Problem in seeing ole object at runtime...

I am using MSR(magnetic stripe reader) component in my OLE container in form in design time. But as soon as i run that form., the component gets disappeared. to work on that same object i.e MSR i have to insert that Component once again. But i want that this component should be activate by default when i run the form. so please any one guide me, how to solve this problem?

Hi Armin,
I need to display a table with 5 rows and 7 columns.
5 of the columns are drop downs from R/3,
My requirement is the table should be in editable mode such that the user is allowed to enter some values(rows). on clicking the save button the table values are to be sent to R/3 table through bapi.
Please help me in resolving this.
Thanks & Regards,
Sai Krishna.

    Hello
    I need insert a WORD document at runtime into Crystal report 2008.
    Is it possible do it this using RAS SDK for .NET?
    Thank you

    Possible, but remember that only the 1st page of the word doc will be added - same as in the CR designer.
    There is a number of sample apps at [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/samples?rid=/webcontent/uuid/80774579-b086-2b10-db91-ed58c4dda375] link. Add image sample may be good to look at.

  • Problem with embedded OLE objects

    I am using Outlook as client.
    I sent mail with Excel table as embeddet object.
    Outlook can after what read and show this mail.
    But if I read this mail with SOAP I get a message body without Excel table.
    I thought it should be in attachment.
    hasAttachments-filed in mail object is true, but attachments-filed is empty (not null!): attachments=AttachmentItemInfo[0].
    I am reading mail with getItemRequest and view = "default attachments attachment message attachments".
    We are using Groupwise 8.0.1 HP1.
    What is hier wrong? How can I read OLE object with SOAP?

    The complete response was not included.
    If you are trying to save an embedded OLE attachment,
    there is no logic to do that on the POA, the attachment
    will be dropped.

  • Report with OLE Object Problem (Crystal Report 11)

    Post Author: ibertola

    Hi all,I'm a new user, and I've got a problem with OLE object. I would like to have a report that show me ONLY one of many OLE (word document) in Crystal structure.I've created 3 section detail, and in each one I've insert OLE object (creating from a file, and LINK).So, if I change one document stored locally, and then refresh the report, the content doesn't change like the linked file! Actually I've got all locally  Please help me.

  • Memory problem if OLE-object references to WMF files

    Hi there,
    I have a report with an OLE object containing WMFs.
    The graphic files are variable and their name is loaded from the database during runtime (path + filename).
    Running the report leads to 185 pages, each one containing a different WMF.
    If I preview the report in CR, everything looks fine.
    If I print the report, the OLE object / graphic is left empty....
    If I export the report to PDF (as an example) I get the error message 'memory full'. Reducing the data set to ~50, the PDF is created. But the pictures get resized (much bigger) and only parts are visible.
    The machine I'm using doesn't have any memory problems.
    The WM files are only 3 to 12 KB each.
    If I convert the WMFs to JPG and use these within the report it works...
    Problem with this: a loss of quality (it is necessary to stretch the pictures to certain size)
    Thanks in advance for any ideas!
    Susanne
    I'm using CR 2008 SP 3 on Windows 2003 Server

    Format the pictures outside of CR for best results.

  • Problem with ole objects

    Hello to all,
    I'm having a problem concerning the use of ole objects.
    I'm using Oracle Forms 6.0.8.16.0 with Oracle Reports 6.0.8.1.7.1 on Windows 2000 with Oracle Database Server 9.2.0.4.0.
    I have several forms with base tables including blob columns which are used to store ole objects. These could be MS-Word-documents or Bitmaps of signatures. When inserting these objects via "create new" and choose the object type, Word or Paintbrush opens and i can create my objects. After committing these changes to the database, these objects are printed in a report correctly. When inserting these objects via "create from file" or using a push button which is executing "initialize_container" with a file and committing to the database, i get an error while executing the report "REP-0082: Error executing SCA utility".
    I want to use a push button to store my ole objects because the "create" dialogue is confusing our users because there is a huge list of all possible ole objects on the client.
    Can anybody help with this ?
    And to the Oracle Team, please don't suggest simply to upgrade to a higher patch level without looking at the problem. First, I tested all patch levels up to 16, with no change. Second, it's not easy to upgrade for an 24x7 application with hundreds of users in different countries with different ways of deployment.
    Regards
    Kai

  • OLE object problem

    I'm trying to make a report with OLE object in CR9 on XP Professional SP3. There is an image file "file_01.bmp". I place it in the report from "Insert"->"OLE Object" and chose "Create from file" with file path (not as icon, as image). But what I get in the report is black square with "file_01.bmp" caption below, and so in the report preview area. Double-clicking on it causes Object Packager warning.
    What should I do to get an image (linked with a disk file) in report?
    Thanks in advance.

