Problem in transforming xml data to HTML
Hai all,
I am new to J developer, I have generated XML data to transform to HTML.
Below is my xsql file with the name 'simpleqry.xsql'
<?xml version='1.0' ?>
<page xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql" connection="java:comp/env/jdbc/testDS">
<xsql:query max-rows="-1" tag-case="lower" null-indicator="no">SELECT EMPNO,ENAME,SAL FROM EMP WHERE SAL >= 5000</xsql:query>
</page>
it is producing the XML datas
Further I need to convert it into HTML
so I generated xsl stylesheet in under META-INF with the name 'EmpDetails.xsl'
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output encoding="ISO-8859-1" method="text/html" />
<xsl:template match="/page">
<html>
<head>
<title>Employee Results</title>
</head>
<body>
<H2> EMPLOYEE QUERY RESULTS</H2>
<h5><em> Following demonstrates XSQL query</em></h5>
<table border="1" cellspacing="1" align="center">
<tr bgcolor=" #F9F0C1">
<th>EMP ID</th>
<th>EMPLOYEE NAME</th>
<th>SALARY</th>
</tr>
<xsl:for-each select="ROWSET/ROW">
<tr>
<td><xsl:value-of select="EMPNO"/></td>
<td><xsl:value-of select="ENAME"/></td>
<td><xsl:value-of select="SAL"/></td>
</tr>
</xsl:for-each>
</table>
</body>
</html>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
next I have added the following to simpleqry.xsql
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="EmpResults.xsl" ?>
so my simpleqry.xsql file look like this
<?xml version='1.0' ?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Application1\querysql\public_html\WEB-INF\EmpDetails.xsl" ?>
<page xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql" connection="java:comp/env/jdbc/testDS">
<xsql:query max-rows="-1" tag-case="lower" null-indicator="no">SELECT EMPNO,ENAME,SAL FROM EMP WHERE SAL >= 5000</xsql:query>
</page>
when I rerun my simpleqry.xsql file it not generating the output .
My J developer version is 'Oracle IDE 11.1.2.0.38.60.17'
I know I made it lengthy. I made it clear so that you can understand my problem clearly. Please explain me how to solve the above mentioned problem(To generate HTML from XML data)
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Uraja
next I have added the following to simpleqry.xsql
+<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="EmpResults.xsl" ?>+
so my simpleqry.xsql file look like this
+<?xml version='1.0' ?>+
+<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Application1\querysql\public_html\WEB-INF\EmpDetails.xsl" ?>+
What is added is different from what is listed in the XSQL, the xsl is different, the path to xsl is different.
Specify relative path for xsl.

However apparently it was so urgent that you didn't have the time to look at what you posted. They just "fixed" the forum software and apparently it doesn't escape HTML that you type in any more. Or stuff that looks like HTML, either. So your post was unreadable.
If your deadline hasn't passed, try reposting that code surrounded by [pre] and [/pre]. -

Several articles hinted at setting the factory namespace attribute to TRUE. I have tried that but same results. Here is the code :

//factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
//factory.setValidating(true);
try {
File stylesheet = new File(argv[0]);
File datafile = new File(argv[1]);
DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
document = builder.parse(datafile);
// Use a Transformer for output
TransformerFactory tFactory =
TransformerFactory.newInstance();
StreamSource stylesource = new StreamSource(stylesheet);
Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(stylesource);
DOMSource source = new DOMSource(document);
StreamResult result = new StreamResult(System.out);
transformer.transform(source, result);
} catch (TransformerConfigurationException tce) {

Any help would be greatly appreciated.I don't know that this is true, but i think the problem is the classpath.
The runtime has his own parser. This parser is befor your xalan.lib in the classpath and the
parser from the runntime don't support namespace.
Try Tomcat 4.

Hi.
I have a problem this load XML data. For example: file name:
01-05-2008.xml => in this file all data have date=01.05.2008.
Once i load period 01.05.2008 to 10.05.2008 my app load 10 files.
Sometimes some row this greater date stay earlier then row this
smaller date. I don't know why this happend. Bellow part of code.
Please help.
P.S. sorry for my very bad english.Hi Lekser,
ntsii is totally right.
Calling httpservice send is a async operation, which means
you don´t know when the result event of such operation will
return.
You can also sort your grid after a xml data file was loaded.
At least it would guarantee that the entries appear in the
right order.

Transforming XML data into SVG line charts using XSLT

Problem in importing XML Data In Acrobat - X
Hello All,
I have a LiveCycle form where I am embedding a sample XML into it. (No data connection and no binding). After filling the form when the user clicks the submit button before submitting the XML it removes all the nodes of the sample XML that's embedded to it so that the exported data is encapsulated within the field tag/attribute.
We can again import the submitted XML back into the form to do some manual editing.It works fine in Acrobat - 9 Pro. But when I try to import the submitted XML data back into the form in the Acrobat - X it shows the error : "Could not load data from Text file".It does not give any error while importing the sample XML into the form. I am totally confused. What could be the problem here ?
LiveCycle version - ES 8.2
Thanks.

