Problem in moving the java beans code from computer to other
Hi,
I am working on building a webservice. I started building the EJB teir compnents like (Entity beans, Sessions beans, data base schemas) using the SUN ONE STUDIO 5 and SUN ONE App Server 7.0.
The problem, if I want to move the same entity beans code from one computer to other computer.
I am using same platform except the operating system (XP, and Windows 2000), apart from this every thing is same (Sun one studio 5, sun one app server 7.0). The Entity beans are working on the source computer and tested the beans. But When I moved the code to other computer, I compiled the entity beans code and it compiled perfectly. Then I tested the entity bean, I generated the test client, and deployed it. Till now no problem. When I tried to excute it and invoke the functions then it giving the following error:
Is there any solution, so that I can avoid coding from scrath again when I want to use same on other computer.

There appears to be either a portion that didn't get recompiled, or perhaps a hard-coded GUID-type number within the application. Carefully go over the elements in the application that were hard-coded to run on the other machine -- were they have all been migrated?

Problems to get the correct Ascii code from a char
We need convert each of the chars into a string to a short number, send it to another application and then convert again each short to a char, and so retrieve the original string.
We have tested this piece of code to convert from char to short and again from short to char:
private static BufferedReader stdin = new BufferedReader (new
InputStreamReader(System.in)); private static String user_key;
String texto = "aeiounAEIOUN0123456789" ;
for (int aux=0; aux<texto.length(); aux++)
c = texto.charAt(aux); s = (short)c;
System.out.printin ("char = '" + c + "' short = " + s);
// Each time that the user press a key, we process a new char
// from the String.
try {user_key = stdln.readLine();} catch (lOException io) {}
And when the program process the (ascii 164) and (ascii 165) chars, it does not work right.
The output is:
char='?' short=241
char='D' short=209
Instead, if we read directly from the keyboard, this code works right:
while (true)
try {user_key = stdln.readLine();} catch (lOException io) {}
c = user_key.charAt(0); s = (short)c;
System.out.printin ("char = '" + c + "' short = " + s);
And we get these outputs when we press the (ascii 164) and (ascii 165) keys:
char='?' short=164
char='?' short=165
Please can you say me how can I change the first piece of code to it works right with the 'n' and 'N' chars?
Thanks in advance
Jos?Run your application with "java -Dfile.encoding=CP850 ClassName", or change the encoding on run time to CP850 by using the appropriate constructor of InputStreamReader.
I recommend the first option since the problem doesn't exist outside the DOS console of Microsoft Windows. If you use the second approach your program wont be portable. -
Reports 10g and Firefox 3 - How to load the java bean
Hi,
I have problems configuring Firefox to run Reports.
I have been told that Firefox cannot load the java bean right from the start.
If someone could direct me to documentation on using Firefox and Reports, that would be nice.
Many thanks in advance.
JeanHello,
If you execute your Reports as a JSP page : URL like http://server:port/reports/myreports.jsp?param1=...
the output will be in HTML
If you execute your Reports using the Reports Servlet : URL like hhp://server:port/reports/rwservlet?report=myreports.jsp¶m1=...
the output will be in the format specified by DESFORMAT : (HTML / RTF / PDF / ..)
Supported values for DESFORMAT :
http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/reports/10.1.2/topics/htmlhelp_rwbuild_hs/rwrefex/cmdline/common/bld_desformat.htm

Problem in moving the code from one computer to other
Hi,
I am working on building a webservice.

How to call the method from the java bean and pass it to JSP textbox
i'm quite new to java thats why i'm asking how to call a method in the java bean file and pass it to the JSP textbox. My projects are communicating JSP with C#. i had successfully created a C# client bean file for JSP. The whole process is to type something on the server(C# programming) and it would appear in the textbox.
your question doesn't provide much informartion. provide some other information and coding so that we could tell exactly what you are looking for?

