Problem inputting a SecretKey object into a KeyStore

i am having some problem storing my secretkey object in a key store, i keep getting the error shown below
cannot resolve symbol - class SecretKeyEntry.
the whole class is shown below. i have tried to import the SecretKeyEntry class but i still get an error. can anybody help.
import java.io.*;
import javax.crypto.*;
import javax.crypto.spec.*;
import java.security.*;
import java.security.KeyStore.*;
//import java.security.KeyStore.SecretKeyEntry;
import java.security.spec.*;
import java.util.*;
public class Encrypt {
public static void main(String args[]) {
File desFile = new File("Saving a text document as an image file.doc");
// Create data to encrypt
Map map = new TreeMap(System.getProperties());
int number = map.size();
try {
// Create Key
KeyGenerator kg = KeyGenerator.getInstance("DES");
SecretKey secretKey = kg.generateKey();
// key store code start
KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance(KeyStore.getDefaultType());
char[] password = {'f','r','a','n','k'};
System.out.println("my password" + password.toString());
ks.load(null, password);
// save my secret key
KeyStore.SecretKeyEntry skEntry = new KeyStore.SecretKeyEntry(mySecretKey);
ks.setEntry("secretKeyAlias", skEntry, password);
//keystore code end
// Create Cipher
Cipher desCipher =
Cipher.getInstance("DES/ECB/PKCS5Padding");
desCipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, secretKey);
// Create stream
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(desFile);
BufferedOutputStream bos = new BufferedOutputStream(fos);
CipherOutputStream cos = new CipherOutputStream(bos,
desCipher);
ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(cos);
// Write objects
oos.writeObject(map);
oos.writeInt(number);
oos.flush();
oos.close();
} catch (NoSuchPaddingException e) {
System.err.println("Padding problem: " + e);
} catch (NoSuchAlgorithmException e) {
System.err.println("Invalid algorithm: " + e);
} catch (InvalidKeyException e) {
System.err.println("Invalid key: " + e);
} catch (KeyStoreException e) {
System.err.println("Problem getting Keystore instance" + e);
} catch (IOException e) {
System.err.println("I/O Problem: " + e);
} catch (Exception e) {
System.err.println("All other exceptions" + e);
} finally {
if (desFile.exists()) {
//desFile.delete();
}

You need to change your setEntry() line to this:ks.setEntry("secretKeyAlias", skEntry, new KeyStore.PasswordProtection(password));You also need to insure that you're running under 1.5 - this API didn't exist before that. If you're picking up a 1.4 JVM/libs, it would explain your compilation error.

    My proxy varaible contains
    My object varaible "obj" contains
    After parsing the result my arraycollection contains, (i mean after converting Object to Array to ArrayCollection) the below information. For information Pl find the attached arraycollection.png image. In the attached image my arraycollection name is "users".
    Here i pasted the code that i used  to convert  "ObjectProxy" to "ArrayCollection"

  • Which utility -  to input XML objects into the Apps through an API

    Hello.
    We are just starting on XML Publisher in 11i10.2. We will need to automate the migration of saving templates into the apps through scripting so that new development can be migrated up our test environments and into production without human intervention.
    Is anyone aware of where we can find information on utility to input XML objects into the Apps through an API?
    Thank you.

    Hi all,
    You can download this document from the following location as long as Tim doesnot publishes it as a Metalink note :-o).
    The URL is:
    http://yuvi.esmartdesign.com/index.htm
    Navigate to the downloads section and check the XML Publisher section under it for the document.
    This document shall be available for a limited amount of time :-o)
    Hope this helps all.
    Thx,
    Nitin

    Problem - I input a new event into my iPhone calendar and it does not update on my iMac or iPad calendars. I have loaded the latest software on all devices and have switched over to iCloud. Suggestions?

    On the iMac open System Prerferences > iCloud
    Deselect the box next to Calendars then reselect then restart the iMac.
    On the iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
    Switch Calendars off then back on then reset the iPad.
    Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Hopefully the event synced over all the devices.

  • Error in IB (When trying to import objects into ESR from SLD or from server

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing an error with the Integration builder recently. When we open Enterprise Services Repository of PI 7.1, we are able to see the GUI with objects perfectly. When we try to import an object into the repository from the server ( In ESR, choose Tools -> Import Design objects -> From Server), we are thrown with an exception...
    Error when exectuting search (QUERY_ERROR)
    & java.lang.NullPointerException
    The server throws the above two exceptions. I have pasted the logs of the error when trying to import an object from the server and also from the sld, below.
    Have any of you experieced the issue? Request you to please check this out and suggest what the problem could be. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rajeev,
    Thanks for your inputs. I myself am a basis guy. I ve already checked all the authorizations given to the user - PISUPER, and have found it to be fine. Can't understand why this security issue crops up still. anyways, i m getting this error when trying to import an object from the server. If i try to create a new object and during the process, try to import the SCV from SLD, i m facing with an error again, of a different sort. The log says...

