Problem starting BPEL Process Manager

When starting the BPEL Process Manager, the second window that is spawned to run the start_olite.bat throws a hotspot error as shown below. This happens each time and causes the PM not to start. Anyone had this problem ?.

It couldn't be such difficult.
I have the jar's, the drivers in, the jdbc url connection as
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:[USERNAME/PASSWORD]@IP:PORT:SID"/>
Also I can connect via sqlplus with this string conn.
The main error I get is
"Cannot lookup jdbc datasource.
The process domain was unable to lookup the TX datasource "jdbc/BPELServerDataSource"."

    An unexpected error has occurred while executing your request. This is most likely related to a defect in the Oracle BPEL Process Manager product. We apologize you can post the error to the OTN forum and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
    That message is shown in WSIF's label of BPELAdmin.
    Also starting show us

    But jdbc looks good.

  • Problem Installing BPEL Process Manager in Win2K

    Hello,
    I am new to BPEL and especially to Oracle BPEL Process Manager. I have to write my diploma thesis about an BPEL-related topic an so I decided to try the Oracle BPEL PM.
    My OS is Win2K, we run Bea Weblogic 8.1.4 as an app server. I installed the BPEL PM and everything was fine. Then it crashed when starting up the Weblogic instance with an command line error "line too long". The error occured while building the environment variable SERVICES_CLASSPATH. I tried to adjust the paths in a way that they have minimum length, I maximised all parameters for cmd.exe in WINNT/_default.pif but nothing helped. Is there anybody out there who can help me? I would appreciate any help.
    Regards,
    Cosima Paul
    PS: We cannot switch the OS because our product that should use BPEL has to run on Win2K AND on Win XP.

    Me again.... ;o)
    strange thing: today I tried to install Oracle BPEL PM for JBoss and everything went fine. What a miracle! The only problem is: I can use this for evaluation purpose but we won't be able to take Oracle BPEL PM in production later on because we need to use Bea Weblogic. Anyway... perhaps the Weblogic problem can be solved the next months or we find another nice BPEL engine.
    Regards,
    Cosima

  • Problem installing BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi,
    I'm new to BPEL. I downloaded BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 for OC4J for Windows. After the download while doing the Oracle Universal Installer I selected "BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier"
    I get the following error:
    BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier will run on top of a supported Oracle Applications Server 10.1.3.0 J2EE Server and Web Server OR J2EE Server instance. This location does not contain this instance. Please refer to the Installation Guide for supported versions. Please select a new Oracle Home that contains a supported instance.
    Can anyone please let me know what could be the issue.

    Hi,
    I'm new to BPEL. I downloaded BPEL Process Manager
    10.1.3.1.0 for OC4J for Windows. After the download
    while doing the Oracle Universal Installer I selected
    "BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier" You would select the above installation option only if you already have an OracleAS Middle Tier - and it would then install BPEL PM into the same ORACLE_HOME.
    The below error message is telling you the same. You have one of two options:
    1. install Oracle AS midtier first and then redo the above install of the BPEL PM
    2. select the standalone option (not the midtier option)

  • Prblem in starting BPEL Process Manager in 10.1.3.1 version

    I have downloaded jdevstudio10131.zip from "http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10131.html"
    What do I need to do to start BPEL Server (BPM) in 10.1.3.1 version (Default domain) on my local machine.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anupam

    jdeveloper studio doesn't include a bpel server. You need to install the soa suite on your local machine.

  • BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 and JBoss 4.0.0  interoperability

    I have installed BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 and JBoss 4.0.0..
    I start BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 and it is working perfectly. Then i start JBoss 4.0.0 and it does not work.
    When i start firstly the JBoss 4.0.0 then it works, but when i am going to start BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 then the last one is not working.
    I wonder if there are any introperability problems. Please can anybody help me?

    did you install the bpel-jboss bundle? if so the start script will start a jboss instance .. and therefor the second one might not come up (port conflicts?)

  • Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi everyone!
    I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.
    I'll be waiting your responses.

    Thanks for your responses.
    Greetings.

    Hi,
    you said:
    it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres
    What do you mean with older than 1023 chars?
    I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem...

  • BPEL Process Manager Olite not starting.

    Hi,
    We have recently installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2 with Jdeveloper. The problem is that I am not able to start BPEL server. It gives following message and stops there itself.

    It should lauch another command prompt window for starting the BPEL oracle lite process manager. But its not. Does anyone know whether its a permission issue or anything else.

    No idea, but is there a reason to use 10.1.2? Why not step over to 10.1.3.

  • Problem with Oracle Lite 4.0.3.0.0 (BPEL Process Manager)

    during the installation of Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Lite (4.0.3.0.0) is installed by default, so i've decided to go with it.
    however when i tried to create a database connection thru the wizard it says:
    unable to find driver: oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver
    i need to be able to do this because i want to use the database adapter as a partner-link.
    how do i fix this? what do i have to do so that it can locate this driver
    there's no problem using the command-line 'msql'
    please help!

