  • Using the Edit definition feature for data controls in Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g 11.1.2.3.0.
    I have some data controls used in my application. Initially they were pointing to lab now it has been changed to development.
    I need to change the wsdl urls' for each data controls. I used edit definition feature in each data controls and copy pasted the new urls. But this does not seem to work.
    Is this the right way of doing it or is there any other way to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sal

  • Exception while creating Data Control

    Good day house,
    I have been doing some research on using business components design in other IDEs with Oracle ADF faces within JDeveloper 11g.
    I went through the following steps
    create a Java EE web application - a model and viewcontroller project
    imported my EJB project jar file - but I could not get an icon to show me the beans within my jar, so I imported the source instead
    On importing the source, I right click on my bean classes and chose create Data control but it comes with an exception

    1. Can I create my data control from the bean interfaces instead of the bean?
    2. Why the exception? Is it a problem with my JDeveloper installation?
    3. Is it also possible to create a data control from any plain java object/interface.
    thanks in advance

    Did you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

  • Getting Extra classes while creating Data Control in ADF

    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0.
    I was trying to create a Data Control from a Java class (containing event handling code) right click on the java class -> Create data Control.
    I can see many data controls were created in my work space when the operation was completed
    Example: java.io.InputStream.xml, java.net.URI.xml and many more.
    Anybody please suggest is it a problem in Jdeveloper tool or I need to perform any additional step to remove all these files.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hello TimoHahn,
    I can see only the Data controls are getting generated (not the class files).
    Please find the code snippet for my class for which I generated data controls:
    public class ContexEvent {
        public ContexEvent() {
            super();
        public void handleEvent(ActionEvent payload){
            UIComponent component = payload.getComponent();
            Map<String, Object> attrMap = component.getAttributes();
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            ELContext elContext = context.getELContext();
            Application application = context.getApplication();
            ExpressionFactory factory = application.getExpressionFactory();
            ValueExpression valueExpr = factory.createValueExpression(elContext, "#{backingBeanScope.NameBean}", Object.class);
            NameBean nb=(NameBean)valueExpr.getValue(elContext);
            //String newVal = (String)payload.getNewValue();
            nb.setFirstName("Rajesh");
            AdfFacesContext adfContext= AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            adfContext.addPartialTarget(nb.getNameLabel());

  • Is it possible to create data control from wsdl when complextype is used

    Getting DCA-40015 error when trying to create a data control from WSDL file.
    The error clearly says complextype is not supported . just trying to see if there are any workarounds . because creating data control will save time in developing user interface by dragging and dropping the the data control in jsf page. jdeveloper webservice tester is able to create user interface for me based on wsdl when i run it , trying to develop the user interface using jsf pages
    oracle.adf.model.adapter.AdapterException: DCA-40015: Failed to create the structure for schema element "result". The complex type definition of the element is not supported.

    Hi,
    I could reproduce what I did:
    - created WebService from custom Pojo Model
    - Made sure all entities implemented serializable
    - In the WebServices Wizard, I created XML representations for my entities
    - tested with OC4J WebServices tester
    - Built ADF data control from WSDL file of deployed WebService
    - Created dependency t project containing the POJO entities
    - Selected result.xml of each method exposed in the WebService project
    - In the structure window, selected "item" (result-->item)
    - changed Bean class to my entity class name (absolute name)
    This showed my entity in the DC palette

    3. right click the class
    and...
    I can't find the create data control button and create webservice button
    I do the same operation on another computer , it appears !
    why ?
    is ther any settings I need to turn ?

    If you do not bother about loosing your current IDE preferences then close/kill jdev and try deleting the jdev system directory. Start jdev again.

