Problem viewing all_tab_columns from a package
I have a cursor within a package that refers to all_tab_columns. When I run the select in SQL Plus I get the desired results. However when I run it as part of the package it returns no rows. The select is:
SELECT atc1.column_name column_name
FROM all_tab_columns atc1, all_tab_columns atc2
WHERE atc1.owner = SCHEMA1
AND atc2.owner = SCHEMA2
AND atc1.table_name = atc2.table_name
AND atc1.table_name = TABLE_NAME
AND atc1.column_name = atc2.column_name;
The idea of the select is to identify all the columns for a table that are the same on two different schemas.
I have managed to narrow it down to the fact that the package does not see the same all_tab_columns as SQL Plus, ie it cannot see other schemas tables. Is there a grant that I need to do to ensure that the package can see all the other schemas? Or is there another way that I can do this?
Many thanks.
Is this package owned by the same user as you use when you're testing the query in SQL*Plus? And do you run that procedure as the same user? If not then you might be experiencing a misset value for AUTHID.
Cheers, APC

JUnfortunately - this happens with Outlook generated messages on occasion. Sometimes even Entourage can't cope. I find that the Gmail web interface does a pretty good job of dealing with messages that nearly every other email client fails with.
Equally, there are occasionally problems for Outlook users when they receive messages from Thunderbird users.
I am convinced that the problem lies in Outlook, and that there is little you can do about it.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Perhaps I am wrong.... (hint for someone else to come in with a solution). -
Problem viewing folder from Launchpad
I'm unable to view one of the folders in my launchpad. All the apps are still in the Applications folder, just unavailable from the Launchpad. Is there any way to restore the folder without losing my apps?
Here's a screenshot of the page with the Utilities folder. It's not the Apple utilities folder - those are stored elsewhere and are working fine - but other apps i've downloaded.Resetting the Dock should solve the problem.
Here is how to do it (this does not delete any files or apps):
1. Open Terminal.app (in Applications/Utilities)
2. type "killall Dock" (without the quotes).
3. hit Return -
Problem accessing members from different packages
Hi everyone,
I have an app with two packages which interact with each other, and the problem is that I have come to a point where changes in one package do not take effect when called from the other package. I have checked the folders and the compilations are correct, they are always the latest. However I cannot explain myself how this can happen. I have even wondered of re-installing netbeans (version 5.5.1 on JKD 1.6) to see if this fixes the problem.
It doesn't seem to be a problem of library dependency since all paths are correct!
I have tried everything possible, cleanings and recompilations everywhere, re-starting nbeans, re-starting computer, everything. Don't know what else to do.
I know it all began when I changed the scope of a class member in one of the packages.
I would post the code but in fact they are several packages, although it is only one the one causing the problem. I can't find a reason.
Could anyone give some advice on what else should I try?
Thanks in advance.

IPhoto - problems viewing pictures from library
I can view the thumbnails in the library but when I click on a photo to enlarge it or try to run a slideshow I just get a black screen. Any ideas?
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Problem viewing images from FTP server from HTMLs generated from a JSP
Hello,
We are developing an web application. The htmls will be dynamically generated based on user request. These htmls will contain images using urls like this "<img src="ftp://xyz/test.jpg">". We are having some strange problem. When we view the jsp generated html then it can not retreive the images fromthe FTP server. But when I copy the texts of this html and make a static html with this text then the image is shown...:-((
AhmedI don't know for sure,
but if you use a server like resin you need to place the port after the server (e.g. intranet:8080/index.html) so maybe you should type ftp://xyz:23/image.jpg. -
Problem viewing code from the SQL tab.
I keep getting Oracle error messages ORA-31603 and ORA-06512 in the Logging Page when I try to view the SQL code of a view or stored procedure. The tables are there along with the data. I can write SQL code and pull/update/insert/delete from my tables so my connection appears to be good. Is there any settings I might be missing on SQL Developer properties? ANy and all help would greatly be appreciated. Also, I use to be able to see SQL code in an earlier version of SQL Developer.