Java Connectivity - No classes appearing in the Java Beans Classes dropdown
Hi,
VERY NEW user to Crystal Reports. I am trying to create a report using a java class as a datasource. I have updated the setting in the CRConfig.xml file, and can get the Java Beans Connectivity screen to appear, but is shows none of my classes in the dropdown. I found a knowlege base entry that indicated this problem was caused by the JavaBeansClassPath value in the CRConfig.xml file being invalid. But I've verified the location and it is pathed directly to the classes.
Not sure what I am missing, but any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!Ted,
Thanks for the reply. I checked out each of your suggestions, but haven't had any luck thus far. Here's what I found:
1. We created a simple method in an existing public class to return a ResultSet. The method looks like this:
public ResultSet GetAllMediaTypesRS()
String strFuncName = "ScsXDMDatabase::GetAllMediaTypesRS : ";
ScsDebug coutDebug = new ScsDebug();
String strSqlStmt;
String strMediaType;
ScsStringList sslReturnList = new ScsStringList();
// Create the SQL to get all the Displayable Media Types.
strSqlStmt =
"SELECT DISTINCT mt.Media_Type_Name "
+ "FROM dbo.Media_Type mt "
+ "WHERE mt.Media_Type_Rqst_Display_Ind = 1 "
+ "ORDER BY mt.Media_Type_Name";
coutDebug.println(strFuncName + "SQL Statement: " + strSqlStmt);
// Run the Query
Statement stmt = null;
ResultSet SQLResult = null;
try
stmt = GetConnection().createStatement();
SQLResult = stmt.executeQuery(strSqlStmt);
} //End of Try
catch (SQLException sqle)
if (sqle.getErrorCode() != 0)
coutDebug.println(
"Error in ExecuteQuery: "
+ "Error code - "
+ sqle.getErrorCode());
coutDebug.println("Message - " + sqle.getMessage());
return SQLResult;
The signature, and the method look fine to us, but maybe we are missing something obvious.
2. We do use JDK 1.5 to compile the classes, but my JavaDir setting in the CRConfig.xml file points to jre1.6.0_02. I assume this is OK.
3. We do see java.exe start up when opening the JavaBeans connection.
4. No firewall issues as we are inside our corporate network.
Any other thoughts or ideas? I did see a knowledge base entry that indicated the cause of this particular problem is that the JavaBeansClassPath in CRConfig.xml is incorrect or invalid. I've validated the path takes me right to the classes, so I believe that is OK. Is there some way that we can see the actual path that is searched when the JavaBeans connection is opened?
Thanks for your help.

Problem in getting the function template object from the repository.
Hi all,
I have created a par file. I have a JCO connection in that. I am facing problems in getting the function template object from the repository. This thing is running successfully when i try to deploy it in Tomcat. But i am facing problems when i try to deploy it in SAP EP 6.0.
Below is statement which is giving error after being deployed to SAP EP6.
This is executing fine when executed in Tomcat Server.
// getting the object of function template
IFunctionTemplate functionTemplate =
aRepository.getFunctionTemplate("YADDNEWUSER");
Note : YADDNEWUSER is the name of the RFC which I am calling from my JAVA Code.
Thanks in advance,
DivijaThis sounds like a bug in the smart upload code. I have used this stuff before, but it's probably an older version, so maybe they broke something. Enumerations aren't usually guaranteed to keep things in any particular order. I would say for now, make a method to take the enumeration and a param name to find the value. And write to the JSPSmart people.