    I am having a simular issue as well.  I finally got this to work on my laptop (where I have Crystal XI installed).  I can also access the report from another computer with Crystal Runtime installed and it does update the graphic file as well, however, I cannot get this to work on my desktop computer.  I have temporarily installed Crystal XI on the desktop to test this.  Both Laptop and desktop have windows XP SP3 and most of the same applications installed.  Here is what happens:
    1) When I open the report, I get a message "Some Links could not be updated becasue thier sources are presently unavailable"
    2) If I select the Links button I get a dialog that shows me the .bmp file.
    3) I then select the Open Source button and I get a message "Failed to launch server application"
    4) I open the report again and this time I select the Change Source and a dialog comes up asking me to select the source file.
    5) I then select the source file and I get this message "Invalid Source:Do you want to correct it?"
    6) I then select the Yes button, but nothing happens
    The bmp file was created with Paint and Paint is registered for bmp files.
    Any help on this would be appreciated.

  • How to insert ole object like word doc at runtime

    To insert word doc into crystal report

    Hi Vinod,
    To add an OLE object in reports follow the steps given below-
    1- In CR environment open a Report in which OLE object needs to be added.
    2- Click on insert and click on OLE object.
    3- A wizard pops up - choose appropriate file for e.g- Microsoft World Document.
    4- two buttons will be there-
    a> Create new - creates a new world document.
    b> Create from new - Includes a exsisting file.
    5- one more option is their in wizard -
    Show icon(check box) - shows the OLE object as an icon in report.
    6- Click on ok and place the object at required position in report.
    Hope it works.

  • Disable manipulation of OLE Objects in Previewer

    Hello to all,
    I've developed several reports containing OLE objects stored in tables. These maybe Word Docs, Excel Sheets, images, etc. The OLE objects are displayed in the previewer / printout correctly. But when you doubleclick on an OLE object in the Previewer the OLE server app starts and you can manipulate these objects. When you return to the Previewer these changes can be printed but are not stored in the database (which is alright). Now here is my problem : as these printouts represent electronically signed documents, no change in its contents is allowed. How can i prevent the user form changing these objects ?
    I hope I made my problem clear. Thanks to anyone who can help.
    Regards,
    Kai

    Hi,
    What is your Apex version?
    Is your Apex instance runtime environment or can you login to INTERNAL workspace?
    See this for Apex 4. Document do not say how disable demonstration app creation on runtime environment.

  • Linked OLE Object on a Web Server

    I searched for the answer to this, and haven't found it.  If it's already been answered, and I missed it, I apologize.
    I have a report (several actually) that has a link to a MS Word document.  It was added to the report as an OLE object, type "Document", update "Automatic".  The location of the document is C:\Program Files\Common Files\AppName\BlahBlah.DOC.
    The report is installed in two places.  In one place, C:\Program Files\AppName\ , I have a winforms app that opens and displays it.  The report links dynamically and works like a champ.  Changes to the document appear in the report.
    The report is also installed to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\AppName\Reports.  There's a web app running there that prints the report.  It looks good, except it only shows the snapshot of the original document as it was when the report was created.  Changes to the .DOC are not appearing.
    I'm sure the problem is that the path to the document is in the C:\Program Files\ ...  directory which isn't in the web path of C:\inetpub\wwwroot\AppName.  Normally, a web server can only see the files in it's own directory tree, as that is it's root directory.
    When the document is originally added to the report, it won't let me set the link as "./Reports/BlahBlah.DOC".  That would solve the problem.  But it stores the full path, which isn't available to the web app.
    I'm sure theres something simple that I must do to make this work, but I haven't found a solution yet (perhaps because the answer is too simple).  Thanks in advance.
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn
    Please provide following information:
    1.Version of crystal reports(HELP>>About Crystal reports)
    2.Is crystal reports embedded in any other application
    3.What is your runtime environment(.NET,Java)
    4.Are you programatically modifying report(s).
    FYI -
    1.In crystal reports stand-alone application(XI Release 1,XI Release 2,CR 2008),user is able to insert a .doc and when the 'Link' checkbox is checked (while inserting the doc into the report),the changes are automatically reflected.
    2.As a test,you can create a new report (in any of the versions mentioned above)on Xtreme sample database(using odbc connection and the "Xtreme sample database 11.5" dsn),and insert an OLE object in the report.
    Thanks

  • How do I create multiple objects during runtime?