  • I need to add the values stored in the session object into the html textbox

    Dear Sir,
    i have been trying to create an edit employee details page
    What i have done till now is as follow:
    1. Got employee id from HTML page.
    2. Compared it with the id stored in the database.
    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.
    4. Dispatched the session values to another servlet EditEmpDetails2.java
    what i need to do now
    5. Now i need to set the session values in the text field of the html form
    6. I also need to be able to edit those vales and store the edited values in the database.
    Please help me as i have tried doing it for 1 week without any clues
    i have tried to create a html page which is something like this:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Edit Employee Details Page</title>
    <body BGCOLOR="red" text="black">
    <h1 ><font color="black">Edit Employee Details Page</font></h1>
    <form action = "EditEmpDetails" method="Get">
    <table width="50% align="center"
    <tr><td>Employee ID: </td>
    <td><INPUT TYPE="TEXT" name="employeeid"<br></td></tr>
    <tr><td><center><input type="submit" value="submit"></center></td></tr>
    <tr><td><center><input type="reset" value="reset" ></center></td></tr>
    </table>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    design of my servlet EditEmpDetails.java
    public void EditEmpDetails1 extends HttpServlet
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)throws ServletException, IOException
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    HttpSession session = request.getSession();
    String employeeid;
    String X = request.getParameter("employeeid");
    System.out.println("Employee iD:" + X);
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:murphy");
    String query = "Select * from users where employeeid=?";
    PreparedStatement stat = con.prepareStatement(query);
    System.out.println(stat);
    stat.setString(1,X);
    ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next())
    String Z = rs.getString(password);
    if(Z.equals(X))
    String A = rs.getString(1);
    session.setAttribute("employeeid", A);
    String B = rs.getString(2);
    session.setAttribute("firstname", B);
    String C = rs.getString(3);
    session.setAttribute("lastname", C);
    String D = rs.getString(4);
    session.setAttribute("gender", D);
    String E = rs.getString(5);
    session.setAttribute("dateofbirth", E);
    String F = rs.getString(6);
    session.setAttribute("address", F);
    String G = rs.getString(7);
    session.setAttribute("postalcode", G);
    String H = rs.getString(8);
    session.setAttribute("phone", H);
    String I = rs.getString(9);
    session.setAttribute("mobile", I);
    String J = rs.getString(10);
    String url = "/EditEmpDetao;s.java";
    RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(url)
    dispatcher.forward(request,response);
    catch (Exception e)
    system.out.println(e)
    I do not know how to put the values stored in the session object into the html text box

    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.do you really need to store this in session object?
    5. Now i need to set the session values in the text field of the html form which form? in a new html/jsp page? i suggest go for a JSP
    In your JSP page use JSP expression tags to put the session attributes.
    it's something like : <input type='text' name='employeeid' value='<%= session.getAttribute("employeeid") %>' >and you need to generateanother servlet for saving the details/modifications to the database.
    I think i m clear enough.
    if you need more clarifications. just try it and then post your problem.

  • Passing objects into a class constructor

    I've created a frame for inputting a patient's medical results. There are lots of buttons for temperature, blood pressure, etc. I've created a separate, inner class that creates a NumberPad frame to enter the patient's results. Press the "Temp." button, for example, a NumberPad appears, you enter the temperature, press the "Enter" button on the NumberPad and the number appears in a Label next to the "Temp." button.
    The problem is that I've written the constructor of the NumberPad with a label parameter so that the right label gets updated. e.g.
    class NumberPad extends Frame implements ActionListener
    public NumberPad(Label aLabel)
    However, because I've implemented ActionListener, I've had to override the actionPerformed method and I don't know how to pass the aLabel object that I give to the NumberPad constructor into the actionPerformed method so that, for example
    public actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
    String s = evt.getActionCommand
    if (s.equals("ENTER")
    aLabel.setText(display of numberpad);
    How do I transfer the aLabel object into the actionPerformed method so that the correct label gets updated?

