You may have hit bug 7718709. Here is the description and workaround from the bug report.
If a user creates a dimension with N levels and M attributes where N * M >
31, and if the user selects "Create level attribute columns in views" in AWM> for each of those attributes, then the server will incorrectly calculate
attribute GROUPING IDs for those levels. This can lead in some cases to the
following type of error during dimension build.
XOQ-00703: Error executing OLAP DML command "(GROUPINGID PRODUCT_PARENTREL
INTO
PRODUCT_ATTR_CGID USING PRODUCT_LEVELREL GID : ORA-36979: Property ***GID
dimension status mismatches level dimension status*** can only be set by the
GROUPINGID command.
A partial workaround for this issue is to uncheck "Create level attribute
columns in views" for each attribute until the number N * M (above) goes
below 31.I have seen this happen in other cases, too, but this is the most common one.

  • Error in Maintaining Dimension in AWM

    Hi,
I am building up a workspace with 14 Dimensions. I have mapped the dimensions and Cubes to the source views and am trying to maintain them. When I go to Maintain Dimension, some of the dimensions are giving error:
oracle.AWXML.AWException: Action BUILDDATABASE failed on object APPS.BULR
Caused by: oracle.AWXML.AWException: ***Error Occured in BUILD_DRIVER: In __XML_SEQUENTIAL_LOADER: In __XML_LOAD_HIERS: In __XML_SET_GID_FREL: One or more loops have been detected in relationship BULR!BULR_IND_PARENTREL over BULR!BULR_IND. The 1 items involved are 42537.
Each of these dimensions havs one "Value Based Hierarchy" and one attribute. I have checked the mappings and they are all correct. Any idea what could be causing this error?
    Thanks,
    Anshu

This is a symptom of a problem in your hierarchy. This is not my area, but I believe it is trying to tell you that you have a loop in your hierarchy (A is the parent of B is the parent of A). This will take us a very long time to solve :-).
Look carefully at the relationship named, and trace the parentage of the specified value. You should discover that there is a loop there.

  • Canu00B4t save to server in maintain dimension members

I can´t "Save to server" or "Process dimensions" under "Maintain dimension members" I get follwing errror message:
    "Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC"
It seems to be computer related beacuse I have no problem when I´m using an other computer.
We are using SAP BPC 5.1 SP5

    Hi Daniel,
Which version of Excel are you using ?  We have a few of us that still use Excel 2000 (although not officially supported) and up to SP4 we did not have the issue.  After implementing SP5, we have the same error.  Only ones that don't have the problem are people on Excel 2003...Might be coincidence, but I was under the impression that that was our issue.

  • Maintain Dimension - Very very slow

    Database 11g R2
    awm11.2.0.1.0A
I have build up a Time dimension which has three hierarchies.
    Year-Quarter-Month-Day
    Year-Month-Day
    Year-Week-Day
The base table has each day record from 2000 till 2012 around 4383 records.
The Maintain Dimension takes lots of time to build. How to speed up the process. I have already set the parameters to tune the olap process as defined in the 11gr2 olap users guide. I am using a 2 processor server machine with 8GB SGA.
I expect the dimension buildup to be as quick as possible. How to reduce the time for this Miantain dimension process? Currently the process take around one hour.

What is the source of the dimension load is it view? Try loading with MV or table and see if it helps. If the underlying view is complex AWM takes time to load the dimension but what you mentioned is really strange.

  • Problem in  maintain attributes for position in maintain user attributes

    Hi All ,
I am facing a problem in Maintain User Attributes
I should get only 5 values for any user in attributes dropdown of attributes for position
But for some users I am getting as 10 values
and for some users I am getting it as 20 values ..
    What my doubt is
will it be based on role dependency or anyother one ..
Pls let me know if u have any idea ..
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Hello,
The ability of changing attributes via User settings depends on the role
assigned to the user and whether this role has the appropriate rights to
    change the attributes.
In this regard, check the customizing below:
SRM -> SRM Server -> Cross Application Basic Settings -> Roles ->
Maintain Attribute Access Rights by Role.
Here you define which parameter can be changed depending on the role
    assigned to user in question.

  • SSTemplate.xlt Error during 'Maintain Dimension Member' in BPC Admin

    Hi,
While trying to 'maintain dimension member' in BPC administrator (BPC 7.0 Netweaver version) for a dimension,I get error message that 'C:\...Temp\SSTemplate.xlt' file could not be found.
Due to this I am unable to maintain members for any dimension.
If anyone has faced this issue and resolved it,could you please me out?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rinal

    Dear Rinal Parmar,
I think that the dimension file which you mean is lose from the directory(the directory which you installed the SAP BPC). If you've backup the Appset before, please you find the dimensian file (.xlt) which is lose in the backup directory. After that, you copy paste into the exactly directory (the directory which you installed the SAP BPC). Then, You should process dimension and process application again.
    Thanks,

  • Issue while Maintaining Dimension Members

    Hi Gurus,
I have upgraded my MS Office from 2010 to 2013. Below is the screen shot of my MS office version.
Now issue is I am not able to maintain dimension members. Every time we click on a "Maintain Dimension Members" nothing happens. It was working fine while I had 2010. We are at the latest service pack (BPC MS10.0 SP16).
Not able to figure out what is the issue as I don't get any errors.
    Any Idea?
    Thanks,
    Charly

    Hi Charly / David,
Please review Note 2040480 - Limitation of maintaining dimension member in BPC Administration
    [Workaround]
To avoid this issue, users should close Microsoft Excel before managing the dimension member in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation for Administration client.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Close BPC Admin
    2. Open Windows task manager and end all Excel.exe processes
    3. Open Excel, )standalone) to see if there is a prompt or user action. (usually an error stating that Excel crashed due a plugin/error, Do you want to disable this plugin Yes or No)
    4. Click no the prompt (or yes depending on the message).
    5. Re-open BPC Admin and try to maintain dimension members
    Does that work for you?
I have been successful in using Excel 2013 with BPC 10 to maintain dimension members.
    Thanks,