    I don't know how to create multiple objects during runtime, here's my problem:
    I get a String as input. Then I create an object called newobject. I put the object in a hashtable with the above string as key.
    Then comes the problem, in order to create a new object, I have to rerun the same class, which uses the same name (newobject) to create a 2nd object. Now my hashtable doesn't reference to my 1st object anymore...
    Is there anyway I can fill up the hashtable with different objects, and make each key point to each object it was supposed to?
    For those who want to see a bit of the program:
    public class PlayBalloon{
    public Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    for(){
    Balloon pB = newBalloon;
    newBalloon=new Balloon(pB);
    ht.put("Some input from user", newBalloon);
    for(){
    ht.get(s).draw;<= s=string, draw=own meth. in Balloon
    }

    I think i can see the problem that you are having. You have, in effect, duplicate keys in your hashtable - ie, two strings used as keys with the same name.
    The way that a hashtable works is as follows...
    When you ask for a value that is mapped to a key it will go through the table and return the first occurence it finds of the key you asked for. It does this by using the equals() method of whatever object the key is (in your case it is a String).
    If you cant use different Strings for your keys in your hashtable then i would consider writing an ObjectNameKey class which contains the String value that you are trying to put in the hashtable and an occurrence number/index or something to make it unique. Remember to override the equals method in your ObjectNameKey object or else the hash lookup will not work. For example
    class ObjectNameKey {
        private String name;
        private int occurence;
        public ObjectNameKey(String name, int occ) {
            this.name = name;
            this.occurence = occ;
        public String getName() {
            return name;
        public String getOccur() {
            return occurence;
        public boolean equals(Object o) {
            if (!(o instanceof ObjectNameKey)) {
                return false;
            ObjectNameKey onk = (ObjectNameKey)o;
            if (onk.getName().equals(name) && onk.getOccur() == occurence) return true;
            return false;

    do a check on the wsdl file and how you are passing values in the proxy. The tags for XML are not correct. Open the WSDL in IE and see there must be an error. Or probably when passing the actual values to the XML generated each element is not closed properly. Error says tags dont match.

  • Problem in running animation in forms runtime , can any body help me

    Hi,
    I did a small project using forms 6I . When I run my project the first cansvas named “Welcome Screen” will be displayed. I.e this is the first canvas displayed. Now my problem is : In that “ WelcomeScreen” canvas I placed a OLE object and inserted a Powerpoint presentation file i.e .propic.ppt file. I setted custom animation setting for all object in that presentation slide. Now my requirement is to animate that file with formruntime i.e once I run the project opening canvas should be displayed and all the objects in the OLE i.e. ppt file within runtime. That is menu attached should be displayed as it is and presentation should be animated. After that I go to data entry module by selecting appropriate menu item from the menu. For this problem what I tried is I imported OLE Control from tools menu in formbuilder and make the OLE properties that is path of the ppt file and Activation property is set to “doubleclik” . When I runned my project after these settings, if I double click then it is showing “slide”without animation and my main windows and all other windows disappearing”. When I click end show in slide then it is returning to my formsruntime module. This is not the requirement, all that i want is my runtimewindows should be displayed within which the presenation file must be animated. Is it possible to do so, if so please suggest the way to improve the visual quality of my project.
    Thanks in advance for helping,

  • OLE Objects are not displayed properly-overlap characters and empty page

    I'm using CR4E 12 Runtime libraries to load and view reports that are created in CR designer  v10. Some of the OLE Objects (not all) are not displayed properly.
    1) A full page contains terms and conditions as ole object is not at all displayed and just shown as black image.
    2) Some data in a table (OLE Object) shown as overlapped characters.
    Any body know the reason and is there any workaround to solve this issue?
    Thankyou very much for your time.

    Your problem seems to be with the character encoding you are using for your text.  A quick google search for ColdFusion character encoding should turn up the answer.  In case you are interested in learning more:

  • OLE Object - Unknown Type

    We modified a customer's Crystal Report to contain an OLE Object (a linked PDF) and it was working fine and updating perfectly. Recently the customer was having problems using the report. Looking at the report, once it opens it tries to update the PDF but we get this error "Some links could not be updated because their sources are presently unavailable". With this message we get a links button and when we look at that the PDF is now an unknown type.
       Also now when we try to create a new report and insert an OLE Object like before, first off PDF is not in the Object Type list. and secondly it inserts it from a file as an icon if/if not the check box is checked.
       Does anyone know what could have changed for OLE PDFs not to work anymore for us? Any help would be greatly appreciated in this.

    Hi Scotty,
    Appears the DDE interpreter to handle PDF's has either been altered or AV software is blocking access now.
    What happens if they simply double click on any PDF file?
    Use ProcessMonitor to see what is happening, try running one of the reports and then look in the log for Access Denied errors.
