Problem starting iPhone development
I've been following the iPhone developer program user guide step by step, and up until the "Adding Devices" step, everything has gone well.
My problem starts at the step labelled "Installing OS X iPhone"...
I acquired my iPhone 3G just after the July 11th launch, and it came with iPhone Software 2.0 installed, of course, specifically version 5A345. Now the developer guide says to "Download the OS X iPhone Disk Image (.dmg) from the iPhone Dev Center for the Apple device you are using. ", but there is no longer any link to an iPhone Disk Image on the dev center site, I assume because the 2.0 software is now no longer a special download.
The guide indicates that you must use Xcode to detect the iPhone and set it to "Use for Development", which I can do. But then it goes on to give instructions for installing the 2.0 software by restoring the phone using the downloaded iPhone 2.0 disk image, which isn't available off the dev site.
So, a couple of questions:
1. Since my iPhone 3G already has version 2.0 (5A345) of OS X iPhone installed, do I need to "restore" to a different version of the 2.0 software?
2. If so, is the version I need 5A347? Or is it some special development-only version of the software?
I should mention that in my search on the internet for a solution, I read that you could go from version 5A345 to 5A347 of the 2.0 software by using iTunes 7.7 and hitting the Restore button. I tried this, but I get an error message saying:
"Software for this iPhone is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and try again."
I do have the latest version of iTunes, and I'm a little disturbed that I can't upgrade to the very latest version of the 2.0 software this way. But maybe it isn't needed.
I would prefer not to do something bad and corrupt or brick my iPhone, so if anyone knows what I'm missing or if I can continue without worrying, I'd love some kind of assistance.

5A345 is the version of the final beta of the iPhone 2.0 software and is what most (if not all) iPhone 3Gs shipped with.
5A347 is the "latest" version and is what original iPhone users that did not participate in the beta received when the iPhone 2.0 software became available.
The SDK instructions are outdated, and the instructions to install a DMG from the development site are no longer needed. Just use the standard iPhone 2.0 software.
5A345 is tagged as being "equivalent" to 5A347 through iTunes, so it's not likely that you need 5A347. However I have spoken with people who have been told by Apple support to upgrade to 5A347 in an attempt to fix a problem they were having. If you want to run 5A347, simply do a a "force restore" on your iPhone 3G: (1) ensure your device is not connected to your computer; (2) turn off your iphone; (3) launch iTunes; (4) press and hold the "home" button on your iPhone while connecting the device to the computer using the cable; (5) iTunes should detect a device in "recovery mode" and offer to download and install the latest version of the iPhone software. Note that your device will be erased, so ensuring that you have a backup before hand is probably a good idea.

Problems Starting SQL developer

I'm new to using oracle through Lynx.
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx.
I have installed Oracle 11g R1.
I have successfully installed oracle, created and connected to the DB. I have exported HR and OE schemas from a windows machine and imported to my Lynx based database successfully.
So Oracle is working correctly though SQLplus.
My problem is when I start using SQLDeveloper.
When I go to "/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/sqldeveloper"; and run the sqldeveloper.sh it seems to open fine, I see the GUI.
My problem is that we I try to create a new connection I am getting errors.
The GUI says: The network adaptor could not establish a connection.
Whereas the terminal states...

lsnrctl statusOracle can work fine via SQLPlus locally, but if services are not visible via listener you can't connect to database from client like SQLDeveloper.
Your GUI started so it's not a problem of your java - it's rather something missing in your database installation. -
Problem starting SQL Developer
Hi,
i have a little bit confusing problem on a Virtual Machine.
I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 (32-bit) as a Virtual Machine. On this machine i have two different versions of the SQL Developer:
- SQL Developer 1.0.0.15.57
- SQL Developer 2.1.
When i try to start the sqldeveloper.exe for SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.39 i get the following error message:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.
The funny thing is, when i start the SQL Developer 1.0.0.15.57 everything works fine.
Which permission need to be set that i can start the SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.39 or do anyone have other solutions for this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

If that didn't work, I'd say it might be related to the settings, which are now stored under the (hidden) Application Data of your Windows profile. See that you have permissions there.
You can also run from \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe, to see if you get any exceptions or more info in the opened console.

