Problem when rows in tables conditionalized

Hi all,
I'm really *really* hoping someone can help me with this.
I am using TCS 3, using FrameMaker integration to create Webhelp from my Frame source.
I use conditional text.
I set my conditions within FrameMaker and have Robohelp use the Frame conditional settings.
My tables are not that complicated, but in some cases, I have an entire row conditioned so that it does not appear in one stream of my output (i stream across my product releases with the same source).
I set my conditions properly in Frame but when I create the output, the Webhelp output has additional empty columns randomly placed at the right edge of my table (not across the entire table, either, just some rows show the extra empty columns). In one case, a row appears several rows below where it should have appeared.
When I delete the conditional text altogether from the rows in the table, the output generates correctly; obviously, this is not a solution.
Also of note: this problem only occurs if there are straddled rows or columns in the same table (even if the conditioned rows are not the ones that are straddled).
Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?
Thanks in advance.

When working in RoboHelp you have to select the whole row rather than just the contents of the row when applying a tag.
That is to simply avoid and empty row which is not quite what you are seeing. However, it may prompt you to apply your tags in Fm in a different way that does fix the problem.
Jeff is your man on what to do in Fm.

  • ORA-00600 problem when create XMLType table with registerd schema

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.4.0 on RedHat Linux 7.2
    I found a problem when I create table with registered schema with follow content:
         <xs:element name="body">

  • Problem when updating af:table with new records

    Hi,
    I have a page that shows two tables from the same DB table but with different VOs.
    Table1 displays records where date_column is within the current month, table2 displays all records.
    The problem is that when I add new record and return to the page, I find out that the new record has been added to both tables, it’s shown in table1 even though its date is not within this month.
    When I run the page again the problem is solved and everything is in the right place !!
    How can I fix this?

    Hi,
    you will have to re-query the iterators because you add the new row to a VO - which is an iterator - that wont filter your input (instead you add to a filtered iterator). However, its strange that both tables show that value because if these are different VO they should be independent. Only if they are instances of the same VO tehy are expected to show the same data

  • JSF: Problems adding rows to table with custom method

    Since this being my first post, I find it only appropriate to thank the development team for such a huge addition to the application development world. You guys rock. You have cured my Java identity crisis. That being said...
    I have been stumped for days. I'm making a simple web cart. I am trying to get two string values (name and price) passed through a custom exposed application module method ran on a backing bean. What I want the exposed VO module to do is, upon receiving the two strings, create a new row on the empty data controlled table I have built to store them. Basically I just need to add rows to a table with my custom managed bean. Most recent version.
    I have written a test method to make sure my backing bean and exposed app module impl were working. This test works:
    //WORKS
    //CartInfo.java
        public String cb1_action() {
            AppModuleImpl am = new AppModuleImpl();
            am.testMethod();
            return null;
    //AppModuleImp.java
        public void testMethod() {
            System.out.println("WORKS");
        }I found some code on how to add rows and unfortunately it isn't working out for some reason. Here is what is producing the error "Caused By: java.lang.NullPointerException" :
    //DOESN'T WORK IN CUSTOM METHOD BUT WORKS WHEN DRAGGED ON TO THE PAGE AS A COMMAND BUTTON
    //CartInfo.java
        public String cb1_action() {
            AppModuleImpl am = new AppModuleImpl();
            am.testMethod("test", "test");
            return null;
    //AppModuleImp.java
           public void testMethod(String pName,String pPrice) {
            ViewObjectImpl vo = this.getCartVO1();
            Row r = vo.createRow();
            r.setAttribute("NAME", pName);
            r.setAttribute("PRICE", pPrice);
            vo.insertRow(r);
    //The VO attributes for the DC are:
    // Name : Type : Alias Name : Entity Usage : Info
    NAME : String : NAME : (blank) : Transient
    PRICE : String : PRICE : (blank) : TransientSo what I have so far is a table linked to my database. A user can select and click on a product on the row's individual Add button and using a modified selection listener, it returns the values to the backing_bean.
    Then what I want it to do is have those variables passed to the other table. I just can't put it together.
    Please if there is anyone that could send me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thank you,
    Jack

    if i understand you, you want to call application module method when user clicks on add button on the UI and your table is from VO
    so what i can come up for now is:
    1) create variable binding from the iterator for both name and price.
    2) on your UI action button :
    <af:commandButton actionListener="yourbean.addToCart">
    <f:attribute name="pName" value ="binding.<created name bind variable>"
    <f:attribute name="pPrice" value = "binding.<created price bind variable>"
    </af:commandButton>
    3) custom Managed Bean:
    //yourBean.java
    public void addToCart(ActionEvent e){
    // get binding here
    // use executeWitParams method to send parameter to the function "testMethod" and execute
    //AppModuleImp.java
    public void testMethod(String pName,String pPrice) {
    CardVOImpl vo = this.getCartVO1();
    CardVORowImpl r = (CardVORowImpl)vo.createRow();
    r.setAttribute("NAME", pName);
    r.setAttribute("PRICE", pPrice);
    vo.insertRow(r);
    Hope this helps...
    Let me know if not..
    Thanks