    Store the label as an instance variable.
    class NumberPad extends Frame implements ActionListener {
        private Label aLabel;
        public NumberPad(Label aLabel) {
            this.aLabel = aLabel;
        public actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
            String s = evt.getActionCommand;
            if (s.equals("ENTER") {
                aLabel.setText(display of numberpad);
    }[/code}

  • Convert an Object into a String

    Good day to everyone. I am trying to do a little coding in which a user will input his desired username. I want to check the database if the desired username of the current user is existing, so there'll be no duplication. I'm using JPA for the model and JSF for the controller and view.
    Here's my Model.
    @Entity
    public class WebUser implements Serializable {
        private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
        @Id
        @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
        private Long id;
        private String lastName;
        private String firstName;
        private String middleName;
        private String username;
        private String password;
        public Long getId() {
            return id;
        public void setId(Long id) {
            this.id = id;
        @Override
        public int hashCode() {
            int hash = 0;
            hash += (id != null ? id.hashCode() : 0);
            return hash;
        @Override
        public boolean equals(Object object) {
            // TODO: Warning - this method won't work in the case the id fields are not set
            if (!(object instanceof WebUser)) {
                return false;
            WebUser other = (WebUser) object;
            if ((this.id == null && other.id != null) || (this.id != null && !this.id.equals(other.id))) {
                return false;
            return true;
        @Override
        public String toString() {
            return "web.model.WebUser[id=" + id + "]";
        public String getLastName() {
            return lastName;
        public void setLastName(String lastName) {
            this.lastName = lastName;
        public String getFirstName() {
            return firstName;
        public void setFirstName(String firstName) {
            this.firstName = firstName;
        public String getMiddleName() {
            return middleName;
        public void setMiddleName(String middleName) {
            this.middleName = middleName;
        public String getUsername() {
            return username;
        public void setUsername(String username) {
            this.username = username;
        public String getPassword() {
            return password;
        public void setPassword(String password) {
            this.password = password;
    }The controller and jsp are auto-generated from Netbeans. My question is, how will I convert the 'WebUser' object into a String so I can compare the value from input text to the value in the database?
    Here is my validation method inside WebUserController.java
    public void validateUsername(FacesContext facesContext, UIComponent component, Object value) throws ValidatorException {
            String newUsername = (String) value;
            System.out.println("new user name: " +newUsername);
            System.out.println("component: " +component);
            int webUserSize;
            StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
            //webUsers.toString();
            if ((webUsers == null) || (webUsers != null)) {
                System.out.println("web users null");
                List<WebUser> allWebUsers = getWebUsers();
                webUserSize = allWebUsers.size();
                System.out.println("all web users: " +allWebUsers);
                System.out.println("size " +webUserSize);
                for(int i=1; i<=webUserSize; ++i) {
                    sb.append(allWebUsers);
                    System.out.println("username: " +sb.append(allWebUsers));
            }Honestly I'm new to java and having a hard time with this one. Hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot.
    I know my code is a mess. :(

    Thanks for the help guys! I used the "unique constraint" annotation of JPA and my problem is solved.
    Here's the code:
    @Entity
    @Table(
        name="WebUser",
        uniqueConstraints={@UniqueConstraint(columnNames={"username"})}
    public class WebUser implements Serializable {
        private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
        @Id
        @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
        private Long id;
        private String lastName;
        private String firstName;
        private String middleName;
        private String username;
        private String password;
        public Long getId() {
            return id;
        public void setId(Long id) {
            this.id = id;
        @Override
        public int hashCode() {
            int hash = 0;
            hash += (id != null ? id.hashCode() : 0);
            return hash;
        @Override
        public boolean equals(Object object) {
            // TODO: Warning - this method won't work in the case the id fields are not set
            if (!(object instanceof WebUser)) {
                return false;
            WebUser other = (WebUser) object;
            if ((this.id == null && other.id != null) || (this.id != null && !this.id.equals(other.id))) {
                return false;
            return true;
        @Override
        public String toString() {
            //return "web.model.WebUser[id=" + id + "]";
            return "web.model.User[username=" + username +"]";
        public String getLastName() {
            return lastName;
        public void setLastName(String lastName) {
            this.lastName = lastName;
        public String getFirstName() {
            return firstName;
        public void setFirstName(String firstName) {

