i completed technical information and when i am entering full installations...
First i am selecting the device category but not able to enter the new device, i have to put the serial no.
When i am about to save, there is no specification for the material or the device category
can any one help me

please be aware that IS-U always uses the serial number and the device category (material) to identify the device on the screens - not the equipment number. Please be also aware, that the FULL installation EG31 does the other both in one step. So either use EG31 OR use EG33 + EG34 !!! AND, if you are using device info records, you cannot install them technically at all!

How to reinstall Mavericks using full installer

I have a Mac mini (late 2012) that came with Mountain Lion.
I upgraded to Mavericks last year by downloading the full installer (5+GB).
I noticed just now that I don't have a recovery partition because when I hit CMD+R
at boot time it only shows internet recovery and I can't use that because
I have no way to use wi-fi or ethernet. If I hit "option" at boot time it only
shows one hard drive.
(I tether my iPhone to my Mac mini via USB for internet)
My disk drive has two partitions and SMART status is normal.
Is this possible:
1. Download OS X Mavericks from the App Store.
2. Double-click on it and reinstall the operating system.
Can it work?

It won't work from the App Store.
Reinstalling Mavericks requires OS X Recovery.
"In order to reinstall OS X, you need to be connected to the Internet over an Ethernet or Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi menu is in the upper-right corner of the screen. Click the icon to select from available Wi-Fi networks. Choose your preferred network name and, if needed, enter a username and/or password. " From here > OS X Recovery
Tethering from an iOS device won't work.
OS X Recovery requires a broadband connection.

I have a dual monitor setup with my macbook which is connected to my TV a Insignia NS-LCD47HD-09 model. +When I play flash videos in full screen on my lcd they come in all choppy and unsmooth.+ This problem developed all of a sudden and I have played flash videos on my lcd in the past with no issues, I dont know what changed. I've noticed these flash videos play all smooth on my macbook in fullscreen but not on my lcd. I have tried flash videos form many diffrent sites and have this same problem, also other formats divx for example dont have this problem. A flash video will play all smooth in the regular view and when i make it full screen it gets all choppy without fail on my tv.
I should also say I have the most up-to-date flash player 10, and have tried unistalling it and doing it again, as well as tried putting flash player 9 & 8 on my computer which dont seem to work at all. I have also tried to mess with the displays under system prefrences and am using a 1920X1080 on my lcd with 59.9ghz, none of my other potions seem to make a diffrence.
I have tried everything i can think of and tried to find other fourms for this problem and I just cant figure it out.... Please help, this has been really been bugging me.

Hmm, you may be onto something regarding the repair permissions thing. The authorization issue is happening when even putting together a movie that has more than one song from itms (and if you go to trim it, you end up in an endless loop between iMovie and iTunes— FUN!). I did report it as a bug however. One other person in that thread was able to duplicate the issue at an Apple store on one of their machines. One would assume they go through the steps you do before installing software (assume tht is).

Remove MS Office 2011 completely (here are instructions) and reinstall it.
It's not a simple or fast process but it is important to follow all of the steps in order to get all the files that Office scatters around. This will not affect your data files, only MS Office and its preferences.

Problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT

I have problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT (PSK30E-02T002B3) with no OS preinstalled.
I do the following:
1. Install Windows 7 x64, SP1.
2. Install LAN driver (device was not recognized by Windows 6) (downloaded from [http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=SE&LNG=26&userAction=S MP_RESULTS_PAGE&partNumber=PSK30E-02T002B3&serialNumber=&USER_ACTION=Serial%20number])
3. Install all Windows Updates from Microsoft
4. Run Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 - it installs a couple of drivers and then asks to reboot.

You are right this notebook model was delivered without OS.
Win7 64bit is supported for this notebook model and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on Toshiba download page.
What I can say is that all this stuff must be installed in right install order. I know it sounds stupid now but I recommend you to make clean OS again and continue installation following this installation order:

Problem with jdbc oci in oracle full installation

My server has Oracle 10g R2 in full installation, and not run jdbc in oci,
my java command:
/usr/java/jre1.5.0_07/bin/java -Dlibrary.path=/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/lib -cp ... mypackage.myclass
and its says:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/lib/libocijdbc10.so: /oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/lib/libocijdbc10.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
but this file [ libocijdbc10.so ] there is in the path... however the file [ libclnstsh.so.10.1 ] not...
what is the problem ?

