Problem rendering IBM date component JSF
Hi All,
First of all i would like to thank you all for your previous valuable suggestions. Currently iam working on a JSF page in which i need to use a Date picker component of IBM.
I used the following code snippet
<%@taglib uri="http://www.ibm.com/jsf/html_extended" prefix="hx"%>
<body>
<hx:scriptCollector id="scriptCollector1">
<h:form id="propertyForm" styleClass="content">
<h:inputText id="completionDate" size="14" value="#{propertyCoverageABean.propertyCoverageView.completionDate}" rendered="#{(sessionState.currentPolicy.newBusiness || sessionState.currentPolicy.endorsement) && (propertyCoverageABean.propertyCoverageView.typeOfConstructionProject eq 'REM')}" styleClass="inputText">
<f:convertDateTime type="date" pattern="MM/dd/yyyy" />
<hx:inputHelperDatePicker rendered="true" />
<hx:inputHelperAssist autoTab="true" inputAssist="true" />
</h:inputText>
The problem is , date picker symbol is not getting displayed on my page for the first time. If the refresh the page, date picker symbol comes up.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Krishna

DateField component in UIX is rendering wrong date
Hi,
After the DST has ended, our bc4j:uix component is rendering wrong date values for alle the dates prior to 25.10.2009.
We have following configuration
UIX version: 2.2.24.2
Jdev: 10.1.2.2.0 (build 1929)
Our UIX application is deployed to a Linux server with the uix libraries comes with 2.2.24.2
We have tried to upgrade to Uix version 2.2.24.5 as mentioned in the Bug 7631416 but it didn't solve the problem.
Any help appreciated.

Problem with updating Time component of an Oracle Date field in ALBPM
Hi.
I'm new to ALBPM and am experiencing the following problem I hope someone can take the time to help out with.
I'm using a Date and Time Picker element in a Form to enter the date and time information. Within ALBPM the date and time representation appears correct as it prints out what I've entered. The logMessage displays this information in the form "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:mm:ss+TimezoneOffset". The BPM Object that stores this value is referencing an Oracle table that has an equivalent Date field. My problem is that it appears to only update the Date component.
I've also tried using the native Time variable type within ALBPM be adding an variable of type Time to the BPM Object and setting the result Database object equal to this Time variable with the same result. The Time variable was declared with Timestamp precision (take this to mean both Date and Time components).
Has anyone come across this problem? I'm using ALBPM Studio 6.0 M3 as my release.
Thanks.I must have deselected the "Use Timestamp for Date columns" in the Advanced tab within the External Resource definition for my database at some point in time. Enabling this option fixed my problem - silly me.

i'm trying to find a date component that shows only the month and the year (and no day).
for now i'm using <t:inputDate type="date">, and ignoring it's day atribute.
does anyone knows where i can find one?

Issue with appending data to JSF HTML - Data Table Component
I am following the article from Oracle Magazine title Generating a JSF Data Table:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-jan/o16jsf.html After tweaking the code I was able to get the example working in Part 2 of this article...I was able to run a query and the results were brought back to my table...my question is, after you perform the query once, the results of the new query are appended to each column...and if you submit another query the new results are appended to the results from the previous 2 queries...what call do I need to make in order to "refresh" the table or reset the column values. I am new to the JSF table data component. Here is the code being used...the commandButton1_action() method is called each time a new query is submitted:
ppublic String commandButton1_action()
// Add event code here...
ResultSet rs;

Statement stmt=connection.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,
ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
rs=stmt.executeQuery((String)inputText1.getValue());
dataTable1.setBorder(5);
dataTable1.setCellpadding("1");
dataTable1.setVar("catalog");

headerComponent.setValue("CatalogId");

ANNOUNCE: Speed up your Data-Driven JSF/Seam Application by Two Orders of
Hello,
I am pleased to announce a new article on JSF Central. In the second installment of this two-part article, Dan Allen continues his discussion of some common performance problems you may encounter when using JSF components, Seam components, and the EL. You'll learn about the set of best practices for eliminating them that led to an improvement of two orders of magnitude in the performance of his application.
Here is an excerpt:
In the first part of this article, I began briefing you on optimizations I made to maximize the responsiveness of a JSF application that I developed out in the field. I cited performance problems caused by casually accessing components from a JSF view, then presented a set of best practices to eliminate this unnecessary overhead. Despite the progress made by the end of the first part, you had not yet witnessed the two orders of magnitude in performance improvement that was promised.
In this part, the additional gains will be achieved by leveraging partial page rendering-provided by the RichFaces JSF component library and by slimming the response. Partial page rendering cuts out the overhead of rerendering the entire page after each user interaction, which turns out to be the real bottleneck in most traditional web applications, and instead redraws only the areas of the page that have changed. Naturally, you want the replacement HTML source to be as condensed as possible. These optimizations allow the responsiveness of a web application to measure up to its desktop counterpart.