  • Help needed in oracle 11g soa suite.........(BPEL Process manager)

    we tried to download bpel process manager 11g but as per oracle it is under Oracle Fusion Middleware 11gR1 so we have downloaded the same also.....*
    but the problem is agter installation we are not getting anuthing called oracle bpel process manager and also we are not able to run soa suite..........*
    Can you please suggest how we can install the same or is there any other way so that we can run bpel process manager.*

    Hi,
    Download SOA 11.1.1.2.0 from OTN.
    1. Don't forget to download RCU (Repository Configuration Utility). It is an extractable zip folder. Extract it. Navigate to its bin folder. Invoke rcu.sh/rcu.bat. It will open RCU. Choose Create. Enter your db details. In the next screen, choose SOA Infrastructure schema. Provide a schema prefix. Default would be 'DEV'. Proceed with further steps.
    2. After installing 11gR1, navigate to your $ORACLE_HOME/common/bin
    Invoke config.sh/config.cmd based on your OS. This will open the configuration wizard.
    Choose create domain option. Enter the domain name. Select the templates: SOA Suite and Enterprise Manager. In the JDBC Datasources screen, enter the SOA schema information, db details. Complete the wizard. No need to customize anything else. This will create a SOA Domain.
    3. Run the setNMProps.sh/cmd from $MW_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin folder.
    4. Navigate to $MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/server/bin. Execute startNodeManager.sh/cmd. This will start the node manager.
    5. Now navigate to your $DOMAIN_HOME. You will be able to find startWeblogic.cmd/sh file. Execute it. This will start your Admin Server.
    6. Once the server started, login to WLS Admin Console (http://host:7001/console). Navigate to Servers. Click on Control tab. Select soa_server1. Start the server.
    This will start the SOA server. To test your soa is up, access the url http://host:8001/soa-infra
    There is no BPEL Console/ ESB Console / OWSM console in 11g. Everything is managed from your EM. EM url would be http://host:admin_server_port/em (http://host:7001/em)

  • What BPEL process manager ?

    We are using Oracle database 11g and were planing to use Oracle workflow, but later found that workflow will not be supported anymore, So the question is , can BPEL process manager be used in place of Oracle Workflow ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You my dear friend are in a much better position now 'coz you can make a choice!
    Well, these past two months I'd been working on a project involving migration of an enterprise application's core framework from Oracle WorkFlow to BPEL and believe me it has been a major pain in the neck. But, you may or may not face these problems depending upon whether most of your business processes are synchronous or asynchronous in nature. Plus, migrations are never supposed to be easy! Isn't it? ;)
    Anyways, when our App was using OWF all our interactions were basically synchronous Java calls to PL/SQL procedures. So, anytime an exception occured all we had to do was invoke a rollback and our App was back in a consistent state. But, while migrating to BPEL, we started facing troubles in mapping our synchronous business processes to asynchronous BPEL processes mostly in handling exceptional cases where we wished we could push an exception back to the Java client.
    But, I think we mostly faced problems due to the migration limitations listed below that we had and which you probably would not be having as you would be designing your processes to use BPEL from the scratch:
    1. We couldn't have used synchrous BPEL processes as they all had to create HumanTasks which is a long running activity that may take days to complete.
    2. As we were migrating the core framework and not the App itself we were not supposed to change our App code that in most of the cases was assuming that the underlying workflow engine calls are synchronous in nature.
    Things are pretty stable now but we still find ourselves finding workarounds to put the App in sync with what has happened within BPEL. So, it's certainly doable but it's not as easy as it sounds esp. the migrations! ;)
    I hope my experience helps you out in taking a better call.
    Cheers,
    Ravi

  • What can Interconnect do better than the BPEL process manager

    I would like to know which integrations problems can be best done with Interconnect and which with the BPEL process manager. It seems to me that the BPEL process manager can do just the same.
    Is this true?

    Hi,
    In my opinion BPEL can do more than Interconnect.
    Yes they have overlap.
    From my opinion Interconnect is used as a data-interface tool. where Bpel has more functions to create and start processes, work easily with services. Sure a data interface can be build in BPEL (the Oracle one to be specific), and there should be nothing wrong with it.
    And from a support point of view you want to have 1 tool to maintain instead of 2.
    My guess is that Interconnect, and the solutions build with it, will eventually dissapear into the BPEL process manager.

  • BPEL Process Manager Oracle BPEL Domain Initialization Failed

    I was able to login into BPEL Process Manager without any error. Then I changed one entry in the oc4j-ra.xml file and restarted the BPEL server and started getting the error message.
    Oracle BPEL Domain Initialization Failed
    The Oracle BPEL Domain default did not initialize successfully. The following error was detected during startup. Please contact the Oracle Support
    Team if you are not able to resolve this problem.
    Reported Error:
    Cannot lookup jdbc datasource.
    The process domain was unable to lookup the TX datasource "eis/DB/DBConnection1".
    Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Additionally check that the
    connection pool properties as defined in the application server startup
    properties are valid.
    I put back the original oc4j-ra.xml back in appropriate dir , restarted the BPEL server and database server still getting the same errro message listed above, It's urgent can anybody post the possible solution/suggestion experience.
    Thanks

    I opened the file under
    ./application-deployments/default/DbAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml and it has the following entry
    <connector-factory location="eis/DB/DBConnection1" connector-name="Database Adapter">

    <connection-pooling use="none">
    </connection-pooling>

    </security-config>
    </connector-factory>
    I opened that file (
    ./connectors/DbAdapter/DbAdapter/META-INF/oc4j-ra.xml) and it has no entry for
    <connector-factory location="eis/DB/DBConnection1" connector-name="Database Adapter">

    <connection-pooling use="none">

    <security-config use="none">

    So I entered this and restarted the BPEL PM but still no luck,
    Is anything else I will be looking in that file let me know

  • Oracle BPEL process Manager Full Cycle Error

    Background introduction:
    This is my first time install SOA, Database Server and JDeveloper in my laptop (I am not sure whether they can be installed in one machine). It seems like the installation didn't pass the Web Services Verification. I hope this won't influence other services in my SOA.
    Problem:
    When I put my username and password in the BPEL Manager Console window, it let me passed it. And then there is a box let me put in the Domain.
    Then this error jump out:
    I hope some one can help me on this.

    An unexpected error has occurred while executing your request. This is most likely related to a defect in the Oracle BPEL Process Manager product. We apologize you can post the error to the OTN forum and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