I have recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0. I am now unable to use full screen mode when watching you tube. i've never had this problem before.

i can't think of anything else to add. i've always been able to use full screen mode in firefox, it still works on vimeo and it still works on NEtflix..

What happens when you try to use full screen mode -- button is ineffective, video doesn't display, etc.?
By the way, Adobe has issued a couple of security updates recently, so you might want to update your Flash plugin.

"file corrupt" error message when running full installer - normal installer won't work either.

I was having serious problems displaying images/video, so uninstalled so I could reinstall. Big mistake - ever since I've done this, FF absolutely won't install. The normal install .EXE(I'm using Windows 7) always gets to about a millimeter to the left in the status bar of where it crosses from "downloading" to "installing." I then tried the full installer in all 3 versions of English, all of which simply pop up a window saying "file is corrupt" with no explanation or options. Please help. I work from home and absolutely have to use FF as my browser for my job, and I'm missing an entire shift today because of it. Thanks!

The printer is being used on the desktop as a network printer. Windows Firewall is turned off. Office uses Trend Micro Antivirus. Able to use full features like digital fax, print, scanning only when Trend Micro Office Scan is offloaded. Printer was taking dynamic port so created Standard/TCP-IP port created. Even this did not solve the problem. Trend Micro administrators say the port is open. Not sure if anything particularly needs to be allowed by Trend Micro. Spoke with HP support system over phone. They are also not sure what is to be done rectify the problem.

Here is a list of the ports that needs to be unblocked. Hopefully this will help.

Performance problems using BPM

Hello all,
We have Request/Reply interface using the JMS adapter towards the SAP R/3 system.
So the interface has 3 steps :
1. Request from JMS adapter - Asynchronous
2. Request/Reply using RFC adapter towards the R/3 - sync
3. Reply to JMS adapter - Asynchronous
we are using the BPM to merge all those steps, but between step 1 to 2 it waits about 4 seconds (we can monitor the message at SM58 for 2-3 seconds).
Its a problem for us because we exceed the time for the Request/reply at the MQ (which is connected to the JMS adapter).
Does someone has any idea ?

We looked into this and given your details provided
regarding the query executed and the fact that this
problem shows up over thin network connections, we
believe you may be hitting one/both of Bug 2658196
and Bug 1844184.
To summarise, regardless of whether you use version
control or not, Designer must check version details
for each repository object acted on.
On a local machine or LAN, this does not present a
problem, but on a WAN, this does, due the amount of
(albeit individually small) packets of information
sent backwards and forwards between the client and
the repository.
Unfortunately, Oracle Designer was never designed to
run across a WAN. To attempt to get the performance
required would involve a re-design and re-write of a
large part of the Design Editor. I'm afraid this is
not really a practical option.
Other customers have also run into this problem. They
have found that using a third party product, such as,
Tarantella solves the problem. Products like Tarantella
enable clients to use central installations of Designer
with better results than using a locally installed copy.

Could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine (Win 7)

Was running the lastest version of Photoshop CS5 and added a second quad graphics card and 4 more monitors. Now PS will not start and I get the error message "could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine."
Computer has 2 NIVDIA Quadro4 NVS420 graphics boards with 8 Samsung SyncMaster 1920x1080 monitors. If I disable 4 of the monitors CS5 starts normally. I do not have to remove the added graphics card. When I extend the desktop again to all 8 monitors I get the error above.
How do I trouble-shoot the problem? Is it Photoshop, NIVDIA or Windows 7?

