Problem in main vda host: vdadb:sql in maintenance

Hi, I dont find a way to solve this, the installation went without problems or error messages, but still have this problem, is any of this normal?

is all these the "normal" behaviour in the main vda host?
the secondaries show:
root [ ~ ]# cacaoadm status
default instance is ENABLED at system startup.
Smf monitoring process:

and because of this, I think, I cannot connect to the webpage in the
main vda host, but can connect to the secondaries.
is there something I am missing, doing wrong or should be doing in other way?
thanks in avance

That's right. The primary host won't host any other service, unless you execute 'vda-config' a second, which is actually not recommended.
So, no web UI and no 'vdadb:sql' will be activated; if those services are activated by hand, it may cause unexpected results.
ok, then svcadm clear/enable vdadb:sql is a no-no ... got it.
then the cacaoadm status output is correct/fine:
default instance is DISABLED at system startup.
default instance is not running.
Haven't read thoroughly your cloning-related-thread, but it just seems that "something" is devouring memory in your VirtualBox host.

you might want (I invite you) to take a look at the post,
the only difference between then and now is that I finally brought up the openldap

couldnt get to make it work with the win2003 active directory (can be treated in a
separate post if needed)...

  • Two problems in using LKM file to sql

    hi all,
i met two problems during use "LKM file to sql" for loading data from csv file to oracle db. please try to help me, thanks a lot!
    my environment:
    os: win 7
    odi version: 11g
The 1st condition is: in the 10th step of the execute session, a table called ".SNP_CHECK_TAB" which could not be created in oracle will be created!
If i modify it to SNP_CHECK_TABLE, the step will pass...
    why naming table like this?
    create table .SNP_CHECK_TAB
         CATALOG_NAME     VARCHAR2(100 CHAR) NULL ,
         SCHEMA_NAME     VARCHAR2(100 CHAR) NULL ,
         RESOURCE_NAME     VARCHAR2(100 CHAR) NULL,
         FULL_RES_NAME     VARCHAR2(100 CHAR) NULL,
         ERR_TYPE          VARCHAR2(1 CHAR) NULL,
         ERR_MESS          VARCHAR2(250 CHAR) NULL ,
         CHECK_DATE     DATE NULL,
         ORIGIN          VARCHAR2(100 CHAR) NULL,
         CONS_NAME     VARCHAR2(35 CHAR) NULL,
         CONS_TYPE          VARCHAR2(2 CHAR) NULL,
         ERR_COUNT          NUMBER(10) NULL
The 2nd condition is: i want to filter out certain name in the source table and the filter string is "BRE.name!='some_value'".
When I clicked the "Testing query" button, the following error shows:"Error while executing query Invalid format description".
It works well when the source db is oracle, why not file? Is there any format for the filter string in file? I don't think so...
    Jun

    Hi Jun,
Can i contribute a little for ur 2nd problem.
This error is coz, If u are using a filter against a File "data store" u can't test it, only against RDBMS query will be tested at data store level.
Well, for using that filter and make sure its working, drag and drop the source file in the interface (u can get the filter) and make it to execute on STAGING.
    Thanks,

    Hi
Main workcenter is the responsible workcenter in a order and is used as a reporting selection criteria in major reports(IW38/IW39/IW28/IW29/IW68/IW69 etc). From it also the responsible cost center gets derived. Also it gets copied to the Performing workcenter fields of each operations. So why you dont wants it to be used. It can be maintained as master data in technical objects & gets copied to notifications/orders while creation

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:
#From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select ''Add-ons'', or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the ''Tools'' menu and click ''Add-ons''.
#Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the ''Extensions'' button on the left side of the window.
#You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
#To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the ''Remove'' button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
#Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the ''Restart now'' link in the message.

  • MS SQL Server Maintenance

My client has MS SQL database administrators that are highly recommending doing a periodic reindex as they are seeing a high level of fragmentation. I am unable to find any documents on proper MS SQL Server maintenance from Cisco. In the absence of recommendations from "the vendor" (as the DBA puts it) should we apply generally accepted maitenance procedures for MS SQL? Should we set our log files to Autogrow as they are currently set to none?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi,
since MS SQL Server is not used in UCCX anymore, I assume you are talking about Cisco ICM.
It has already a system implemented that periodically checks the size of tables and removes old data according to the schedule.
I don't really see the meaning of index "defragmentation", as data is written sequentially to the historical tables. You can rebuild the index of the configuration tables, if, for instance, agents are added and removed frequently.