Problem in coverting XML data to Interal Table.
Hello,
I have to write an application which converts an Internal Table Data to XML String and then from XML String to an Internal Table.
The reason for doing is that I am using an RFC Function module and the internal table is dynamically generated one.
But somehow the XML data is not getting converted to Internal Table.
The RFC returns Internal Table Data as XML and the Field Catalogue table
Now in the application which calls RFC, I am trying to convert XML data to a dynamic Internal table
CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT'
CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING'
Now convert XML String to Internal table
Using FMs 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
"Now XString to Binary
CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
CALL FUNCTION 'TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP'
EXPORTING
i_tab_raw_data = lt_xml_data
i_totalsize = lv_file_size
TABLES
i_tab_converted_data = <fst_dyn_table>
EXCEPTIONS
conversion_failed = 1
OTHERS = 2
In the FM 'TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP' I am getting error Conversion failed.
Now I tried with transformations.
Here also my table is a dynamically created Internal table.
TRY.
CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID')
SOURCE root = lt_zmt_tdm_fmap
RESULT XML lv_output_str.
CATCH cx_root INTO gs_rif_ex.
gs_var_text = gs_rif_ex->get_text( ).
MESSAGE gs_var_text TYPE 'I'.
ENDTRY.
Now the lv_output_str gets populated with data
But when I call Transformation again to convert XML to internal table, it does not throw error, but does not return any data also.
TRY.
CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID')
SOURCE XML = lv_output_str
RESULT ref = <fst_dyn_table> .
CATCH cx_root INTO gs_rif_ex.
gs_var_text = gs_rif_ex->get_text( ).
MESSAGE gs_var_text TYPE 'I'.
ENDTRY.
How can this be resolved.
As pointed I am using RFC Function module, the parameters will be
1) XML String with Internal table data
2) Field Catalogue for Internal Table to be created dynamically.

Remove the "=" sign, this code will work :
CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID')
SOURCE XML lv_output_str
RESULT ref = <fst_dyn_table> . -
Problem with a XML Data Server
Hello,
I am facing a problem in defining the data server for an XML File.
This Xml File is well build and I can open it with IE.
In this file I have a namespace define.
I define the url driver as following : jdbc:snps:xml?f=C:/Temp/dossiers_suisse.xml&s=XML_DOS_HAB_S
but I always have the following error message :
java.sql.SQLException: The model generated by the model mapper was not accepted by a validator: Modèle non accepté: Namespace not found:
When I remove the namespace of the xml file the test works well.
I was searching for the driver documentation but I just find few informations on the webhelp.
Maybe there is a parameter to pass to the Driver URL to define the namespace but there is not in the web help.
So if someone know how to do with this sort of file ?
Or if someone know where I can find the real documentation for this driver ?
Thanks in advance...
BMI am able now to test my connexion succesfully after having restart my ODI.
I can reverse my XML file too.
But my datastores are empty except the first datastore genrated which correspond to the first Tag (the one after the root).

Problem creating nested xml data using XSQLServlet
Hi,
This is sort of a sql question.
I'm trying to create a nexted xml data file.
The data in a rows format can be had using the
following query...
SELECT username, portlet_name, count(instance_name) as
INSTANCE_COUNT
FROM portlet_user_subscriptions
GROUP BY username, portlet_name
to get is back in a hierrachical format, I tried the
following...
SELECT distinct(username) as USERNAME,
CURSOR (
SELECT portlet_name, count(instance_name) as
NUM_INSTANCES
FROM portlet_user_subscriptions T2
WHERE T2.username=USERNAME
GROUP BY portlet_name ) AS PORTLETS
FROM portlet_user_subscriptions T1
But, that is running the CURSOE for every username in the
other loop when it should be doing it only for distinct
usernames.
What am I doing wrong here...
cheers,
VijayHow you store the data in the database?
Basically, you can query the database with XSQL(<xsql:query/>)
to get the output in XML. Then you can use XSLT to transform it
to the format you want.
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="doyouxml.xsl" ?>

Problem with extracting Xml data source fields
Post Author: new_crystal
CA Forum: Crystal Reports
Hi,
I am creating a report which has a xml data source.
I have a field named fieldvalue in the xml, I need to present this fieldvalue in a column format based on the name of the column heading which is another field in the database called fielddata
here is what i want
fielddata1 fielddata2 fielddata3 .......
fieldvalue1 fieldvalue2 fieldvalue3......
i have dragged the fieldvalue 3 times in the report and applied different formula for each one of them
here is the eg. of the formula
if ( = "A" ) then
but it is not giving me the correct values pulled from the data source. for the first column it is pulling correctly but for the rest of the columns it is giving values as 0's.
Can anyone help me out in this? It is pretty urgent!

CA Forum: Crystal Reports
I have no idea how to format it in Crystal Reports (i'm new to it too), but if worse comes to worse, you can create an XSLT stylesheet to convert the XML into a format that is easier for Crystal to use.
In case you don't know XSLT is a programming language that is designed to convert one XML format into another. -

then
Create datatemplate and use the xml as datasource.
You can create it using the following sysntax
<dataTemplate name="Employee" description="L" version="1.0">
<dataQuery>
<xml name="xml_emp" expressionPath=".//ROW">
<url method="GET" realm="" username="" password="">
file:///C:/dept_employee.xml</url>
</xml>
<xml name="xml_dept" expressionPath=".//ROW">
<url method="GET" realm="" username="" password="">
file:///C:/dept.xml</url>
</xml>
</dataQuery>
<dataStructure>
<group name="EMP" source="empxml">
<element name="NAME" value="ENAME"/>
your element here
</group>
<group name="DEPT" source="xm_DEPTl">
<element name="DNAME" value="DPTNAME"/>
your element from 2nd xml here
</group>
</dataStructure>
</dataTemplate>
Now your two xml source will become single source for the report.
