Problem regenerating Web Service - PI Cache not been refreshed issue?

Hi guys.
I'm pretty new to PI, so I don't really know if this issue has been discussed before. I tried a search but it couldn't solve my problem.
I'll described my scenario as best I can. I've created a WebService in PI via an RFC, everything was running fine, until we had to modify some field's length in our ABAP structure. We've regenerated everything, deleted the old Web Service and created a new one with a new WSDL, but when running it, we get the data mixed up in our internal table, it looks like something of the previous Web Service is still in cache. We tried refreshing it through SXI_CACHE but still nothing, so we're running out of clues. The only thing we're sure about is that is something related to the PI caches, but we don't know what.
Hope you can help.
Best Regards

Hello,
I never worked with WebServices in PI but I faced similar issue using ABAP Proxies.
When you generate an ABAP Proxy and change the structure (e.g. an IDOC), you need to delete the proxy and create a new one but using a diferent name of implementation class.
In other words if you create a new proxy but using the same name it seems the change has no effect.
Maybe you can try this way. Change your webservice defintion, name, etc...

    Hi,
since I did not find that BAPI in my system: what is the exact name?
Did you test the BAPI directly in ABAP, i.e. function builder SE37, successfully?
Currently it looks to me as if you did not provide sufficient business data.
Did you specify the employee number before executing the call?

  • Web Service WSDL/URL not seen by Excel

    Hello,
I have a BW function module with a web service created over it and I am trying to get this to connect to Excel 2003.(The web services tool kit is installed)  I can get Excel to see this web service:
    http://www.webservicex.net/WS/WSDetails.aspx?CATID=2&WSID=9
but not the one I created.
I don't know why it doesn't work with mine. I am using SAP Netweaver 2004s. I also made sure that the username/password is included in the WSDL URL.  I am able to connect to the Web Service's homepage in IE and run a sucessful test of the FM it connects too. I have the Toolkit installed in Office 2003. In WSCONFIG I can see that the web service is green/has been succesfully released.
Is there anything I have to do to ensure the service is exposed to the world?
    Many thanks,
    Gary

    AAAaahh I figured it out!
I must have had a typo somewhere in my WSDL when I inserted the system user name and password into it.  That is what I was missing.
This is what didn't work for me:
    http://host.name.com:1234/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZGEM_ADD_WEBSERVICE?sap-client=123&wsdl=1.1
What did work(inserted username and password into generated wsdl):
    http://host.name.com:1234/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZGEM_ADD_WEBSERVICE?sap-client=123&sap-user=username&sap-password=password&wsdl=1.1
    Thanks for your replies everyone!

  • Problem understanding web service architecture

I am part of a big project where multiple parties are developing the components. My applicaiton receive data from another application currently as flat file. After implementaiton of this project that applicaiton will send data through message queue. Data received will be SOAP/JMS data. Sending applicaiton has a webservice that will send these SOAP messages in Message queue. We have to insert data into a table. We dont need to send the reply to web service.
I have been told that I will have to use wsdl provided by sending webservice to interpret the schema of message
I know how to read messages from message queue using MDB but not able to understand how to use wsdl to interpret schema? I used wscompile to generate java code from wsdl but those are small classes and have information about calling web service(I think). How do I interprest the schema or use wsdl to process incoming message?

You might want to look at the JMS plug-in to JAX-WS (https://jms-ws-transport.dev.java.net/) at a minimum it should give you an idea on how to pull the message of of the queue and convert it to something you can use.

  • Web service model cache

    Hi all,
I am using adaptive web service model in CE7.2 Server.
every time i made some change to the web service, it is not well recognized,
for example, i add one more field in the input request. i reimported the model, compile and deploy.
the server just can not recognize that field, it always says that model don't have that property.
so every time, I have to restart server to clear the cache and make the new model valid.
is there any other means to clear the cache? restart server is annoying and taking time.
    thanks
    John

    Hi,
    Please consider the following:
For JCO Models running on NW 7.2 you go to:
    1) NWA
    2) Availability and Performance Management --> Resource Monitoring
    3) JCO Monitoring
    4) Metadata Cache
    5) Click on clear of the desired cache region.
For WebServices Cache, please follow the instructions as per notes below:
Note 1088382 - WSIL results are cached after search
Note 1123574 - Caching functionality of the Web service connector
    Cheers,

  • Error "web service destination is not configured" in CTS+

    Hi experts,
during deployment with CTS+ I get the error "web service destination is not configured" (see below). In fact there is a web service to be deployed and a WebDynpro-DC using this web service as adaptive web service model. The model uses the destination DACC_PI_WS_METADATA_DEST and DACC_PI_WS_EXECUTION_DEST. I configured both destinations in the server with type "WSDL".
    Any idea what goes wrong?

  • Web Service session manager not found.