How to read the Java source code (in Netbeans)
I use OS X10.5.5, NetBeans 6.1 and JSE 6 on a 64 bit mac.
When I downloaded NB6.1 it had JSE 5 as it's default (and only) java platform. I ran Software Update to get Java 6 from Apple, used the Java Prefrences utitlity to set JSE6 as default. In NB I added the JDK6 platform, registered the JDK6 javadocs and noticed that I also have the option of registering the Java source code.
I have three questions:
1) How do I make JDK6 the default in NetBeans. The JDK5 keeps being default after I did the steps above and I don't see anywhere to change that.
2) How do I read the Java 6 source code? I can see sun provides [source code| http://download.java.net/jdk6/] for their supported platforms. I dont see Apple doing the same for its JDK port. What would I need to do to get to read the java SE6 sources? or is it actually hiding somewhere in the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home hierarchy?
3) Where does the JVM look for the binary code to run when I make a call to, say java.util.ArrayList or any other library. In my naivety I would have assumed it would be a .class file somewhere in the java Home folder, but I don't see anything like it.
thanks in advance,
chrisThis is taken from the help included with netbeans. In response to question 1.
By default, the IDE uses the version of the Java SE platform (JDK) with which the IDE runs as the default Java platform
for compilation, execution, and debugging. You can view your IDE's JDK version by choosing Help > About and clicking the
Detail tab. The JDK version is listed in the Java field.
You can run the IDE with a different JDK version by starting the IDE with the --jdkhome jdk-home-dir switch on the command line
or in your IDE-HOME/etc/netbeans.conf file. For more information, see IDE Startup Parameters.
In the IDE, you can register multiple Java platforms and attach Javadoc and source code to each platform. For example, if you
want to work with the new features introduced in JDK 5.0, you would either run the IDE on JDK 5.0 or register JDK 5.0 as a
platform and attach the source code and Javadoc to the platform.
In , you can switch the target JDK in the Project Properties dialog box. In , you have to set the target JDK in the Ant script itself,
then specify the source/binary format in the Project Properties dialog box.
To register a new Java platform:
Choose Tools > Java Platforms from the main window.
Click New Platform and select the directory that contains the Java platform. Java platform directories are marked with a
in the file chooser.
Use the Sources and Javadoc tabs to attach Javadoc documentation and source code for debugging to the platform.
Click Close.
To set the default Java platform for a standard project:
Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
In the Project Properties dialog box, select the Libraries node in the left pane.
Choose the desired Java platform in the Java Platform combo box.
Switching the target JDK for a standard project does the following:
Offers the new target JDK's classes for code completion.
If available, displays the target JDK's source code and Javadoc documentation.
Uses the target JDK's executables (javac and java) to compile and execute your application.
Compiles your source code against the target JDK's libraries.
If you want to register additional Java platforms with the IDE, you can do so by clicking the Manage Platforms button.
Then click the Add Platform button and navigate to the desired platform.
To set the target Java platform for a free-form project:
In your Ant script, set the target JDK as desired in the javac, java, and javadoc tasks.
Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
In the Sources panel, set the level of JDK you want your application to be run on in the Source/Binary Format combo box.
When you access Javadoc or source code for JDK classes, the IDE searches the Java platforms registered in the
Java Platform Manager for a platform with a matching version number. If no matching platform is found, the IDE's default platform is used instead.

Make sure that your bean is implementing the serializable interface and that
you are accessing the bean from the session with the same name.

Hi, I have quick question about use of USEBEAN tag in SP2. When I
specify a scope of SESSION for the java bean, it does not keep the
values that I set for variable in the bean persistent.Thanks,Sonny

Problem with mapping the Entity beans onto database tables
Hi,
I got a problem with mapping the Entity beans onto database tables. Here are what I did:
First Step:
asant capture-schema
Second Step:
capture-schema -driver com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver -dburl jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/sun-appserv-samples -username pbPublic -password pbpublic -table APPLICANT -table APPLICANTSKILL -table CUSTOMER -table LOCATION -table job -table JOBSKILL -table SKILL -out build/agency.dbschema
The first step was fine. But, in the second step, I got the error message as follow:
using dburl:jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/sun-appserv-samples
using username:pbPublic
using password:pbpublic
using driver:com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver
using schemaname:null
using output file:build/agency.dbschema

How to run the open script code from eclipse?
Hi,
How to run the open script code from eclipse.
Please let me any soulutions on this.Hi Konda
I am not quite sure you can do that and it would even be not supported... Again, what is the purpose? Why do you want to run your openscript code in Eclipse?
What is the code you try to run?
As an example, even if you include al the jar files and so on. don't think the function "Launch Browser" could work because it isn't only java code orjar files.....
If you give us more background. maybe we can guide you to a better solution...
