Problem integrating Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7 with MDBs
All:
I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
Background:
- We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
- I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage(Message) method
performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
Problem:
The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set them up to query
against a Pointbase database and deploy to Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But
this was only a test to see if everything would work.
I now need to query against an Oracle database. I got the updated version of the
Oracle Thin Driver and put it in the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I
even added it to the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.
But am still having problems.
To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the user, password, URL,
and driver settings in a java file using JDBC connections - and they worked fine.
They just aren't working when integrated into Weblogic.
The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with Oracle 9i. The software
integrated fine when tables from a Pointbase database were queried. The only changes
made have been to make the connectivity to Oracle.
My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows if this is a
known problem or what the problem is please let me know.
Just FYI my settings are as follows:
Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.6.10:1521:proType1
user=protype1
password=protype1
Any advice is welcomed! I've tried everything I can think of.

Hi Angela
you can try the following parameters in the FileRealm.properties to set
acl.reserve.weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.<connectionPool>=everyone

Thanks, I set the initial pool count to 2 and have up to 10
connections (for this testing). Unfortunately it hasn't helped
any.
The error that I am getting is an SQLException:
Exception = Access not allowed
But when I ran the java utils.dbping it makes the connection
with the connection and driver parameters I enter in the console.
I'm still open to ideas on this! :)
Thanks,

Integrating Oracle Portal and Siebel with OAM
Sorry for the prob. straightforward question (just getting my feet wet with OAM)
We would like to configure Oracle Portal so that when users login into Portal and click on the link to launch Siebel they are not prompted with a password again.
We have the integration to OAM working for both Portal and Siebel seperatly, but we launch Siebel from within Portal we are then prompted for a password again.
Can someone please point me in the direction of how to configure OAM so that Siebel will reconize the portal cookie and not prompt for a password again.
Thanks
KarlPlease Install IIS WebGate at Siebel Server. Enable the WebGate by logging to Control Panel-> Administrative Console--> ISPAI Filters--> Add the WebGate Location.
Check the webgate status by below URL
http://<FQDN>/access/oblix/apps/webgate/bin/webgate.dll?progid=1

Hi. Show me your pool definition, and the standalone code that makes a good
JDBC connection with the driver you want to use. I assume you've
verified that the driver you want to use comes before any weblogic
stuff in the classpath for the server.
It seems the pool was configured with zero initial capacity, and is being
asked to create connections at runtime. I would make the pool make all it's
connections at startup. This is faster and more stable, and will also narow
the problem down to the pool not booting until we get the JDBC connections
made.

Steps to UTF-8 Encoding with Oracle 8i and Weblogic 6.1SP1
What are the Steps to UTF-8 Encoding with Oracle 8i and Weblogic
6.1SP1?
I have:
- Oracle 8.1.5 database created with character set=UTF8 and national
character set=UTF8
- Weblogic 6.1SP1 without any encoding mechanism set
(though I did play with
<jsp-param><param-name>encoding</param-name>
<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</jsp-param>
in the weblogic.xml for a while though it seemed not to make a
difference)
- JSP pages set to content='text/html; charset=UTF-8'
- JSP form POSTs set to enctype="UTF-8"
I can copy and paste Chinese Kanji from a UTF8 encoded web page into
form text boxes but when I post the data it comes back as different
Kanji. Then once it is posted the Kanji stays the same on repeated
posts. The same Kanji text also looks different when viewed in a form
text box than when viewed as straight text on the page.
Is there anything else? Or am I already encoding characters twice?
Please help!

Ever wondered how to integrate Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud with Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS) ?
The blog outlines how to programmatically load Sales Cloud data into BICS, making it readily available to model and display on BICS dashboards.
http://www.ateam-oracle.com/integrating-oracle-fusion-sales-cloud-with-oracle-business-intelligence-cloud-service-bics/I wouldn't try installing Oracle VM itself on an EC2 instance, as EC2 is essentially Xen itself. Rather, you should just be able to transport existing Oracle VM images to the EC2 cloud. I think this is what you mean, but your opening paragraph is slightly ambiguous. :)
From a VPN perspective, I'd use OpenVPN as it has clients for all major operating systems (Windows, MacOS X, Linux) that are fairly easy to package and install. Packages for OpenVPN exist in EPEL so it's easy to install on OEL5. You could also consider using a firewall instead of a VPN and only allowing connectivity from specific IP addresses/ranges. This has the benefit of not requiring client software, but it does require a fixed IP address/range on the client-side. -
This blog post provides a suggested methodology for helping users of VMware vROps/vCOps decide which of the existing solutions, the vROps Management Pack for Oracle EM and the VMware vROps Hyperic Plugins for Oracle, should be used to monitor their Oracle workloads.
It’s been a nearly a year since VMware transferred the vCOps Adapter for Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to Blue Medora and since that transfer Blue Medora has released a number of major updates as well as rebranded it the Blue Medora vROps Management Pack for Oracle EM. Over that same period of time VMware has continued to evolve their Oracle-focused (Oracle Database and WebLogic J2EE) Hyperic agent-based plugins culminating most recently with a October 2014 update to the Oracle Database plugin that provides support for Oracle Database 12c.