  • Can't fnd Data Controls in jdeveloper studio

    Here is my problem. I can't find Data Controls Accordion in jDeveloper studio. I red some body's reply about this subject and was trying to do what he was telling me to. What he suggests to solve the proble is just to delete
    "oracle.security.jps.config     /C:/Users/Adam/AppData/Roaming/JDeveloper/system11.1.1.3.37.56.60/DefaultDomain/config/fmwconfig/jps-config-jse.xml" . But, first of all, I can't even find "AppData/Roaming/JDeveloper/system11.1.1.3.37.56.60/DefaultDomain/config/fmwconfig/jps-config-jse.xml" sub directory in my computer. May be it could be hidden for some reason.
    Can any body help me how to access this sub directory. By the way my operating system is windows Vista.

    I was having a problem where the Data Controls panel and the Recently Opened Files panel were not displayed in the Application navigation area. To fix the problem, I went to the Tools -> Preferences... area, selected Roles, and changed the Role from Default Role to Java EE Edition. Then I restarted JDeveloper. Still there were no Data Controls and Recently Opened Files panels. So, I went back to the Tools -> Preferences... area, selected Roles, and changed the Role from Java EE Edition back to Default Role. Then I restarted JDeveloper and the Data Controls and Recently Opened Files panels are now visible.
    This is JDeveloper11g Release 1 (11.1.1.3.0) running on Linux.

  • Create data control from java class, not see "ADF Parameter Forms" option

    Hi,
    I have created a Fusion Web Application (ADF) in jdev 11g. In the application model project, I created a java class. Inside the java class, I have a public method as below
    public Asset [] searchAsset3(SearchTerm s) // SearchTerm is a java bean. It implements java.io.Serializable.
    I created data control from my java class. After that, I see an xml file generated under the same folder of my java class. Here is the xml content.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <JavaBean xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/beanmodel" version="11.1.1.53.62"
    id="AIAAsset" Package="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model"
    BeanClass="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset" isJavaBased="true">
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    id="searchAsset" ReturnNodeName="Asset"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="name" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="version" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="description" Type="java.lang.String"
    isStructured="false"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.AssetSummary"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.AssetSummary"
    id="searchAssetSummary" ReturnNodeName="AssetSummary"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="name" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="version" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="description" Type="java.lang.String"
    isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="type" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    id="searchAsset3" ReturnNodeName="Asset"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="s" Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.query.SearchTerm"
    isStructured="true"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <ConstructorMethod IsCollection="true"
    Type="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset"
    BeanClass="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset"
    id="AIAAsset"/>
    </JavaBean>
    Then, in application user interface project, I created a JSPX page. From the data controls palette, I want to drag and drop the searchAsset3 onto my page. However, I don't see an option for me to choose "Create -> Parameters -> ADF Parameter Form". I only see "Create -> Methods". Unlike other public methods (e.g.searchAssetSummary and searchAsset) which have simple data type as input, I can see the "Create -> Parameters -> ADF Parameter Form" option when I drag and drop to my jspx page. Is that something I missed while creating data controls?
    Thanks.
    Arnold.

    Then, my other question is how do you do the bindings? I drag and drop the attributes from SearchTerm bean. Now the pagedef file has the AttributeValues added but my method is actually expecting one input parameter of type SearchTerm. How do you bind the attributes to the input of the method? Thanks.
    See below of my pagedef xml file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="11.1.1.53.62" id="SearchAssetBySearchTerm1PageDef"
    Package="oracle.apps.aia.oer.view.pageDefs">
    <parameters/>
    <executables>
    <variableIterator id="variables"/>
    <methodIterator Binds="SearchTerm.result" DataControl="AIAAsset"
    RangeSize="25"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.query.SearchTerm"
    id="SearchTermIterator"/>
    </executables>
    <bindings>
    <methodAction id="SearchTerm" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
    Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="SearchTerm"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="AIAAsset"
    ClassName="com.flashline.registry.openapi.query.SearchTerm"
    ReturnName="AIAAsset.methodResults.SearchTerm_AIAAsset_SearchTerm_result"/>
    <attributeValues IterBinding="SearchTermIterator" id="key">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="key"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>
    <attributeValues IterBinding="SearchTermIterator" id="operator">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="operator"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>
    <attributeValues IterBinding="SearchTermIterator" id="value">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="value"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>
    <methodAction id="searchAsset3" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
    Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="searchAsset3"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="AIAAsset"
    InstanceName="AIAAsset.dataProvider"
    ReturnName="AIAAsset.methodResults.searchAsset3_AIAAsset_dataProvider_searchAsset3_result">
    *<NamedData NDName="s"*
    NDType="com.flashline.registry.openapi.query.SearchTerm"/>+
    </methodAction>
    </bindings>

  • Create Data Control does not work?!