Well, not exactly a full solution yet (at least for my setup), but I am certain now that this issue is (mostly) caused by nVidia's drivers. You may be able to fix your setup by simply installing the latest drivers for your NVS420 cards (266.45 for Win 7/64 rel. 01/12/2011).
Since you are using two identical cards, this could do the trick.
Caveats - Make sure you:
1. Select Custom Install, the Express Install will most likely not work properly.
2. Unselect the Audio Driver (if available), the nVidia HD(MI) Audio driver could
screw up your speech recognition (if you use it) or other audio software - it did for me.
3. Select Clean Install. If you don't, files like C:\Windows\System32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
and several other driver related files will not be overwritten, causing all sorts of neat effects.
4. After the Install is complete, reboot your system whether the Installer prompts you or not.
After testing various configurations, disabling two - six of my eight monitors I am at this point:
I am now using nVidia's lastest and greatest piece of crap (read driver), version 266.58, released just two days ago. After an initial snag with maximized windows extending to the bottom of the main monitor (underneath the taskbar), a re-install & reboot solved that issue.
All three driver versions tested (260.89, 260.99, 266.58) now allow me to start PhotoShop without any problems; providing I first disable the two monitors fed by my onboard graphics (nVidia 780a based), leaving me with six monitors connected to three GTS-450 cards. I can even re-enable the two other monitors once the program is open, and it continues to work fine. However, I must disconnect them again for the next start of PhotoShop.
On an interesting side note:
After disabling six monitors (leaving only two on a GTS-450), I was also able to open and run SoundBooth CS5, which previously would not open, citing the audio driver as the problem. After sucessfully starting SoundBooth I could re-enable all six other monitors (incl. onboards),
and that program now opens and works fine with all 8 monitors connected. [ODD !!!]
Other than Adobe Software, I've had only one other issue with my setup:
When playing online poker at PokerStars, occasionally and quite randomly one of multiple tables would freeze up. I'll try disabling the two onboard monitors for that program as well to see whether the random freezes stop.
Overall, while I think that Adobe produces fine software and nVidia has been in need of an overhaul for quite some time now, I also think that Adobe and nVidia software engineers need to work more closely together to ensure that problems like this don't arise in the first place after a product has been released to the public. IMHO, this is avoidable!

Urgent-need authorware 7 FULL installer

Hi all:
Evidently Macromedia no longer makes the FULL installer for
Authorware 7 - I need this player FULL installer to help a customer
who is using it. Can someone please give me the link or email me
the player - I need this asap.... By the FULL installer I am
referring to the one that creates the AW70, AW65, AW50, AW40 etc
folders all at once when you install it under
windows\system32\macromed\authorwa\np32asw folder...... Please make
certain yours does this before emailing me back... On the Adobe
site, it doesn't install those folders above and I need to
experiment with the specific player installer I mention and not the
newest one.....

Your frustration is somewhat understandable, but you're
letting it get
in the way of working out the problem...or you just don't
grasp the way
identifying the web player works in an HTML document (which,
if true,
you really should put some effort into understanding).
When you web package an Authorware application, a 'parent'
HTML document
is created. In OBP, you choose what player you want the HTML
to attempt
to download to the user if that player does not exist on
their system.
In Authorware 7 you can, of course, choose the Full Player,
which then
adds the 'codebase' for that player to the HTML document.
The codebase contains a link to where that player is located
on
Macromedia's (Adobe's) server. If you copy/paste that link to
your
browser address bar, you can download it just as you would
any other file.
To spare you further frustration, this is the codebase link

ODAC 11.10.7: Problems running Post-installation SQL Scripts"

I am running the 32-bit version of 11g Release 1.
I installed ODAC version 11.10.7. The installation was completed without error but advised to run the SQL scripts found in OracleHome\ASP.net\SQL.
I logged in using SYS account and tried to execute the SQL file, InstallAllOracleASPNETProviders.SQL which calls other SQL scripts:

The first SQL was executed without any error.
However, I received the following error with the second file:

The offending line has a reference to a function:

Can someone advise on what needs to be done?

