Hi,
Please check if file allocation size is 4k for boot/system partition. Windows basically does not support non-default file allocation size for boot/system partition.
For more detailed information, please refer to the thread below:
Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information

  • Install windows 2008 server r2 as a vm on windows 8.1 pro

I am trying to install windows 2008 server r2 as a vm on an asus I7 4th gen. on windows 8 pro. It goes
thru the install untill completing install and gives error the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unxpexted error windows installation cannot proceed click ok to restart. I do the shift f10 and change the registery to force finsh the install.
It boots up but when I try to do anything. It goes into  netio.sys BSOD issue

I haven't run into that problem, but when setting up the OS, just
remove the NIC from the settings, do the install, make sure it's running, then install the integration
services, reboot, then add the NIC back in.
You could also use a legacy network adapter if that doesn't work.
In any case I'm trying an install of Win2008R2 right now so I can see if I get the same problem...

  • Having problems installing Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro w/Boot Camp

Having a problem installing Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit) on my Macbook Pro (mid-2010) 13". I use the Boot Camp Assistant, download the necessary drivers and burn them to a disc. I insert my legit Windows 7 install disc, and the process begins but once I get to 'Completing installation', my mac freezes and I have to restart it and delete the partition. This has happened twice. I have contacted Apple and Microsoft and neither of them said that they could help me with the problem so if someone has had a similar issue and found a solution to it, I would really appreciate the help.

    Hi S,
You may want to post in the Boot Camp forum where more of those experts hang out:  https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

I think you need to fix your links, you seem to have maybe copied the post from another board / forum, the link style you have inserted doesn't work here.

  • Problems installing windows 8 on a mac

    Hi to all,
I am having problems installing windows 8 on my late 2010 mac book pro. I have created the boot camp partition on the hard drive and have begun the windows 8 install. I have reached the point of where you need to restart the mac and have tried to restart only to find that I can't, so I have pressed the power off button to switch off. Then I press power on and have come to the black screen with the writing no bootable device detected, insert a disc then press any key. I have tried this but nothing happens, I have tried the mac osx disc, and still nothing happens. How do I reboot my mac, anyone????.
    Cheers

    Thanks bob,
I have read elsewhere on the Internet that windows 8 is supported on bootcamp and that it works.
Sometimes yes, often no, but it is unsupported officially so you'll have to live with it.

  • Problems installing Windows 7 on new iMac?

I've heard from users on other forums that there are some problems installing Windows 7 on the new iMacs, mainly that the display goes blank partway through installation due to some kind of driver issue. Can anyone confirm this or elaborate? I've heard there is a workaround but it sounds a bit complicated and I'm wondering if I should just wait until Apple patches Boot Camp with full Win7 support.

I would wait until Apple updates Boot Camp to officially support Windows 7.

  • Problems installing windows on new retina macbook pro

Hi i am having problems installing windows on the latest retina macbook pro, I end up getting an error , cant install windows on this GPT partition style. I have tried booting into windows , and EFI, but it all ends up with the same error. Please HELP.

Did you use Boot Camp Assistant to partition the drive? If you want both Windows and Mac OS X on your Mac that is what you have to do.
If you only want Windows then you can install it by itself but you have to delete all partitions on the drive and format it NTSF from inside the Windows installer or a third party Disk Management/Partitioning/Formatting program.

  • Problems installing Windows 7 with boot camp, cant find the cd/dvd driver...

I´m having some problems installing Windows 7 on my new 12,1 (21,5) iMac with boot camp. When the computer restarts and the Windows 7 setup begins, i get the message that the cd/dvd driver cant be found, so i can't continue the installation. I've tried searching online for the driver, but can't find it. The cd/dvd seems to be a OPTIARC cd/dvd ad-5690h, which seems to be produced by Sony. I have a authentic windows 7. I even tried loading everything ver to a usb-drive, but then it wont boot.

After reading around on this, and other forums I tried to burn a new dvd at reduced speed(2x), but that did'nt work either... I have an authentic windows 7 iso, downloaded with serial, is there any way to boot this from a jump drive or external hdd?