  • Strange problem when joining two tables

    Hi,
    I have recently encountered a strange problem on an Oracle 11gR2 database which is optimized for Datawarehouse usage.
    I am using two tables that have a relationship enforced by two fields of type NUMBER(10).
    The problem is that when I am joining these two tables very often I get strange results and when I re-execute the query I get a different result. I saw in the explain plan that the Hash Join is used for joining these two tables.
    select count(*)
    from recharge_history rh, recharge_history_balance rhb
    where rh.recharge_id = rhb.recharge_id
    and rh.recharge_id2 = rhb.recharge_id2
    and trunc(rh.recharge_date_time) between '30-Dec-2012' and '31-Dec-2012'
    If I explicitly set the Join method to some other type through SQL Hints, or if I use to_number function when joining (even though the two fields used for join in both tables are of NUMBER(10) type), I get the correct result, like for example below:
    select /*+ USE_MERGE (rh rhb) */
    count(*)
    from recharge_history rh, recharge_history_balance rhb
    where rh.recharge_id = rhb.recharge_id
    and rh.recharge_id2 = rhb.recharge_id2
    and trunc(rh.recharge_date_time) between '30-Dec-2012' and '31-Dec-2012'
    select
    count(*)
    from recharge_history rh, recharge_history_balance rhb
    where to_number(rh.recharge_id) = t_number(rhb.recharge_id)
    and to_number(rh.recharge_id2) = (to_number)rhb.recharge_id2)
    and trunc(rh.recharge_date_time) between '30-Dec-2012' and '31-Dec-2012'
    Thank you for your time.

    Don't try to compare DATEs with VARCHAR2s, such as '30-Dec-2012'. The VARCHAR2 '31-Aug-2012' is between '30-Dec-2012' and '31-Dec-2012'; so are '31-Aug-2013' and '30-Mar-1999'.
    That may not be your only problem, but it's still a problem.
    If you're getting incosistent results, then it sounds like a bug. Start a service request with Oracle support.

  • Problem when joining two tables

    hi,
    in one table i have
    matno mattype
    00001    a
    00002    b
    00003    c
    00004    d
    in table two i have
    vno   matno
    v001     1
    v002     2
    v003     3
    v004     4
    when i am trying to link these two tables with matno it is not happening
    is it because it is showing '00001' in one table and '1' in other table
    how to fix this
    note:same material info object is their in both the tables

    Hi,
    are your two tables attribute master data tables? Can you paste the names here?
    If as you mention you ae using the same IObj 0MATERIAL, the data in should be the same, unless you didn't turn the conversion routine in the TRules of your second IObj (table vno/matno)
    Please describe with more detail the infoObjects related to your two tables and the TRules associated.
    As a very first check, verify if your material has MATN1 conversion routine and if you have activated it in both TRules; if not, do that, reload your master data, activate it and check it again.
    hope this helps...

  • Problem inserting rows to table using BPEL workflow

    Hi,
    I’m going to invoke below procedure which is inside a package.
    PROCEDURE as_ebs_status_msg(getData in varchar) AS
    BEGIN
    insert into AS_AP_INV_STATUS_IPM values('BP1234','BP1234','BP1234');
    END as_ebs_status_msg;
    Once I invoke this procedure from sql developer (Using execute command) it inserts those values to the table.
    But when I invoke this from a BPEL work flow (adding partner link) it completes without any error. But values are not getting populated to the table.
    And I tried to use Insert functionality of DB adapter, that is also not inserting values to any table but I can run select queries.
    Is anyone came across this issue?
    Thank You,
    any response greatly appreciated.......

  • Performance problem when printing - table TSPEVJOB big size

    Hi,
    in a SAP ERP system there is performance problem when printing because table TSPEVJOB has many millions of entries.
    This table has reached a considerable size (about 90 Gb); db size is 200 Gb.
    Standard reports have been scheduled correctly and kernel of SAP ERP system is updated.
    I've tried to scheduled report RSPO1041 (instead of RSPO0041) to reduce entries but it is not possible run it during normal operations because it locks the printing system.
    Do you know why this table has increased ?
    Are there any reports to clean this table or other methods ?
    Thanks.

    I have created a form with report, and now whe I click on the edit icon on the report page, it navigates me to the form page but wothout the row data, so it let me create a new row..
    What should I do??

    Hi,
    After editing the row go to session vales in the form page and see if the hidden primary key column has a value set ?
    Did you do any changes to the form or report after creating "From on a table with report" ?
    If you can recreate the issue in http://apex.oracle.com i can look into it.

  • ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate

    ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate a form.
    1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
    TABLE NAME - EMP
    Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
    Primary key column - EMPNO
    By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
    text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
    Button GET_EMP to submit
    Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
    If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional
    EXIST (SQL query returns at least one row)
    select 'x'
    from EMP
    where EMPNO = :P2099_EMPNO
    But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
    Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Pete

    Hi Mike,
    I've tried doing that but it doesn't seem to make any difference. If I turn debug on it shows below.
    0.05: Computation point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: ...Process "Fetch Row from EMP": DML_FETCH_ROW (AFTER_HEADER) F|#OWNER#:EMP:P2099_EMPNO:EMPNO
    0.05: Show ERROR page...
    0.05: Performing rollback...
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_ERROR_HEADER
    I don't really wan't the error page, either nothing with the form not being populated or a message at the top of the page.
    Thanks Pete

  • Delete rows from table...Bizarre problem.

    Folks
    i HAVE this bizarre problem.
    I hava a Java class which displays data read into a table with a delete
    option by the side of each row.
    Now lets assume you have 3 rows in the Table.
    abc deleteButton
    efg deleteButton
    xyz deleteButton
    When I click the first delete,that row gets deleted from the table.(perfect...)
    Now I have 2 rows.
    When I click on the first row,I get the error
    'You clicked -1'
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException: -1 < 0.
    Can anyone tell me why this is happening even though there are rows in the table.???

    Why did you repost? Don't do this, it is extremely rude!
    Stick with your other thread. I just gave you what I believe to be the correct answer.

    Hi!
    I have a problem creating a transparent table dynamical in a report. I tried both function modules that I could find (DDIF_TABL_PUT and RPY_TABLE_INSERT) but I wasn't able to get a table created.

    When I use the DB_CREATE_TABLE fm I only can create fields with datatype declaration (ddfield-datatype), but I need a fm where I can also create a field with a data element, because I'm generating the fields dynamically in the report based on the datatype/data element for a field.
    edit: I'll use the datatype/length/decimal of the corresponding data element. this should work...

  • Adding a Row to Table, ComboBox as a  TableCellRenderer Problem !!

    Hell All:
    I have a JTable with one of the Cell as ComboBox. Initially I draw the JTable with Three Rows and the
    the ComboBox in the Second Column works fine. I see each comboBox has different Items. The ComboBox also has a Renderer (as I am customizing the Item's Text )
    Here is the snippet from my Code.
    ==========================
    // UIEditSubAllocation.ALT_ACCOUNT = 2;
    // Get the Viewindex.... to get the correct column
    int viewIndex = this.m_suballocTable.convertColumnIndexToView(UIEditSubAllocation.ALT_ACCOUNT);
    // get the Table Column...
    TableColumn altActColumn = this.m_suballocTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(UIEditSubAllocation.ALT_ACCOUNT);
    // Create Three ComboBox..
    JComboBox[] altActCell = new JComboBox[3];
    for (int i =0;i< 3;++i) // adding Three Rows of Table Data...
    String [] alternateAccounts = new String[4];
    for(int j = 0; j < alternateAccounts.length; j++) // Each Alternate Accounts i.e combobox has 4 items..
    alternateAccounts[0] = "Tom";
    alternateAccounts[0] = "Vic";
    alternateAccounts[0] = "Tracy";
    alternateAccounts[0] = "Andy";
    altActCell[i] = new AltAccountComboBox(alternateAccounts,this.m_suballocTable);
    } // End of adding Three Rows
    altActColumn.setCellRenderer(new AltAccountTableCellRenderer());
    if (viewIndex >= 0)
    ComboBoxEditor altActCellEditor = new ComboBoxEditor(altActCell);
    altActColumn.setCellEditor(altActCellEditor);
    The CombBoxEditor code is...
    ublic class ComboBoxEditor extends DefaultCellEditor
    * Constructs a ComboBoxEditor that uses an array of items of type object.
    * @param items - an array of items of type object
    public JComboBox[] m_comboBox;
    public ComboBoxEditor(JComboBox[] box)
    super(box[0]);
    m_comboBox = box;
    for(int i = 0; i < box.length; i++)
    m_comboBox.setEditable(false);
    public Component getTableCellEditorComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected, int row, int column)
    if(row >= this.m_comboBox.length)
    return super.getTableCellEditorComponent(table, value, isSelected, row, column);
    return m_comboBox[row];
    But when I click a Button (in a Panel) which adds a Row (with No values for the ComboBox ).. to the Jtable .. The Row Gets added fine.. but the JComboBox comes with Values from the First Row's ComboBox. I Don't want any Values in the JComboBox for the new added Row. Can someone tell me
    how do I remove the Items from the ComboBox.
    I will really appreciate for any help...
    Thanks
    -Pankaj

    Hi ,
    as per my opinion one approach would be that ,
    you create a custom table region same as standard one using Jdeveloper and create other required fields also using jeveloper ,and then put this region in extend property of existing standard table region .
    thanks