                    ^
    2 errors*****************************
The code works when I remove the reference to the variables "username" & "password" in Connection "conn" call & replace them with the actual username & password, but this is not exactly what I was after. I was hoping to make the program responsive to each individual user, not set in code.
I also would like to make the program pause after the call in "main" to "PassDB" to wait for "PassDB" to exit before continuing.
I would also like to make "PassDB" destroy itself after the "OK" button is pressed & the "username" & "password" set.
If that isn't enough for you, I would really like the program to search 2 different database tables, return their values & compare them to be sure that they are the same.
When I try & search 2 different tables, as in:
    ResultSet rec = st.executeQuery(
"SELECT Title, ContactID, First, Last, Dear FROM Contacts "
                        + "WHERE (Title='Mr') ORDER BY ContactID");
                   ResultSet rec2 = st.executeQuery(
"SELECT Subject, ContactID FROM Calls "
+ "WHERE (Subject Is Not Null) ORDER BY ContactID")javac tells me that "ResultSet" is set to null 0
As always, I am extremely appreciative of any assistance you are able to offer.
    Kind regards

  • Problem with getting started with the SQL Developer in oracle 11g

I downloaded the oracle 11g from the oracle site and installed it on my machine. Now i want to write the sql queries and practise them......so i tried this:start\oracle11gHome\ApplicationDevelopment\Sqldeveloper . But I get a messagebox with a browse button asking me to "Enter the full pathname for java.exe"
what is this all about?Do i need to install jave in my host machine?
    how to solve this problem?

    hi
If you are asked to enter the full pathname for java.exe, click Browse and find java.exe. For example, the path might have a name similar to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\bin\java.exe.

  • Problems with datatypes while callling MS-SQL stored procedure

    Hi
We have a stored procedure in MS-SQL server ( Sql Server 2000 ) that we are invoking from XI 3. ( SP18) using a receiver adapter communication channel . One of the parameters of the stored procedure has a decimal data type . In XI design time - in the mapping - to the stored procedure data type - we have specified 'DECIMAL' as the type for attribute of the import parameter of the stored procedure . My source field in the mapping is of type string.
This is resulting in an error on the Adapter Engine - 'Cannot convert datetime to decimal'  ( as seen in RWB ) -
Are we right in specifying DECIMAL as the type in the XI mapping to the type attribute of the stored procedure parameter ?
Any pointers, thoughts shared on this is appreciated. Correct answers will be rewarded.

    Sai and Others
The problem was that - among the big number of stored procedure parameters - that were to be passed from XI to the stored procedure call - we had to disable a few of the fields inbetween - inorder to test the stored procedure call with the main parameters that were to be passed.
This disabling of the selective fields inbetween - messed up the order inbetween the XI stored procedure datatype and the actual stored procedure definition. We learnt a lesson not to disable fields within a stored procedure - now the call to the stored procedure is going through without using any conversion function for the string to decimal - as long as a decimal value keeps appearing at the source field always ( which is the case here )
Thanks for your pointers, thoughts and suggestions...

  • Problems reaching 1 specific host

    Hi,
i have a strange issue reaching my mail/webserver.
Since a few days, I've had connection errors with Apple mail on my IMAP accounts.
Digging into the problem revealed that executing a traceroute to my server
(eros.lunarpages.com) hangs 1 step before reaching it's destination, ONLY WITH MY MAC.
Tracerouting on PCs is completely succesful. My mac gets to some servers of my service provider Lunarpages, but inside their network, it times out at hop nr 14. (see below) PC traceroute reaches eros.lunarpages.com at hop 15.
As a somehow experienced computer user, I have no clue where to start looking.
I hope there's some tips since the mail errors are annoying.
    Cheers,
    Bob

My provider lunarpages told me that the response times of my modem were slow, an I acknowledge that, and that would be the cause of an unstable connection. But with another modem solving that issue, the main problem listed above remains.

Here's the tcpdump, and I do indeed not know how to interpret this stuff.
Since everything is working again, do not spend to much time plowing through the dump, but thanks for the help.

  • Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server

    Hi,
We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
"system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
    the TestDB created.
    2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
    in this file.
    3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
    4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
    file.
    5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

And this the message that showed:
    Problem encountered during metadata detection
It seems incorrect URL Database which would be the correct order to connect to the BD SQL2005