  • Problems installing Windows XP on at K7N2G-ILSR

    Hi,
I am having problems installing Windows XP on at K7N2G-ILSR.
    Config.
    K7N2G-ILSR
With 2 120 GB Western Digital WD1200JB drives
    Liteon CDRW and Toshiba DVD
    Memory ME-512MB-PC2700 DIM/DDR333/512MB/PC2700
Bios settings are all set to default. And at 4/2003 version
The WD drives are plugged into IDE1 with one as Master and the other Slave. The CD & DVD on the IDE2 with the CDRW as master and the DVD as Slave.
Boot to Dos the Drives are seen with no problem
Try doing a clean install and the System always hangs after initial driver load and Hangs when Blue Screen states "Setup is installing Windows"
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

Have you tried changing the APIC function in BIOS. Either disable it or set it to MPS 1.1 see if that helps.
Also make sure your FSB is 100MHz and make sure your jumpers on the mobo are correctly set up. There are a lot of installation issues relating to FSB and win XP.
And finally make sure your memory is fully compatible with nForce boards. The default answer to everyone's nForce platform problems.

  • Installing Windows 2008 Server on Intel Raid (MEGAIDE)

I am facing the intolerable issue of trying to install Windows 2008 Server on a machine that has 2 drives configured for mirroring using the Intel RAID settings in the bios.  (MEGAIDE)
In Windows 2003 you faced the dubious task of having to do the F6 to install the 3rd party RAID drivers.
In Windwos 2008 Server, you are able to load the drivers on a memory stick and browse the drivers.
I downloaded the drivers for Windows 2003 Server since there are no drivers posted for 2008 from the Intel website.
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2162&OSFullName=Windows+Server*+2003+Enterprise+x64+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=111&submit=Go%21
The installer recognized them when I browsed the media, but they did not load.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi All

  • How to install windows server 2008r2 on proliant microserver with 8gb storage?

I've just purchased two HP Proliant N40 Microservers and am trying to install Windows 2008 Server R2 on them.  They come with a single hard drive of just 250GB capacity so on one server I have used the two supplied drives to create a RAID1 array of 250GB and Windows installed fine.
On the second I have installed four WB Green 2TB drives and have configured them as RAID10 for the best performance and resilience. So I have a single disk showing to Windows of 4GB after the RAID array is built.
But Windows gets so far before failing saying it can't proceed (and giving no clue as to why). Googling the issue it seems that there is an issue with installing Windows on a drive with > 2TB.  HP themselves talk about the use of RAID drivers for Windows here: http://h20584.www2.hp.com/hpgt/guides/select?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=4248009&lan... but the link is useless because the link it gives for downloading the driveres just displays a "Not authorised" screen.
I just want a simple way to install Windows 2008 using a secure, performant reliable set of discs.  RAID10 gives me that but Windows won't install.  It seems my only option is to format two RAID1 arrays to overcome this silly limitation.
Am I right?  Or is there a way to configure the four disks as a RAID10 array that Windows can be installed on?
    Thanks for any advice,
    Ian

Update, install continues when drives are set to IDE...so it fails using RAID (1 or 10).

  • Problems installing Windows XP SP2 on a 2008 Mac Pro

I have been trying to install Windows XP with Boot camp on my new Mac Pro. I have created a partition and have formated it NTFS with the XP disk. Once XP gets to the point where it says how long installation will take it blue screens and says to check new devices. I have tried it twice now and no luck. I am wondering if maybe there is a hardware incompattiblity with the new Mac Pros. I have searched the forums and can't seem to find anyone with the same problem.

    Welcome to the Apple forums.
I have a late model 2007 Santa Rosa MBP (17") running Vista Ultimate, 64-bit. I don't think much has changed in the 2008 model.
It's a remote possibility that there are some hardware issues, and there are not many new machines out there yet.
As noted, unplug all extraneous hardware, external drives, even your internet connection if you are using an RJ-45 and see what happens.
You don't say which flavor Winders you are trying to install.
Also you might check into the BootCamp forum where you might find a larger group of users running Winders than here, which is primarily pure Leopard.
Here's the address to the BootCamp forum. For some reason only the beta BC forum is listed, but here is the real address:
    Good Luck.