    I created an application with JSF,EJB,TopLink JPA technology template.
    Two projects were generated, EJBModel and View Controller. So far so good.
    In EJBModel project I generated 6 entities from 6 db tables. I also created a native query in orm.xml and created a result class entity to take the result of this native query.
    I generated session EJB facade and added a method to invoke above native query.
    I also generated EJB client from this facade to test it.
    I run both to ensure query works as expected and it did.
    I then right clicked on session EJB facade and selected option Create Data Control.
    JDev pop-ed up two windows: one window to Choose EJB Interface dialog and on top of this one another window with title "Create Data Control" and with message "Creating data Control..." stuck forever. I could not remove nor stop this window executing, I had to kill JDev in Task Manager.
    Is this a known thing and is there a workaround? This is kind of urgent, any help is appreciated

    I returned to 10.1.3.2. and created the same application, but got bunch of exceptions which forced me a couple of weeks ago to switch to 11g Preview environment:

  • Problem in creating data type

    hi..
    i've problem in creating data type in xi after importing idoc from the R/3 sender
    plz tell me the basic steps for creating data type in the receiver i.e xi.....
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    You don't need to create a data type after importing the IDOC.
    Idoc itself acts as message type and message interface.
    check this for creating a data type..

  • I am not able to create ESB project in Jdeveloper 11g

    I tried to create ESB project in Jdeveloper 11g and not finding.
    3.3.1 How to Create an ESB Project
    After you have created an application, create the ESB project that will contain the ESB services using Oracle JDeveloper ESB Designer.
    To create an ESB project:
    In the Applications Navigator, right-click the application to which you want to add a project and then choose New Project.
    The New Gallery opens.
    Select ESB Project under General Projects, and then click OK.

    Here is what i see in Jdeveloper help.
    Comment: Questions on ESB configuration with demo, or specific steps to recreate ESB components of the demo, are described in the SOA Quick Start or Tutorial. ESB info in this guide is more of an overview of the process. Note that ESB is installed with SOA suite and that ESB does not need separate configurations and uses connections defined for the SOA demo

  • Create Data Control not showing in EJB Session Bean context menu

    Hi All,
    I've been studying the new Oracle Application Development Framework Tutorial for 10g Release 3 (10.1.3). When I get to page 2-16 (page 31 of the PDF doc) it says to create ADF Data Control. Specifically is says " In the Applications Navigator, right-click the SRPublicFacadeBean.java node and choose Create Data Control from the context menu."
    But my context menu doesnt have the Create Data Control option. I double checked that I didn't miss a step in the tutorial. I'm sure it's something simple. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there another way to create the Data Control for an EJB Session Bean?
    Thanks,
    Cary

    I downloaded "jdevstudio1013.zip " and I still don't have this context menu?
    What are the steps to correct this?
    Thanks,
    --Todd
    Figured it out. I was having an extension issue and I had to turn off all of my extensions. Thus, turned on the ADF extension (duh!) and all was well.

  • Creating Data Control Adapters

    Hi,
    I'd like to create custom data control adapter. Unfortunately, documentation I have found covers 10.1.3 version:
    http://sqltech.cl/doc/oas10gR3/web.1013/b25386/advanced_adf_data_controls.htm
    Why there is no documentantion to 11g ?
    Kuba

    Hi,
    in JDeveloper 12c we provide a wizard for this. Not sure what your reason is for building your own adapter, but in the past people outside of Oracle only used POJO beans and never considered writing their own adapters. This is how it comes that there is no documentation. So 12c is the target for your requirement