  • How can I insert values from table object into a regular table

    I have a table named "ITEM", an object "T_ITEM_OBJ", a table object "ITEM_TBL" and a stored procedure as below.
    CREATE TABLE ITEM
    ITEMID VARCHAR2(10) NOT NULL,
    PRODUCTID VARCHAR2(10) NOT NULL,
    LISTPRICE NUMBER(10,2),
    UNITCOST NUMBER(10,2),
    SUPPLIER INTEGER,
    STATUS VARCHAR2(2),
    ATTR1 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR2 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR3 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR4 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR5 VARCHAR2(80)
    TYPE T_ITEM_OBJ AS OBJECT
    ITEMID VARCHAR2(10),
    PRODUCTID VARCHAR2(10),
    LISTPRICE NUMBER(10,2),
    UNITCOST NUMBER(10,2),
    SUPPLIER INTEGER,
    STATUS VARCHAR2(2),
    ATTR1 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR2 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR3 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR4 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR5 VARCHAR2(80)
    TYPE ITEM_TBL AS TABLE OF T_ITEM_OBJ;
    PROCEDURE InsertItemByObj(p_item_tbl IN ITEM_TBL, p_Count OUT PLS_INTEGER);
    When I pass values from my java code through JDBC to this store procedure, how can I insert values from the "p_item_tbl" table object into ITEM table?
    In the stored procedure, I wrote the code as below but it doesn't work at all even I can see values if I use something like p_item_tbl(1).itemid. How can I fix the problem?
    INSERT INTO ITEM
    ITEMID,
    PRODUCTID,
    LISTPRICE,
    UNITCOST,
    STATUS,
    SUPPLIER,
    ATTR1
    ) SELECT ITEMID, PRODUCTID, LISTPRICE,
    UNITCOST, STATUS, SUPPLIER, ATTR1
    FROM TABLE( CAST(p_item_tbl AS ITEM_TBL) ) it
    WHERE it.ITEMID != NULL;
    COMMIT;
    Also, how can I count the number of objects in the table object p_item_tbl? and how can I use whole-loop or for-loop to retrieve values from the table object?
    Thanks.

    Sigh. I answered this in your other How can I convert table object into table record format?.

  • How to cast an Object into a specific type (Integer/String) at runtime

    Problem:
    How to cast an Object into a specific type (Integer/String) at runtime, where type is not known at compile time.
    Example:
    public class TestCode {
         public static Object func1()
    Integer i = new Integer(10); //or String str = new String("abc");
    Object temp= i; //or Object temp= str;
    return temp;
         public static void func2(Integer param1)
              //Performing some stuff
         public static void main(String args[])
         Object obj = func1();
    //cast obj into Integer at run time
         func2(Integer);
    Description:
    In example, func1() will be called first which will return an object. Returned object refer to an Integer object or an String object. Now at run time, I want to cast this object to the class its referring to (Integer or String).
    For e.g., if returned object is referring to Integer then cast that object into Integer and call func2() by passing Integer object.

    There is only one way to have an object of an unknown type at compile time. That is to create the object's class at runtime using a classloader. Typically a URLClassloader.
    Look into
    Class.ForName(String)

  • How to enter a Private key into a keystore

    Hi,
    We have a propriteary CA, developed by us. I need to use this CA for my Signed Applet. I would enter this CA's public key(a X509 certificate) into my cacerts file.
    Following is what I have done :
    1) I have generated my own keystore, public and private key for signing the applet.
    2) Signed the applet with the private key in the keystore.
    To Do :
    Now, the self generated public key(with which applet was signed) has to be signed by the properitary CA, so that when applet is downloaded my certificate is authenticated by the proprietary CA.
    The problem is :
    1) To get my public key certificate authenticated by the proprietary CA, I need the private key of proprietary CA.(so that I shall sign my public key file by the CA's private key) . The CA could give the private key as a byte array file. ( Or we could write a program to format the private key file, if any format exists and required). jarsigner requires keystore to sign. How could I create a keystore and enter my private key and public key into this keystore?
    2) Is there any other way to do this?
    Please help to resolve this problem.

  • Import of SAP Objects into Integration Repository in XI 3.0

    Hi all,
    I am not able to import SAP objects into the Integration Repository in XI 3.0. This option is under any Software Component  Version. I have selected the radio button "Import of RFC and IDoc interfaces from SAP systems permitted", in the Software  Component Version settings. After the connection data is specified for the SAP system nothing appears under the IDoc, Whereas  the import of RFCs is successfull.
    We also have another installation of SAP XI 3.0, here this option is working properly. Can anyone tell me what is the  problem, is is there something else to be configured inorder to do this.
    Best regards,
    Norway

    Hi Stephan
    Thank you for your answer. We have followed your instructions but did only get half a success. Here is what we have done:
    1) Created "External Definitions" for all related xsd-files with the same name as the xsd-filename and in our own namespace. Our namespace is different from those specified in the xsd-files. We have not change the namespaces in the xsd-files.
    2) Maintained the "source"-field with the name for the xsd-file and not the url as specified in our answer. When we used the filename only we got a value the field "name" in the "External References".
    3) We made a message mapping and imported the "top-level-xsd-element" from the "External Definition". This resulted in only the top level element and nothing else. What we expected was the possibility to drill down through the complete structure.
    What did we doe wrong? Perhaps I could talk you into spending 10 min. and try it your self? This url leads to a zip file with all the related xsd files: http://rep.oio.dk/ubl/xml/schemas/0p71/documentation/resources.html
    Do you know if it will be possible to make references across namespaces in a later version of XI?