Cs5 iphone development viability
This question is not intended to start any derogatory attack on any particular solution. I have done plenty of googling to try and find the best solution for this. However I wanted to start iPhone development and was looking for some good opinions on the best way to go with this. I know to give the most precise answer the specific type of development is needed, I am just trying to get a more general answer for a basic business or game development, nothing super high end either side, but any opinions are welcome.
Hopefully obviously I would like to use cs5 on windows to do this, however I really wanted some opinions with people with experience to know if I really need to bite the bullet and go an os-x/xcode approach or other option, if CS5 is a solid approach. Further, and I can’t seem to find a solid declaration of Adobe’s direction with the CS5 packager.I was on the same path that you just went through (and are going through now). There are a number of routes you can follow (as far as I know)
-HTML 5/Javascript/Ajax integration (for example, sencha)
-.Net style (example, monoTouch)
-Adobe CS5 (Flash iPhone Packager)
-Airplay and the ilk (coding on windows)
-and of course, xCode.
I think all the others except Adobe CS5 is quite ahead of the game in terms of featuresets and performance.
Unfortunately of course the decision would be to abandon the actionscript coding language (which I like...a lot).

Im having major problems syncing my iphone 4 to itunes, this problem started after upgrading to ios 5. I have upgraded my itunes, turned sync by wifi on and off but still nothing. Everytime I try to sync my iphone it just says sync cancelled. Please help.....

Hi, I upgraded my iphone 4 (4.3.3) to iso 5 beta 6, but now it shows "No Service" at top left, and unable to complete your activation. Also tells that "this device is not registered as part of the iphone developer programme." How could I fix this problem? Please help me...,
I had a similar occurrence with my just activated iPhone 4.
I had been using the phone for three days when an odd occurrence with voice mail caused me to call tech support. After some discussion they decided to push the activation to my phone (even though I had been using it for three days). When I went to power it back up again I repeatedly got the "no service" notification. I got tech support on a land line and we tried hard reboots and so on. No joy. They told me to take it in to the point of sale and either the SIM card or the phone needed (or both) needed replacing.
I tried one last hard reboot after dinner and the phone came up with service, but I took it in to the point of sale in the morning and they swapped the SIM card out and I went to a Genius Bar appointment to get the phone checked out. It is supposedly OK, but I am still having some problems when syncing it so I will have to visit the Genius Bar again tomorrow about that. At least I have not experienced the "no service" problem in the roughly 24 hours since the SIM card was replaced. (Fingers crossed) -
I am having problems with my outlook 2011. While i am able to check and SEND email on all my other devices ( Ipad, iphone, Macbook), I am unablesend any email with my iMac ( i can recieve email) . This problem started suddenly and the error message i get is error 5.7.8. I have read the threads on line and went into settings, even created a new profile, nothing helps...Please advice..is this something to do with my keychain Access?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I cannot start SQL Developer in Fedora Core 5 Linux Enviroment. I do not know what exactly is the problem. so Please see the Snap shot the Problem. It Refrains from inspite of it showing as if to Open. On windows it works fine.

Sydney.I had a problem getting it to run in Ubuntu when launching from an XFCE launcher. Basically the file sqldeveloper doesn't work. What I did was to copy sqldeveloper to SQLDeveloper, change the ./ to the full path ( in my case /home/username/sqldeveloper/ ), then launch SQLDeveloper instead of sqldeveloper. Then it all worked fine.

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!! -
Problem: my iPhone 4S (1yr old) has started buzzing for no apparent reason. I cannot stop it or turn the thing off. The screen is black and does not respond to touch. Any suggestions?