Integrating Oracle EBS and ApEx Aplication with Responsibilities and SSO.
Good day all.
I am looking forward from getting somebody 's help, the trouble I am facing is described below:
a) I am currently working on SSO with EBS. I mean, my users can connect and work perfectly.
b) ApEx is Configured as Application Partner with SSO, and the application we built (it's call PR-Auto)
is working good under SSO platform. I mean I am able to login using TEST user and password TEST in
both applications (EBS and PR-Auto).
c) The thing is that I need to call PR-Auto from one responsibility in EBS;
Following my setup for the responsibility:
- I have created a function:
Name: APEX_FA_PR
Properties:
Function type: SSWA plsql
Web HTML :apps.apex_launcher.launch_fa_pr
Web Host agent: pls/apex
- I have created a menu, application and responsibility using the function APEX_FA_PR.
- I have create launcher package:
create or replace package apex_launcher is
procedure launch_fa_pr;
end apex_launcher;
create or replace package body apex_launcher as
procedure launch_fa_pr as
begin
/** 110 Is ID of PR-Auto, my app **/
/** 5 is my home page **/
f(p=>'110:5');
end;
end apex_launcher;
d) New responsibility shows on EBS menu page.
e) Click on responsibility, and the page shows 'redirecting to login server for authentication', but
nothing happens, page goes blank with this url:

I am doing custom authencitaion and calling apex_authorise function there.
Although I am able to Call the ApEX and able to validate application server password,but moment i try taking help off cookies
to pass on my application session details to ApEX so that users would not have to login twice,i am gettign the error.
Second question:
Do we have any other methos of passing session to ApEX from Application server other than cookies.
Please suggest.

You can find the name of the standalone reports server in $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/ReportsServerComponent.
Or you can use Fusion Middleware Control Console, normally at http://<machine name>:7001/em -

I make a new Empty Project like J2EE13. After create a new JSP (Web tier -> JSP).
I chose j2ee version 1.3. So I put some jsp code inside, like
<body>
<%
out.write("Teste J2EE 1.3");
%></body>
After I create a new Deployment Profiles WAR File.
Make a build, a .war file and .ear and everythink worked.
So I make a J2EE Deplyment Descriptor Wizard with version 1.3
And make rebuil project.
JDev don't finish the rebuild. The thread dump with CRTL+BREAK :

But I am unable to get wls version 10.3.2.
For better understanding I am listing my installers :

Using Resin and Weblogic with Apache
Hi,
Does anybody know if i can use Weblogic to serve JSP and Resin to
serve some servlets within Apache?
Let me explain the case:
We are testing to setup Weblogic with Apache as the webserver.
Weblogic will be used to serve the JSP pages so i configured the
httpd.conf as follows:
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
MatchExpression *.jsp
WebLogicHost localhost
WebLogicPort [port]
</IfModule>
This works fine and i can serve the jsp-pages without any problems.
Since we work with thirdparty software we need to use Resin too. This
is not much trouble to implement in Apache and i can make sure that
some servlets are handled by caucho instead of Weblogic:
<Location /servlet/Inventory>
SetHandler caucho-request
</Location>
The above request works fine too!
However i have to load the resin.conf file for full use of Resin in
Apache. This setting however implicates that JSP pages aren't served
by Weblogic anymore but are sent to Resin also. Even with the
MatchExpression setting in httpd.conf, Apache still thinks JSP needs
to be sent to Resin instead of Weblogic.
Is there some way i can make sure that the JSP pages are served by
Weblogic and not by Resin???
Thanx in advanceHi all,
Well, i figured it all out and if anyone would like to give it a try
to, just do the following.
The mod_caucho.so file was compiled with the option to handle .jsp
files. I hashed out the following line in
/src/c/plugin/common/config.c:
cse_add_locatio ..... jsp etc.
And then i configure the mod_caucho.so with:
./configure --with-apxs=/apps/apache/bin/apxs
Now i have a perfect mod_caucho.so file which does not handle .jsp.
All calls with .jsp are processed by weblogic, just as i wanted!
Have fun with it (i shall :-)