I'm trying to understand how to use the HTTP utilities, and I'm having trouble just creating a session.  I get a Web Service session manager not found error.  I've read where the client has to support cookies.  My eventual client will be a labview VI that talks to a web server.  I llooked at the Toolsptions, but don't see anything related to cookies.  Not sure if that's what's causing this anyway, but I'm just digging.  Also, I want to eventually send http messages across TCP/IP.  Do I need to use the TCP/IP VIs (i.e. open connection, etc) or do I use the http utilities alone.  If both are needed, how does the httpRequestID and the TCP/IP connection ID correlate.

  • Web Services Demo (OTNMobileWrapper) not works

I tested in my own database environment and also at my account on htmldb.oracle.com.
    - Wheather service works fine
    - Amazon works fine
    - OTNMobileWrapper did not
I believe the URL and the Action are wrong!
(the Urls in Wheather and Amazon I can call in the browser directly, the Url from OTNMobileWrapper was not found).

yeah, i see what you mean regarding that "OTN Message Service" option in our web services demo. further inspection by a teammate reveals that more than a few of these OTN Live Web Services appear to not be working. i'm currently checking around to see what the deal is with that, but from an html db perspective, though, you should already know what you need to know: it is possible to call web services from within your html db applications. this particular one in our example appears to currently be unavailable (if you do feel it's our "URL and action", btw, please do send that info to [email protected]), but calls to the more stable ones like amazon, for instance, always work.
    hope this helps,
    raj

To enable rest support there are some instructions below:
Before undertaking this process, I recommend backing up the file(s)
    you are going to edit.
By default REST is disabled in Axis 2. We need to enable it. We
need to go to the following folder. Assuming D: is the installation drive:
    1.     D:\Program
    Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 32 Bit OS)
    or D:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 64 Bit OS)
    2.     There is a file with the name axis2.xml (This file is an XML File and contains many parameters as well as many other things).
    3.     Make a backup copy of the filename you are about to edit.
    4.     Open the axis2.xml file in Notepad or 'XML Editor' to edit
    5.     Search for the word REST (Ctrl & F is probably easiest)
    6.     You will see a line like this
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">true</parameter>
We need to replace' true' with 'false' to enable REST, and after the changing that line will look like following:
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">false</parameter>
    7.     Save the file and restart the web server.

  • My Iphone calendar events are not showing up in iCal when I sync? Syncing has not been an issue till today?

My Iphone calendar events are not showing up in iCal when I sync? Syncing has not been an issue till today?

I found this tip from a 2011 discussion on the same topic.
Open iCal and backup or export your entries. Make a note of the fie name and location, you're going to need them in a minute. Once your backup/export is completed, close the iCal application.
Open Finder and remove everything inside the "Username/Library/Calendars" folder. For instance, if your username is "Joe", then move everything inside the "Joe/Library/Calendars" folder.
Open the iSync application. It's located in the "/Applications/" folder. Once iSync is opened, go into the iSync Preferences (iSync -> Preferences) and push/click the "Reset Sync History" button. Then, close the iSync application.
Re-Open the iCal application and Import (File -> Import) a new calendar. When prompted, use your notes from Step #1 to select the file your created earlier. Once completed, close the iCal application (you should have all of your calendar entries back.)
Open the iTunes application and connect your Apple iPhone to the computer.
Within the Advanced section of the Info tab for the Apple iPhone, check the box the overwrites/replaces the Calendar data on the Apple iPhone.
Click the Apple/Sync button. New, modified and deleted entries should now be syncing correctly.
That's it! You should be all set and iTunes, iCal and our Apple iPhone should all be playing nicely as friends again. We've used the exact method to repair our own Apple iPhone at least once... maybe even twice.

  • Binary data problem with web services on JRockit but not Sun JDK

I have a problem with binary data in SOAP and JRockit
(jrrt-3.0.0-1.6.0-linux-x64.bin) . I have an set of web services based
on EJB 3.0 which return images as byte arrays inside a SOAP envelope
to be consumed by .NET 2 services. The host app server is Oracle
Application Server 10.3.1 on RHEL Linux update 4, on 64 bit Xeon 5500
    series HP blade hardware.
While most images are fine most of the time, one particular image
gives this message when being consumed in the .NET client:
The '■' character, hexadecimal value 0x1F, cannot be included in a
    name. Line 2, position 380038.
The MSDN suggests that this is usually caused by non-escaping of reserved XML characters like < but this isn't one of those.
The SOAP looks ok and for the life of me I can't see why this ought to
be a problem, especially since the problem doesn't arise running with
the SUN JDK 1.6_06 64 bit)
When making the same call from the OAS Enterprise Manager, I can make the same call with no problem (but the data is just rendered as character data in a browser) which maybe suggests some incompatibility with how JRockit is serializing the data ?
Any ideas, I would be very happy to hear - JRockit gives a 15% or so
speed boost to the website that these services power so obviously we
want to use it if possible.
Edited by: RichLiv on Nov 14, 2008 4:54 AM

Seems to be the case that using MTOM stops this problem with JRockit. Strange but apparently true (so far).