The error indicates that there are some loops in your hierarchy (e.g: circular loop within same hierarchy) or inconsistencies in the definition of a specific member across hierarchies (e.g: each hierarchy is well defined on its own but one or more members of the dimension, present in multiple hierarchies, are defined inconsistently, in terms of its descendants, across hierarchies).
If you have enabled the create dimension Materialized View option, try disabling it and rebuild/maintain the dimension. The build process for the dimension with "create MV" option enabled enforces stricter data quality checks than if this option is disabled (dimension MV not required/not created/not used for Query Rewrite).

There are posts on the OLAP forum covering this problem. Anthony Waite from the OLAP Product Management team has provided the following information:
e new, default Model View in AWM 10.1.0.4.0 is based upon the OLAP Analytic Workspace API (a.k.a. AW/XML). Just to recap and further clarify my earlier post, you must pass the following requirements in order to use it:
    1) Be sure to be using the Enterprise Edition of the Oracle Database 10g.
    SQL> select banner from v$version where banner like 'Oracle%';
You should see Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition.
    2) Be sure to have the Data Warehouse database configuration or the OLAP Option enabled.
    SQL> select parameter, value from v$option where parameter='OLAP';
    You should see OLAP TRUE.
    3) Be sure that the RDBMS 10.1.0.4 patch set has been completely installed. Users often miss the required Post-Installation Steps such as running catpatch.sql.
    SQL> select comp_name, version, status from dba_registry;
You should see VALID and 10.1.0.4.0 for the OLAP components.
    4) The Oracle Database must have the compatibility mode of 10.1 to use the Model View as it relies on the unique features found in Oracle Database 10g.
    SQL> select name, value, description from v$parameter where name ='compatible';
You should see 10.1, not 9.2 or earlier.
    5) Please refer to the patchnote.htm that is bundled with 10.1.0.4.0 patch set. Only you are aware of what type of database configuration you have. You will want to pay close attention to "7.2.1.3 Set the SHARED_POOL_SIZE and JAVA_POOL_SIZE Initialization Parameters" and "7.2.2 Upgrade the Release 10.1 Database".
Basically, I believe you have missed these required steps after installing the 10.1.0.4.0 patch set from the OUI: (pasted from the patchnote.htm)

  • Structures to populate so DML maintained dimensions are seen

    Hi,
We are running a pilot now. All the dimensino should, eventually, be populated out of Oracle tables, but it's just takes its time, and some of the tables are empty. One can, of course, populate the tables with some 'junk' data, just to check that everything works fine, but then to face all the constraints and not nulls and alike. Much simpler is to pupolate the dimensions directly in OLAP, using the maintain command.
The problem I'm facing is that all the new dimension values I created are seen only through the OLAP worksheet (using the REPORT command), but I cannot see them through the GUI (right click a dimension -> View Data). I tried to populate some other metadata (parentrel, levelrel, GID), but the results are just the same - nothing is shown. It's quite obvious that if I cannot see them in the View Data window, they wouldn't be seen neither in Drake, which is our end users platform.
I would appreciate any help guiding me which structures I should populate to add dimension values using the DML and see them in the GUI.
    TIA,
    Doron

    Hi Malkit,
first of all be carefull with using ruby scripts as they are not supported on iPad app.
If I understand correctly, then you want to assign initial values when quick create is opened. If that is correct, than actually you could simply add necessary values for fields in DataModel view.
    Cheers,
    Uldis

  • Maintain Dimension Data withn the Current Record With Highdata

    Hi,
I have following value in the Product Dimension :
    Product_SK Product_code PROD_PRICE REC_END_DATE
    ========== ============ ========== ============
    1001 P001 12.3 20-JAN-2005
    1002 P001 15.5 15-MAR-2007
    1003 P001 17.0 20-JUL-2009
    1004 P001 25 31-MAR-9999
    1005 P002 20.2 20-FEB-2001
    1006 P002 23.2 20-FEB-2004
    1007 P002 22.5 31-DEC-9999
I want to maintain the dimension table with the only high record end data value(31-DEC-9999). Is there any filtering condition to maintain the Dimension like building the CUBE. During CUBE build there is an option "Filter ". Is there any process to give any filter condition in the Dimension build ?

If you are not using materialized views, then an easy answer is to map the dimension to a view on top of the table. But as it happens you can also apply a filter on a dimension. See the old thread "Dimension Mapping in 11g. Can Where clause be used to filter source table?" for details.

  • Catalog Migration Problem from 10g to 11g

    Hi,
When i am trying to migrate catalog of 10g to 11g. They have some problems
    1. In obiee 10g (under root folder) it shows only around 5 dashboards. But actually when i am seeing in the I catalog manager of obiee 10g it shows 12 dashboards and pages.
Can some please help me on this how to see the other dashboards and page in obiee 10g ( under root folder ).
    2. When i am trying to migrate the catalog folder in obiee 11g it also shows around 5 dashboards. And other dashboards are not seeing after migration.
Can someone please help me on this how to see the other dashboards and pages in obiee 11g as well.

    Hi,
In Webcat, there can be some contents that are inconsistent/invalid. And such contents have 0 byte size. Please check if dashboards files that are not visible and their corresponding .atr files have 0 byte size.
Other possibility can be dashboards are hidden for the user-id you are using for login.
Please mark as helpful/correct if this reply helps.
