Problem using 'the current day' attribute in a rule
Hi,
I have encountered an issue where the following two rules, (the second rule in word document table as best I can depict) will not compilewill not compile:
the current time of day = ExtractTimeOfDay(the current time)
|the earliest start date time available to the applicant |
|___________________________________________________________|
|AddHours(the current time, 48) | the application is premium for output |
|__________________________|________________________________|

variable_timeofday[the current time of day]
The two errors I am getting are :
Error after 'the current time of day = ExtractTimeOfDay('. Found: 'the current time)'. Expected: expression, variable, constant
Error after 'AddHours('. Found: 'the current time, 48)'. Expected: expression, variable, constant
I encountered this while compling with OPA version 10.1.1.19. It compiles successfully with version 10.1.0.27, however.
Any help would be very welcome.

The compile errors you are getting imply that you do not have 'the current time' defined as a variable. If 'the current time' was defined as DateTime attribute it should compile correctly and 'the current time of day' would result in the extracted time. However, the attribute 'the current time' doesn't really make sense in this instance i.e. it implies just time rather than date and time).

I am using the 30-day trial and have 4 days left. I've been reading other users strings as well and have tried their tricks as well. For instance, Eric Martin re: his deleting preference files (6/6), and Norman Jayo's (4/25) lengthy discourse with the "here is the work around" w/ 7 steps. Again, he mentions closing the PROJECT that is corrupted. I'm not sure that mine is corrupt as I can play and see my 15-minute audio/view in the view module (upper right).

so that the current day always shows on top? ie, I want to always be able to see what's in the future 3-4 weeks, not what's in the past 3-4 weeks. The default monthly display is archaic--only allows you to see through the last day of the month. Suddenly today
is Oct. 30th, and I have a ton of projects lined up in November, but because I haven't been scrolling down every day, I haven't been aware of them every day. I realize there are other tools in Microsoft to help me stay on task, such as reminders and such,

Right, I already have it in Month view. My question is a little more specific--I'd like for the current day to always display at the top. For example, today is Oct. 31st, so the current day is at the bottom of the calendar since it is the last day of the month.

If there is no solution to this answer, would you know how I can contact Outlook to provide feedback? I'm guessing a newer version is on its way...

Cannot print due to a problem with the current printer
Cannot print (anymore) due to a problem with the current printer is the message I get every time I try to print something out. I tried to reinstall the printer's software, I changed the cables, but nothing happened. It seems to be something related to the printer setup utility. Any big idea on how to solve this? I was printing without problems until this afternoon. I have a HP Laserjet 1022 and sometimes I use Adobe Acrobat Writer. None is currently working.

Problem using the Write to SGL VI and Read from SGL VI
Hello Sir, I have a problem using the Write to SGL VI. When I am trying to write the captured data using DAQ board to a SGL file, I am unable to store the data as desired. There might be some problem with the VI which I am using to write the data to SGL file. I am not able to figure out the minor problem I am facing. I am attaching a zip file which contains five files.
1) Acquire_Current_Binary_Exp.vi -> This is the VI which I used to store my data using Write to SGL file.
2) Retrive_BINARY_Data.vi -> This is the VI which I used to Read from SGL file and plot it
3) Binary_Capture -> This is the captured data using (1) which can be plotted using (2) and what I observed is the plot is different and also the time scare is not as expected.
4) Unexpected_Graph.png is the unexpected graph when I am using Write to SGL and Read from SGL to store and retrieve the data.
5) Expected_Graph.png -> This is the expected data format I supposed to get. I have obtained this plot when I have used write to LVM and read from LVM file to store and retrieve the data.
I tried a lot modifying the sub VI’s but it doesn’t work for me. What I think is I am doing some mistake while I am writing the data to SGL and Reading the data from SGL. Also, I don’t know the reason why my graph is not like (5) rather I am getting something like its in (4). Its totally different. You can also observe the difference between the time scale of (4) and (5).

LABVIEW_Files.zip 552 KBAs already discussed a while ago, your binary data does not contain timing information. You need to tell it the scan rate so it can reconstruct the time axis correcty.
From the data, it seems the sample file was recorded at 0.5MHz. Take the inverse and set the time increment. Voila!
Your sample file is two column data with one colum all zero. You need to set the number of columns to two, to only get the good data in channel 1.
Your acquisition program contains unecessary FOR loops, you can remove the inner loops without change in result.
It makes no sense to convert to SGL if you initialize the shift registers with an empty DBL array. You need to initialize with an empty SGL array.
(The code could be simplified quite a bit more, but this should give you some directions).
The attached zip shows some ideas (LabVIEW 7.1).

How to use the current connection when calling db procedure ?

I have a java class that call a database procedure , now everything is going fine with me but a bit slow bcoz am openning a new connection I think it would be definitely faster if am using the current connection
so how can i re-write my code so i can use the current connection istead of defining a new connection to the DB :

You shound NOT be doing JDBC calls from your UI project. thx John & timo but u always post the same reply at the same time for my questionsTimo and I have been around long enough that we recognize the questions that have been posted 9,461,293,811 times before and know the stock answers, and know where in the documentation the answers are given. As you appear to be new to ADF, I'd strongly recommend reading the Fusion Developer's Guide (skim it once and then read in detail the parts that interest you). As I've said before, so many of the basic (and not-so-basic) concepts are covered in there. Once you've skimmed it in enough detail, then the next time you have a problem, you might not know the answer, but you'll remember, "ah, I think I read something about that before, let me check..."

Could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine (Win 7)
Was running the lastest version of Photoshop CS5 and added a second quad graphics card and 4 more monitors. Now PS will not start and I get the error message "could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine."
Computer has 2 NIVDIA Quadro4 NVS420 graphics boards with 8 Samsung SyncMaster 1920x1080 monitors. If I disable 4 of the monitors CS5 starts normally. I do not have to remove the added graphics card. When I extend the desktop again to all 8 monitors I get the error above.
How do I trouble-shoot the problem? Is it Photoshop, NIVDIA or Windows 7?Well, not exactly a full solution yet (at least for my setup), but I am certain now that this issue is (mostly) caused by nVidia's drivers. You may be able to fix your setup by simply installing the latest drivers for your NVS420 cards (266.45 for Win 7/64 rel. 01/12/2011).
Since you are using two identical cards, this could do the trick.
Caveats - Make sure you:
1. Select Custom Install, the Express Install will most likely not work properly.
2. Unselect the Audio Driver (if available), the nVidia HD(MI) Audio driver could
screw up your speech recognition (if you use it) or other audio software - it did for me.
3. Select Clean Install. If you don't, files like C:\Windows\System32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
and several other driver related files will not be overwritten, causing all sorts of neat effects.
4. After the Install is complete, reboot your system whether the Installer prompts you or not.
After testing various configurations, disabling two - six of my eight monitors I am at this point:
I am now using nVidia's lastest and greatest piece of crap (read driver), version 266.58, released just two days ago. After an initial snag with maximized windows extending to the bottom of the main monitor (underneath the taskbar), a re-install & reboot solved that issue.
All three driver versions tested (260.89, 260.99, 266.58) now allow me to start PhotoShop without any problems; providing I first disable the two monitors fed by my onboard graphics (nVidia 780a based), leaving me with six monitors connected to three GTS-450 cards. I can even re-enable the two other monitors once the program is open, and it continues to work fine. However, I must disconnect them again for the next start of PhotoShop.
On an interesting side note:
After disabling six monitors (leaving only two on a GTS-450), I was also able to open and run SoundBooth CS5, which previously would not open, citing the audio driver as the problem. After sucessfully starting SoundBooth I could re-enable all six other monitors (incl. onboards),
and that program now opens and works fine with all 8 monitors connected. [ODD !!!]
Other than Adobe Software, I've had only one other issue with my setup:
When playing online poker at PokerStars, occasionally and quite randomly one of multiple tables would freeze up. I'll try disabling the two onboard monitors for that program as well to see whether the random freezes stop.
Overall, while I think that Adobe produces fine software and nVidia has been in need of an overhaul for quite some time now, I also think that Adobe and nVidia software engineers need to work more closely together to ensure that problems like this don't arise in the first place after a product has been released to the public. IMHO, this is avoidable!

What add-ons are you wanting to migrate? Plug-ins should work, with the caveat that the Mac version is 64-bit only for CS6. So if you were running the 32-bit of CS5.5 with a 32-bit plug-in, then that won't migrate. Panel extensions might need a small modification. Scripts should work unless they specifically target CS5.5.
Are you having problems, or just trying to research before trying the beta build?

How to interpret the current day of the month
I am a rookie in java and am trying to play with the Calendar class.
The DATE static field of this class says it returns "Field number for get and set indicating the day of the month."
So, Calendar.DATE has to return the current day of the month.
Today is 7th of january. So, it should return 7. But, I am getting a value of 5.
I am very much confused. I fell that my interpretation os wrong.

Exchange mail and iphone not synchronize the current day
I've iphone 3Gs 3.1.3 and exchange 2003 SP2.
I connect to VPN router and then synchronize only the email.
I've setup push to off, syncro in manual with 3 days and the max value 200 email.
I can synchronize the email, but not there are the email of current day and last day are not all present.
I've change to 1 day synchronize but not change. Show me the email of yesterday but not current day.
I'm waiting 1 or 2 or more week and then sinchronize, but all email are download but not the current day.
Where it could be the problem?

Until i upgraded to firefox 8, when i opened a group of tabs (right click on a folder of bookmarks and open all in tabs option), it would use the current tab to as the first of the links and open the rest to the right of that tab. Now that has changed. I don't mind except for not using the tab i'm on. That is somewhat annoying, especially if that is how i browse most of the time. As the first thing i do is open a group of tabs when i start firefox, the first tab has to be closed manually as it did not before and this is annoying to me.

This bizarrely started this morning - completely out of the blue - and I've no idea why.
Setup: Mac 10.8.2 / Creative Suite Premium PhotoShop CS5 extended (patched to 12.04)
Am working on images exported from LightRoom 4 (16bit A3 Pro Photo RGB PSDs) in PhotoShop CS5.
As part of my image grading process I have a PhotoShop Action that does the following: copy layer to new document (document respects all of copied layer settings) > Image > Adjustments > HDR toning > apply a certain HDR preset > copy to resultant image back to original doc > set opacity as 40%.
Totally out of the blue, after having this action for about 2 months, this morning I start getting a warning dialog of "Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Color Engine" and the action fails. The failure seems to take place at the 'make document' part of the action and seems to somehow be related to the contents of the clipboard.
I've tried trashing and re-creating the action. It works first time out fine and then - on the next image - errors again.
At present I can only safely carry out the work 'manually' by completing all the actions myself.
I can think of no settings that have changed and the OS hasn't been updated in a while.
I have found one other thread on a similar problem in PhotoShop Elements, but no definitive solution.
Any help appreciated as I have a shedload of stuff to process.

Your 'Image > Duplicate' suggestion does seem to work. If I use that in a new action as the method for creating the HDR version doc (instead of 'Select > Copy > New > Paste), it seems to work.
Will try that out this afternoon, but for now: WIN!

WIndows 8.1 printer error: windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer set up
My HP OFFICEJET 8500 PRO was working just fine wirelessly until I installed the Windows 8.1 update from the Microsoft. Now I cannot print at all. I get an error that says, "windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer set up". I have tried reinstalling and a ton of other solutions to no avail. Can someone PLEASE Help!

Please run the Print and Scan Doctor. Write me back with the results or post a screen shot of the results and I will have a look at them.
This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

Before updating from version 7 to 8 when i went into my bookmarks, and right clicked on a folder and clicked "Open All In Tabs" it would use the current bookmark that i had open as the first of these in the folder. It would then open the folder's bookmarks to the right of that current bookmark.
I can accept that it no longer opens the group to the right of the current tab easily enough. What annoys me is that it no longer uses the current tab to open the bookmarks. I would like to know how to change this option.browser.tabs.loadFolderAndReplace

Pages app unexpectedly quit whilst I was in the middle of a document. I can now not open it AT ALL. I find it's not just that particular document that won't open, but any of my Pages docs will not open using the current version of Pages. The reports of the app unexpectedly closing each time, automatically went to Apple, but I am not sure what happens with them then. Does anyone know how to help me with this? We live in a very isolated region so rely on internet help. Thanks
I also managed to read a few other discussions about Pages and files not being able to open. I actually went to the last back-up and restored the computer from that and everything seemed to work ok again, which is great!...advice from another discussion I think you may have been involved in PeterB. Thanks for the advice...also this advice, as I will make a note of trying to open using the Shift key if it happens again and see what happens...might be an easier first option than restoring from a back-up. Thans heaps for the help!
I was interested to read some of the other discussions where it was stated that Pages '09 seems to be a better option to use. I have both installed, so I will lkeep this in mind. Thanks heaps!