Problems viewing html from interactive swf export
I have created a student manual in InDesign CS5 that I need to email to our students. I exported it as an swf and also created an html. I tried to email the html but it won't open from the email. It will, however open on my computer. The swf file is too large to email. Any thoughts on how to make this functionality work?
My initial reaction is why would you do that with SWF?
PDF would have been a far better choice but if you want them to look at the
SWF put it on line, send a link and hope they're not using mobile devices.
Not at all likely that anywhere near half will be able to see it. -

Problem using existsnode from view
I am having a problem using existsnode from a view. I am currently using 10.2.0.3
example

extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/MiddleName') "MiddleName",
extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/LastName') "LastName",
extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/Suffix') "Suffix",
extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/PreferredName') "PreferredName",
extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/Gender') "Gender",

xmlelement("Addresses",

from org_person_assoc oa,

table(xmlsequence(extract(value(a),'/Association/Persons/Person'))) per
where extractvalue(value(per),'/Person/PersonID') = extractvalue(value(p),'/Person/PersonID')
) "Associations"
) person
from person p
/When I run the following statment
select person
from xml_person_association o
where existsnode(person,'/Person/Associations/Association[OrganizationID=30097]')=1;
I get no records returned. Now if I used the extract function and use the same path that's in the existsnode clause I get a record returned.
select extract(person,'/Person/Associations/Association')
from xml_person_association o
where existsnode(person,'/Person/Associations/Association[OrganizationID=30097]')=1;
<Association>
<Name>TEST DATA</Name>
<OrganizationID>30097</OrganizationID>
</Association>
If I run the same style of existsnode statment against a table directly instead of a view I am not required to use an extract caluse that has the same path that is used in the existsnode clause.
Thanks for the help.

Weird Can not access class from outside package problem
Hi, I have this problem and it seems the error message is very clear what the problem is but I did make the GeneralTestResult class PUBLIC already. What could be wrong? I did search for it but this is too general and didn't find any solution. Anyone can point out the problem? TIA.
public abstract class GeneralTestResult
public static int FAILING_THRESHOLE = 25;
public abstract String getTestName();
public abstract boolean isPassed();
public abstract int getLeftEyeResult();
public abstract int getRightEyeResult();
public abstract Calendar getTestDate();
// in a different file
package VisionSaver.Tests.TestResults;
import java.util.*;
public class AcuityORContrastTestResult extends GeneralTestResult
private String m_testName;
private int m_leftEyeVision, m_rightEyeVision;
private Calendar m_testDate;
// in a different file
package VisionSaver.Tests;
import VisionSaver.Tests.TestResults.*;
public class Acuity extends VirtualKeyboard implements ActionListener, Runnable, WindowListener
AcuityORContrastTestResult r = new AcuityORContrastTestResult(...);
}The compiling error is:
"Acuity.java": GeneralTestResult() in VisionSaver.Tests.TestResults.GeneralTestResult is not defined in a public class or interface; cannot be accessed from outside package at line 529, column 40The GeneralTestResult class is a packaged class. Sorry, when I cut and paste, I didn't copy everything. So here is the complete GeneralTestResult file:
package VisionSaver.Tests.TestResults;
import java.util.*;
public abstract class GeneralTestResult
public static int FAILING_THRESHOLE = 25;
public abstract String getTestName();
public abstract boolean isPassed();
public abstract int getLeftEyeResult();
public abstract int getRightEyeResult();
public abstract Calendar getTestDate();
}From the compiler's message, it seems like the import is OK. It just won't allow me to access non-public class but my classes here are declared public. Any other ideas? TIA -
From a beginner: problems viewing HD footage with iMovie
I wondered if someone could just tell me whether iMovie is in some way fundamentally unsuitable for viewing footage from a HD camera? I don't really understand this technology, but basically, footage shot on a HD camera plays back beautifully clearly on the camera's flip screen but looks awful when played back on the computer with iMovie. In the first instance I just need to establish whether the problem is with the camera, the software, or the connection between the camera and the computer (USB). It'd also help to know whether iMovie just plays what it sees, or whether it codes the footage in some way in the background, so that what you're seeing is a 'rendered' version of the film.
Thanks for any help you can give, and I'm sorry about the lack of technical terminology!It won't be the connection - If you are getting anything at all from the camcorder, you can pretty much assume that the connection is working - Its all digital.
When you say Panasonic, is it one of the new 600 / 700 models ?? And if so, are you recording in 1080p format (with the button inside the screen flap) ?? I'm guessing not, otherwise, you generally won't be able to see anything in iMovie without some additional steps.
Assuming it is a Panasonic AVCHD camcorder, and you're recording in one of the standard AVCHD settings, iMovie 09 should import the video off the camcorder without any issues. It is generally discussed that iMovie 09 does lower the resolution when you are dealing with interlaced footage (as standard AVCHD is). Even if you import it as Full Size (rather than large), the software will remove every other line of resolution in order to turn your interlaced footage (where half the image is transmitted, then the other half - as was always traditional) into Progressive video (as is the preference for modern LCD and computer screens etc.
This might be the cause of your problem. There are plenty of discussions on this forum regarding the loss of quality resolution with iMovie 09 (something that didn't happen with iMovie 06). If you think this might be the issue, there are solutions and work arounds but it is all a bit complicated. I believe iMovie 11 is better, but I've never tried it.