I did not have any Macromedia file in syetem 32 when I last replied to your question. I had uninstalled FP 11.8, but my embedded FP on Windows 8 was (and is) still showing in Control Panel Items but did not and does not appear when checking version on the Adobe Find Version page.
Before reading your last reply, I did UNinstall 11.8 and then installed flashplayer_11_7_plugin_debug (FP 11.7.700.232).
This NOW shows up as Shockwave Flash ver. 11.7.700.232 in mozilla add-ons manager and is listed in system32 as a folder: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed with many files in the folder.
The Flash Player 11.7.700.232 worked on Mozilla FF 22.0 for several hours before not being able to play some flash content and then crashed. An odd window kept appearing while trying to use it, I did not copy the test of it, but will try and reproduce the problem, and copy and post the text here in a further discussion box on our discussion. A subsequent check to Adobe Find Version page shows that FP 11.7.700.232 is CURRENTLY installed and functoning. But it still does not play all Flash content that I encounter on the internet.
I did NOT use the Adobe Full Installer to install Flash Player 11.7.700.232, I simply downloaded the file to desktop and manually installed it off line.
If I DO need to uninstall FP 11.7.700.232, and reinstall it using the Adobe Full Installer, please tell me in detail how because I thought that the Full Installer had a different version of FP in it.
What I mean is, if I download and run the Full Installer, is that also simultaneously installing a different version of FP? Or do I run it and THEN install FP 11.7.700.232?

Feedback: The Downloaders vs Full Installs

I have a lot of feedback. I downloaded the Flash and Reader downloaders/installers for an XP SP3 system that I'm setting up for someone. Flash went fine, but Reader "failed to initialize" or something along those lines. I noticed that it deleted the "installer" that I downloaded immediately when I executed it. So, when it bombed, I had to go back to my browser and go back to the website to redownload the installer/downloader. That is stupid. So I downloaded it again and started it. It was downloading incredibly slow, so I decided to look for a full download that I could download with my accelerator in Firefox. It took a little work to dig up a full installer. That is stupid. I then downloaded the full installer and had it on the desktop before the other downloader/installer was even at 60%. It had been running the entire time that I was looking for and downloading the full installer. So it was quicker to locate (not easy) and then download a full installer than it was to use your typical downloader. The full installer came down at around 600 KB/s with acceleration, which is less than 1/5 of my bandwidth. Most files saturate my connection with acceleration if the host can keep up. That's pretty weak for a large company like Adobe in my opinion. The file was just under 50MB, so it didn't take too long, but I was surprised at how slow it downloaded. In the end, the full downloader worked great and is what I expect to get when I download software. I thought I would leave some feedback about how I despise the downloader. I figured if I rated my experience as 1 out of 5 stars and clicked on "NO" that I did not accomplish what I intended, that I would be presented a text box to provide feedback. Nope, it just thanked me for my "limited" feedback. I couldn't find any way whatsoever to leave feedback other than to register for these forums and make a post. The forums don't display the way that a typical forum displays. I'm not even sure this will "post" and be in the right area. Either way, I'm aggravated with the entire experience and I'm determined to leave feedback even if I have to register an account and figure out how to do it. I wouldn't even be installing Reader if this wasn't someone else's PC. I personally use something much lighter for reading a PDF.
Anyway, to recap or "TLDR":
The downloaders suck.
It's pretty weak, in my opinion, that a company as large as Adobe has to resort to bundling garbage with their "downloaders". On top of that, the McAfee garbage is opt-out instead of opt-in. Turns me away from Adobe personally.
Finding a full download requires too much work.
The full downloaders are slow to download.
There is no easy way to leave feedback, pathetic. Adobe clearly isn't interested in hearing from users.
I had to register an account and attempt to use these "forums" to leave feedback.
I'm sure the downloader situation has been discussed before. However, since these aren't typical forums, I was unable to find an existing discussion to add to, so I created a new topic. At least I think I did.

You were correct to start a new topic. However, this is mostly a user-to-user forum, so your feedback will not really go to Adobe.
Most of the forum regulars despise the "download helpers" that delete themselves and try tricking users into downloading 3rd-party software. But there is nothing we can do about it, except posting the download locations of the offline installers (at least a dozen times every day here in the Reader forum and the Flash Player forum). So these installers are actually quite easy to find.