Integrating oracle purchasing and oracle sourcing
Hi all,
is oracle sourcing fully integrated with oracle purchasing EBS?
can i create in PO a RFQ (via autocreate feature eventually) and then send it to oracle sourcing?
when a buyer is awarded, can i create a po from oracle sourcing to PO?
thanks
davide
[email protected]The concept could still work with JInitiator, but you loose the functionality to eliminate the Forms applet startup time when navigating between ADF Faces pages with and without Oracle Forms forms embedded.
For this functionality to work, you would have to make the switch to Sun JVM 1.4.2 (or 1.5.0).
So, you still require a Java virtual machine to run the applet on the client side, but it should be Sun JVM to get the best result. The integration between Oracle Forms and ADF Faces (or UIX, PHP, etc.) is all client-side based on a JavaScript interface between the hosting web page and the Forms applet. This is a feature that can be added to existing Forms versions as I explain in the papers. It's also a feature that is planned for the next release of Forms (version 11g). So, with Forms version 11g there is no need to extend the Forms applet yourself to add this JavaScript API. -
Replace Oracle Workshop for Weblogic with OEPE?
Hi,
I've been working with Oracle Workshop for Weblogic for over 3 years and it isn't working as well as I hoped. I recently heard about OEPE and thought it might work as a drop-in replacement for OWfW.
Here is the technology stack that I currently rely on OWfW for development:
Weblogic Server 10.3.0
Weblogic Portal 10.3.0
ODSI
OSB
I develop portals/portlets, pageflow applications, web services, dataspaces, and OSB artifacts with OWfW.
So, I downloaded Eclipse 3.7 (Indigo) and used the Eclipse Update Manager to install OEPE:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27086_02/help/oracle.eclipse.tools.common.doc/html/install.html#update_manager
I selected every possible component and didn't leave any option unchecked for the install.
Now, as I mentioned, I already have the servers installed (WLS, WLP, ODSI, OSB). I was hoping that OEPE would give me the same ability to develop an ODSI dataspace, for example, as OWfW...but it appears it doesn't. Actually, I can't find any tooling support for WLP, ODSI, or OSB.
Can someone confirm that the tooling support for these technologies is missing in OEPE?
I read this link:
https://blogs.oracle.com/middleware/entry/installing_eclipse_for_osb_development
which suggests that Eclipse can be used for OSB development but, as I understand it, it requires me to install OEPE in a different way (along with Weblogic Server). Furthermore, I don't want to install Weblogic Server 11g because I already have all the servers installed that I want to use.
Can I get some advice on how to proceed?
Thanks...
KevinI see. And you're hoping that OEPE would be better. Since Workshop is Eclipse, I would expect the OEPE support from various products to simply be reincarnations of the same Eclipse plugins - and perhaps the behavior to be similar.
"the best way to describe it is "flaky". Intermittently, there are WLS deployment or IDE errors. It also occasionally (and randomly) hangs, is slow, and strange behaviour is very common. Just as randomly, errors will go away."
Seeing the errors (from the workshop log and the server log) would be helpful. Without any other information, my best guess is that Workshop and/or WLS is low on memory, or even that the machine they are running on is low on memory. Workshop memory can be increased with the arguments -Xmx and -XX:MaxPermSize in <workshop>/workshop.ini. The memory settings for wls are in the <domain>/bin/setDomainEnv file.
Somethings that you might find chewing up a lot of memory is many/large xml schemas - they get compiled into xmlbeans and held in memory. If you have several projects in a single workspace, you might consider putting them in separate workspaces. -

There is a DBlink for Oracle 8 on the oracle 9 database. Now when we try to select any data from oracle 9 and insert into oracle 8 using the dblink all the VARCHAR or CHAR values are going as null.
For example if we try the following sql:
INSERT INTO oracle8table@dblink (col1_varchar,col2_num)
SELECT col1_varchar,col2_num FROM oracle9table
all the col1_varchar are populated as NULL, however the col2_num is getting populated correctly.
The data type of both the columns are identical.
Any help on this highly appreciated.
ThanksHow about posting the table structures just to make your post more clearer and avoid ambiguity ?
Just a matter of thought it is always better to pull the data rather than push the data. For e.g. in oracle you cannot use direct path insert while pushing the data but you can use direct path insert while pulling data.
