Problem installing sun application server 8.2

Hi,
I couldn't still install the 8.2 version.
However I'm trying to install it in Java 1.5.0._05 updated version?
Is there a specific version of Java which is causing the problem?

I get this error, however I deleted the folder c:\sun/AppServer before doing the installation.
Can anyone please help
The version is Java Sun App Server 8.2 version!
Should i delete the file productregistry in the windows32 folder?
Regards,
Manisha

I resolved the problem, the main reason was their was appserv-rt.jar file in the Java lib folder, once this was taken out, it worked perfectly.

    Hi,
    Java ES 2005 Q1 is not supported on Windows 2003.
    Please use Java ES 2005 Q4 release.
    If you still encounter problems, please provide the following details
    - What type of configuration did you choose?
    - Was there a Summary.txt file created where you installed Java ES?
    (need to see contents of that)
    - JDK1.5.04 is required so it is correct behavior that installer is placing that on your disk - further installation will not do this.

  • JMS problem with Sun Application Server 8.2

    Hi!
    I've just started trying JMS and found a problem.
    I set a connection factory called "QueueConnectionFactory" in the Sun Application Server Admin Consol.
    After this I test this code:
    import javax.jms.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    public class Sun_JNDI
    public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception
    Context jndiContext = null;
    System.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial","com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory" );
    System.setProperty("java.naming.factory.url.pkgs","=com.sun.enterprise.naming");
    System.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url","localhost:1024");
    jndiContext = new InitialContext();
    Object O = jndiContext.lookup("QueueConnectionFactory");
    System.out.println(jndiContext);
    in result I got this long Exception message:

    So I tested this code under Netbeans5 and I don't where to find jar file contains the class: com.sun.messaging.jms.ra.ResourceAdapter
    Other time I tryied to lookup this URL: "java:comp/env/jms/QueueConnectionFactory"
    The result was: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException
    I know it is a small code example but if I'm not able to solve this problem I can't go on with JMS.
    I would be glad by any help.

    Hello
    In my code it looks like that:
    1: System.setProperty("com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory", "iiop://localhost:3700");
    2: Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    3: TopicConnectionFactory factory = (TopicConnectionFactory)ctx.lookup("jms/DailyDestinationFactory");
    4: TopicConnection connection = factory.createTopicConnection();
    5: TopicSession session = connection.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    6: Topic topic = (Topic)ctx.lookup("jms/DailyBean");
    7: TopicPublisher pub = session.createPublisher(topic);
    8: TextMessage msg = session.createTextMessage();
    9: msg.setText("NewMessage");
    10: pub.send(msg);
    and it work with Sun App Server 8.2.

  • Can't print under Tomcat but no problem under sun application server 8!

    Hi,
    I am rather puzzle by the fact that a programme written by me using all the print api and printable implementation when being called by the JSF page is capable of being successfullly print out when being deployed under sun application server 8 but got hang or met with no response when the same war file generated by the JSC 2 is being deployed onto Tomcat 5.17 .
    Was it due to some missing jar file or api , I really have no idea at all
    Any suggestion please ?
    Thank

    Hi,
    I got rather stupid question to ask regarding the font size.
    if I got a font size of 10, I know it is only refering to the height in pixel , my problem start when I need to know , how many characters can I print across in a A4 size paper. The pixel point is 1/72 of an inch, it is vertical .
    Is there any formula that I can use to determine how many characters per inch that particular font is supposed to print?
    Suggestion that I received is to use trial and error method.
    Thank

    If you have any firewall software running, turn it off and then try starting the server again. If that works, you'll have to allow the server to bind to the ports specified in <INSTALL>/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml in your firewall.

  • Cannot install Sun Application Server with JSC 2

    Hello :)
    I have been installed JSC 2 update 1 for first time, 2 month ago, but I got a problem so I have to reinstall the JSC 2. I did uninstall and then delete the JSC 2 directory and directory under my Document and Setting/user1/Creator21/
    But when I reinstall the JSC 2, I couldnt get Sun App Server to be installed. I tried it 3 times already but I got the same problem, still couldnt install JSC 2.
    (Installation was success ,... not error message during installation). I thought it has problem with the registry, so please tell me how to fix this problem.
    Thank You !

    Sorry, the reply is not related to your query,
    but you could try the latest netbeans 5.5 and use the visual web pack plugin..

