Problem reinstalling Acrobat X Pro

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat X Pro after getting a new hard drive. I deactivated it on the computer I used in the interim before trying to reinstall. I had no problems a week ago but this time after all the files load the install stops for several minutes and then an Error 1305 is displayed asking that I verify that Data1.cab is available and that I can access it. I can see that file name is the last one moved when all of the files have installed. Is there a way to access a download for Acrobat X Pro now that version XI has been released? If not, how do I proceed?

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Problems reinstalling Acrobat X Pro

I have without success repeatedly tried to reinstall my Acrobat X Pro.  I had a longish chat with Ranjit from Adobe Customer Service who ended giving me a Danish number to call but no one answered.  Is there really no way to contact Adobe by mail or any other more direct ways?

    Hi skovstrup,
You'll need to provide some additional information:
    - Operating system and version number
    - The full text of any error message(s)
    - Screenshots of the problem etc.
You might want to try the following general troubleshooting steps and check :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

  • Problems Uninstalling Acrobat 9 pro ...

I was wondering if anyone else was having problems uninstalling Acrobat 9 Pro. I run an IT department and have tried everything that can think of to get the thing uninstalled. Nothing's working, it continuously comes up with errors saying that it can't uninstall, that there is already a newer version of Acrobat installed, or some other random errors. The computer is an "extra"computer, and the cd key for Acrobat 9 Pro is now installed on another machine. All I want to do is take Acrobat 9 off and reinstall Acrobat 8.
    Any suggestions?

Deactivate before uninstalling (unless this is a volume license). Then use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool.

  • Problem installing Acrobat Reader Pro in Mavericks

Acrobet keeps crashing and I get "configuration error 16." I have deinstalled and reinstalled, but still doesn't work. I'm working on a new MacBook Air 11" with Mavericks and this is a first installatoin. I had no problem on my old MacBook Air 13" also with Mavericks.

Thank you for the reply. I'm afraid I was unclear - it's a problem with Acrobat XI Pro, not Acobat Reader. My mistake. The link you provided was just for Reader. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

  • HT5149 Hi, I still have problems reinstalling Final Cut Pro even though I followed these steps. Didn´t find "com.apple.motionapp.plist" to remove though, but the others I found. Reason why I have to reinstall is because I have repaired my Macbook Pro hard

Hi, I still have problems reinstalling Final Cut Pro even though I followed these steps.
Reason why I have to reinstall is because I have repaired my Macbook Pro hard drive at a Mac Authorized Repair.
Short history of repair and my Final Cut Pro installation:
    1. Macbook Pro stopped working, sendt it for repair. Had the Final Cut Pro installed,
    2. Desided to try a MiniMac and recovered my backup with Time Machine, got the Final Cut Pro working.
    3. Got my Macbook Pro back from repair, did backup on this one as well. But this time only the files not the Applications.
    4. Removed the files as mentioned in HT5149. Didn´t find "com.apple.motionapp.plist" to remove though, but the others I found.
    5. When I try to install Final Cut Pro from App Store, it downloads the application as planned. But after download it won´t show in the Application folder nor in the downloads folder, nor will it start an installation prosess. If I pause the installation in App Store, I can see the Final Cut Pro icon in my Dock. (But, as mentioned, after installation it won´t show neither here or in the Applications folder).
Any suggestions on what I should try now?
Thanks for any reply, I´m in deep water here...

Sounds like there is a file you're not getting.  Never do a removal manually.  It's so time consuming and a pain.  There's a very easy and fast way to do this, safely, properly.
Get the free "Final Cut Remover" app from Digital Rebellion (dot com), use this to remove FCP X.
    Reboot the Mac.
    Download from scratch.
If you're not seeing FCP X in your app folder, run Disk Utility to Repair all drives.
If that doesn't help, try running Disk Warrior from Altsoft to repair the directories on all drives.

here's an example of the dots, and yes I have updated acrobat

You're asking a lot of ancient Acrobat to work with an Office that never existed when it was made. "Just updated my office suite" is a massive change, and Window 8 didn't exist at that time either...

  • How to reinstall Acrobat X Pro? I purchased Acrobat X at a retail staore and Acrobat X Pro from the Adobe Website.

I just installed a Solid State Hard-drive on my computer and am now looking for a way to reinstall Acrobat X Pro that I purchased from the Adobe Website. I purchased Acrobat X from a retail store.
I dont need to install Acrobat X from the Disc before I install Acrobat X Pro I purchased from the website do I? And how do I install Acrobat X Pro anyway?

    Hi Sonoma707,
There's no difference between the installer on the disk and that available online.
You can download Acrobat 10 Pro from : http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html
and use the purchased serial number to activate the software.

Sorry that you got such a hassle. Try this. I don't have Acrobat 9 per se, but I have the TCS2 and found the following.
Run Regedit (all the serious warning apply here. Look but don't touch).
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHNINE->SOFTWARE->Adobe->Repair->Adobe Acrobat->9.0->IOD Look under the entry under SERIAL.
Maybe it works maybe it doesn't. But it might help.

Actually, you can and have downloaded from there, because that message only happens when the download is finished.
The message is entirely normal, and is Apple's way of encouraging the world to use the Mac App Store. That doesn't help you because Acrobat isn't in the Mac App Store - it isn't allowed there.
So, what to do? Change your system settings
Please follow the steps given below to resolve this issue -
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Allow applications downloaded from > Anywhere

  • Reinstall Acrobat X Pro on new laptop?

I reinstall Acrobat X Pro on my new laptop?

Did you reinstall or what? If you had AA X installed on a previous laptop, you will need to deactivate it and then install it on the new system. If it is Win8, then you in for possibly finding it does not work, particularly for a 64-bit system. At least, once the install is done (assuming it is successful), you will then need to install the updates.