    I have similar problem while updating support packages in SAP R/3 4.6C environment.
    000 unsuccessful statement: EXEC SQL: SELECT ID,OBJECT,LANGU,TYP,VERSION FROM DOKIL WHERE (LANGU IN (?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,
    000 dsql_open returned with unexpected error code 1
    000 unsuccessful statement: EXEC SQL: SELECT ID,OBJECT,LANGU,TYP,VERSION FROM DOKIL WHERE (LANGU IN (?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,
    000 dsql_open returned with unexpected error code 1
    Here is an outline of series of events that happened:-
    We are applying in support packages in SAP R/3 4.6C HR Development
    (TFI) environment. We planned with installing all the SP stacks
    starting from 1 to 9.
    -Updated kernel, tp , r3trans and SPAM level to latest level.
    We received the following error in Import_Proper step of Support
    package upgrade. Though the step has been repeated after making sure
    that we have all the required files at OS level, we go this error
    repeatedly.
    Main import
    Transport request___: SAPKB46C52
    System______________: TFI
    tp path : tp
    Version and Release: 305.13.25 46D
    check-sum error in datafile after 9374854 bytes.
    Main import
    End date and time : 20081205192603
    Ended with return code: ===> 16 <===
    When we renamed Co-File & data_file at OS level to see if the files are
    created again and reran we got the following error.
    Main import
    Transport request___: SAPKB46C52
    System______________: TFI
    tp path : tp
    Version and Release: 305.13.24 46D
    Main import
    End date and time : 20081205185117
    Ended with return code: ===> 12 <===
    We tried importing the individual support package SAPKB46C52 from STMS
    and the transport cancelled at an earlier step with the same error.
    Dictionary import
    Transport request___: SAPKB46C52
    System______________: TFI
    tp path : tp
    Version and Release: 305.13.25 46D
    check-sum error in datafile after 9374854 bytes.
    Dictionary import
    End date and time : 20081205195929
    Ended with return code: ===> 16 <===
    While playing around I have deleted the transport from the tp buffer
    and added manually, before doing so I made a backup of tp buffer at OS
    level and I got following error though I reverted back to backed-up
    copy.
    - Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER
    - Reason for error: TP_BUFFER_INCONSISTENCY
    - Return code: 0008
    - Error message: Wrong sequence of Packages in the tp buffer (e.g.
    SAPKB46C52 )
    I then tried to disassemble the package separately and reran the
    import queue. Now I have RC 8 on that support package.
    When I did R3trans -l on the datafile it completed successfully.
    D:\>R3trans -l \usr\sap\trans\data\RB46C52.SAP
    This is R3trans version 6.05 (release 46D - 27.10.08 - 16:32:00).
    R3trans finished (0000).
    I verified the size of file "CSR0120031469_0023301.PAT" and it is the
    same as mentioned in SSP.
    Let us know is there is a workaround.

  • Loading of MIME objects into HTML pages

    Hi Everyone
    I am trying to load two logos as mime objects into an HTML page.
    I am using
    call method web_page->load_mime_object
    After that I use
    call method web_page->show_url
    Whenever I call this last method with parameter in_place as a space (to call an external browser) my logos are not displayed.
    If I call the method with in_place as 'X' the logos appear.
    The mime objects reside in the SAP web repository (trans smw0).
    Any ideas how to pull the logos into the external page?
    Regards
    Johan

    Hi Satya
    Thanks very much for your reply. I do not use ITS for my purposes but it is something to be remembered for next time.
    I have actually solved the problem but only with a "second price" solution.
    In the HTML form I have pointed the source of my two images to a shared folder somewhere on our dev server. For our purpose this will always work.
    What I am thinking is that if SAP allows an external browser to be used it should also give the means of loading the images. Maybe I just don't know how.
    Now that I think about it more - I should go and try your suggestion in any case and see if it works.
    I thank you again and if anyone comes with more ideas they will be as welcome.
    Regards
    Johan