  • Problem installing Sun Java Web Server

    Hi
    I'm trying to install Sun Identity Server which need Sun Java Web Server...
    I try to install identity server and web server using Sun Java Enterprise System Install Wizard...
    When I came to page Identity Server:Sun Java System Web Server (3 of 6 ) and I entered Hostname, dir1.usmnet, I get an error pop-up window stating Host Name is not valid......but if I typed dir1.domain.com the error message didn' t appear.....
    I'm using Solaris 9 on Intel platform. I have setup my network and able to ping to other valid hostname in my LAN....
    FYI my network information are as follows
    /etc/hosts
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    <my ip > dir dir.usmnet loghost
    /etc/hostname.elxl0
    dir1
    /etc/resolv.conf
    domain usmnet
    nameserver <dns server ip>
    search usmnet
    I have also setup /etc/netmasks and /etc/defaultrouter
    When I type the domainname command, nothing appeared
    What when wrong, I could ping to my dns server and to other computer in this LAN, could anybody give a suggestion ?

    OK, found the solution by myself.
    The Administrator's Guide mentiones the possibility to install a certificate with the wadm CLI, so I tried that:
    wadm> install-cert -v --config=www -y server -n Server-Cert /www.crt
    Please enter token-pin>
    ADMIN4086: The Certificate could not be installedThe CLI Reference Manual says for the command install-cert, option --replace*:
    "Note – --replace option of install-cert CLI is deprecated
    and currently using this option may not work as expected.
    For replacing a CA-signed certificate, users should delete the
    cert using delete-cert CLI and then install the new one
    using install-cert CLI."
    wadm> install-cert -v --config=www -y server -n Server-Cert --replace /www.crt
    Please enter token-pin>
    ADMIN4112: No Private key foundOK, so maybe if I had installed the first certificate (before generating the new CSR) that would have worked, I don't know.
    Deleting the old cert doesn't work at once:
    wadm> delete-cert -v --config=www Server-Cert
    Please enter token-pin>
    ADMIN4139: Certificate Server-Cert is being referred to by listeners: http-listener-2So before deleting you have to remove the certificate from the listener. Then:
    wadm> delete-cert -v --config=www Server-Cert
    Please enter token-pin>
    CLI201 Command 'delete-cert' ran successfully
    wadm> install-cert -v --config=www -y server -n Server-Cert /www.crt
    Please enter token-pin>
    CLI201 Command 'install-cert' ran successfullyAfter re-adding the certificate to the ssl listener and deploying all the changes to the servers
    everything is fine.

  • No response from Sun Application Server PE 8.2

    Hi all,
    I am using Sun Application Server PE 8.2 on windows XP service pack 2 professional edition, and jdk 1.4.1_01.
    The problem I am facing is that the server is not responding, even though it is listening at the respective ports(4848 for admin, 8080 for http..etc) as I can see 'netstat' command.
    I have checked the server logs and it shows the following output :-
    [#|2006-08-23T13:38:13.890+0530|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.2|javax.enterprise.tools.launcher|_ThreadID=10;|LAUNCHER005:Spaces in your PATH have been detected. The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

  • JBoss 4 to Sun Application Server...where to start

    Hi there...
    I'm charged with making sure my company's product, which has mostly been running on JBoss, works w/ Sun Application Server.
    I've been trying to use the Migration Tool with poor results...I know some of it is because it's for JBoss 3 and not 4....
    giving it the entire .EAR for our product tells me that it doesn't handle webservices...diving into the EAR's JAR containing our services and removing webservices.xml gives the same result of various permutations of putting in source code / xml leads , namely it runs and then freezes with
    DefaultValidationEventHandler: [FATAL_ERROR]: Premature end of file.
    Location:
    DefaultValidationEventHandler: [ERROR]: Unexpected element {}:ejb-local-ref
    Location:
    back on the console I launched the UI from
    To possibly oversimplify, I copied out some of the most relevant .xml we have,
    ejb-jar.xml
    jboss.xml
    jbosscmp-jdbc.xml
    jboss-web.xml
    web.xml
    and put them in a single directory...now the Migration tool runs, leaves most of the files unchanged, and for our ejb-jar.xml it fails, and says
    Unknown error.
    EjbJar is Null
    Admittedly our ejb-jar.xml is handcrafted and maybe suspect, but still.
    So I guess right now I'm not too optimistic about this tool.
    Some of the problem is my understanding of what all goes in an EAR in terms of DD is weak. I'm trying to smarten up, but haven't found a good description of "these are the typical DD files for Sun Application Server", with examples or precise descriptions of the contents...and the migration tool doesn't get to the point where it's making some of the files i expected based on
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/tools/migration/doc/JBOSS3.0_S1AS7.html
    (for example sun-cmp-mappings.xml doesn't appear anywhere in the AppServer\docs directory... )
    Any pointers or advice appreciated...

    There is an article, while it is for Application Server 7, it still could be useful:
