Problem running Automator .app on different machine

Hello,
I have written an Automator application (QuitTunes.app) that resides on my Mac No 1 machine. It quits iTunes when invoked for my Mac No 1.
I have another Automator application (RunQuitTunes.app) that resides on my Mac No 2 machine. It runs QuitTunes.app which is located on Mac No 1.
When I run RunQuitTunes.app from Mac No 2 both apps run, but the problem is that iTunes quits on machine Mac No 2 instead of Mac No 1.
Any ideas....

Is there a keyboard shortcut to abort a running Automator app

I have ceated an automator app that takes control of the mouse and does a couple of things with it. A couple of times, for different reasons I would have loved to have been able to abort my automator app.
Is there a keyboard short cut that can do that? I have tried ESC without success.
While the automator app is running a liitle cog appears on the menu bar. If I'm quick enough and the mouse is still for long enough, I can click on that cog and that has an option to kill the app, so the functionality is there.

And you were right, the shortcut doesn't work in practice. How did you know that would be the case? Is Automator known to be a bit of a dud app?
Its not what I'd have expected, as I said the "Stop" fetaure of the cog in the menu bar works great (so long as the mouse isn't moving around uncontrollably). Ya'd think the shortcut would work the exact same.
Whats that ⎋ key. I don't seem to have it on my keyboard. (It looks like the time machine menu bar icon) Perhaps that may work?

Running Automator app/service as command from an Application

I want to create an Automator app or service to be called from a script editor. Which action would allow me to retrieve the filename/filepath that was being edited by that application? Also, the editor has a "run command" feature that I planned to use to run the automator app. What type of automator app should I create to be able to run it as a command?

Friends, i've got, where the problem is.
when we run a class file directly from a command prompt, we get an environment with that shell window. but for a servlet application running these kind of commands from a class creates kind of child processes. each and every command is executed as a child process of jvm and don't get those environment. we have 'PATH' variable in the environment. when a command (say, 'dir' or 'sh' or 'ls', etc.) is executed, the shell first search for that executable file (i.e. dir / sh / ls) in the given paths in the variable 'PATH'. this is not available for the child commands of jvm. hence the basic commands are searched in the current directory of the jvm and they are failed.
i solved the problem giving full path of the commands. like :
p = rt.exec("/bin/sh runningScript.ksh")

Is it possible to run flash apps in different plugin-containers?

I usually have 3-4 opened windows of firefox with quite a few tabs in each window. There are at least 3 or 4 flash apps running at the same time. So when one app crashes and plugin-container fails, I lose progress for each application. Now I'm thinking, that openning one flash plugin-container for each flash application can help me with it. But i can't find any information how can i do that.
I do understand that there may be tons of flash content in each web page, and so that would be nice to have an option to run only selected app in different container. Can i do that now? Or will i be able to do that in future? If not thats ok though, just sad =)

Having a problem running jheadstart app and adf-faces-demo on wls 8.1 sp4

I have created a very simple jheadstart app in Jdeveloper. Also I have created a project from the adf-faces-demo.
I am now trying to run both applications on weblogic 8.1 sp4
Both applications exhibit the same behavior. When trying to load the index page, the progress bar on the browser indicates that the page is loading (and stays there) and I don't see any error in the output log (except for the message:

Which I understand is harmless.
I have done the following to try to make this work:
Make sure that the application is compiled in JDK 1.4
Add the recommend jlib, lib, and MyFaces jars to the classpath.
Change the extension of the index page to jsp and change the web.xml to:

<filter-name>demoRedirect</filter-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</filter-mapping>

I noticed you reported this on the JDev forum as well. Deploying ADF-Jhs apps is not different from deploying a plain ADF app, (apart from the Jhs Runtime lib that should be added to the .ear file), so please continue to use the JDev forum to resolve your problems.

Problem running AIR app on windows server 2003

Hello,
I have an AIR app that I am trying to run from a Java program under Windows 2003. (It runs perfect on XP and Vista.)
The problem is whenever I try to run the AIR app, it runs "Adobe AIR Updater.exe" which causes the app to not run. And both the process stop responding. I can see them both in Task Manager. I disabled the AIR automatic updates using the Settings Manager application but it still runs the Adobe AIR Updater.exe file.
Any help to resolve this problem would be highly appreciated.