+1 203-404-4848 x3Hi,
how can we ensure that every body define the id in jsf page. we are using the jsf 1.0 and I think this artical for jsf 1.2
with IBM extended JFS lib.
if we don't want to change the code of full application,is it possible to speed up the render time with the help of framework or some other way. -
Problem using javascript to submit jsf form, values not submitted
Greetings!
I have a t:selectOneMenu where I want the page to be submitted when they change the selected value. At this point, I am able to get the form to submit and reload the page, which is all fine. The problem is that none of the values from the page are not set in the backing bean. I have break points on the setter methods that are not being hit.
I have tried a number of things from searching multiple forums, but here are snippets from my latest version...
<h:form>
<t:commandLink id="hiddenLink" forceId="true" value="test link"
action="#{pc_PageX.doBtnHiddenLinkAction}"></t:commandLink>
<t:selectOneMenu id="pageList_top" forceId="true" value="#{pc_PageX.ValueX}"
onchange="jspellSync(); submitPageX();">
<f:selectItems value="#{pc_PageX.ListX}" />
</t:selectOneMenu>
</h:form>
function submitPageX(){
var hiddenLink = document.getElementById("hiddenLink");
hiddenLink.click();
}Note that the <t:commandLink> is not hidden, though it will be in the final version if I can get this to work.
If I click the commandLink myself, the page is submitted with all the page values as expected. If I change the list value, thus using javascript to fire the commandLink's click event, the page is submitted with NO values.
Can anyone come up with an explanation for this behavior? Or better yet, a solution?
A couple other things I've tried...
- Not using a commandLink and using jsf's submit function -> onchange="jspellSync(); submit();"
- Clicking the link using other ways -> hiddenLink.fireEvent('onclick');
If all else fails, I'll just add a button that they have to click to submit the form.snotmare wrote:

I recall this problem in one of the ancient JSF versions. Which JSF version do you use? Do you have any room to upgrade to latest? We're using an IBM implementation of JSF, which is at version 7.0. The IBM implementation appears to be built on the JSF base 1.1.That's not an IBM JSF implementation, they do not have any one, they just have some component libraries which runs on top of some JSF implementation. RAD/WSAD ships by default with Sun JSF RI. Try upgrading to at least 1.1_02 which you can download from the aforementioned link. There's a gap of 2 years (and inherently a lot of bugfixes) compared to 1.1. If the application server used supports Servlet 2.5, you could even upgrade to the latest 1.2.
We've had other issues with the IBM implementation, which could be the cause in this case too. We've been talking about switching to MyFaces, but there is one feature of the IBM version that we like. It's basically a script collector (hx:scriptCollector) that allows us to do pre-processing on the page.As said before, IBM does not have a JSF implementation. So replacing RI by MyFaces wouldn't make any difference. -

SenthilHi,
the problem seems to be connection to the database or may be database URL is incorrect.
The problem can be solved via the Visual Administrator or by a manual modification of the data-sources.xml file.
Visual Administrator --> Server --> Services --> JDBC Connector -->Select DataSource
Change the URL given in the Database URL field with the appropriate one & save it.

Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component log file?
Hello. I am having troubles on locating the log file for this particular error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.
Exception id: 11:59_31/07/07_0004_19351950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I searched all folders on my drive, using the exception id as keyword to search files that contains part of the id (0004_19351950), but to no avail. I wanted to see the log for me to identify the problem. Any ideas where I can look for it? or, better yet, what can be a solution to this runtime error?
I'm using the 2004s developer environment version. Thanks in advance.hi Arnold,
Go to Java Developer role -> expand Portal Tools folder -> click on Portal Logviewer. Put the exception id in the text-box corresponding to search -> click on search all files. Open the file that is displayed in the search result and make a search with the id again to refer to the exact line.
N.B: if you don't have Java developer role, using user admin, assign that role to you first

How to override the renderer for ADF component?
I want to overide the renderer for ADF components, without using <default-render-kit>, I defined every render class. But It does not work.
Always told me: Could not find renderer for CoreOutputText[UIXFacesBeanImpl, id=_id0], rendererType = oracle.adf.Text
How can I config custom renderer for exsiting component or new components?
Thanks a lot!

1022 Data Component. Missing java class webdb/dataptl/JavaWrapper
Hi All,
I have enabled the data component beta feature in ias 1022 on NT (81711) and added this component to an application. On attempting to run the component (not as portlet) I get the error
oracle.webdb.dataptl.JavaWrapper class cannot be loaded.
On running (as SYS)
select object_name from all_objects where object_name like '%/dataptl/%';
I get
OBJECT_NAME
oracle/webdb/dataptl/Constants
oracle/webdb/dataptl/Formatter
oracle/webdb/dataptl/Token
Has this class been ommited from the install or am I looking in the wrong place?
Is there anymore documentation on Data components anywhere?
Thanks
Joel.Yep I have the same problem on mine too. Sure sounds like an interesting component - too bad it isn't working for me though! Seems like a JAR file is missing or something.
