowing AT&T to cripple the phone so badly.
And scooby, what do you mean by Maps?  I use the Google Maps app as well as the Telenav GPS app and neither one has a problem with receiving data.  I never get prompts from either program.

  • Just Installed Firefox 6.0.2 And I'm Having Many Problems On Some Web Sites When Using Firefox:

-When I click on a picture on some sites it will go to the next page with a large view of the picture and then when I go back one page to do the same with another picture (or even the same picture) nothing happens.
-Videos don't show up or on some sites the videos do show up and work but you can't make them full screen. (YouTube works fine).
-Sometimes I have to click "Reload" to get my saved codes to show up.
-It won't let me log onto some sites unless I right click where it says "sign in" and click "open link in new tab".
-In some Forums the tool bars, smileys, etc. don't work when using Firefox or IE9 and they worked before with IE9.
-Some of my letters when viewed with IE9 are now in some kind of code (maybe html?).
I never had these problems before when using IE9 alone!
Java was updated before I installed Firefox and I installed the Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin right after installing Firefox. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
    Please Help. Thank You

  • Video lag at start and stability problems in Android 4 (ICS) when using Video and StageVideo

I'm experiencing some problems with video playback in a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet, which comes with Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
In Android 3 (Honeycomb) and 2 (Gingerbread and Froyo) video playback worked perfectly and started with no lag, but in Android 4 video takes like a couple of seconds to start, showing nothing during that time.
This problem happens when using either Video and StageVideo objects, but when using StageVideo, there's also another problem: When playing back a second video after having closed the first, even after some minutes, when starting the next video I can see during those couple of seconds a still image of the previous video, in the part where it was stopped. Why?
None of this happened in Android 3 and 2, so I don't think it's something related to my code (and I've reviewed it several times to try and find a solution). This seems to be an Android 4 specific issue with AIR, since I've tried several Android 4 tablets of different brands and all of them show this behaviour. I've tried with AIR 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 beta, and this problem happens in all three.
Also, there are some random stability problems if the app goes to sleep while playing a video. Sometimes, it doesn't wake up properly and freezes, giving you a "force close" Android message. Sometimes it wakes up properly but the video doesn't show or it's paused. All of this in "CPU" mode. In "Direct" mode it seems to work a little better.
BTW, can someone explain what's exactly the new "Direct" mode. I know it's needed for Stage3D, but I don't know why there's that specific mode, when there's GPU mode. Isn't Stage3D supposed to use the device's GPU? Well, Direct mode seems to be "better" than GPU in that filter effects work, whereas GPU mode doesn't support filters, so if you can use Stage3D while using filter effects, that's great.

Yes, it's unfortunately still not fixed. Also, I've looked into the bugbase report I filed:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3205172
And it seems they've CLOSED this bug!
They say that they can't "control the video overlay buffer that is still in the hardware. This really depend on how ICS handle their buffer and external playback".
The only workaround is NOT using StageVideo, but just regular video. But then you can't use hardware acceleration!
Also, there's the crashing bug, which is even more important. Video crashes too often, especially in off-brand tablets, which are becoming very common!

  • Problem with spaces in filenames when using ODI tools

    Hi everyone,
has anyone of you ever encountered the following behaviour:
When using any ODI tool related to file manipulation the tool does not work if the file parameter value contains a blank/space. Example:
    OdiFileDelete "-DIR=c:temp" "-FILE=Test this.txt" "-RECURSE=NO" "-CASESENS=NO" "-NOFILE_ERROR=YES"
In this case an error will occur saying the file does not exist although it exists in the directory.
Has anyone a workaround for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Hauke

    Hi Madha,
    thanks for the prompt answer.
We decided to rename the files to make the tools work. Definitely not always applicable but in our case it's possible. Any hint why the behaviour is designed like this?
    Regards,
    Hauke