Not sure about copying eulaAccepted file from one location to another - that would really depend on which user account your service is running under.
A better approach (IMHO), is to open the services window (My Computer | <right-click> | Manage, then navigate to Services and expand the tree) so you can see your service on the RHS.
Stop your service, then inspect it's properties, select the 'Log on' tab, then check the checkbox which says "Allow system to interact with desktop". Apply the change, then restart your service.
next time the AIR runtime prompts you to accept the EULA, the window will appear on the screen, so you can click "I accept".
After accepting, reverse the procedure which allowed the service to interact with the desktop, and make sure that you have modified the registry to prevent AIR from updating as mentioned in:

Can different members of my team use different apps on different machines?

I purchased the Creative Cloud suite. Can different members of my team use different apps? I'm a video editor using Premier but my webmaster would want to use Dreamweaver, etc. He doesn't use my machine and I don't use his.

I'm not clear what you are trying to say. If you have CC for Teams, then ultimately it doesn't matter which programs the individual team members actually use as long as it's part of the subscription plan.

Can I download an app from the app store on more than one machine? Or do I have to pay for it seperately each time?

You can re download apps using the same Apple ID used for the original purchase (or free) on all your authorized Macs.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Problems running code on a different PC, Executable runs on both PCs

We recently transferred a LV 2010 license from one workstation to another one and tried running some LV code (LV 2010 code) and an executable made from the code at the "new" code development station.
The executable runs without issues. The code won't initialize one of the two devices on a SBS MIL-STD-1553 interface card that's installed in the workstation.
Why would the executable work so flawlessly while the code from which the executable was generated has issues? Seems it would have to be something to do with the new workstation and/or its SBS card.
Any experience with these types of issues when migrating to a new development workstation (mine is running Win XP and LV2010) are much appreciated.

I was using the F067L1 microcode in the PASS 3200 card. GE support said that version of microcode is for the PASS 3200 app and not the Integrated Avionics Avionics Library (i.e., the library of the functions in their DLL).
I updated the microcode to the F040M8 version GE provided. The LV code works now.
The DLL is an older version, dated 12/18/2002. It's working with the LV code but we'll consider updating the DLL in the future.

Problems Running my App on actual Devices

I am having issues when trying to connect iphones and ipads to xcode in organizer, what can I do to fix this?
"Valid signing identity not found" (status for all of my Provisioning Profiles)
- I am a part of the IOS Developer Program ($99/year).
- I have used the launch assistant in the IOS Provisional Portal a few times to create new Provisioning Profiles and obtain Certificates.
- I have downloaded the profiles and certificates to xcode and keychain access.
- I have tried this on two different computers (1.actual mac, 2.mac vmware on windows)
I tried deleting the provisioning profiles and creating new ones to see if that would correct this problem and It didn't work.
I tried deleting the certificates in Keychain Access and re-downloading them and that didn't correct anything.
I accidentally deleted to login keys (public and private) when deleting the certificates, and I can't figure out how to get those back(so that's another problem).
I have since realized that I needed to authorize my computer, so I have done that. I think that may have been the problem but the deleted keys are holding me back(correct me if you feel I'm wrong on that).
What can I do to connect my devices to xcode?

Problem solved:
I deleted everything in Keychain Access, Xcode, and developer.apple.com that had to do with the certificates profiles and devices. then I used the launch assistant to make a new provisioning profile.

Curve 9300 Problem running jmirc app

Hi, i just switched from a Curve 8520 to a Curve 9300. I have been using jmirc social networking irc application on my 8520 but it wont run on my 9300. Comes up with this Error trying to connect to IRC server, aborting....Exception: Invalid url parameter.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

TS1702 was not having any problem running apps Now now none of the apps will run

Problem running app

Hello, i´ve created an app in AIR 1.0, installed it and
copyed the .exe and the other files / folders created after the
installation to create a custom installer using Nullsoft Install
System (NSIS). The installation works OK, but when i try to run the
app in different PC´s, i get this message "The application
installation is damaged. Try reinstalling it or contact the editor
for help"
Anyone knows how can i use the .exe created to be able to
build a custom installer for the app like any other developed
application, like C++ .NET, etc etc?

Not only does this not work, but it also violates the terms
of the AIR EULA.
If you want to create a native installer that also installs
your application, you must sign a separate agreement. See

Static field for apps running on different machines

Let us say I have a class
public class Client(){
private int static someField;I know if you are running Client.java on a single machine, obviously you will only get ONE incarnation of someField because it is static.
Now, let us say I run the Client.java on different machines, then there will be one someField genearted per each JVM , is that right??
can someone confirm??
I did a serach on Static field on the Forum, but nobody really touched on running it on different machines, so I thought I ask...

There will be one instance of the static variable per JVM regardless of whether the JVMs are running on the same machine or different machines.
