I get this error when starting the OIM design console
Error Keyword: DAE.CLIENT_NOT_BOUND
Description: Database client has not bound to the server-side database object. Either the client database object has never bound to the server-side database object, or the server-side database object is no longer accessible.
Remedy: Attempt to login again. If this fails, contact your system adminstrator.

Hi,
Please add to your hosts file where you are running the DC the following entries:
<ip of oim server> <fqdn of server> <hostname>
<ip of DB server> <fqdn of server> <hostname>

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

There are steps required when installing the design console to generate an appropriate jar file to be used. I would point you to the appropriate link online for the documentation, but it appears to be unavailable at the moment. I would suggest going back through the steps to install the design console and make sure you followed them all correctly.

Closing the Design Console and re-launching produces similar errors. I must stop and restart the JBOSS server to get access again. My environment is Windows 2003 with JBOSS and an 11g database.
Any help on what to look for would be appreciated.

You are correct. If you pre-populate, it will be the requester. The requester would need to manually populate the field during the request with the requestee information. And there is only one form available. You can however, after submission of the request, get the request data, parse the Consolidated Request Data to determine the id's in the request field, and then return appropriate responses to trigger the tasks needed. This will still be a problem in the long run because you can't change the requestee information for each approval task. You're pretty much out of luck on this one.

I'm not in a LAN and I don't have the client installed.
I don't know the user systems for Designer, I prooved with the SYSTEM anad SYS user but I cant access to the product.
Do I requiere the client?. Do I require connecting to the server Database?.

I had this problem the best thing to do is make sure you have the Blackdown.org JDK116_v5 for Linux installed. Then:
JAVA_HOME=/somedirectory/jdk116_v5
export JAVA_HOME
This fixed the problem for me and I was able to run runIns.sh.

Problem with Design Console configuration - please help

Dear All,
I am trying to configure design console. It is installed on Windows XP and should point to remote server. I am getting the following error on OIM Server and Port screen:
INST-07057: Error in validating the Hostname field value. Entered host is not up and running
Make sure that the host is up and running
But host is up and running. I can ping it successfully and oim admin interface is working. I suspect this is permission issue.
If you can help me to resolve this I would appreciate it very much.

Problem starting design studio

Hello to all,
Installed BAM 10.1.2.1 on Windows 2000 server. All services start OK and Oracle BAM start page works fine. When I try and start the design studio I get the following error:
"VBA initialization failed"
and then
"failed to create empty document"
Any ideas ,

Something apparently went wrong with the Enterprise Link install. Please try the newly available BAM 10.1.3.1, which is downloadable from OTN.

You should not encounter this problem with BAM 10.1.3.1.

Problem starting Designer

Hi,
In my setup I need to connect to the client VPN and reach the CMS server host via a jumphost. The CMS server is not visible to the external world.
I am trying to forward the ports(6400/8090/6401-6405 as per LINK: [FORUM|BO XI 3.1 Install Problems; ). I can access the CMS and in infoView logon page. However I am not able to connect the designer to the repository. It is giving communication error:
"Cannot access the repository. (USR0013), [repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed (Transport error: Communication Failure. (hr=#0x80042a01)"
I have tried the steps provided on the earlier forum link however that did not help.

Hi,
I had the same issue.
Where the BOE server was behind a firewall and the clent tools was installed ouside the firewall.
At first the client server/pc did not have a static IP address and so we opened the ports on the BOE Server and we where able to connect but still got the error message.
To resolve this issue was to assign the Clinet server/pc a static IP address and open all the Ports to that IP address and you will also need to add the BOE server ip address and name into the Client server/pc "HOST" file. (\windows\system32\driver\host)

Problem starting Admin server console

hi guys,
i have problem starting my console server. The error msg is
" cannot connect to admin server http://simple.cwmgroup.org:390. The URL is not correct or server is not running."
i had earlier used :
/usr/sbin/ directoryserver start command to start directory server and
/usr/sbin/mpsadmserver start to start the admin server and finally tried
usr/sbin/mpsadmserver startconsole and it seems not to be working (but used to).
And i 'm very sure the url is correct and the server is also running b/c i v been using the comand successfully b/4.
guys what can i do to get it working? can anyone hlp?

TROUBLE WITH DESIGN CONSOLE

Hi,
I have newly installed OIM 9101. When i start the server and try opening design console after entering the credentials its through some exceptions and getting closed automatically. i tried checking the logs but there are no errors in that too. I'm able to login admin console and work. My app server is JBOSS 4.2.3 GA

You need to copy the files from the linux box to a windows box and change the startup paramaters to meet that of a Windows machine.

I have successfully installed OIM Server (Windows Server 2003 Oracle 10.2,JBoss-4.2.3.GA).
I am having problems with Design Console installation as I can't start it due to the following exception:

Go to OIM_CLIENT_HOME/OIMClient/xlclient/java/lib and search for "rt.jar" . I think this jar is meesing.

You need to m ake sure that the t3 URL used is that of the managed server.
For example for input:
[Enter serverURL :[ t3://localhost:7001 ]]
Enter the hostname and port of the server running OIM.
Like this: Example: t3://localhost:99292

Error while starting OIM admin and design console

Hi all,
I have OIM 9.10.2 deployed on Jboss 4.2.3GA with oracle 10g as database.Installation was successfull and after that we tried some simple use cases on that.
This time after starting Jboss it gave an error "Network Adapter cannot be connected".
It came because RMI port was in use and because of the change in IP Address,we changed both of them.
changed RMI port in jboss-service.xml
changed IP address to Host name in xlconfig.xml,jboss.profile.xml and xell-ds.xml files
But now when we run server and try to access the consoles we get the following errors -
Admin console error - OIM admin page opens stating the error "System error was encountered"
Design console error - Oracle Identity Manager Design console could not allow you log in
Diagnostic dashboard error - Invalid username or password ( i m sure of the id and pwd )

I checked both the files you mentioned both of them are correct.Changed the RMI port in jboss-service.xml to its original value.Still I am facing the same error :(

Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

Hi everyone!
I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.

I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem...
